Background: The lack of randomized evidence makes it difficult to establish reliable treatment recommendations for patients with M2 occlusion. This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of endovascular treatment (EVT) with best medical management (BMM) in patients with M2 occlusion, and to investigate whether the optimal treatment varies according to stroke severity. Methods: Comprehensive literature retrieval was conducted to identify studies that directly compared the outcomes of EVT and BMM. According to stroke severity, the study population were classified into those with moderate-severe stroke and those with mild stroke. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores ≥ 6 was defined as moderate-severe stroke, and NIHSS scores 0–5 as mild stroke. Random-effects meta-analyses were performed to measure the symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) within 72 h, and the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores 0–2 and the mortality at 90 days. Results: Totally, 20 studies were identified, including 4358 patients. In the moderate-severe stroke population, the EVT had 82% higher odds for mRS scores 0–2 (OR 1.82, 95% CI 1.34–2.49) and a 43% lower odds for mortality (OR 0.57, 95% CI 0.39–0.82) compared with the BMM. However, no difference was found in the sICH rate (OR 0.88, 95% CI 0.44–1.77). In the mild stroke population, no differences were observed in the mRS scores 0–2 (OR 0.81, 95% CI 0.59–1.10) or mortality (OR 1.23, 95% CI 0.72–2.10) between EVT and BMM, whereas EVT was associated with higher sICH rate (OR 4.21, 95% CI 1.86–9.49). Conclusion: EVT may be only beneficial for patients with M2 occlusion and high stroke severity, but not for those with NIHSS scores 0–5. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Structure is used more extensively used in program such as scientific computing. But the non-continuity and the non-aligment of vectorization structure array have a dramatic influence on the efficiency of program's vectorizaton. To reduce the access to these addresses during the SIMD vectorization, a structure peeling model is proposed based on the structure which combines domain access affinity and domain data type. At the same time, to meet t the requirement of memory access continuity and alignment in the vectorization of structured array, an address conversion method is proposed which structure arrays are mapped one by one map to two-dimensional arrays, further reducing the failure rate of cache. By using the test suites of gcc_vec, spec2000 and spec2006, the experimental results on the compiler of automatic vector show that the performance of optimized method can be improved by more than 8%. In the design of offshore jack-up rigs, it is commonly assumed that the lattice legs have no effect on the fixity and other foundation behavior of the spudcan, presumably because the opening ratio of lattice legs is typically quite large. This paper describes a centrifuge experimental study to explore the effect of lattice legs on spudcan fixity under cyclic loading. The modeling equipment is first described. A novel feature of this equipment is its ability to maintain a constant holding vertical loading on the spudcan leg while subjecting the latter to rocking over many cycles. The centrifuge model results and discussion presented show that the presence and configuration of the lattice leg has a significant influence on spudcan foundation behavior in several different aspects. The effect is most significantly manifested in the fixity and bending moment. The fixity of the entire spudcan foundation is increased substantially by the presence of the lattice. The bending moment at the spudcan-lattice connection is also reduced by the lattice leg, with the maximum moment occurring slightly above the spudcan. Here, we report the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of the daimyo oak, Quercus dentata Thunb. The genome is 161,250 bp in size with a GC content of 36.83% and contains 134 genes (86 protein-coding genes, 40 tRNA genes, eight rRNA genes). The large single-copy region and small single-copy region in the cp genome contain 90,560 bp and 19,036 bp, respectively, while the inverted repeat region is 25,827 bp in length. The phylogenetic analyses based on the whole cp genome sequence provided a solid evidence that Q. dentata has a close relationship with Q. aliena. The presence of two subgenus, Quercus and Cyclobalanopsis, in Quercus was uncovered in the phylogenetic analyses. The cp genome presented here will provide useful information for the phylogenetic and evolutionary studies of Quercus species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Novel small-molecule polysaccharide fractions, named POP II and POP III, were purified from Portulaca oleracea L. with average Mw values of 9.25 and 8.03 kDa, respectively. Monosaccharide analysis revealed that POP II was composed of Rha, Ara, Man, Glc, and Gal with molar ratios of 1: 1.42: 0.44: 0.88: 1.59. POP III was composed of Rha, Ara, Glc, and Gal with molar ratios of 1: 1.16: 0.23: 0.59. The antioxidant activities of the fractions were evaluated using cell-free and cell-mediated radical generating systems. POPII and POP III possessed strong antioxidant activities in both systems. The 2 novel polysaccharide fractions extracted from P. oleracea L. can be developed as natural antioxidants for treatment of free radical-related diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cubic boron nitride(c-BN) was synthesized through benzene thermal method at a lower temperature of 300 °C by selecting liquid (C2H5)2O · BF3 and Li3N as reactants. Hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) and orthorhombic boron nitride(o-BN) were also obtained. The samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffractometry and Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy. The results show that all the BF3, BCl3 and BBr3 in the same family compounds can react with Li3N to synthesize BN since the strongest bond of B-F can be broken. Compared with BBr3, liquid (C2H5)2O · BF3 is cheaper, less toxic and more convenient to operate. Li3N not only provides nitrogen source but also has catalytic effect on accelerating the formation of c-BN at low temperature and pressure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Proof of concept was obtained that nitrobenzene can be reduced to aniline by a mixed reductive microbial culture using H2 as the sole electron donor source. In a continuous-flow anaerobic bioreactor, both pH and temperature affected nitrobenzene reduction with optima of pH 6.5–6.8 and 30 °C. The efficiency of nitrobenzene degradation increased with H2 up to 10% (v/v). An increase in sulfate concentration decreased the removal rate of nitrobenzene. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established for simultaneous determination of geniposidic acid, chlorogenic acid and geniposide in eucommia. Detection at 240 nm with a reversed-phase column, CH3OH volume fraction, acidic additive and pH value of mobile phase were studied for their effects on the separability of the compounds. The most suitable separation was obtained with isocratic gradient elution system using CH3OH-H2O-H3PO4 (12.00 : 87.96 : 0.04, volume ratio) at a flow-rate of 1.0 mL/min. Under the experimental conditions, the capacity factors of three compounds are in 3–13. The sample is separated rightly. The analysis time is 30 min and the retention time of geniposidic acid, chlorogenic acid and geniposide are 6.7 min, 10.5 min and 21 min, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper submits a method to calculate thermal deformation and manufacture error in surface grinding. The author established a simplified temperature field model, and derived the thermal deformation of the ground workpiece. It is found that there exists not only a upwarp thermal deformation, but also a parallel expansion thermal deformation. A upwarp thermal deformation causes a concave shape error on the profile of the workpiece, and a parallel expansion thermal deformation causes a dimension error in height. A semi-analytical method was proposed to solve the mechanics problem of stamping a sheet on elastic die. The sheet was divided into four parts according to its deformation and contact with the punch and elastic die. Analytical solutions were derived individually for each part by using elastic large deflection and plastic large deformation. Solutions were found out with MATLAB by developing a numerical algorithm. Interface forces were obtained by iteration under the compatibility conditions between the neighboring parts of the sheet. Computation shows the method is efficient. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The prothoracic gland (PG) is an important endocrine organ of synthesis and secretion of ecdysteroids that play critical roles in insects. Here, we used a comparative transcriptomic approach to characterize some common features of PGs from two lepidopteran species Bombyx mori and Antheraea pernyi. Functional and pathway annotations revealed an overall similarity in gene profile between the two PG transcriptomes. As expected, almost all steroid hormone biosynthesis genes and the prothoracicitropic hormone receptor gene (Torso) were well represented in the two PGs. Impressively, two ecdysone receptor genes, eleven juvenile hormone related genes, more than 10 chemosensory protein genes, and a set of genes involved in circadian clock were also presented in the two PGs. Quantitative real time -PCR (qRT-PCR) validated the expression of 8 juvenile hormone and 12 clock related genes in B. mori PG, and revealed a different expression pattern during development in whole fifth larval instar.
