New U‒Pb (LA-ICP-MS) geochronological data have been obtained on accessory zircons from granodiorites and on detrital zircons from stream-sediment samples from the Shipunsky massif in the Eastern Kamchatka region. The age of accessory zircons from amphibole–biotite granodiorites has been estimated at 49–44 Ma. Detrital zircons have the Late Paleocene–Early Eocene age from ~57 to ~49 Ma. Based on the geological and geochronological data, the massif was formed in two stages: a gabbroid intrusion (56‒51 Ma) and the quartz diorite-granodiorite intrusion (49‒44 Ma). In terms of the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of the Upper Cretaceous–Eocene volcanic rocks in the Shipunsky Peninsula and granitoids in the Shipunsky massif, they were formed in the suprasubduction setting. The Shipunsky granitoids belong to the I-type granites. The Shipunsky massif was formed as a part of the Kronotsky intraoceanic paleoarc during the Paleocene–Eocene in two stages. The southern segment of the Kronotsky paleoarc collided with the Kamchatka continental margin and the deformed rocks of this massif were brought to the surface.

Abstract 2-Hydroxy-5-methoxyphenylphosphonic acid (H3L1) and the complex [Cu(H2L1)2(H2O)2] were synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The polyhedron of the copper atom is an axially elongated square bipyramid with oxygen atoms of phenolic and of monodeprotonated phosphonic groups at the base and oxygen atoms of water molecules at the vertices. The protonation constants of the H3L1 acid and the stability constants of its Cu2+ complexes in water were determined by potentiometric titration. The protonation constants of the acid in water are significantly influenced by the intramolecular hydrogen bond and the methoxy group. The H3L1 acid forms complexes CuL‒ and CuL24‒ with Cu2+ in water.

The authors' determinations of the U–Pb isotopic age of zircon (LA–ICP–MS method) in the main types of igneous rocks emphasize the presence of both Neogene and older (up to Late Paleozoic) intrusions at the deposit. The earliest are rocks of the “trondhjemite” massif, which were emplaced in the Late Paleozoic. This age of the rocks of the trondhjemite massif, confirmed by the U–Pb isotopic method (302 ± 4 Ma) for zircon from rocks of its main intrusive phase (tonalites–granodiorites), is consistent with manifestation of Late Paleozoic tungsten-bearing magmatism and associated W mineralization in the North Caucasus (in the Peredevoi Range) and allows a possible Late Paleozoic age of large bodies of altered skarns with W mineralization at the Tyrnyauz deposit. At the next, Neogene stage, the intrusion of leucocratic granites took place with the formation of bodies of igneous breccias, the emplacement of an accompanying aplite dike formation, and the development of intense molybdenum (with subordinate W) mineralization in large vein–veinlet, stockwork systems. The U–Pb isotopic age of zircon in leucocratic granites is 2.67 ± 0.04 Ma. Later, a large massif of biotite (Eldzhurt) granites and associated formation of aplite and alaskite dikes were formed. Emplacement of subvolcanic rhyolite bodies followed. The U–Pb isotopic age of zircon in the Eldzhurt granites is 2.10 ± 0.08 Ma, and in rhyolites, 2.05 ± 0.04 Ma. Intrusion of these rocks was accompanied by the formation of Mo–W–Bi–Te–Au mineralization.

The thermochemical treatment of tungsten trioxide (WO3) nanostructured films in hydrogen sulfide to obtain tungsten disulfide (WS2) layers in the WS2/WO3 hybrid structure is studied. The temperature and treatment time influence the structural-phase state, morphology, optical properties of a WS2/WO3/FTO photocathode (on fluorinated tin oxide (FTO) substrates), and its photoelectrocatalytic activity in the hydrogen evolution reaction in acidic solution is established. The sulfidation of WO3 nanoneedle films leads to the formation of a WS2/WO3 nanocrystalline hybrid structure under optimal conditions, which provides the separation of photogenerated carriers (electrons and holes) at the interphase boundaries (heterojunctions) necessary for the efficient photoactivated hydrogen evolution reaction according to Z scheme. The calculations of thermodynamic properties of the WS2/WO3 hybrid nanocatalyst show that synergistic effect of nanophases is possible in it to increase the catalytic activity of hydrogen evolution both on the basal planes of WS2 nanoclusters and on the surface of metal oxide nanoclusters.

—There is a brief overview of technogenic sources of microparticles associated with the extraction of mineral raw materials and fuel from the lithosphere. The overview focuses on the emissions of rock particles during the open-pit mining process. Assessments of microparticle emission into the surface layer of the atmosphere are obtained using the example of coal mining. The analysis was carried out on the basis of data on dust emission during various technological operations in mining activities and their total volume. The obtained assessments of microparticle emissions from open-pit coal mining in the world should be taken into account when analyzing the total aerosol balance of the atmosphere in the technogenic sources section, since these assessments are very close to the mass of emissions from motor vehicles and exceed the emissions of aviation and marine fleet. The dynamics of microparticle emission assessments from coal mining in the world for the period from 2010 to 2019 show that emissions increased by about 12% compared to 2010—this also corresponds to the growth of global open-pit coal mining.

—Mass industrial explosions on extended benches of open pits are the most effective way to crush rock. Such explosions are accompanied by the rise of a gas and dust cloud. Three-dimensional numerical experiments are used to study the interaction of ascending gas and dust clouds generated by three, five, and multiple linearly arranged explosions in open pit mines. We examine both the initial stage of formation of a hot rarefied dust and gas cloud after the scattering of detonation products and the subsequent rise of thermals caused by buoyancy forces. We have obtained the dependences of the rise altitude and the size of the gas and dust clouds on the distance between adjacent explosions.

According to the results of bird counts carried out in 140 habitats over 12 years, a hierarchical classification and a structural graph of the similarity of ornithocomplexes in the lowland southwestern part of Western Siberia and North Kazakhstan have been compiled in the period from 1982 to 2002. The hierarchical classification contains ten types of bird populations. The similarity graph is built at the level of types and is represented by three rows (trends). One row consists of bird complexes of residential and recreational areas, the second from wetlands, and the third from forest, forest-field, and steppe habitats. The characteristics of taxa of the classifications contain information on the three most numerous bird species (leaders in abundance), their share in the community, population density, and the background species richness. Based on the assessment of the degree of coincidence of the similarity of bird communities and environmental factors, a hierarchy of the impact of the main anthropogenic and natural factors determining the formation of the bird population has been established.
