In recent times, biochar has emerged as a novel approach for environmental remediation due to its exceptional adsorption capacity, attributed to its porous structure formed by the pyrolysis of biomass at elevated temperatures in oxygen-restricted conditions. This characteristic has driven its widespread use in environmental remediation to remove pollutants. When biochar is introduced into ecosystems, it usually changes the makeup of microbial communities by offering a favorable habitat. Its porous structure creates a protective environment that shields them from external pressures. Consequently, microorganisms adhering to biochar surfaces exhibit increased resilience to environmental conditions, thereby enhancing their capacity to degrade pollutants. During this process, pollutants are broken down into smaller molecules through the collaborative efforts of biochar surface groups and microorganisms. Biochar is also often used in conjunction with composting techniques to enhance compost quality by improving aeration and serving as a carrier for slow-release fertilizers. The utilization of biochar to support sustainable agricultural practices and combat environmental contamination is a prominent area of current research. This study aims to examine the beneficial impacts of biochar application on the absorption and breakdown of contaminants in environmental and agricultural settings, offering insights into its optimization for enhanced efficacy. Purpose: This study investigated variations in gut microbiota among severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients and changes in gut microbiota after continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment. Method: From November 2020 to August 2021, laboratory-based polysomnography (PSG) was used to measure sleep parameters in healthy controls, severe OSA patients, and severe OSA patients treated with CPAP for three months. A fully automated biochemical analyzer was used to evaluate routine blood tests and biochemical indicators. Whole-genome metagenomic analysis was used to determine the microbial composition of gut samples from all participants. The relationships between gut microbiota and hypertension were examined using correlation analysis. Result: The relative abundances of Bacteroides, Firmicutes, and Parabacteroides were significantly lower at the species level. Enterobacterales and Turicibacter were significantly higher in participants with severe OSA than healthy controls. Negative correlations were identified between Bacteroides coprocola and systolic blood pressure (SBP) (r = − 0.710, P = 0.003) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) (r = − 0.615, P = 0.015). Conversely, a positive correlation was found between Escherichia coli and SBP (r = 0.568, P = 0.027). Conclusion: The metabolic pathways and gut microbiota differed significantly between the control group and individuals with severe OSA. Additionally, CPAP therapy substantially changed the metabolic pathways and gut microbial composition among patients diagnosed with severe OSA. Summary: Malnutrition is associated with complications and mortality in patients of hip fracture. Prealbumin may be more suitable than albumin to accurately predict the prognosis of hip fracture in elderly patients. We found that prealbumin concentration was nonlinearly associated with mortality in elderly patients with hip fracture, and an inflection point effect was observed. Objective: To evaluate the association between prealbumin concentration at admission and mortality in elderly patients with hip fractures. Methods: Elderly patients with hip fractures were screened between Jan 2015 and Sep 2019. Demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients were collected. Linear and nonlinear multivariate Cox regression models were used to identify the association between prealbumin concentration at admission and mortality. All analyses were performed using EmpowerStats and the R software. Results: This cohort study included 2387 patients who met the study criteria. The mean follow-up was 37.64 months. The prealbumin concentration was 162.67 ± 43.2 mg/L. Multivariate Cox regression showed that prealbumin concentration was associated with mortality in geriatric patients with hip fracture (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.95, 95% confidence intervals [CI]: 0.93–0.97, P < 0.0001). In addition, an inflection point effect was observed in the nonlinear association. The inflection point was 162.2 mg/L. If it is less than this inflection point, then every 10 mg/L increase in prealbumin was associated with a 7% reduction in the risk of death (HR = 0.93, 95%CI: 0.90–0.96, P < 0.0001). When greater than the inflection point, there was no difference in the risk of death (HR = 0.99, 95%CI: 0.95–1.03, P = 0.5127). Conclusion: The prealbumin concentrations at admission were nonlinearly associated with long-term mortality in geriatric hip fractures, and 162.2 mg/L could be considered a prognostic factor of mortality risk. Recently, cellular senescence-induced unstable carotid plaques have gained increasing attention. In this study, we utilized bioinformatics and machine learning methods to investigate the correlation between cellular senescence and the pathological mechanisms of unstable carotid plaques. Our aim was to elucidate the causes of unstable carotid plaque progression and identify new therapeutic strategies. First, differential expression analysis was performed on the test set GSE43292 to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the unstable plaque group and the control group. These DEGs were intersected with cellular senescence-associated genes to obtain 40 cellular senescence-associated DEGs. Subsequently, key genes were then identified through weighted gene co-expression network analysis, random forest, Recursive Feature Elimination for Support Vector Machines algorithm and cytoHubba plugin. The intersection yielded 3 CSA-signature genes, which were validated in the external validation set GSE163154. Additionally, we assessed the relationship between these CSA-signature genes and the immune landscape of the unstable plaque group. This study suggests that cellular senescence may play an important role in the progression mechanism of unstable plaques and is closely related to the influence of the immune microenvironment. Objective: To develop a computed tomography (CT) radiomics-based interpretable machine learning (ML) model to preoperatively predict human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status in bladder cancer (BCa) with multicenter validation. Methods: In this retrospective study, 207 patients with pathologically confirmed BCa were enrolled and divided into the training set (n = 154) and test set (n = 53). Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to identify the most discriminative features in the training set. Five radiomics-based ML models, namely logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbors (KNN), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and random forest (RF), were developed. The predictive performance of established ML models was evaluated by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). The Shapley additive explanation (SHAP) was used to analyze the interpretability of ML models. Results: A total of 1218 radiomics features were extracted from the nephrographic phase CT images, and 11 features were filtered for constructing ML models. In the test set, the AUCs of LR, SVM, KNN, XGBoost, and RF were 0.803, 0.709, 0.679, 0.794, and 0.815, with corresponding accuracies of 71.7%, 69.8%, 60.4%, 75.5%, and 75.5%, respectively. RF was identified as the optimal classifier. SHAP analysis showed that texture features (gray level size zone matrix and gray level co-occurrence matrix) were significant predictors of HER2 status. Conclusions: The radiomics-based interpretable ML model provides a noninvasive tool to predict the HER2 status of BCa with satisfactory discriminatory performance. Acetochlor is a selective pre-emergent herbicide that is widely used to control annual grass and broadleaf weeds. However, due to its stable chemical structure, only a small portion of acetochlor exerts herbicidal activity in agricultural applications, while most of the excess remains on the surfaces of plants or enters ecosystems, such as soil and water bodies, causing harm to the environment and human health. In recent years, researchers have become increasingly focused on the repair of acetochlor residues. Compared with traditional physical and chemical remediation methods, microorganisms are the most effective way to remediate chemical pesticide pollution, such as acetochlor, because of their rich species, wide distribution, and diverse metabolic pathways. To date, researchers have isolated and identified many high-efficiency acetochlor-degrading strains, such as Pseudomonas oleovorans, Klebsiella variicola, Bacillus subtilus, Rhodococcus, and Methylobacillus, among others. The microbial degradation pathways of acetochlor include dechlorination, hydroxylation, N-dealkylation, C-dealkylation, and dehydrogenation. In addition, the microbial enzymes, including hydrolase (ChlH), debutoxylase (Dbo), and monooxygenase (MeaXY), responsible for acetochlor biodegradation are also being investigated. In this paper, we review the migration law of acetochlor in the environment, its toxicity to nontarget organisms, and the main metabolic methods. Moreover, we summarize the latest progress in the research on the microbial catabolism of acetochlor, including the efficient degradation of microbial resources, biodegradation metabolic pathways, and key enzymes for acetochlor degradation. At the end of the article, we highlight the existing problems in the current research on acetochlor biodegradation, provide new ideas for the remediation of acetochlor pollution in the environment, and propose future research directions. Background: This study was designed to develop an innovative classification and guidance system for renal hilar tumors and to assess the safety and effectiveness of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) for managing such tumors. Methods: A total of 179 patients undergoing RAPN for renal hilar tumors were retrospectively reviewed. A novel classification system with surgical techniques was introduced and the perioperative features, tumor characteristics, and the efficacy and safety of RAPN were compared within subgroups. Results: We classified the tumors according to our novel system as follows: 131 Type I, 35 Type II, and 13 Type III. However, Type III had higher median R.E.N.A.L., PADUA, and ROADS scores compared with the others (all p < 0.001), indicating increased operative complexity and higher estimated blood loss [180.00 (115.00–215.00) ml]. Operative outcomes revealed significant disparities between Type III and the others, with longer operative times [165.00 (145.00–200.50) min], warm ischemia times [24.00 (21.50–30.50) min], tumor resection times [13.00 (12.00–15.50) min], and incision closure times [22.00 (20.00–23.50) min] (all p < 0.005). Postoperative outcomes also showed significant differences, with longer durations of drain removal (77.08 ± 18.16 h) and hospitalization for Type III [5.00 (5.00–6.00) d] (all p < 0.05). Additionally, Type I had a larger tumor diameter than the others (p = 0.009) and pT stage differed significantly between the subtypes (p = 0.020). Conclusions: The novel renal hilar tumor classification system is capable of differentiating the surgical difficulty of RAPN and further offers personalized surgical steps tailored to each specific classification. A class of ZN≥3-symmetric WIMP dark matter models that are characterized by the semi-annihilation into the companion of dark matter has been proposed in ref. [1], providing a mechanism to evade the stringent direct detection constraint. In this work, we point out that such models naturally provide the three Sakharov elements necessary for dark matter asymmetry, and moreover this asymmetry can be transferred to the visible sector with a proper link to the leptonic or quark sector. In our minimal Z3 example, the migration to the leptonic sector is via the asymmetric companion decay into neutrinos, and the lepton asymmetry can be further transferred to the quark sector. The CP violation parameter is restrained in this model. Thus, we explore the thermal motion effect of dark matter and find that it gives an enhancement to the CP violation parameter, which is studied for the first time. A preliminary numerical analysis based on the Boltzmann equations shows that both correct relic density of dark matter and baryon asymmetry can be accommodated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A leveling accuracy adjustment equipment system and module for precision machinery were developed in this study with the fundamental purpose of increasing measurement accuracy and establishing a leveling adjustment method. The leveling system and module were self-developed software and firmware. The sensor module used electrolyte tilt sensors as measurement components. The experimental method was performed in three stages. In Stage 1, intelligent leveling accuracy measurement equipment and system were developed. In Stage 2, the uniform design method was used to design the experiments, and different parameters were verified. In Stage 3, the fuzzy method was used for prediction and verification. In terms of the stability of the self-developed measurement equipment, the precision (Cp value) of this equipment was greater than Class A, while in terms of reproducibility, the Cp value and accuracy (Ca value) of this equipment were of Class B and Class A, respectively. Finally, the resolution test revealed that the minimum resolution attained was 2 μm. In average curve fitting, the fitting degrees of the total X and Y axes of the uniform design method in the designed experiments were 90.47% and 92.34%, respectively. After fuzzy inference, the prediction model adjusted X and Y axes errors reached the target adjustment value of ± 0.02 mm, and the target values of the distance X and Y axes were increased by 88.67% and 62.67%, respectively on average, indicating successful development of the measuring method and equipment. Objective: To assess the infiltration characteristics of tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) in buccal mucosa carcinoma (BMC) and the correlation of these features with clinicopathological factors. Materials and methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of TAM-related markers (CD68, CD163, CD206), CD8+ T cell markers, PD-L1, and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in 46 patients with mucosal cancer after radical surgery. In addition, the correlation between TAM infiltration and clinical characteristics, PD-L1 expression, and EGFR expression was analysed. Results: A high infiltration level of M2-polarized (CD206+) TAMs and M2-polarized (CD163+) TAMs was more common in stage T3–T4, N+, III–IV patients than in other patient groups (P < 0.05). The infiltration degree of M2-polarized (CD68+) TAMs was positively correlated with the PD-L1 TPS (P = 0.0331). The infiltration level of M2-polarized (CD206+) TAMs was higher in the EGFR high expression group than in the EGFR low expression group (P = 0.040). Conclusion: High infiltration of M2-polarized TAMs is highly associated with advanced disease stage and higher expression of PD-L1 and EGFR in BMCs, suggesting that M2-polarized TAMs infiltration can serve as a potential therapeutic target. Neutrinoless double beta (0νββ) decay is the most promising way to determine whether neutrinos are Majorana particles. There are many experiments based on different isotopes searching for 0νββ decay. Combining the searches of 0νββ decay in multiple isotopes provides a possible method to distinguish operators and different models. The contributions to 0νββ decay come from standard, long-range, and short-range mechanisms. We analyze the scenario in which the standard and short-range operators exist simultaneously within the framework of low-energy effective field theory. Five specific models are considered, which can realize neutrino mass and can contribute to 0νββ decay via multiple mechanisms. A criterion to evaluate the possibilities of future experiments to discriminate operators and models is built. We find that the complementary searches for 0νββ decay in different isotopes can distinguish the cases that contain the low-energy effective operators O 1 , 2 , 5 and R-parity violating supersymmetry model. For other cases and models, the experimental searches within multiple isotopes can also more effectively constrain the parameter region than with only one isotope. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a highly malignant tumor that poses a severe threat to human health. Brain glycogen phosphorylase (PYGB) breaks down glycogen and provides an energy source for tumor cells. Although PYGB has been reported in several tumors, its role in PC remains unclear. Methods: We constructed a risk diagnostic model of PC-related genes by WGCNA and LASSO regression and found PYGB, an essential gene in PC. Then, we explored the pro-carcinogenic role of PYGB in PC by in vivo and in vitro experiments. Results: We found that PYGB, SCL2A1, and SLC16A3 had a significant effect on the diagnosis and prognosis of PC, but PYGB had the most significant effect on the prognosis. Pan-cancer analysis showed that PYGB was highly expressed in most of the tumors but had the highest correlation with PC. In TCGA and GEO databases, we found that PYGB was highly expressed in PC tissues and correlated with PC's prognostic and pathological features. Through in vivo and in vitro experiments, we found that high expression of PYGB promoted the proliferation, invasion, and metastasis of PC cells. Through enrichment analysis, we found that PYGB is associated with several key cell biological processes and signaling pathways. In experiments, we validated that the MAPK/ERK pathway is involved in the pro-tumorigenic mechanism of PYGB in PC. Conclusion: Our results suggest that PYGB promotes PC cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, leading to poor patient prognosis. This study aims to develop fatty acid metabolism-related molecular subtypes and construct a fatty acid metabolism-related novel model for bladder cancer (BCa) by bioinformatic profiling. Genome RNA-seq expression data of BCa samples from the TCGA database and GEO database were downloaded. We then conducted consensus clustering analysis to identify fatty acid metabolism-related molecular subtypes for BCa. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis were performed to identify a novel prognostic fatty acid metabolism-related prognostic model for BCa. Finally, we identified a total of three fatty acid metabolism-related molecular subtypes for BCa. These three molecular subtypes have significantly different clinical characteristics, PD-L1 expression levels, and tumor microenvironments. Also, we developed a novel fatty acid metabolism-related prognostic model. Patients with low-risk score have significantly preferable overall survival compared with those with high-risk score in the training, testing, and validating cohorts. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) for overall survival prediction was 0.746, 0.681, and 0.680 in the training, testing and validating cohorts, respectively. This model was mainly suitable for male, older, high-grade, cluster 2–3, any TCGA stage, any N-stage, and any T-stage patients. Besides, we selected FASN as a hub gene for BCa and further qRT-PCR validation was successfully conducted. Purpose: To prospectively compare the uptake of 68Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen (68Ga-PSMA)-11 and 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) and investigate the correlation between radiological parameters and pathological features of UTUC. Methods: Clinicopathologic and imaging data were collected from 10 UTUC patients who underwent preoperative 68Ga-PSMA-11 and 18F-FDG PET/CT scans. The diagnostic capabilities of both imaging techniques were analyzed and compared in UTUC. Angiogenesis in the malignancies was assessed using Chalkley counting and the expression of folate hydrolase 1 (FOLH1) and glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1) in UTUC were evaluated in the surgical specimens. Double immunofluorescence staining of PSMA and CD34 was used to examine tumor neovascularization. Tracer uptake and expression were compared and explored. Additionally, 10 patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) were included for prospective, comparative research. Results: Ten UTUC patients with 12 malignant lesions and another 10 ccRCC patients were included. 18F-FDG PET/CT demonstrated a more effective detection of UTUC foci compared to 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT (the SUVmax of 18.48 ± 6.73 vs. 4.38 ± 1.45, P < 0.01). Immunohistochemical analysis revealed a statistically significant difference in the expression of PSMA and GLUT1 in UTUC (P = 0.048), with higher pathological grades showing more intense GLUT1 staining than PSMA (75% vs. 12.5%). The Chalkley counting of angiogenesis in ccRCC was significantly higher than that in UTUC (229.34 vs. 71.67), which was proportional to 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT SUVmax (both P < 0.05). Conclusion: 18F-FDG PET/CT holds better clinical potential for evaluating UTUC and detecting lymph node metastasis compared to 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, likely due to the relatively scant expression of FOLH1 in tumor neovascular endothelium while the abundant expression of GLUT1 in malignancy. Objective: To explore whether 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT-derived parameters could predict biochemical response to abiraterone acetate (AA) treatment and prognosis in metastatic prostate cancer patients developing castration resistance after chemohormonal therapy at hormone-sensitive stage. Methods: The clinicopathologic data of 106 mCRPC cases receiving AA treatment were retrospectively analyzed. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent predictors of biochemical response to AA treatment. Cox analyses were applied to investigate the independent prognostic factors for time to biochemical progression (TTBP) and radiological progression-free survival (rPFS). Survival analysis and ROC curve were also used. Results: Multivariable Logistic analysis demonstrated that prior ADT duration ≥ 12 months, low prostate specific membrane antigen receptor-expressing tumor volume (PSMA-TV), low tumor to liver ratio (TLR) were independent predictors of biochemical response to AA treatment. Multivariate Cox analysis demonstrated that low PSMA-TV and low TLR were independent prognostic factors of longer TTBP and rPFS. The TTBP and rPFS of patients with higher PSMA-TV or TLR were significantly decreased compared with that of patients with lower PSMA-TV and TLR. The area under ROC curve (AUC) of combining ADT duration, PSMA-TV and TLR was 0.82 for predicting biochemical response to AA, which was significantly increased compared with that of other 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT-derived parameters alone. Conclusions: Low PSMA-TV, low TLR were vital independent predictors of biochemical response to AA treatment and were associated with preferable prognosis in mCRPC patients. Atomically thin indium selenide (InSe) exhibits a sombrero-like valence band, leading to distinctive excitonic behaviors. It is known that the indirect band gap of atomically thin InSe leads to a weak emission from the lowest-energy excitonic state (A peak). However, the A peak emission of monolayer (ML) InSe was observed to be either absent or very weak, rendering the nature of its excitonic states largely unknown. Intriguingly, we demonstrate that ML InSe exhibits pronounced PL emission because of the efficient brightening of the momentum-indirect dark excitons. The mechanism is attributed to acoustic phonon-assisted radiative recombination facilitated by strong exciton-acoustic phonon coupling and extended wavefunction in momentum space. Systematic analysis of layer-, power-, and temperature-dependent PL demonstrates that a carrier localization model can account for the asymmetric line shape of the lowest-energy excitonic emission for atomically thin InSe. Our work reveals that atomically thin InSe is a promising platform for manipulating the tightly bound dark excitons in two-dimensional semiconductor-based optoelectronic devices. Hyoid bone excursion (HBE) is one of the most critical events in the pharyngeal phase of swallowing. Most previous studies focused on the total displacement and average velocity of HBE. However, HBE during swallowing is not one-dimensional, and the change of velocity and acceleration is not linear. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between the instantaneous kinematics parameters of HBE and the severity of penetration/aspiration and pharyngeal residue in patients with stroke. A total of 132 sets of video-fluoroscopic swallowing study images collected from 72 dysphagic stroke patients were analyzed. The maximal instantaneous velocity, acceleration, displacement, and the time required to reach these values in the horizontal and vertical axes were measured. Patients were grouped according to the severity of the Penetration-Aspiration Scale and the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile- Pharyngeal Residue. The outcome was then stratified according to the consistencies of swallowing materials. Stroke patients with aspiration were associated with a lower maximal horizontal instantaneous velocity and acceleration of HBE, a shorter horizontal displacement, and prolonged time to maximal vertical instantaneous velocity compared to the non-aspirators. In patients with pharyngeal residue, the maximal horizontal displacement of HBE was decreased. After stratification according to bolus consistencies, the temporal parameters of HBE were more significantly associated with aspiration severity when swallowing thin bolus. Meanwhile spatial parameters such as displacement had a bigger influence on aspiration severity when swallowing viscous bolus. Purpose: The optimal tool to evaluate the tumour therapeutic responses to neoadjuvant chemohormonal therapy (NCHT) in patients with high-risk non-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa) remains uncertain. We compared the role of [68Ga]-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-11 positron emission tomography/computerized tomography ([68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT), multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and assessed the practical value of the recent European Association of Urology and European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EAU/EANM) recommended criteria of PSMA PET/CT to evaluate the therapeutic responses to NCHT in patients with high-risk non-metastatic PCa. Methods: This prospective study included 72 high-risk non-metastatic PCa patients receiving NCHT followed by radical prostatectomy from June 2021 to March 2022. PSA testing, [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, and mpMRI scanning were conducted in all patients before and after NCHT. Therapeutic responses to NCHT were evaluated with PSA, RECIST 1.1, PERCIST 1.0, and EAU/EANM recommended criteria. Postoperative pathological results were considered the reference standard. A favourable pathological response was defined as pathologic complete remission (pCR) or minimal residual disease (MRD). Diagnostic accuracy was assessed by sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and Cohen's kappa index. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent predictive value of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT-derived parameters. Results: All cases experienced a marked decrease in PSA levels after NCHT. Twenty-four (33.33%) cases experienced a favourable pathological response, including five (6.94%) cases of pCR and 19 (26.39%) cases of MRD. According to the results of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, EAU/EANM recommended criteria indicated that 20 (27.78%) cases had a CR, whereas PERCIST 1.0 criteria indicated that 23 (31.94%) cases had a CR. There was a strong association between EAU/EANM recommended criteria and PERCIST 1.0 criteria (Pearson's R=0.857). The sensitivity (75.00%, 79.17% vs. 58.33%, 58.33%), specificity (95.83%, 91.67% vs. 83.33%, 68.75%), PLR (18.00, 9.50 vs. 3.50, 1.87), NLR (0.26, 0.23 vs. 0.50, 0.61), PPV (90.0%, 82.6% vs. 63.6%, 48.3%), and NPV (88.5%, 89.8% vs. 80.0%, 76.7%) of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT (including EAU/EANM recommended criteria and PERCIST 1.0 criteria) to predict favourable pathological responses were all superior to those of mpMRI and nadir PSA. The kappa index to predict a favourable pathological response was 0.257 for PSA, 0.426 for RECIST 1.1, 0.716 for PERCIST 1.0, and 0.739 for EAU/EANM recommended criteria. Multivariate logistic analysis revealed that the post-NCHT maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) before radical prostatectomy was an independent predictor of a favourable pathological response to NCHT. Conclusions: [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT had a better concordance with a favourable pathological response to NCHT compared with nadir PSA and mpMRI. EAU/EANM recommended criteria and PERCIST 1.0 criteria performed equally to identify pathological responders when [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT was used as a therapeutic response assessment tool. Farmland has become a significant contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and research has shown that the addition of straw or biochar may be a viable method for mitigating these emissions. However, there is a lack of understanding regarding the comparative biotic and abiotic effects of straw and biochar amendments on GHG emissions. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted a meta-analysis of 100 published papers to quantify the impact of straw and biochar application on GHG emissions. Our findings indicate that straw application significantly increased CO2 and CH4 emissions from agricultural ecosystems by 46.2% and 113.5%, respectively, but did not have a significant effect on N2O emissions. Conversely, biochar amendment significantly reduced CO2, CH4, and N2O emissions by an average of 11.0%, 31.7%, and 22.8%, respectively. We also found that straw and biochar amendments increased soil pH, soil organic carbon (SOC), and C/N ratio, and there were significant differences between them. Moreover, straw application significantly increased the microbial biomass carbon (MBC) content and microbial quotient by 37.1% and 20.1%, respectively, while biochar application increased the MBC content by 25.0% without a significant effect on the microbial quotient. Furthermore, both straw and biochar applications promoted the nitrification process and increased the abundance of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) by 50.7% with straw and by 57.5% and 75.1% with biochar for ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and AOB, respectively. The denitrification process was also stimulated by straw or biochar amendment, resulting in an increase in the abundance of nirK by 22.9% and 16.8%, respectively. Biochar amendment additionally increased the abundance of nosZ by 29.4%, indicating that the main reason for reducing N2O emissions through biochar application is the conversion of NO3−-N to N2. The die steel NAK80 is used in specular optical molds, deep drawing forming dies, and cold extrusion dies in large quantities; high strength and hardness often induce tool wear during machining. This study established a tool wear prediction method for measuring, using the cutting temperature and chip chromaticity characteristic values to predict the tool life. The back propagation neural network (BP-LM) was compared with a long-short term memory (LSTM) model in the prediction method, and different characteristic signals were imported into the BP-LM and LSTM methods to predict the tool wear. In Taylor's curve diagram, the repeatability accuracies of tool wear and cutting temperature are 2.83% and 9.29%, respectively. The BP-LM method was used for prediction in the comparison of prediction methods. When the input characteristic were temperature, chip chromaticity, and temperature and chip chromaticity, the MAPE percentage errors are 24.23%, 31.87%, and 19.88%, respectively. The error was reduced by 29% when the input characteristics were temperature and chip chromaticity. When the LSTM model was used for prediction, and the input characteristics were temperature, chip chromaticity, and temperature and chip chromaticity, the MAPE percentage errors are 30.33%, 28.55%, and 22.1%, respectively. The error was reduced by 25% when the input characteristics were temperature and chip chromaticity. Therefore, using the characteristic temperature and chip chromaticity in the BP-LM and LSTM prediction models resulted in good forecast accuracy, and a new model prediction form for tool life was provided. Coronary stent underexpansion is associated with restenosis and stent thrombosis. In clinical studies of atherosclerosis, high wall shear stress (WSS) has been associated with activation of prothrombotic pathways, upregulation of matrix metalloproteinases, and future myocardial infarction. We hypothesized that stent underexpansion is predictive of high WSS. WSS distribution was investigated in patients enrolled in the prospective randomized controlled study of angulated coronary arteries randomized to undergo percutaneous coronary intervention with R-ZES or X-EES. WSS was calculated from 3D reconstructions of arteries from intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and angiography using computational fluid dynamics. A logistic regression model investigated the relationship between WSS and underexpansion and the relationship between underexpansion and stent platform. Mean age was 63±11, 78% were male, 35% had diabetes, mean pre-stent angulation was 36.7°±14.7°. Underexpansion was assessed in 83 patients (6,181 IVUS frames). Frames with stent underexpansion were significantly more likely to exhibit high WSS (> 2.5 Pa) compared to those without underexpansion with an OR of 2.197 (95% CI = [1.233–3.913], p = 0.008). There was no significant association between underexpansion and low WSS (< 1.0 Pa) and no significant differences in underexpansion between R-ZES and X-EES. Breast cancer risk continues to increase post menopause. Anti-estrogen therapies are available to prevent postmenopausal breast cancer in high-risk women. However, their adverse effects have reduced acceptability and overall success in cancer prevention. Natural products such as hops (Humulus lupulus) and three pharmacopeial licorice (Glycyrrhiza) species have demonstrated estrogenic and chemopreventive properties, but little is known regarding their effects on aromatase expression and activity as well as pro-proliferation pathways in human breast tissue. We show that Gycyrrhiza inflata (GI) has the highest aromatase inhibition potency among these plant extracts. Moreover, phytoestrogens such as liquiritigenin which is common in all licorice species have potent aromatase inhibitory activity, which is further supported by computational docking of their structures in the binding pocket of aromatase. In addition, GI extract and liquiritigenin suppress aromatase expression in the breast tissue of high-risk postmenopausal women. Although liquiritigenin has estrogenic effects in vitro, with preferential activity through estrogen receptor (ER)-β, it reduces estradiol-induced uterine growth in vivo. It downregulates RNA translation, protein biosynthesis, and metabolism in high-risk women's breast tissue. Finally, it reduces the rate of MCF-7 cell proliferation, with repeated dosing. We study the systematic decomposition of the dimension nine neutron-antineutron oscillation operators at tree and one-loop levels. We discuss the topologies' generation and the assignment of the chiral quarks. The completed lists of the decompositions are provided. We furthermore show an example that the neutron-antineutron oscillation occurs at one-loop level, with the tiny neutrino mass being generated via the scotogenic model and proton decay being evaded. Purpose: To investigate the risk factors for postoperative lymphorrhea or/and lymphocele (PLL) in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP). Materials and Methods: The clinical data of 606 patients were retrospectively collected. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was utilized to identify the optimal cutoff value. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to screen the independent predictors of PLL. Results: Univariate analysis showed that nine factors differed between the PLL and non-PLL group. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that low preoperative fibrinogen level, extraperitoneal surgery, robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALRP), and hypoalbuminemia were risk factors and the use of fibrin glue was a protective factor. Correlation analysis showed that the scope of LN dissection (LND) and number of lymph nodes (LNs) dissected were positively correlated with PLL in the extraperitoneal approach, but were not significantly correlated with PLL in the transperitoneal approach. The use of fibrin glue was negatively associated with PLL in the overall procedure and the extraperitoneal approach, but not significantly so in the transperitoneal approach. Comparison of LNs clearance between the two surgical approaches revealed that the extent of LND and number of LNs dissected in the extraperitoneal approach were less than in the transperitoneal approach. Conclusion: During RALRP, more attention should be paid to fully clotting the broken end of lymphatic vessels. The use of fibrin glue could reduce the probability of PLL. There is scarce evidence about the surgeon learning curve of acute type A aortic dissection surgery and whether the optimal procedure number exists when training a cardiovascular surgeon. A total of 704 patients with acute type A aortic dissection surgery performed by 17 junior surgeons who can identify their first career surgery from January 1, 2005, to December 31, 2018, are included. The surgeon experience volume is defined as the cumulative number of acute type A aortic dissection surgery of the surgeon since January 1, 2005. The primary outcome was in-hospital mortality. The possibility of non-linearity and cutoffs for surgeon experience volume level was explored using a restricted cubic spline model. The results revealed that more surgeon experience volume is significantly correlated to a lower in-hospital mortality rate (r = − 0.58, P = 0.010). The RCS model shows for an operator who reaches 25 cumulative volumes of acute type A aortic dissection surgery, the average in-hospital mortality rate of the patients can be below 10%. Furthermore, the longer duration from the 1st to 25th operations of the surgeon is significantly correlated to a higher average in-hospital mortality rate of the patients (r = 0.61, p = 0.045). Acute type A aortic dissection surgery has a prominent learning curve in terms of improving clinical outcomes. Purpose: It is well-established that the lack of accurate diagnostic modalities for prostate cancer (PCa) leads to overdiagnosis and overtreatments. Accordingly, this study aimed to assess the value of urine-derived exosomal prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) as a biomarker for the diagnosis of PCa and clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). Methods: A total of 284 urine samples were collected from patients after the digital rectal examination (DRE). Urinary exosomes were extracted using commercial kits, and urine-derived exosomal PSMA was determined via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Evaluation of diagnostic accuracy of PSMA was performed via receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, decision curve analysis (DCA), and waterfall plots. Results: We found that urine-derived exosomal PSMA was significantly higher in PCa and csPCa than in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and BPH + non-aggressive prostate cancer (naPCa) groups (P < 0.001). Furthermore, the urine-derived exosome PSMA yielded area under the ROC curve (AUC) values of 0.876 and 0.826 for detecting PCa and csPCa, respectively, suggesting better performance than traditional clinical biomarkers. Besides, when the cutoff value used corresponded to a sensitivity of 95%, urine-derived exosomal PSMA could avoid unnecessary biopsies in 41.2% of cases and missed only 0.7% of csPCa cases. Conclusions: Urine-derived exosomal PSMA exhibits a good diagnostic yield for detecting PCa and csPCa. In this study, a zwitterionic polymer/liquid crystals composite film with programming shape-morphing behavior and humidityresponsive self-healing performance was prepared by blending a zwitterionic polymer and liquid crystalline azobenzene compound in solution, followed by film-forming in a mold without tedious or multistep synthetic route. The as-obtained zwitterionic polymer/liquid crystal composite film exhibited programming shape-morphing behavior under different stimuli. In this process, the temporary shape of the composite film was memorized after the removal of the stimuli. Such characteristics would fit the requirements of intelligence and energy-saving for stimuliresponsive shape-changing materials. Moreover, the composite film showed humidity-responsive self-healing performances under wet conditions at room temperature. In summary, the simple design and preparation route of the zwitterionic polymer/liquid crystal composite film with programming shape-morphing behavior and mild condition-responsive self-healing performance look promising for the fabrication and practical application of novel photo-driven devices and soft robotics. Compared with that of the transition metal mixed oxide pellet catalyst, the catalytic activity of the supported mixed oxide catalyst was significantly reduced, which was limited in practical industrial applications. In this work, supported Cu-Mn-Ce mixed oxide catalysts were prepared by non-thermal plasma. Catalyst characterization result demonstrated that plasma treatment could promote the proportion of oxygen vacancy and enhance the adsorptive strength of VOCs on the surface of catalyst. Meanwhile, plasma treatment process exerted a slight influence on the pore structure and morphological property of the catalyst. Consequently, CMC/SiO2–P exhibited much higher catalytic activity than CMC/SiO2 prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method for the catalytic oxidation of toluene and n-hexane. Among the catalysts prepared, the 15%CMC/SiO2–P catalyst even exhibited a high catalytic activity comparable to that of the supported noble metal catalyst for the oxidation of the inert hexane. The T98 of toluene and n-hexane over 15%CMC/SiO2–P was 260 and 280°C under the conditions of VOC concentration at 1000 ppm and WHSV at 20,000 mL·g−1·h−1, respectively. We aimed to explore whether superfluous sympathetic activity affects myoblast differentiation, fusion, and myofiber types using a continuous single-dose isoprenaline exposure model in vitro and to further confirm the role of distinct NFATs in ISO-mediated effects. Compared with delivery of single and interval single, continuous single-dose ISO most obviously diminished myotube size while postponing myoblast differentiation/fusion in a time- and dose-dependent pattern, accompanied by an apparent decrease in nuclear NFATc1/c2 levels and a slight increase in nuclear NFATc3/c4 levels. Overexpression of NFATc1 or NFATc2, particularly NFATc1, markedly abolished the inhibitory effects of ISO on myoblast differentiation/fusion, myotube size and Myh7 expression, which was attributed to a remarkable increase in the nuclear NFATc1/c2 levels and a reduction in the nuclear NFATc4 levels and the associated increase in the numbers of MyoG and MEF2C positive nuclei within more than 3 nuclei myotubes, especially in MEF2C. Moreover, knockdown of NFATc3 by shRNA did not alter the inhibitory effect of ISO on myoblast differentiation/fusion or myotube size but partially recovered the expression of Myh7, which was related to the slightly increased nuclear levels of NFATc1/c2, MyoG and MEF2C. Knockdown of NFATc4 by shRNA prominently increased the number of MyHC +, MyoG or MEF2C + myoblast cells with 1 ~ 2 nuclei, causing fewer numbers and smaller myotube sizes. However, NFATc4 knockdown further deteriorated the effects of ISO on myoblast fusion and myotube size, with more than 5 nuclei and Myh1/2/4 expression, which was associated with a decrease in nuclear NFATc2/c3 levels. The rigid tapping function of the CNC machine tool can manufacture thread rapidly and aims at a short tapping time and a small synchronization error. A small synchronization error represents high accuracy and long tool life, but a short tapping time influences the accuracy. Therefore, the objective of this study was to use fixed synchronization errors to obtain the shortest machining time. In the parameter adjustment process of this study, the frequency response was adjusted for the Z-axis at first, and the resonance frequency was eliminated from three filtering parameters, namely, frequency, bandwidth, and damping. Moreover, the value of position gain was increased by enhancing the speed gain, and the frequency response was adjusted to the optimum condition. The response surface methodology was used to analyze the influence of variable factors on rigid tapping, and the significant and nonsignificant factors. The significant factors include the position gain and acceleration/deceleration time constant. After the prediction model equation was created, the optimum parameter setting could be found. When the machine tool was taken back for cutting verification, the synchronization error was reduced by 621 pulse (92%), the tapping time was shortened by 2 s (7.7%), and the accuracy of dimensional difference was increased by 0.216 mm (26%). In this article, we first establish an asymptotically sharp Koebe type covering theorem for harmonic K-quasiconformal mappings. Then we use it to obtain an asymptotically Koebe type distortion theorem, a coefficients estimate, a Lipschitz characteristic and a linear measure distortion theorem of harmonic K-quasiconformal mappings. We extend the contents of the standard model (SM) by introducing TeV-scale scalar leptoquarks to generate neutrino masses and explain some current observed deviations from the SM predictions, including the anomalous magnetic moments of charged leptons (electron and muon) and B-physics anomalies ( R K (∗) and R D (∗) ). The model consists of SU (2) L singlet leptoquark S 1 ∼ (3 ¯ , 1 , 1 / 3) , doublet leptoquark R ~ 2 ∼ (3 , 2 , 1 / 6) and triplet leptoquark S 3 ∼ (3 ¯ , 3 , 1 / 3) . We combine the constraints arising from the low-energy lepton flavor violation, meson decay and mixing observables. We perform a detailed phenomenological analysis and identify the minimized texture of leptoquark Yukawa matrices to accommodate a unified explanation of the anomalies and neutrino oscillation data. A two-step method based on polyethylene glycol (PEG)-coated nanoscale hydroxyapatite (nHA) was used to form a catalpol (CTP)-loaded delivery system (PEG-nHA/CTP). PEG-nHA/CTP showed a drug-loading ratio of 18.75 ± 0.89% on CTP. In vitro release showed that PEG-nHA/CTP could continuously release CTP for 552 h. The cell proliferation assay showed that PEG-nHA/CTP could promote the proliferation of MC3T3-E1. The alkaline phosphatase assay and alizarin red staining showed that PEG-nHA/CTP could increase the secretion of alkaline phosphatase and formation of mineralized nodules. The hard-to-cut material nickel-base Inconel-718 is used in large quantities in the aerospace industry and defense industry because the Inconel-718 has good mechanical strength at high temperatures, but the tool is likely to wear in the cutting processes. In this study, chip color and features were employed to predict tool lives because the chips are the closest to the cutting tool in the shear zone during the cutting processes, which can more authentically reflect the phenomenon of tool wear. The changes in chip color and geometric shape were extracted and digitized, and the prediction method employed a two-stage model. In Stage 1, a convolutional neural network (CNN) was used for chip condition classification and validation, and in Stage 2, back propagation neural network (BP) was employed to predict the tool wear. The result showed that when the Google-Net and ResNet50 network models were adopted for CNN chip feature recognition, with the confusion matrix of multi-classification for validation, the recognition precisions were 66.7% and 88.9%, respectively. The modeling and prediction were performed in the BP neural network; the chip chromaticity, chip thickness, and chip width were employed as input features, and the precision was enhanced by multi-fusion features. Finally, the mean absolute percentage error values for heavy cutting were 17.11%, medium cutting at 5.45%, and small cutting at 9.02%, indicating that the CNN-BP prediction model has good forecast accuracy, thus providing a new model prediction form for tool life. Core fucosylation of N-linked glycoproteins has been linked to the functions of glycoproteins in physiological and pathological processes. However, quantitative characterization of core fucosylation remains challenging due to the complexity and heterogeneity of N-linked glycosylation. Here we report a mass spectrometry-based method that employs sequential treatment of intact glycopeptides with enzymes (STAGE) to analyze site-specific core fucosylation of glycoproteins. The STAGE method utilizes Endo F3 followed by PNGase F treatment to generate mass signatures for glycosites that are formerly modified by core fucosylated N-linked glycans. We benchmark the STAGE method and use it to characterize site specific core fucosylation of glycoproteins from human hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, resulting in the identification of 1130 and 782 core fucosylated glycosites, respectively. These results indicate that our STAGE method enables quantitative characterization of core fucosylation events from complex protein mixtures, which may benefit our understanding of core fucosylation functions in various diseases. In recent years, many machining applications have used dry cutting for high-speed cutting, for which, tool life prediction and research are important issues. In this study, a tungsten carbide tool cutting steel SKD61 was used, and the actual value of the chip shooting and the wear of the flank were determined using an industrial camera. The chip type and chip color are also discussed. After color calibration and chromaticity conversion, the model was trained through the neural network and the results were predicted. The tool wear curve and the theoretical curve were found to be closely related, and the chip color changed regularly. In the CIE XY chromaticity coordinate value, when the initial cutting was observed, the chip chromaticity coordinate point range was small, but as the wear amount increased, the chip chromaticity coordinate point range expanded gradually. The tool wear prediction established in this study was determined from the experimental results. The maximum errors of the test and verification were 0.031 mm and 0.022 mm. After calculation, the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) was within 3 % and the accuracy level is MAPE is less than 10 %, so it has a high accurate prediction ability. Vascular calcification occurs in arterial aging, atherosclerosis, diabetes mellitus, and chronic kidney disease. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) is a key modulator driving the osteogenic transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), leading to vascular calcification. We hypothesize that milk fat globule–epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG-E8), a glycoprotein expressed in VSMCs, promotes the osteogenic transdifferentiation of VSMCs through the activation of TGF-β1-mediated signaling. We observe that the genetic deletion of MFG-E8 prevents calcium chloride-induced vascular calcification in common carotid arteries (CCAs). The exogenous application of MFG-E8 to aged CCAs promotes arterial wall calcification. MFG-E8-deficient cultured VSMCs exhibit decreased biomineralization and phenotypic transformation to osteoblast-like cells in response to osteogenic medium. MFG-E8 promotes β1 integrin–dependent MMP2 expression, causing TGF-β1 activation and subsequent VSMC osteogenic transdifferentiation and biomineralization. Thus, the established molecular link between MFG-E8 and vascular calcification suggests that MFG-E8 can be therapeutically targeted to mitigate vascular calcification. A molecular link between the milk fat globule–epidermal growth factor 8 (MFG-E8), activation of vascular calcification driver TGF-β1 and osteogenic differentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells suggests that MFG-E8 could be a therapeutic target for vascular calcification. This study evaluated the risk of major bleeding associated with concomitant use of direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) and anticancer drugs (ACDs), which share metabolic pathways, in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and cancer. We performed a retrospective cohort study using Taiwan's National Health Insurance database and included patients with AF and cancer who received DOAC prescriptions from 1 to 2012 to 31 December 2017. The incidence of major bleeding in person-quarters with concomitant use of DOAC and any of 15 ACDs with inhibitory or competitive effects of CYP3A4 or P-gp activity (docetaxel, vinorelbine, methotrexate, irinotecan, etoposide, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, imatinib, nilotinib, abiraterone, bicalutamide, tamoxifen, anastrozole, cyclosporine, tacrolimus) was compared with that in person-quarters with DOAC alone. Adjusted incidence-rate differences between DOAC use with and without concurrent ACDs were estimated using Poisson regression models weighted by the inverse probability of treatment. In 13,158 patients with AF and cancer (76.9 ± 8.9 years; male 60%), 1545 major bleeding events occurred during 90,540 DOAC-exposed person-quarters. Concurrent use of DOAC and any of 15 ACDs occurred in only 18% of patients. Compared with use of DOAC alone, concomitant use of DOAC and these ACDs was not associated with an increased risk of major bleeding. Co-medication with DOAC and ACDs with inhibitory or competitive effects on CYP3A4 or P-gp activity was not associated with a higher risk of major bleeding than DOAC alone. No study has evaluated the effect of dexmedetomidine in patients who received surgery for type A aortic dissection. This is the first study to evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine in aortic dissection patients. This study was executed using data from the Chang Gung Research Database in Taiwan. The CGRD contains the multi‐institutional standardized electronic medical records from seven Chang Gung Memorial hospitals, the largest medical system in Taiwan. We retrospectively evaluate patients who received surgery for acute type A aortic dissection between January 2014 and December 2018. Overall, 511 patients were included, of whom 104 has received dexmedetomidine infusion in the postoperative period. One-to-two propensity score-matching yielded 86 cases in the dexmedetomidine group and 158 cases in the non-dexmedetomidine group. The in-hospital mortality and composite outcome including all-cause mortality, acute kidney injury, delirium, postoperative atrial fibrillation, and respiratory failure, were considered primary outcomes. The in-hospital mortality and composite outcome were similar between groups. The risk of Acute Kidney Injury Network stage 3 acute kidney injury was significantly lower in the dexmedetomidine group than in the non-dexmedetomidine group (8.1% vs 19.0%; OR, 0.38; 95% CI, 0.17–0.86; p = 0.020. The risk of newly-onset dialysis was also significantly lower in the dexmedetomidine group than in the non-dexmedetomidine group (4.7% vs 13.3%; OR, 0.32; 95% CI, 0.11–0.90; p = 0.031). Post-operative dexmedetomidine infusion significantly reduced the rate of severe acute kidney injury and newly-onset dialysis in patients who received surgery for acute type A aortic dissection.
