- Abstract
This paper describes a novel robotic system which aims on supporting the mobility of elderly citizens and persons with disabilities. The key innovation of this research project is the use of the concept of ˵Modular Mobility″. According to this concept the system consists of a mobile (robotic) platform as core system and several dedicated ˵application modules″. On demand the platform is being assigned to a particular task and automatically connects to an appropriate application module in order to accomplish the given task. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
