The article focuses on the effectiveness of carbon offsetting in protecting the environment against green house gas emissions. Offsetting is being increasingly accepted by the businesses and the money collected is used to buy credits in the emission market and this money will be invested on renewable energy technology sources in developing countries. The article also presents that reduction of energy consumption along with voluntary measures can result in effective carbon offsetting.
