MENTAL HEALTH IN SCHOOLS MENTAL HEALTH IN SCHOOLS Across 20 years as an educator and school-based mental health counselor, I have come to understand that knowledge and strategies alone are not enough to support children who are struggling with overwhelming life circumstances and injustice. The limitations of trauma-informed perspectives Increasingly, educators are interested in implementing trauma-informed practices (Lelli, 2021; Powell et al., 2020; Wright, 2013a).
