The highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (HOMO and LUMO) are important in chemistry. In this context, we have undertaken resonance Raman (RR) spectroscopic studies on organic radical ions of phenanthrenes, phenazine, bipyridyls, pyrazine, tetramethylpyrazine, alkyl-substituted biphenyls, 4-phenylpyridine, and p-terphenyl [1].
