The combination catalyst of CeO2 and H-FAU zeolite was effective for the direct synthesis of diethyl carbonate from CO2 and ethanol with 2,2-diethoxypropane as a dehydrating regent, where H-FAU catalyzed hydrolysis of 2,2-diethoxypropane. A green strategy was developed for recycling a thermosetting unsaturated polyester resin (TUPR) using phosphotungstic acid hydrate (HPWH) coupled with acetic acid under mild conditions. As an environmentally benign catalyst, HPWH greatly enhanced the swelling of TUPR in acetic acid and exhibited high catalytic activity for the selective catalytic degradation of TUPR. Acetic acid improved HPW–TUPR interfacial contact, which facilitated the HPW diffusion and transmission in the TUPR internal matrix. A series of bis(pyridylcarbamate) ligands with the flexible diethylene glycol spacer and carbamate NH donors as catalysts have been designed and synthesized, and these can be used for the fixation of carbon dioxide with commercially sourced epoxides under mild conditions using alkali metal salts. It is worth noting that between the ligand and the alkali metal salt there is a synergetic effect, which plays an important role in accelerating the reaction rate. A hybrid catalyst based on monoprotonated divanadium-substituted phosphotungstate ([γ-HPV2W10O40]4−) was synthesized and used for the selective oxidation of sulfides.
