Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 64-year old male patient with a mass in the distal bile duct. Topics discussed include his initial evaluation revealed mild cholestasis and common bile duct (CBD) dilatation by ultrasound; computed tomography of him showed a non-lithiasic, hypodense obstructive process of CBD for distal cholangiocarcinoma; and utility of a cholangioscopy with biopsies in the assessment and characterization of tumors in CBD.
