This work presents a new approach to evaluate operators skills regarding their activities. This approach is based on an activity model composed of three primary activities. For each primary activities, an indicator has been proposed. The method has been applied in the case of a picking task. Results are compared with expert analysis and seem consistent. The approach shows there is no clear link between performance and skills.

The current feasibility analysis of specific courses, expert analysis or single item analysis is usually used, and the results are relatively one-sided, so it is difficult to achieve a comprehensive feasibility analysis. Therefore, this paper designs the feasibility analysis model of Wushu Sanda course in universities based on deep learning. First of all, the relationship between curriculum system and training objectives is analyzed, and the relationship matrix between curriculum and objectives is established. Then according to the relationship between training objectives, the importance of the course is analyzed. After that, the training objective factors in the course are analyzed to realize the course process data. At last, use deep learning technology to analyze the marginal characteristics of data, and get the feasibility results of the course. The experiment is designed to analyze the feasibility of Wushu Sanda course in a university. The experimental results show that the model can analyze the feasibility of the course, and get the data for reference to meet the design requirements.

The article presents an analysis of the formation of the informational image of the HEI, namely: natural unmanaged process of formation of informational image of HEI, informational image of HEI as an element of the system of rating of higher education, analysis of sources of formation of information image of HEI, management of the process of formation of information image. The stages of the informational image formation process are analyzed, they are shown how they are realized in two models: passive and active. The scenarios of further actions in the community are proposed in cases of low productivity (subjective, aggressive, stationary cases). The typical scenarios of the HEI information activity for the stationary case of low productivity are presented. The analysis of the integrity and completeness of coverage of the information image of the HEI is carried out. The analysis of thematic gaps in the description of the HEI and the informational case of HEI is carried out. The expert analysis of the description of the topics of the HEI, the analysis of the activity of the competitive higher educational institutions, and the analysis of the semantic structure of the WWW information space are considered.

Resilience is defined as readiness for secure and acceptable service under abnormal work conditions (e.g. disruptions, attacks, accidences, disaster). The paper shows possibilities of disruption process analysis for real engineering machines. The expert analysis of disasters creates a unique opportunity to address the real catastrophic events concerned excavators and spreaders in Polish open pit mining. Total number of undesired events has reached 235 and affected 95 machines. Only 23% of all machines were not involved in a large breakdown. The most frequent catastrophic events dealt with impact load (120 events) and failure of the system rotating machine body (67 events). The problem is described by 6 particular cases.

In this paper, we discuss the characteristics of a smartphone system that behaves as an automated e-coach that supports behavior change. To mimic the behavior of a human coach and to build a relationship with the end-user, the system offers a conversational experience and behaves as an active virtual coach that discusses various aspects with the coachee about the therapy. For that, the system provides two types of integrated interfaces that we call the ‘Talk-and-Tools’ paradigm. Talk provides the functionality for the conversational experience, while various Tool-interfaces form a coherent structure of input and output facilities that enable the user to get access to and manipulate relevant information. Currently, the system supports cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia, but its generic design targets at a broad range of application domains. Various types of tests and user evaluations were performed, ranging from expert analysis to a randomized controlled trial with insomnia patients.

Methods and approaches to be used in monitoring the monument condition are discussed. The main stages of materials science expert analysis are considered. The technique for qualimetric assessment of the integrated condition of the material and various options of mapping the forms of its deterioration are described: those based on the results of visual inspection, ultrasonic sounding, and also using computer technologies, including 3D laser scanning. The potential and efficiency of comprehensive laboratory instrumental methods for studying the material of the monument and the products of its deterioration are analyzed: polarization microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe analysis, IR spectroscopy. The design of the database on the state of sculptural monuments in St. Petersburg, for the storage, analysis and structuring of the material gathered during the monitoring, is presented.

One of the main factors influencing the economic development of the region, country and the world is transport. There is competition among transport operators at the same sector, and with other market segment operators. The competition is observed among railways and air operation too. They would like to carry out, not only individual passenger’s needs but also to gain higher market share and better financial results. The paper presents the functioning of two substitutable transport markets handling passenger transport at the London-Paris route and return. The aim of the research is to find out how railway and aviation operators compete in the markets to achieve market advantage. The market factors are basic purpose, the authors performed, analysed and establish two operators. For pursuing the purpose, the authors used reachable information from the subjects of the market. The main applied methods were critical in analysis of the data and the expert analysis.

This chapter explains why Global Integrity, an independent non-profit organisation best known for its Global Integrity Report, started working on indicator-based integrity assessments, how its approach and methodology have evolved over the last decade and the linkages to broader developments in the field of governance measurement. In addition, the chapter lays out the reasons why Global Integrity has revised its organisational strategy and the resulting implications for on-going and future data projects. The authors—the former and current directors of research at Global Integrity—walk readers through three main stages in this evolution. The first stage involves Global Integrity’s origins and the gap that the Global Integrity Report came to fill in the governance measurement field in the 2000s. In the second stage, Global Integrity iteratively enhanced its methodology and refocused its aim, effectively shifting from a traditional expert assessment to a “fact-based expert analysis”, and expanded into new regional and sector assessments. In the third stage, Global Integrity’s growing concerns about the overall impact of its data resulted in the organisation re-evaluating its theory of change and revising some of its core assumptions about how governance reform happens and how measurements can contribute. This has resulted in an effort to better understand and support the use and usefulness of data at the country level and to rethink the role that external “best-practice” benchmarks play vis-a-vis locally defined “best-fit” benchmarks, re-orienting the organisation towards exploring how adaptive learning can contribute to supporting domestic stakeholders in driving governance reform.

This open access book provides an overview of childlessness throughout Europe. It offers a collection of papers written by leading demographers and sociologists that examine contexts, causes, and consequences of childlessness in countries throughout the region. The book features data from all over Europe. It specifically highlights patterns of childlessness in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland. An additional chapter on childlessness in the United States puts the European experience in perspective. The book offers readers such insights as the determinants of lifelong childlessness, whether governments can and should counteract increasing childlessness, how the phenomenon differs across social strata and the role economic uncertainties play. In addition, the book also examines life course dynamics and biographical patterns, assisted reproduction as well as the consequences of childlessness. Childlessness has been increasing rapidly in most European countries in recent decades. This book offers readers expert analysis into this issue from leading experts in the field of family behavior. From causes to consequences, it explores the many facets of childlessness throughout Europe to present a comprehensive portrait of this important demographic and sociological trend.
