In this article the authors discuss the curators of the rat genome database. They note that the presence of biological databases have been everywhere as reflected from the 1,170 molecular biology databases catalogued in the 2009 Nucleic Acids Research online Molecular Biology Database Collection. They explore how these data were gathered, integrated, the roles of curators in these processes. They mention that the curators specialize in various educational and research expertise.
