The article presents a case report of a 17-year-old high school student who had a lethal aortic arch injury caused by a rugby tackle during a rugby game. He was taken to the nearest hospital 30 minutes after his collapse, but was then transferred to another department when shock state persisted. Physical examination showed that his neck and left shoulder were swollen and his trachea deviated to the right, though there was no open fracture. A discussion on blunt aortic injury is also presented.
