The article examines whether a computer can cook if its neural network is fed with thousands of recipes and asked to prepare something of its own. The network recalls only 65 characters at a time to keep processing fast. It hasn't seen as many examples of how to use rare ingredients like sesame and "until golden brown" instruction could mean sweet or savory, and ambiguity confuses the computer.
