In the article the author explores the problems of public transport and traffic congestion in the two largest cities of the world - Moscow and New York, analyzes the proposed solutions in both cities, especially congestion pricing used to restrain traffic in New York, and the activities of Russian non-profit public organization Probok.net. The analysis of transport solutions of the world's largest metropolises - Moscow and New York showed that the authorities of these cities, despite the objective difficulties of transport, made an efficient transport system that fully provides for the needs of citizens within the city boundaries. Thanks to the efforts of the authorities of both Moscow and New-York, many priority types of modern transport systemshave been developed, while they are constantly updated and improved. Common to the Moscow and New York authorities were care of townspeople, the pursuit of diversity and enrichment of transport systems, timely decisions of smooth functioning of all kinds of public transport. Transportation problems could be successfully resolved by the common interest, as it is clearly seen in the comparative analysis of transport solutions in Moscow and New York.

This article is devoted to the place and role of the Moscow megalopolis in the Russian and global political space. The article reveals the problems of formation of the modern world a new political subjectivity and consideration of big cities, in particular Moscow, as fully fledged political actors and active participants of the political processes. The author pays special attention to the particular political functions of the capital megalopolis, as well as the resources and competitive advantages, which allow Moscow to play an active role in political relations and processes, both within the country and on the international arena.

The features of the ecological competence of students in the conditions of the capital megalopolis are investigated in the submitted article. The ecological competence is considered by the authors as a complex and integrated property of an ecologically focused personality in which there is a structure, components and indicators of the ecological culture. The data of a comparative pilot study of the ecological competence of the students of different faculties which testify to the existence of the qualitative and quantitative distinctions are provided in the work.

London is among most culturally diverse cities in Europe and in the world. This paper will investigate ethnic cultural integration of immigrants within the city's social space. Firstly the paper explores multi-cultural political inclusion strategies of London administration, municipal service provision and policy and cultural integration programs both on the city level and locally in London boroughs. Secondly this paper raises the question of the initiatives of ethnic minorities, the issue of ghettoisation and linguistic segregation of the city and analyzes the impact of such integration on social city space. The paper also analyses the preparation to Olympic Games 2012 in London as they are presented as cultural cohesion element.
