In the context of existing literature being fragmented and lacking systematicity, the relationship between corporate digital transformation and the cost of equity financing is re-examined by constructing a return-risk-expectation theoretical framework. We found that corporate digital transformation significantly reduces equity financing costs; this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests. Corporate digital transformation improves investors' expectations by increasing their future earnings and lowering their risk levels. As a result, to share firms’ growth potential, investors will lower the cost of equity. Moreover, by constructing the lifecycle model, we explored the heterogeneity condition from a time-dynamic perspective and found the inhibiting effect is more pronounced in firms staying in growth and mature stages. Moderating effect analysis shows that marketization and investor sentiment can positively moderate the relationship between the two. We complement and extend the existing literature. This pilot study explores the relationship between nocturnal hypoglycemia (NH) and subjective sleep quality in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Twenty-seven adults with T1D wore a Freestyle Libre Pro CGM and recorded subjective sleep quality daily, as assessed by a single Likert scale question. Frequency, duration, area under the curve (AUC) of NH (00:00–06:00) defined as sensor glucose below threshold (< 3.9 mmol/L; < 3 mmol/L) for ≥ 15 min, nocturnal mean glucose, Time in Range (3.9–10 mmol/L), and coefficient of variation were calculated. Twenty-seven adults, 18 (66.7%) women, with median (IQR) age of 27 (26, 32) years and HbA1c of 7.6 (7.1, 8.1) participated. Nights with NH < 3.9 mmol/L resulted in a lower (worse) sleep score than nights without NH [Mean (SD): 3.3 (1.2) vs 3.5 (1.0), p = 0.03). A higher frequency and longer duration but not AUC [adjusted OR (95% CI) 0.52 (0.38, 0.72), 0.961 (0.932, 0.991), 0.999 (0.998, 1.001) respectively)], of NH < 3.9 mmol/L, were associated with a lower sleep score. NH < 3.0 mmol/L metrics were not associated with sleep quality. Recurrent NH < 3.9 mmol/L, rather than prolonged NH < 3.0 mmol/L, seems associated with subjective sleep quality, implying that those with the highest burden of NH are likely unaware of it. Introduction/objectives: To address the diagnostic delay in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), we have cross-culturally adapted the Hamilton axSpA questionnaire, a self-administered screening questionnaire, in the Singapore population. In this study, we compared the performance of various scoring methods for this questionnaire in detecting axSpA. Method: The questionnaire was self-administered by eligible subjects. Scoring methods included method A, the original questionnaire scoring, and methods B–E, scoring developed based on the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS) criteria for inflammatory back pain (IBP) and the referral, classification and both referral and classification of axSpA, respectively. The reference standard was diagnosis by a rheumatologist. Since the ASAS criteria-based scoring methods were mainly based on clinical axSpA features, self-report and rheumatologist-assessment of clinical axSpA features were also compared in subjects with axSpA. Results: Of 1418 subjects (age: 54 ± 14 years, female: 73%) recruited, 46 were diagnosed with axSpA by a rheumatologist. Sensitivities of methods A–E were 35%, 61%, 63%, 48% and 83%, respectively. Self-report of clinical axSpA features exceeded rheumatologist-assessment for arthritis (83 vs 26%), good response to NSAIDs (37 vs 30%), enthesitis (35 vs 30%), dactylitis (20 vs 2%) and family history for axSpA (13 vs 4%). The reverse was true for IBP (41 vs 63%) and uveitis (4 vs 15%). Conclusions: A self-administered questionnaire using the ASAS referral and classification criteria-based scoring yielded relatively high sensitivity in detecting axSpA in subjects newly referred to rheumatology clinics. This supports its evaluation as a screening and referral tool in the general population in future studies. Introduction: The adverse implications of obesity extend beyond physical health to include negative impact on quality of life (QoL), mood, and eating habits. While bariatric surgery provides successful weight loss and metabolic benefits, studies describe conflicting results on QoL and mood-related outcomes. Methods: Patients (n = 140) with class II/III obesity and T2DM were recruited from 2015 to 2019, and stratified based on medical or surgical treatment. Questionnaires including the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Euro QoL visual analogue scale (EQ-VAS), and Revised 21-item Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-R21) were recorded at baseline, 6 months, and 12 months after treatment. Results: At baseline, the surgical group (n = 55) and medical group (n = 85) had no significant difference in questionnaire outcomes. At 6 and 12 months, EQ-VAS was higher in the surgical group (12 months surgical 82.00 ± 12.64, medical 72.81 ± 16.56, p = 0.001), with greater improvement from baseline. HADS-D scores at 12 months were lower in the surgical group (surgical 2.60 ± 2.88, medical 3.90 ± 3.58, p = 0.025). At 12 months, the surgical group also had better TFEQ-R21 scores, with higher cognitive restraint scores (surgical 19.09 ± 3.00, medical 16.69 ± 3.61, p < 0.001), and lower scores for uncontrolled eating (surgical 14.96 ± 3.87, medical 17.89 ± 5.34, p = 0.001). Conclusion: In the treatment of patients with obesity and T2DM, bariatric surgery resulted in improved QoL outcomes at 12 months compared to medical therapy. This could be related to improvement in weight and metabolic outcomes, and altered gut-brain axis communication. Objectives: To cross-culturally adapt the Connective Tissue Disease (CTD) Screening Questionnaire (CSQ) in a multi-ethnic Asian population in Singapore. Methods: An expert panel of accredited rheumatologists evaluated the content validity of the original CSQ. Consenting participants newly referred from primary care to a rheumatology specialist outpatient clinic for evaluation of possible CTDs were studied. Cognitive debriefing interviews (CDIs) using the original CSQ were conducted with English-speaking participants, with modifications made based on their inputs and in discussion with a second expert panel (rheumatologists and the CSQ developers). Forward and back translations of the adapted English version were reviewed by the second expert panel. The common translation produced was tested in CDIs with Chinese-speaking participants. Adapted English and Chinese versions were pilot tested in a separate group of newly referred patients. Results: Content validity of the original CSQ was confirmed by the expert panel. A total of 30 and 15 participants were recruited for English and Chinese CDIs, respectively. Alternative terms and explanatory notes were added to difficult medical terms in the adapted English CSQ. A further explanatory note was added to one difficult item, and English medical terms were retained in the Chinese version. Pilot testing of the adapted CSQ was performed on 116 participants, which exhibited an overall sensitivity and specificity of 71% and 58%, respectively, in identifying CTDs. Conclusions: The adapted CSQ demonstrated satisfactory sensitivity in the pilot testing and appears to be a promising tool for facilitating early identification of CTDs in the multi-ethnic Asian population. The aim of this study was to (1) translate the Gastrointestinal Tract Instrument (GIT) 2.0 from English to Chinese and (2) validate both versions in a multi-ethnic systemic sclerosis cohort in Singapore (SCORE). The English GIT2.0 was translated to Chinese using a standard forward-backward translation approach. Psychometric evaluation of the GIT2.0 included internal consistency reliability (using Cronbach's alpha), test-retest reliability (using intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC)), scale level factor analysis, and construct validity (using Spearman correlation) against the modified Scleroderma Health Assessment Questionnaire (S-HAQ) and the SF-36 v2. Most of the patients were females (88.6%) and Chinese (78.2%), with mean (SD) age of 51.0 (13.0) years and median disease duration of 4.5 years. We administered English ( n = 146) and Chinese ( n = 74) GIT2.0. The mean (SD) total GIT score was 0.29 (0.37). There was good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha >0.70 for all subscales) and good test-retest reliability for the scale and all subscales (ICC 0.71-0.92) except for 'diarrhoea' (ICC = 0.54). Our hypothesised a priori construct validity was supported by moderate correlations between the total GIT score and S-HAQ GI subscale ( r = 0.446), and the social functioning subscale and SF36v2 role-social domain ( r = 0.337), and weak-to-moderate correlation between the emotional subscale and SF-36v2 role-emotional ( r = 0.295) and mental health ( r = 0.298) domains and mental component summary ( r = 0.356). Exploratory factor analysis of the seven subscales yielded a two-factor solution explaining 69.63% of the total variance. This study provides evidence for the reliability and validity of the English and Chinese GIT2.0 to be used in Singapore for research and routine practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
