Abstract

An Ag/AgVO3 plasmonic photocatalyst was synthesized via in situ reduction of AgVO3 by NaBH4 at room temperature. The Ag/AgVO3 showed high photocatalytic activity due to the relatively high conductivity and electron-storing capacity of Ag nanoparticles, which facilitate the charge transfer between AgVO3 and Ag nanoparticles. FDTD simulation indicates that the formed Ag nanoparticles induce SPR leading to the increased electric field and the enhanced absorption of visible light. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
