Argentina has the second highest mortality rate for breast cancer (BC) in South America. The age-standardized incidence of BC in Argentina is 73 per 100,000. Despite the availability of early detection services, 30% of BCs are diagnosed at advanced disease stages. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) of Argentina and the National Program for Control of Breast Cancer (NPCBC) focus on two main objectives: guaranteeing adequate and timely BC treatment and reducing BC mortality in Argentina. These objectives are addressed by maintaining three core concepts: quality control, disease monitoring, and wide coverage of available early detection and treatment services. The NPCBC is currently implementing the "Time 1 Survey Study." Time 1 is defined as the time from the first appearance of BC signs or symptoms to the first consult within the public healthcare system. This timeframe is important in Argentina because it is outside of the health timeframes and data parameters monitored by the national cancer data registry system. The Time 1 Survey study has the potential to serve as an informational tool for BC patient navigation efforts in Argentina because it can be used to identify and characterize the barriers and delays that women face during Time 1. Lessons and experiences included in this study could be translated to other Latin American and middle-income countries for developing cancer control programs that can lead to improving treatment and reducing mortality through patient navigation and cancer education efforts for the public, health professionals, and patients. In this study, we aimed at describing the multivisceral involvement on adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) to retrieve imaging-based differences in patients with and without macrophage activation syndrome (MAS). From our historical cohort, patients were assessed among those who underwent a total body CT scan. Clinical and CT scan characteristics of AOSD patients with and without MAS were compared. Out of 39 AOSD patients evaluated, 14 were complicated by MAS. These patients showed higher values of ferritin and systemic score. AOSD patients with MAS presented a higher prevalence of lung disease, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, abdominal effusions, and lymph node enlargement than others without this complication. In addition, the presence of these manifestations significantly correlated with the systemic score, furtherly reinforcing its prognostic value. Due to the specific design of our study, our findings could be burdened by a selection bias since assessing those patients underwent a total body CT scan. Thus, these data should be prudently generalised suggesting the need of further studies to fully elucidate this issue. Our findings showed a higher prevalence of multiorgan involvement in AOSD patients with MAS, suggesting imaging-based differences, although other studies are needed to fully assess this issue. Pulmonary disease, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, lymph node enlargement, and abdominal effusions were associated with a more aggressive subset of AOSD. Rosai–Dorfman disease (RDD) is a rare, benign, non-Langerhans cells histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy of uncertain aetiology. It is commonly characterized by massive, painless, non-tender, bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy. Extra-nodal involvement is usually seen in 50% of patients, with the brain being affected in only 5% of cases, usually as dural-based lesions. Clinical presentation is heterogeneous and strongly dependent on the localization of the lesions. Although the histopathological findings are essential for the final diagnosis, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) currently represents the first-line strategy for the detection of the lesions across the central nervous system (CNS); moreover, it may provide additional elements for the differential diagnosis versus other more common lesions. We performed a case-based literature review to highlight possible aetiologic and pathogenetic theories of this disease, along with imaging features of RDD, with a particular focus on the MRI characteristics of the CNS involvement (CNS–RDD). Purpose: To compare the impact of a 100 kV tube voltage protocol to 120 kV in terms of image quality and radiation dose by a 320 row coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) with automatic exposure control (AEC). Materials and methods: Using a propensity matched analysis we compared a group of 135 patients scanned using a 100 kV tube voltage protocol with a group of 135 subjects scanned employing a 120 kV tube voltage setting. In all subjects the heart rate (HR) was <65 bpm and all CT scans were acquired using a prospective ECG gating and AEC strategy. Mean effective radiation dose and subjective and objective (Noise or N, signal to noise ratio or SNR, contrast to noise ratio or CNR) image quality, were evaluated. Subjective quality was assessed by two experienced radiologists using a 5-point scale (0: non diagnostic-4: excellent) using the 15-segment American Heart Association (AHA) coronary artery classification. Results: Mean effective dose and noise were non significantly different between the two groups: mean effective dose was 2.89 ± 0.7 mSv in the 100 kV group and 2.80 ± 0.57 mSv in the 120 kV group ( p = 0.25) while noise was 28.9 ± 3.3 in the 120 kV group and 29.05 ± 3.6 in the 100 kV group ( p = 0.72). Both SNR and CNR were significantly higher in the 100 kV group than in the 120 kV group. This data agrees with the evidence that subjective quality was significantly higher in the 100 kV group in the middle and distal segmental classes. Conclusion: Our study shows that, in using a 320 row CCTA with AEC strategy it is better to employ a 100 kV tube voltage protocol because compared to 120 kV tube voltage setting, it appears to significantly improve both subjective and objective image quality without decreasing the mean effective radiation dose.
