Paclitaxel (PTX), methotrexate (MTX), and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) are commonly-used small molecule anti-tumor drugs for breast cancer. Unfortunately, drug resistance occurs with long-term treatment or excessive use, and the high concentrations of PTX, MTX, and 5-FU in patients may lead to side effects with dose-limiting toxicities, such as myelosuppression, hepatotoxicity, and peripheral neuropathy. Therefore, concentration monitoring of PTX, MTX, and 5-FU in clinical treatment is very important. We prepared highly sensitive and specific monoclonal antibodies using several haptens, and established a multiple paper-based sensor utilizing optical signals of gold nanoparticles, which simultaneously detected PTX, MTX, and 5-FU in human plasma or urine with 10 min. A portable scanner for quantitative detection in plasma and urine samples was used, and the calculated limit of detection (cLOD) values were 0.002 and 0.142 µg/mL for PTX, 0.187 and 0.976 ng/mL for MTX, and 0.057 and 0.128 µg/mL for 5-FU, respectively. In the recovery test, the recovery rates and the coefficient of variation were 85.84%–108.81% and 1.23%–8.80%, respectively, indicating the reliability and accuracy of the multiple gold immunochromatographic strip (GIS). In addition, for the determination of collected clinical plasma samples, the correlation between the test data of the multiple GIS and liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) was good. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is an important biomarker for detection and treatment of breast cancer. In this study, we developed monoclonal antibodies against the extracellular domain (ECD) of HER2 and established a rapid and accurate lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) for use in community medical institutions. The gene sequence of human HER2-ECD was obtained from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) to construct the expression plasmid. HER2-ECD protein expressed in HEK293F cells was used to immunize BALB/c mice. The monoclonal antibodies were produced in mouse ascites and isolated by hybridoma cell screening. Antibodies were analyzed for purity by SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel-electrophoresis) and affinity was assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) while subtypes were detected using the commercial kits. The HER2-ECD test strip was prepared based on the sandwich method and evaluated using a portable detection instrument. The affinity of the paired antibodies, 4D8 and 8D9, both reached 1 × 108 L/mol. Both antibodies specifically recognized the HER2-ECD protein in serum. The limit of detection (LOD) of the gold nanoparticle (AuNP)-based LFIA was 1.7 ng/mL with a detection range of 1.7–400 ng/mL, and the performance of the HER2-ECD strip correlated well with that of a Siemens chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) kit. In conclusion, the paired antibodies were successfully prepared with high affinity and specificity. The AuNP-based LFIA of HER2-ECD provides a fast and accurate method to detect the concentration of HER2-ECD in serum samples for clinical use in community medical institutions, and could contribute to determining the progress of the disease or the effectiveness of treatment. Herbicide residues in agricultural products can have adverse effects on the environment and human health, therefore, there is an urgent need to establish a sensitive, rapid, and wide-ranging detection method. In this study, haptens of phenylurea herbicides (PUs) and sulfonylurea herbicides (SUs) were analyzed and designed based on computational simulation techniques, and two high-performance broad-spectrum monoclonal antibodies against PUs and SUs were prepared. On this basis, a multi-colloidal gold immunochromatography assay (multi-CGIA) was developed to simultaneously detect 13 herbicides in wheat. The visual limit of detection (vLOD) for PUs including diuron, chlortoluron, neburon, chlorbromuron, and linuron was 1–2 µg/kg. The vLOD for SUs including metsulfuron methyl, ethametsulfuron-methyl, sulfometuron-methyl, tribenuron methyl, cinosulfuron, triasulfuron, chlorimuron-ethyl, and chlorsulfuron was 2–10 µg/kg. Background: Incisional double-eyelid blepharoplasty is the main surgical technique to obtain an artificial crease. Postoperative complications decrease patients' satisfaction, and patients with prominent depressed groove and persistent pretarsal swelling (sausage phenomenon) usually need revision surgery. To resolve the sausage phenomenon after blepharoplasty, we adopt Outer Fascia of Orbicularis Oculi Muscle (OFOOM)-Orbicularis (OOM)-Aponeurosis Fixation Approach to create natural double eyelids. Methods: We included 68 patients in the study. The inclusion criteria for revision surgery were as follows: (1) pretarsal OOM remained after primary surgery, (2) prominent depressed surgical scar/groove and persistent pretarsal bulge (sausage phenomenon), (3) postsurgical abnormally wide crease. The surgical procedure involved releasing the pretarsal OOM, forming OFOOM-OOM flap, and OFOOM-OOM flap fixed with aponeurosis. Outcome observations were assessed using the FACE-Q questionnaire, and the follow-up period ranged from 6 to 36 months (mean=18 months). Results: The depressed groove and pretarsal bulge showed significant improvements, and FACE-Q scores of the 68 patients before surgery (mean scores=66) compared with those after surgery (mean scores=90) were significantly different (P<0.01). Four patients with palpebral fold asymmetry and two patients with shallow eyelids received revision surgery, and patients were satisfied with the secondary surgery effects. Six patients presented with unnatural curves of folds and revision surgery alleviated these situations. Conclusions: Outer Fascia of Orbicularis Oculi Muscle (OFOOM)-Orbicularis (OOM)-Aponeurosis Fixation Approach is an effective way to resolve the sausage phenomenon. In the face of rising global energy demand, phase change materials (PCMs) have become a research hotspot in recent years due to their good thermal energy storage capacity. Single PCMs suffer from defects such as easy leakage when melting, poor thermal conductivity and cycling stability, which are not conducive to heat storage. Therefore, composite PCMs are gaining more and more attention for future applications. Due to the unique physicochemical properties of nanomaterials, it was found that composites of nanomaterials and PCMs can reduce supercooling, suppress phase separation, and improve thermal conductivity and cycle stability. The nano-enhanced PCMs have great applications in the field of phase change energy storage. Although many studies have been reported on nano-enhanced PCMs, there has been no systematic summary of nano-enhanced PCMs so far. This article focuses on improving the thermal performance of PCMs by the types and properties of nano-additives. In this review, the latest research progress on PCMs enhanced by nanomaterials was summarized, ranging from the variety of nanomaterials, the synthesis of nanocomposite PCMs, the effect of nanomaterials on the thermal conductivity of PCMs, and the application of nanocomposite PCMs. This work provides reference value for the future application of nano-enhanced PCMs and is beneficial to expand the applications of nanomaterials in the field of phase change energy storage materials. Anesthetic residues in fish represent a potential risk to human health. Therefore, it is important to develop a sensitive and broad-specific method for the detection of anesthetics. In this study, we developed a colloidal gold-based quadruplex immunochromatographic (Qua-ICS) assay using four highly sensitive monoclonal antibody immunotherapy (mAbs) that simultaneously detected 11 anesthetic residues in fish within 10 min. The colorimetric and cut-off values (COVs) for procaines, eugenols, bupivacaines, and tricaine (TMS) were 0.37–1.1 and 3.3–10, 11–222 and 100–2000, 0.37 and 3.3, and 111 and 10,000 µg/kg, respectively. Quantitative analysis was achieved with a portable strip-reader, and the detection ranges were 0.15–2.6, 6.3–677, 0.13–2.8, and 83–1245 µg/kg for procaines, eugenols, bupivacaines, and tricaine, respectively. Our developed method was reliable and accurate according to the recovery test results and analyses of real samples. Inorganic hydrated salt calcium chloride hexahydrate (CaCl2·6H2O) has a broad application prospect in the field of phase change energy storage due to its own characteristics. However, it has some problems such as large supercooling and serious phase separation, which limit its practical application. In this paper, boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) were applied in the CaCl2·6H2O system. It was found that the heterogeneous nucleation of CaCl2·6H2O can take place on the surface of BNNS. BNNS can solve the supercooling and heat transfer problems of CaCl2·6H2O effectively. At the same time, the addition of an appropriate amount of BNNSs can improve the stability of phase change composites. Compared with pure CaCl2·6H2O (supercooling was 22.06 °C and thermal conductivity was 0.382 W·m−1·K−1), the supercooling of CaCl2·6H2O/1 wt% BNNS composite was only 3.89 °C and the thermal conductivity was 3.918 W·m−1·K−1. CaCl2·6H2O/0.5 wt% BNNS composite has good cycling stability. This study has scientific significance for the development and application of BNNSs in the field of phase change energy storage. Supercontinuum white laser with large bandwidth and high pulse energy would offer incredible versatility and opportunities for basic science and high technology applications. Here, we report the generation of high-efficiency 2.8-octave-spanning ultraviolet-visible-infrared (UV-Vis-IR) (with 350-2500 nm 25 dB bandwidth) supercontinuum white laser from a single chirped periodically poled lithium niobate (CPPLN) nonlinear crystal via synergic high-harmonic generation (HHG) and self-phase modulation (SPM). The CPPLN exhibits multiple controllable reciprocal-lattice bands to simultaneously support the quasi-phase matching (QPM) for simultaneous broadband 2nd-10th HHG via cascaded three-wave mixing against a broadband fundamental pump laser. Due to the efficient second-order nonlinearity (2nd-NL) up-conversion and significant 3rd-NL SPM effect both in the pump and HHG laser pulses, 350-2500 nm supercontinuum white laser is eventually obtained with 17 μJ per pulse under pump of 45 μJ per pulse mid-infrared femtosecond laser corresponding to an average high conversion efficiency of 37%. Our work opens up a route towards creating UV-Vis-IR all-spectrum white lasers through engineering the synergic action of HHG and SPM effects in nonlinear crystals for applications in ultrafast spectroscopy, single-shot remote sensing, biological imaging, and so on. The Zengmu and Beikang Basins, separated by the West Baram Line (WBL) in the southwestern South China Sea margin, display distinct geological and geophysical features. However, the nature of the basins and the WBL are debated. Here we explore this issue by conducting the stratigraphic and structural interpretation, faults and subsidence analysis, and lithospheric finite extension modelling using seismic data. Results show that the WBL is a trans-extensional fault zone comprising normal faults and flower structures mainly active in the Late Eocene to Early Miocene. The Zengmu Basin, to the southwest of the WBL, shows an overall synformal geometry, thick folded strata in the Late Eocene to Late Miocene (40.4–5.2 Ma), and pretty small normal faults at the basin edge, which imply that the Zengmu Basin is a foreland basin under the Luconia and Borneo collision in the Sarawak since the Eocene. Furthermore, the basin exhibits two stages of subsidence (fast in 40.4–30 Ma and slow in 30–0 Ma); but the amount of observed subsidence and heat flow are both greater than that predicted by crustal thinning. The Beikang Basin, to the NE of the WBL, consists of the syn-rift faulted sub-basins (45–16.4 Ma) and the post-rift less deformed sequences (16.4–0 Ma). The heat flow (∼60 mW/m2) is also consistent with that predicted based on crustal thinning, inferring that it is a rifted basin. However, the basin shows three stages of subsidence (fast in 45–30 Ma, uplift in 30–16.4 Ma, and fast in 16.4–0 Ma). In the uplift stage, the strata were partly folded in the Late Oligocene and partly eroded in the Early Miocene, which is probably caused by the flexural bulging in response to the paleo-South China Sea subduction and the subsequent Dangerous Grounds and Borneo collision in the Sabah to the east of the WBL. Antibiotic residues, generated by the irrational use of drugs and environmental pollution, have always been a great challenge to aquaculture safety. Therefore, a quick, convenient, and performance-excellent way to detect antibiotic residues in aquaculture fish is urgently required. In this study, a multiplex immunochromatographic strip biosensor based on gold nanoparticles was developed for the simultaneous detection of five classes of antibiotic residues (24 β-lactam antibiotics, 26 sulfonamides, five tetracyclines, 24 quinolones, and four amphenicols) in aquaculture fish within 10 min. The detection ranges of five representative antibiotics, penicillin G, sulfamethazine, tetracycline, enrofloxacin, and chloramphenicol, were 2.33–38.4, 0.688–17.1, 1.4–48.1, 1.45–32.9, and 0.537–9.06 µg/kg, respectively. The accuracy and stability of these measurements were demonstrated by analyzing spiked fish samples, with recovery rates of 87.5%–115.2% and a coefficient of variation < 9.5%. The cross-reaction rates, based on the five representative antibiotics, were 3.77%–202% for β-lactams, 3.95%–137% for sulfonamides, 9.19%–100% for tetracyclines, 4.9%–145% for quinolones, and 3.2%–100% for amphenicols. The excellent testing performance of the biosensor strip to most of antibiotic residues in aquaculture fish ensures they meet the maximum residue limits required by countries or organizations. Motivated by the ABO issue of the blood bank system, in which the portions stored have constant shelf life, we consider two subsystems of perishable inventory. The two Perishable Inventory Subsystems-PIS A and PIS B, are correlated to each other through a one-way substitution of demands. Specifically, the input streams and the demand streams applied to each subsystem are four Poisson processes, which are independent of one another. However, if the shelf of PIS A (blood of type O) is empty of items, an arriving demand of type A is unsatisfied, since demand of type A cannot be satisfied by an item of type B (blood portions of type AB), but if the shelf of PIS B is empty of items, an arriving demand of type B is applied to PIS A, since demands of type B can be satisfied by both types. This one-way substitution of the issuing policy generates for PIS A a modulated Poisson demand process operating in a two-state non-Markovian environment. The performance analysis of PIS B is known from previous work. Thus, in this study we focus on the marginal performance analysis of PIS A. Based on a fluid formulation and a Markovian approximation for the one-way substitution demand process, we develop a unified approach to efficiently and accurately approximate the performance of the PIS A. Background: Keloids have always been a difficult problem in the clinic. In our previous study, we demonstrated a Warburg effect in keloid fibroblasts (KFs), like tumors. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of the suppression of the Warburg effect on the biological activity and function of KFs. Methods: KFs were isolated and cultured with different concentrations of oxamate, a classical competitive lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) inhibitor. First, the suppression effect of oxamate on the Warburg effect in KFs was verified. After treatment with oxamate, a scratch wound assay, real-time PCR, flow cytometry, CCK8 kit, and western blotting were used to detect the migration ability, collagen production, apoptosis, cell proliferation, cell cycle distribution, and related molecular mechanisms in KFs. Results: As expected, oxamate inhibited the Warburg effect in KFs in a dose-dependent manner. After the inhibition of the Warburg effect in KFs, the cell migration rate decreased significantly, the mRNA transcription levels of type I collagen and α-SMA were significantly lower, the cell apoptosis rate increased significantly, the cell proliferation activity decreased significantly, and G0/G1 phase cells in KFs increased significantly. The expression of cyclin D1 and its upstream regulatory factors, Akt protein and GSK3 β (phospho S9), decreased significantly. Conclusion: Inhibiting the Warburg effect in KFs significantly suppressed cell proliferation, enhanced cell apoptosis, inhibited cell migration ability, reduced collagen secretion, and induced G0/G1 arrest through the Akt-GSK3β-Cyclin D1 pathway. Therefore, inhibiting the Warburg effect in KFs may provide a new option for the prevention and treatment of keloids. We experimentally investigated the optimized phase matching condition for high order harmonic generation as a source of time-resolved Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (TR-ARPES) applications. In the loose focusing scheme, we find that the divergence of harmonics decreases with the increase of gas cell length, while the maximum intensity is obtained with 10–15 mm gas cell. Our result shows that stable beam condition with best temporal resolution can be realized for TR-ARPES by using a longer gas cell (longer than 25 mm in our experiment), and an appropriate gas cell length can provide balanced condition for good beam intensity and good temporal resolution. For the experiments carried out on HHG-based TR ARPES, the wavefront tilt of harmonic beam is inevitably introduced by the grating used in monochromator, leading to the boarding of pulse width and the dramatic decrease of the temporal resolution. A simple way to decrease the wavefront tilt is by optimizing the beam quality of high order harmonics. In our work, we aim to decrease the divergence of harmonic beam while keeping the enough intensity. We have experimentally investigated the intensity and beam divergence of high order harmonics generated in Ar for different gas cell condition. The divergence of harmonics decreases with the increase of gas cell length which is shown in (a), while the maximum intensity is obtained with 10 15 mm gas cell shown in (b). The aim of the study was to explore the effect and mechanism of a low-level laser on hair follicle stem cells in full-thickness skin wound healing in mice. Full-thickness skin defects were generated by a 5-mm punch biopsy tool on the backs of depilated C57/BL6N mice, which were randomly divided thereafter into a low-dose laser treatment group (LLLT-Low), a high-dose laser treatment group (LLLT-High), and a control group (control). From the day of modeling to the day before the skin samples were taken, the wound area and wound edge of the mice in the LLLT-Low and LLLT-High groups were irradiated with a laser comb every 24 h, and the energy density was 1 J/cm2 and 10 J/cm2, respectively. The control group was irradiated with an ordinary fluorescent lamp. At 0, 3, 5, 10, and 14 days after modeling, pictures of each wound were taken, and the percent wound closure was analyzed. At 3, 5, 10, and 14 days after modeling, the samples were observed by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and immunofluorescence (IF) staining. Whole transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) was performed on the samples on day 10. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis was performed, and the results were validated by Western blot analysis and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The analysis of the percent of wound closure showed that healing was accelerated (significantly from 5 to 10 days) in the LLLT-Low group, but there was no clear change in the LLLT-High group. HE staining showed that the LLLT-Low group had an increasing number of hair follicles and a tendency to migrate to the center of the wound. There was no significant increase in the number of hair follicles and no obvious migration in the LLLT-High group. Immunofluorescence staining showed that the total number of CK15 + hair follicle stem cells in the LLLT-Low group was higher than that in the control group and LLLT-High group at all time points. The number and farthest migration distance of CK15 + hair follicle stem cells increased significantly with time, and after 5 days, they were significantly higher than those in the control group and LLLT-High group. RNA-Seq and Western blot analysis showed that the expression of related genes in hair follicle stem cells, including CK15, in the LLLT-Low group was upregulated. GO analysis and ELISA showed that the expression of many cytokines, represented by IL34, in the LLLT-Low group was upregulated. Low-level laser treatment can promote the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of CK15 + hair follicle stem cells by upregulating the cytokine IL34, thereby promoting skin wound healing in mice. We designed and synthesized novel haptens to produce monoclonal antibodies (mAb) against vitamin B6 (VB6). A group-specific mAb (2F9) that recognized pyridoxine (PN), pyridoxamine (PM), and pyridoxal (PL) was prepared using a homologous strategy with 50% maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of 106.60, 250.57, and 400.11 ng/mL, respectively. Based on this, a gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)-based immunochromatographic strip (ICS) test was established for the detection of VB6 in energy drinks and B-vitamin complex tablets. The developed ICS test results could be semi-quantitatively evaluated by the naked eye within 10 min, and displayed the visual limit of detection (vLOD) values of 250, 500, and 1,000 ng/mL for PN, PM, and PL, respectively. For quantitative analysis, the results obtained by strip reader, with calculated LOD values for PN, PM, and PL were 14.10, 55.58, and 56.25 ng/mL, respectively. Commercial energy drinks and B-vitamin complex tablet samples were detected by the strips and the results were confirmed with high-performance liquid chromatography. Overall, the developed AuNPs-based immunochromatographic sensor was suitable and promising for the group-specific recognition and rapid detection of VB6 in fortified foods and dietary supplements. In this study, we developed a monoclonal antibody (mAb)–based immunochromatographic strip for the detection of gamithromycin (GAM) residues in beef and milk samples. The mAb had a high sensitivity with a 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 0.537 ng/mL, and the cross-reactivity results indicated that the anti-GAM mAb also displayed a high specificity. The immunochromatographic strip gave cutoff values of 2 μg/kg and 5 ng/mL for beef and milk samples, respectively, and the results could be observed within 5 min using the naked eye. Analysis of GAM in beef and milk samples indicated that detection using the immunochromatographic strip was comparable to results using ic-ELISA and LC–MS/MS. Background: Patients with depressed facial scars complain of their negative effects. However, the efficacy of optional treatment techniques is never completely adequate. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of nanofat injection in the improvement of depressed facial scars. Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent depressed facial scar filling with nanofat between November 2017 and January 2020. The FACE-Q scale was sent to patients for feedback regarding satisfaction. Evaluations of the results were also performed by three plastic surgeons. Results: Among the 52 included patients, 44 patients (29 women and 15 men) completed the questionnaire. Obvious and stable effects were usually acquired 3 months after surgery. Temporary erythema appeared at the injection site to varying degrees, lasting 2 to 3 weeks in 93% of the patients. No other serious postoperative complications were observed in the injection area. The FACE-Q outcomes showed that patients who completed injection therapy more than 1 year prior were significantly more satisfied with the decision to undergo this therapy than those who completed the treatment less than 1 year prior. Furthermore, according to the physicians' evaluations, 91% of patients experienced improvement in scar appearance after treatment. Conclusions: The low rate of injection-site complications and the safety of this procedure both support the current implementation of nanofat in the treatment of depressed facial scars. The results of the physicians' evaluations and patient satisfaction surveys confirmed the stable effect of nanofat injection in the treatment of depressed facial scars. Aim: To introduce the application of the temporal-fasciae-complex sheet in treating severe blepharoptosis by frontalis suspension and evaluate its postoperative effect. Methods: Between 2008 and 2016, 25 patients (33 eyelids) underwent this procedure. A 3-cm incision in the temporal region was made to harvest a sheet of deep temporal fascia with the loose aponeurosis attached on both sides. The sheet was then grafted through a preseptal tunnel to perform the suspension. The margin reflex distance 1 after suspension (MRD1S), the margin reflex distance 1 as lifting eyebrow forcefully (MRD1F), the eyelid excursion and the closable eyelid function were used to evaluate the postoperative effect. Results: A total of 22 patients (30 eyelids) completed the study with a mean follow-up period of 23 ± 8.78 months. There was a statistically significant difference between the MRD1 and MRD1S (p < 0.05), the preoperative and postoperative MRD1F (p < 0.05), the preoperative and postoperative eyelid excursion (p < 0.05). All the upper palpebral margins were located above the pupils and no longer affected visual acuity in primary gaze. No severe complication and recurrence were documented within a maximum follow-up period of 36 months. Conclusions: Frontalis suspension with the temporal-fasciae-complex sheet is an efficient method to correct severe blepharoptosis with less complications and recurrences. The application of the sheet can not only overcome the influence of adhesion but also lift the eyelid both functionally and cosmetically. First-principle calculations have been performed to systematically analyze the electronic structure and photocatalytic properties of Cu2O with different Mn-doped concentrations and configurations. The results indicated that pure Cu2O showed semiconductor characteristics, the doping systems were stable and shown metallic properties. Compared with pure Cu2O, the visible range absorption intensity and photocatalytic efficiency are enhanced with increasing the doping concentrations and changed with different configurations. By analyzing the density of states, the enhanced light absorption of the doped systems is mainly attributed to the intraband transition of Mn 3d state electrons. Doping concentrations and configurations have a great influence in the longwave range, while the effect is small in the shortwave range. Environmental and energy concerns have increased interest in renewable energy sources, particularly biofuels. Thus the fermentation of glucose from sulfuric acid-hydrolyzed corn stover for the production of bioethanol has been explored using a combined acid retardation and continuous-effect membrane distillation treatment process. This process resulted in the separation of the sugars and acids from the acid-catalyzed hydrolysate, the removal of most of the fermentation inhibitors from the hydrolysate and the concentration of the detoxified hydrolysate. The recovery rate of glucose from the sugar-acid mixture using acid retardation was greater than 99.12% and the sulfuric acid was completely recovered from the hydrolysate. When the treated corn stover hydrolysate, containing 100 g/L glucose, was used as a carbon source, 43.06 g/L of ethanol was produced with a productivity of 1.79 g/(L∙h) and a yield of 86.31%. In the control experiment, where glucose was used as the carbon source these values were 1.97 g/(L∙h) and 93.10% respectively. In this paper, we report the co-seismic temperature response of the Ms6.3 Kangding earthquake in Sichuan, China, which occurred within a bedrock temperature monitoring station network constructed in the east of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Results indicate that two kinds of co-seismic responses of bedrock temperature, exponential and step-rise ones, were recorded at different stations. As for the former, the amplitude of co-seismic response is about 5.6-11.5 mK (the average value is 7.33 mK), while the latter is about 0.31-0.98 mK (the average value is 0.52 mK). These two kinds of responses would be indicative of the two different mechanisms for change in temperature. On the one hand, the exponential responses represent the effects of fluid advection along the borehole wall, which are associated with a finite quantity of heat produced by earthquake-driven transient fluid flow. The step-rise responses, on the other hand, represent the direct response of temperature to change in the crustal stress accompanying with earthquake. We still tested relationship between stress variation and temperature response on the rock samples taken from the boreholes, and the average value is 0.77 mK/MPa. Upon thus, these step-rise temperature responses imply that co-seismic change in mean stress is about 0.40 MPa. We simplify effects of fluid by presuming a one-dimensional model where the flow is either up or down based on a pressure change due to compression or tension. The stress state, compression or tension, deduced by the direction of the fluid flow is qualitatively accordant with the direct response of bedrock temperature to stress change. In summary, characteristic changes in bedrock temperature occurred coincidentally with the earthquake at different stations, agreeing generally with regional stress adjustments accompanying the earthquake. Multiblock copolymers of polyether-modified amino silicone softener (ETSO-PEA) were successfully synthesized with epoxy-terminated polysiloxane (ETSO) and polyether amine. The chemical structure of ETSO-PEA was characterized by 1H NMR, FTIR and TGA. Single-factor and orthogonal array design experiments affecting the conversion rate of product were carried out to investigate the optimal reaction conditions. In the first two steps, the data between viscosity/conversion rate and reaction time showed that the two steps were both kinetic first-scale reaction. The application of ETSO-PEA used as softener on cotton fabrics was studied. The results showed that the ETSO-PEA-treated cotton fabrics expressed better hydrophilicity, wettability and whiteness than traditional amino silicone softener-treated samples. The morphology images indicated that the scales and clearance on the surface of the untreated cotton fibers were covered with a smooth film after treating with the silicones solution. Amino silicone softener was fixed onto the cotton fabrics, and the surface was modified with a formation of network structure. Meanwhile, the extent of networking and crosslinking was enhanced a lot, which provided a good soft handle. The polyether segment with less bending on the ETSO-PEA disrupted the continuous arrangement of Si-CH3 groups and limited the movement of polysiloxane segment, giving the cotton fabric a better hydrophilic and slightly rougher surface than ATSO-treated samples. To evaluate residues of olaquindox (OLA) and its marker compound methyl-3-quinoxaline-2-carboxylic acid (MQCA) in aquatic products in the field, five types of hapten and corresponding antigens with exposure of different antigenic determinants were designed and synthesized. The optimal immunogen-coating combinations were obtained by antiserum detection and heterologous coating screening, successfully achieving a highly specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) against MQCA. Based on the highly specific mAb 1A11 showing no cross-reactivity with other analogs, an indirect competitive ELISA and an immunochromatographic strip for MQCA detection in fish were developed using the MQCA derivative MQCA-(NH) coupled to KLH as the immunogen and MQCA-NH coupled to OVA as the heterologous coating antigen. The IC value of the indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (icELISA) was 3.17 ng/mL, and the linear range was 0.58-17.29 ng/mL for MQCA under optimized concentrations of coating antigen and antibody of 0.03 and 0.3 μg/mL, respectively. The recoveries of MQCA by the developed icELISA in fish samples ranged from 81.6 to 90.7%. The cutoff value of the strip was 5 ng/mL, and the limit of detection was 0.25 ng/mL under optimal working conditions of 4 μL 0.1 M KCO and 50 μL 0.2 mg/mL per 1 mL colloidal gold solution. A gold immunochromatographic sensor (GICS) was developed for the rapid detection of 26 sulfonamides in honey samples. The sensor was based on a group-specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) that can recognize all 26 sulfonamides. Three haptens (hapten 1 with a thiazole ring, hapten 2 with a benzene ring, and hapten 3 with a straight carbon chain) were used for antigen preparation. With hybridoma technology, a group-specific mAb was screened with a 50% maximal inhibitory concentration (IC) against sulfathizole (STZ) and the other 25 analogues ranging from 0.08 to 90.18 ng/mL. Mono-dispersed gold nanoparticles were conjugated with the mAb to develop the lateral immunochromatographic strip. A labeled antibody concentration of 0.1 μg/mL and a coating antigen concentration of 0.2 μg/mL in the test line were chosen for strip preparation. Under optimized conditions, the visual limits of detection (vLOD) for the concentrations of STZ, sulfamethoxazole, sulfamethizole, sulfadiazine, sulfamerazine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfamonomethoxine, sulfameter, sulfamethoxypyridazine, and sulfachloropyridazine were 5, 0.25, 0.25, 10, 5, 10, 25, 2.5, 5, 0.25, and 10 μg/kg, respectively. Scanner analysis in honey samples revealed good performance for detection of the 26 sulfonamides. Commercial honey samples were tested with the sensor and positive results were confirmed with high-performance liquid chromatography. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the role of low-level laser treatment (LLLT) in hair growth in C3H/HeJ mice. Healthy C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into two groups: with and without low-level laser treatment. The skin color of each mouse was observed each day. Skin samples were collected for H&E, immunofluorescence, PCR, and western blot analysis, to observe the morphology of hair follicles and detect the expression levels of Wnt10b and β-catenin. Observation of skin color demonstrated that black pigmentation started significantly earlier in the laser group than in the control group. Hair follicle number in both groups showed no difference; however, the hair follicle length presented a significant difference. Wnt10b protein was detected on the second day in hair matrix cells in the LLLT group but not in the control group. PCR and western blot results both illustrated that expression of Wnt10b and β-catenin was significantly higher in the LLLT group than in the control group. Objective: To develop a high-sensitivity immunochromatographic test for fumonisin B1 in plant extracts. Results: Unlike conventional immunochromatographic tests, this assay is performed in two stages: competitive reaction with free specific antibodies and identifying immune complexes by their interaction with the anti-species antibody-conjugated gold nanoparticles. The use of a new geometry for the test strip membranes and a novel reagent application method ensures the proper order of these stages without additional manipulations. The contact of the ready-to-use test strip with the liquid sample suffices in initiating all stages of the assay and obtaining test results. The developed test was used on corn extracts; its instrumental limit of fumonisin B1 detection was 0.6 ng ml at 15 min of assay duration. Conclusions: The proposed approach is flexible and can be used for a wide range of low molecular compounds. A lateral flow assay for rapid, simple and efficient determination of L. monocytogenes is presented. A monoclonal antibody (mAb) 1C1 against the peptide from P60 protein of L. monocytogenes was prepared and labeled with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The mAb 1C1 was paired with the mAb 10E7 against the P60 protein of all the Listeria spp. and used as a capture bioligand in a lateral flow assay. The AuNP-based strip test can detect the supernatant of eight common L. monocytogenes serotypes including 1/2a, 1/2b, and 4b with an equivalent detection limit of 3.7 × 10 CFU⋅mL but does not detect four other Listeria spp. ( L. ivanovii, L. innocua, L. welshimeri, and L. grayi). For rapid and simultaneous detection of (fluoro)quinolones, a broadly specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes 32 (fluoro)quinolone antibiotics was prepared using a mixture of a norfloxacin derivative and a sarfloxacin derivative as the hapten. An immunochromatographic strip based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was then assembled with goat anti-mouse antibody and antigen (sarfloxacin coupled to ovalbumin), used to form the C line and T line, respectively. This antigen competes with the (fluoro)quinolones in a sample incubated with mAbs labeled with AuNPs. The strip can detect 32 (fluoro)quinolones including oxolinic acid, nalidixic acid, miloxacin, pipemidic acid, piromidic acid, rosoxacin, cinoxacin, norfloxacin, pefloxacin, lomfloxacin, enofloxacin, fleroxacin, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, dafloxacin, orbifloxacin, sparfloxacin, gemifloxacin, besifloxacin, balofloxacin, gatifloxacin, moxifloxacin, nadifloxacin, ofloxacin, marbofloxacin, flumequine, pazufloxacin, prulifloxacin, sarafloxacin, difloxacin, trovafloxacin, and tosufloxacin in milk within 10 min with the naked eye. The cut-off values of the strip range from 1 to 100 ng/mL and the limits of detection are 0.1-10 ng/mL. An indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (Ic-ELISA) method and lateral-flow immunochromatographic (ICA) strip assay method were developed for the detection of vitamin B (four major forms, cyanocobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and methylcobalamin) in different food products. The limit of detection and 50 % inhibitory concentration for the Ic-ELISA method were 0.065 and 0.43 ng/mL, respectively. The visual limit of detection and cutoff value for the lateral-flow ICA strip assay method were 1 and 4 ng/mL, respectively. For the detection of fortified food and nutritional supplements in vitamin tablets, energy drink, and infant milk powder samples, the recovery rates were in the range of 81 to 122 % for the Ic-ELISA method, and even the lowest content in infant milk powder was identified by the lateral-flow ICA strip assay. A sensitive class-specific monoclonal antibody against tetracyclines (TCs) was generated and used to develop an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and an immunochromatographic assay for TC, oxytetracycline (OTC), and chlortetracycline (CTC) detection in milk and honey samples. The dynamic range of detection for TC in ELISA was 0.26-2.00 μg L with an IC of 0.72 μg L. The IC value of OTC and CTC was 3.2 and 6.4 μg L, respectively. The recovery of TC, OTC, and CTC in milk samples was 82-102, 91-105, and 90-101 %, respectively, and 88-101, 89-101, and 89-95 % in honey samples, respectively. In the immunochromatographic assay, the cutoff values for TC, OTC, and CTC were 15, 15, and 50 μg L in milk, respectively, and 40, 40, and 40 μg L in honey, respectively. In order to develop highly sensitive immunoassays for detecting the major peanut allergen, Ara h 2, we prepared six monoclonal antibodies (mAb) with high affinity to Ara h 2. Using mAb 5 as a capture antibody and HRP-labeled mAb 1 as a detection antibody, a sandwich enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) was established with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.02 ng/mL. An immunochromatographic strip based on these two mAbs was also established with a LOD of 1 ng/mL. Both tests showed high specificity in cross-reactivity experiments. Medroxyprogesterone (MP) is an anabolic steroid, and its use is forbidden in livestock production. To enforce this ban, it is necessary to develop a highly specific and accurate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect MP residue. Herein, we describe the first synthesis of a specific hapten which retains the specific structure of MP by replacing the hydroxy group of MP with bromoacetic acid. This MP hapten was conjugated with bovine serum albumin and used as the immunogen in ELISA. The monoclonal antibody was produced by cell fusion. An indirect competitive ELISA was developed based on the monoclonal antibody for the detection of MP, which had a half inhibition concentration of 0.06 ng/mL and a limit of detection of 0.01 ng/mL. No cross-reactivity was found with eight analogous compounds by this method, which showed high specificity for MP. Fast and sensitive screening of antibiotics is a great need in food quality assurance. A monoclonal antibody specific to fluoroquinolones (FQ) was obtained using ciprofloxacin (CPF) derivant as hapten. The antibody was characterized with broad recognition to CPF (100 %), enrofloxacin (ENF, 73.89 %), norfloxacin (73.57 %), nadifloxacin (67.28 %), danofloxacin (53.09 %), pefloxacin (50.26 %), lomefloxacin (35.66 %), enoxacin (12.40 %), and sarafloxacin (3.23 %). Then, an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was established. The optimized concentrations of coating antigen and antibody were 0.1 and 0.5 μg/ml, respectively. Various parameters including pH values, ionic strength and the concentration of antibody and antigen were optimized for this assay. The ELISA was found to have the best sensitivity in assay buffer of pH 6 and sodium chloride content 1.6 % (m/v) using CPF as tested compound. Fortified milk samples with CPF and ENF (50 and 250 μg/l) and fortified chicken samples (10 and 50 μg/kg) were analyzed with the proposed measure. The ELISA was examined with recovery range of 94-104 % for milk detection and 93-108 % for chicken detection. The coefficient variation data for intra-assay and inter-assay ranged from 4.24 % to 12.16 %. Background: Cleft palate is one of the most common congenital malformations in the maxillofacial region. After a cleft palate repair, surgeons must deal with the transverse growth restriction and palatal fistulas caused by scar tissue on the raw bone surface around the hard palate. This report describes the technique of the buccinator musculomucosal flap procedure performed together with repair of the cleft palate. The objective is to cover exposed bone areas of the hard palate to decrease scar contraction and subsequent transverse maxillary growth restriction, as well as tension at the closure. Methods: From August 2009 to February 2012, 15 patients underwent the buccinator musculomucosal flap procedure. First, the cleft palate was repaired by mucoperiosteal flaps, resulting in wide and raw bone surfaces around the hard palate. The outline of the flap was marked on the buccal mucosa. Grounding on the exposed bone areas around the hard palate, the authors designed widths of flaps ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 cm. These flaps were elevated from the buccopharyngeal fascia and turned 90° to cover the raw hard palate bone surfaces. The donor sites were closed by direct suture. Results: The follow-up period was 1–26 months (average, 10 months). No complications were found in any patient who underwent the procedure, and no fistulas occurred in the midline of the palate. No patients experienced complications related to the donor sites. No trismus or other dysfunction related to mouth movement was observed. Conclusions: The buccinator musculomucosal flap is a convenient and safe flap procedure with fewer donor-site complications. This procedure also has significant potential for improving maxilla growth and reducing the secondary complications that often can result from cleft palate repair. Multiple-effect membrane distillation (MEMD) using a hollow fiber-based air-gap membrane distillation module was experimentally examined for concentrating dilute aqueous hydrochloric acid. The effects of the hot and cold feed-in temperatures, and the feed-in volumetric flow rates on the performance of the MEMD process were studied. The performance was evaluated using the performance ratio ( PR), the average selectivity of water over HCl ( β) and the permeation flux ( N). Two types of porous fibers made from polypropylene were used to fabricate the MEMD modules. The experimental data indicated that hollow fibers with high porosity were preferred for the MEMD process. The PR, β and N all decreased as the feed concentration increased. When the feed concentration was below 12 wt-%, the PR was 6.0-9.6 and β was 10-190. When the concentration of HCl reached 18 wt-%, the PR and β were about 4.4 and 2.3, respectively. However, β sharply decreased to around 1.0 when the feed was further concentrated. Tuberculosis (TB) is still one of the most common causes of death in the world. The emergence of multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant (XDR-TB) Mycobacterium tuberculosis ( M. tuberculosis) strains has increased the importance of searching for alternative targets to develop new antimycobacterial drugs. Linezolid, the first of oxazolidinones, is active in vitro against M. tuberculosis, but the response mechanisms of M. tuberculosis to linezolid are still poorly understood. To reveal the possible mechanism of action of linezolid against M. tuberculosis, commercial oligonucleotide microarrays were used to analyze the genome-wide transcriptional changes triggered by treatment with subinhibitory concentrations of linezolid. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR was performed for selected genes to verify the microarray results. A total of 729 genes were found to be differentially regulated by linezolid. Among these, 318 genes were upregulated, and 411 genes were downregulated. A number of important genes were significantly regulated that are involved in various pathways, such as protein synthesis, sulfite metabolism, and genes involved in the cell envelope and virulence. The use of satellite thermal infrared information is being developed as a method of exploring current tectonic activity. To realize real world application, an objective, stable and testable thermal physical index that is simultaneously related with tectonic activity must be established. From the viewpoint of the energy balance, the land surface is a boundary where energy is exchanged between outer space and the solid Earth. Regardless of how complex the influencing factors are, the land surface is mainly affected by the Sun, atmosphere and underground heat. In this paper, first, the relationships among land surface temperature, solar radiation, atmospheric temperature and thermal information from underground are obtained employing a mathematic physical method based on the equation of heat conduction and energy balance at the land surface. Second, a thermal physical index called the geothermal flux index (GFI), which can provide the activity state of underground heat, is constructed. Third, the theoretical basis of the thermal physical index is verified using stable annual variations in land surface temperature and solar radiation. Finally, combined with known crustal deformations derived using a global positioning system, the effectiveness of the GFI in extracting field tectonic motion is tested. Mycobacterium tuberculosis ( M. tuberculosis) remains one of the world's most prevalent and serious pathogens, and multiple resistant strains are increasingly widespread. The recent emergence of multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant (XDR-TB) strains has increased the importance of searching for alternative targets to develop new antimycobacterial drugs. Plumbagin (PL), a natural plant product, has been reported to have potential antimicrobial activity against M. tuberculosis, but the response mechanisms of M. tuberculosis to PL are still poorly understood. In this study, we used a commercial oligonucleotide microarray to determine the overall transcriptional response of M. tuberculosis H37Rv triggered by exposure to subinhibitory concentrations of PL. A total of 274 genes were found to be differentially regulated by PL. Of these, 103 genes were upregulated, and 171 genes were downregulated. A number of important genes were significantly regulated that are involved in various pathways, such as chaperonins, PE/PPE multigene families, and genes involved in the cell envelope, virulence, and 50S ribosomes. To our knowledge, this genome-wide transcriptomics approach has produced the first insights into the response of M. tuberculosis to a PL challenge. Five young pseudohermaphrodite girls with clitoromegaly genital abnormalities are presented. Considering the deficiency and hypogenesis of the local tissue in these young patients, the treatment was performed as a staged operation. First, the cavernosa was mostly removed, and a clitoroplasty was performed to form a clitoris with part of the glans. At 2 weeks after the surgery, the labia minora reconstruction was performed to restore female vulvae using a foreskin flap. The results showed that the transferred foreskin flaps survived well without complications. The vulvae appearance was very good and very much resembled normal female external genitals, both aesthetically and functionally. Principle on temperature response to the stress-strain variation is fundamental to the relationship between thermal radiation variation and stress-strain field. Current research indicates that temperature has a sensitive response to rock deformation under the condition of normal temperature background. However, the basic physical relationship between deformation and temperature variation is not clear and need to be investigated further. In this paper, principle on temperature response to stress-strain variation is studied in detail, based on thermodynamics, elastic strain theory, and experiments on both ideal material and rock. In the stage of elastic deformation, results indicate that: 1) temperature increment is positively correlated with volume strain variation. Temperature rises with hydrostatic pressure increase. In other words, temperature rises when the specimen is under the compressive state whereas temperature drops under the tensile state. 2) Pure shear deformation does not contribute to temperature variation. Namely, shape change of specimen does not produce temperature variation. However, there exist the relative tensile area and the compressive one in the specimen under the state of pure shear. Temperature drops within the relative tensile area while temperature rises within the compressive areas during the process of loading. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
