The article discusses the relations between the U.S. and Indonesia and security architecture of Southeast Asia. It informs that the relationship between the U.S. and Indonesia is unique as there is a greater perception of give and take between Washington and Jakarta, Indonesia. It also informs that the uncertainty in the security environment in Washington has propelled it to take a closer interest in Southeast Asian security.
