P2X receptors, a subfamily of ligand-gated ion channels activated by extracellular ATP, are implicated in various physiopathological processes, including inflammation, pain perception, and immune and respiratory regulations. Structural determinations using crystallography and cryo-EM have revealed that the extracellular three-dimensional architectures of different P2X subtypes across various species are remarkably identical, greatly advancing our understanding of P2X activation mechanisms. However, structural studies yield paradoxical architectures of the intracellular domain (ICD) of different subtypes (e.g., P2X3 and P2X7) at the apo state, and the role of the ICD in P2X functional regulation remains unclear. Here, we propose that the P2X3 receptor's ICD has an apo state conformation similar to the open state but with a less tense architecture, containing allosteric sites that influence P2X3's physiological and pathological roles. Using covalent occupancy, engineered disulfide bonds and voltage-clamp fluorometry, we suggested that the ICD can undergo coordinated motions with the transmembrane domain of P2X3, thereby facilitating channel activation. Additionally, we identified a novel P2X3 enhancer, PSFL77, and uncovered its potential allosteric site located in the 1α3β domain of the ICD. PSFL77 modulated pain perception in P2rx3+/+, but not in P2rx3−/−, mice, indicating that the 1α3β, a "tunable" region implicated in the regulation of P2X3 functions. Thus, when P2X3 is in its apo state, its ICD architecture is fairly ordered rather than an unstructured outward folding, enabling allosteric modulation of the signaling of P2X3 receptors. Four halophilic archaeal strains YCN1T, YCN58T, LT38T, and LT62T were isolated from Yuncheng Salt Lake (Shanxi, China) and Tarim Basin (Xinjiang, China), respectively. Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses showed that these four strains tightly cluster with related species of Halobacterium, Natronomonas, Halorientalis, and Halobellus, respectively. The AAI, ANI, and dDDH values between these four strains and their related species of respective genera were lower than the proposed threshold values for species delineation. Strains YCN1T, YCN58T, LT38T, and LT62T could be differentiated from the current species of Halobacterium, Natronomonas, Halorientalis, and Halobellus, respectively, based on the comparison of diverse phenotypic characteristics. The polar lipid profiles of these four strains were closely similar to those of respective relatives within the genera Halobacterium, Natronomonas, Halorientalis, and Halobellus, respectively. The phenotypic, phylogenetic, and genome-based analyses indicated that strains YCN1T, YCN58T, LT38T, and LT62T represent respective novel species within the genera Halobacterium, Natronomonas, Halorentalis, and Halobellus, for which the names Halobacterium yunchengense sp. nov., Natronomonas amylolytica sp. nov., Halorientalis halophila sp. nov., and Halobellus salinisoli sp. nov. are proposed, respectively. Background: Hyperlipidemia is a vital etiology of acute pancreatitis (AP), 12 to 20% of which have a history of hyperlipidemia. Multiple organ failure is the major cause of the high mortality rate of AP. Liver injury has been discovered in 80% of AP patients. The relationship and role of IRF9 and SIRT1 have not been presented in AP and hyperlipidemia AP (HLAP) with liver injury. This investigation was designed to explore the function and relationship of IRF9 and SIRT1. Methods: HLAP model in vivo was performed by feeding high-fat forage and induced by peritoneal injection with 20% L-arginine. The severity of pancreas and liver tissues was assessed. Cell apoptosis in the liver was determined by the TUNEL experiment. IRF9, SIRT1, p53, and acetylated p53 (Ac-p53) expression levels in liver tissues were detected by qRT-PCR and Western blot. The association of IRF9 expression with SIRT1 levels was evaluated. The relevance of triglyceride level to tissue damage was analyzed. Results: Our observation exhibited more distinct liver damage, a large number of hepatic cell apoptosis, marked raised IRF9, Ac-p53, and sharply dropped SIRT1 in the AP and HLAP groups. Compared with other groups, HLAP showed the most significant changes in liver injury, hepatic cell apoptosis, protein, and mRNA levels. The declined expression of SIRT1 was correlated with the elevated expression of IRF9. The damage of the pancreas and liver exacerbated with the increase in triglyceride levels. Conclusion: Elevated IRF9 in pancreatitis with liver injury raised cell apoptosis and tissue damage by decreasing SIRT1 expression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The genera Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula are the most closely related genera within the family Haloarculaceae (class Halobacteria). The respective 16S rRNA genes of type strains from the genus Haloarcula showed 94.7–96.5% similarities to their homologous genes of type strains from the genus Halomicroarcula. The Haloarcula species showed 89.3–92.8% rpoB′ gene similarities to Halomicroarcula species. These similarities were higher than the proposed genus boundary. Phylogenomic analysis revealed that these two genera formed a tight cluster separated from Halomicrobium with high bootstrap confidence. The average amino acid identity (AAI) values among Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula were 70.1–74.5%, higher than the cutoff value (67.0%) to differentiate the genera Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula from Halomicrobium. These results indicated that the genus Halomicroarcula should be merged with Haloarcula. Then, six novel species are described based on strains DFY41T, GDY20T, SHR3T, XH51T, YJ-61-ST, and ZS-22-S1T isolated from coarse sea salt, marine solar saltern, and salt lake (China). These six strains formed separate clades (90.1–99.3% 16S rRNA and 89.0–94.9% rpoB′ gene similarities) and then clustered with current Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula species (89.4–99.1% 16S rRNA and 87.6–95.0% rpoB′ gene similarities), as revealed by phylogenetic analyses. The average nucleotide identity (ANI), digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH), and AAI values among these six strains and current Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula species were 76.2–89.8%, 25.3–46.0%, and 70.3–89.7%, respectively, clearly below the species demarcation threshold. These six strains were distinguished from current Haloarcula and Halomicroarcula species according to differential phenotypic characteristics. Six novel species, Haloarculahalophila sp. nov., Haloarculalitorea sp. nov., Haloarcularara sp. nov., Haloarculahalobia sp. nov., Haloarculapelagica sp. nov., and Haloarculaordinaria sp. nov., are proposed to accommodate strains DFY41T, GDY20T, SHR3T, XH51T, YJ-61-ST, and ZS-22-S1T, respectively. The current species of Halosegnis and Salella within the class Halobacteria are closely related based on phylogenetic, phylogenomic, and comparative genomic analyses. The Halosegnis species showed 99.8–100.0% 16S rRNA and 96.6–99.6% rpoB′ gene similarities to the Salella species, respectively. Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses showed that Salella cibi CBA1133T, the sole species of Salella, formed a single tight cluster with Halosegnis longus F12-1T, then with Halosegnis rubeus F17-44T. The average nucleotide identity (ANI), digital DNA–DNA hybridization (dDDH), and average amino acid identity (AAI) values between Salella cibi CBA1133T and Halosegnis longus F12-1T were 99.2, 94.2, and 98.6%, respectively, much higher than the thresholds for species demarcation. This genome-based classification revealed that the genus Salella should be merged with Halosegnis, and Salella cibi should be a later heterotypic synonym of Halosegnis longus. Halophilic archaeal strains DT72T, DT80T, DT85T, and DT116T, isolated from the saline soil of a tidal flat in China, were subjected to polyphasic taxonomic characterization. The phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic, and phylogenomic features indicated that strains DT72T (= CGMCC 1.18925T = JCM 35418T), DT80T (= CGMCC 1.18926T = JCM 35419T), DT85T (= CGMCC 1.19049T = JCM 35605T), and DT116T (= CGMCC 1.19045T = JCM 35606T) represent four novel species of the genera Halorussus, Halosegnis and Haloglomus, respectively, for which the names, Halorussus caseinilyticus sp. nov., Halorussus lipolyticus sp. nov., Halosegnis marinus sp. nov., and Haloglomus litoreum sp. nov., are proposed. Four halophilic archaea strains, AD-4T, CGA30T, CGA73T, and WLHSJ27T, were isolated from a salt lake and two soda lakes located in different regions of China. The 16S rRNA and rpoB′ gene sequence similarities among strains AD-4T, CGA30T, CGA73T, WLHSJ27T, and the current species of the family Natrialbaceae were 90.9–97.5% and 83.1–91.8%, respectively. The phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses revealed that these four strains separated from existing genera in the family Natrialbaceae and formed distant branches. The ANI, isDDH, and AAI values among these four strains and the current members of the family Natrialbaceae were 72–79%, 20–25%, and 63–73%, respectively, much lower than the threshold values for species demarcation. Strains AD-4T, CGA73T, and WLHSJ27T may represent three novel genera of the family Natrialbaceae according to the cutoff value of AAI (≤ 76%) proposed to differentiate genera within the family Natrialbaceae. These four strains could be distinguished from the related genera according to differential phenotypic characteristics. The major phospholipids of these four strains were identical while their glycolipid profiles were diverse. DGD-1 is a major glycolipid found in strain AD-4T, trace glycolipids, DGD-1, and S-DGD-1, and (or) S-TGD-1 was found in the other three strains. The major respiratory quinones detected in the four strains were menaquinone MK-8 and MK-8(H2). This polyphasic classification indicated that strains AD-4T, CGA73T, and WLHSJ27T represent three novel species of three new genera with the family Natrialbaceae, and strain CGA30T represents a novel species of Halovivax. The morphology of filler exerts a momentous influence on the construction of heat conduction path in polymer matrix. In this paper, ZnOs@T-ZnOw/EP composites was prepared by mixing spherical zinc oxide (ZnOs) powder with tetra-needle like ZnO whiskers (T-ZnOw). By changing the mixture ratio of ZnOs and T-ZnOw, the thermal conductivity of ZnOs@T-ZnOw composite was optimized. When the filler content was 11.08% vol., the thermal conductivity of the composite with 40 wt% ZnOs and 60 wt% T-ZnOw reached the maximum 0.52 W(m K)−1, which was 2.76 times higher than that of the pure epoxy resin. Meanwhile, the obtained composite showed good insulation properties. This experiment explored the influence of packing topography on the composition of thermal conductivity pathways and other properties, and revealed the thermal conductivity mechanism of filled thermal conductive composites. In vitro intestinal epithelium models have drawn great attention to investigating intestinal biology in recent years. However, the difficulty to maintain the normal physiological status of primary intestinal epithelium in vitro limits the applications. Here, we designed patterned electrospun polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibrous membranes with crypt-like topography and mimic ECM fibrous network to support crypt culture and construct in vitro intestinal epithelium models. The patterned electrospun PLA nanofibrous membranes modified with Matrigels at 0 °C showed high biocompatibility and promoted cell growth and proliferation. The constructed duodenum epithelium models and colon epithelium models on the patterned electrospun PLA nanofibrous membranes expressed the typical differentiation markers of intestinal epithelia and the gene expression levels were close to the original tissues, especially with the help of probiotics. The constructed intestinal epithelium models could be used to assess probiotic adhesion and colonization, which were verified to show significant differences with the Caco-2 cell models due to the different cell types. These findings provide new insights and a better understanding of the roles of biophysical, biochemical, and biological signals in the construction of in vitro intestinal epithelium models as well as the potential applications of these models in the study of host-gut microbes interactions. Liquid metals (LM) refer to Ga-based alloys with low melting points such as Eutectic GaInSn alloys (EGaInSn), which have excellent fluidity, flexibility and low toxicity at room temperature. In this work, by incorporating EGaInSn into poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) hydrogels as dynamic crosslinkers and effective energy-dissipating units, tough and strong PAA-LM hydrogels are prepared through the interactions between the oxide layers on the surface of LM and carboxyl groups of PAA chains. Moreover, owing to the fluidity of LM, one LM droplet as a cross-linking point may change its shape or break into more and smaller droplets in the hydrogels upon stretching. Then hydrogels with self-adaptive networks can be fabricated by mechanical training through cyclic stretch at a certain elongation. Thus, the networks of the hydrogels are further homogenized, and the hydrogels are significantly toughened during the training due to the increased cross-linking density from the larger number of smaller LM droplets. After a 5-cycle training at the maximum strain of 500% and 24 h recovering, the tensile strength and initial modulus of the PAA-LM hydrogels can be increased from 355 kPa to 597 kPa and 71 kPa to 166 kPa, respectively, while the elongation at break only decreases from 1491% to 1034%. Four extremely halophilic archaeal strains (ZJ2T, BND6T, DT87T, and YPL30T) were isolated from marine environments and a salt mine in China. The 16S rRNA and rpoB′ gene sequence similarities among strains ZJ2T, BND6T, DT87T, YPL30T and the current species of Natrinema were 93.2–99.3% and 89.2–95.8%, respectively. Both phylogenetic and phylogenomic analyses revealed that strains ZJ2T, BND6T, DT87T, and YPL30T cluster with the Natrinema members. The overall genome-related indexes (ANI, isDDH, and AAI) among these four strains and the current species of genus Natrinema were 70–88%, 22–43% and 75–89%, respectively, clearly below the threshold values for species boundary. Strains ZJ2T, BND6T, DT87T, and YPL30T could be distinguished from the related species according to differential phenotypic characteristics. The major polar lipids of the four strains were phosphatidic acid (PA), phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidylglycerol phosphate methyl ester (PGP-Me), sulfated mannosyl glucosyl diether (S-DGD-1), and disulfated mannosyl glucosyl diether (S2-DGD). The phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic and phylogenomic features indicated that strains ZJ2T (= CGMCC 1.18786 T = JCM 34918 T), BND6T (= CGMCC 1.18777 T = JCM 34909 T), DT87T (= CGMCC 1.18921 T = JCM 35420 T), and YPL30T (= CGMCC 1.15337 T = JCM 31113 T) represent four novel species of the genus Natrinema, for which the names, Natrinema caseinilyticum sp. nov., Natrinema gelatinilyticum sp. nov., Natrinema marinum sp. nov., and Natrinema zhouii sp. nov., are proposed. The Refrath Formation in the Bergisches Land, Germany, is an important stratigraphic unit for the study of Frasnian brachiopods. Nevertheless, few studies have been undertaken concerning its spiriferide and spiriferinide brachiopods (Cyrtospiriferidae, Verneuiliidae and Cyrtinidae). In this paper, three species representing, respectively, the above families, Cyrtospirifer cuspidatus (d'Archiac and de Verneuil, 1842), Verneuilia cheiropteryx (d'Archiac and de Verneuil, 1842), and Cyrtina bouchardi Brice, 1988, are described from this region for the first time. The first serial transverse sections of Verneuilia cheiropteryx show that the species has well-developed dental plates, contrary to previous consensus; it lacks true crural plates, which is different from typical members of the Ambocoelioidea George, 1931. The presence of this species in the Refrath Fm. demonstrates that it is a Frasnian brachiopod, rather than of Middle Devonian (Givetian) age, as previously considered. The ventral median septum of Cyrtina bouchardi supports and penetrates into the deep spondylium, becoming trifurcate anteriorly. Cyrtospirifer cuspidatus is internally characterized by a well-developed ctenophoridium (cardinal process) and a pair of rudimentary crural plates (crural bases) in the dorsal valve and a deeply sunk delthyrial plate and a pair of divergent dental plates (becoming parallel anteriorly) in the ventral valve. Purpose: To evaluate two advanced diffusion models, diffusion kurtosis imaging and the newly proposed mean apparent propagation factor-magnetic resonance imaging, in the grading of gliomas and the assessing of their proliferative activity. Methods: Fifty-nine patients with clinically diagnosed and pathologically proven gliomas were enrolled in this retrospective study. All patients underwent DKI and MAP-MRI scans. Manually outline the ROI of the tumour parenchyma. After delineation, the imaging parameters were extracted using only the data from within the ROI including mean diffusion kurtosis (MK), return-to-origin probability (RTOP), Q-space inverse variance (QIV) and non-Gaussian index (NG), and the differences in each parameter in the classification of glioma were compared. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to evaluate the diagnostic performance of these parameters. Results: MK, NG, RTOP and QIV were significantly different amongst the different grades of glioma. MK, NG and RTOP had excellent diagnostic value in differentiating high-grade from low-grade glioma, with largest areas under the curve (AUCs; 0.929, 0.933 and 0.819, respectively; P < 0.01). MK and NG had the largest AUCs (0.912 and 0.904) when differentiating grade II tumours from III tumours (P < 0.01) and large AUCs (0.791 and 0.786) when differentiating grade III from grade IV tumours. Correlation analysis of tumour proliferation activity showed that MK, NG and QIV were strongly correlated with the Ki-67 LI (P < 0.001). Conclusion: MK, RTOP and NG can effectively represent the microstructure of these altered tumours. Forming large thin-walled hemispherical parts by hydroforming, serious thinning of wall thickness, instability of suspension area, and fracture are often accompanied. In order to solve the above problems, this paper takes AA6061-T6 aluminum alloy thin-walled hemispherical parts as the research object, and uses the method of finite element numerical simulation analysis and experimental verification to carry out the formability analysis of double-layer sheet hydroforming. In order to improve the accuracy of numerical simulation, uniaxial tensile tests are carried out on AA6061-T6 tensile specimens. Based on the BP neural network prediction model, a constitutive model that can truly reflect the plastic deformation characteristics of materials is established, which can provide more accurate material properties for numerical simulation. In this paper, the wall thickness and fittability of the parts are taken as the evaluation indexes, and the simulation analysis of the double-layer sheet hydroforming is carried out combined with the pre-bulging process, and the process flow of the single-sheet and the double-layer sheet hydroforming is compared and analyzed. The forming law of formed sheet under different friction coefficient between sheets and different upper sheet thickness is discussed. In addition, the influence of different temperature on the forming quality of parts is also discussed. It is found that the sheet metal will soften at the appropriate temperature, and the wall thickness distribution of the parts suspending area will be further improved. Finally, the forming experiments are carried out using the optimized process conditions, and the results are basically consistent with the simulation results. Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is a rare X-linked genetic disorder caused by mutations in the androgen receptor (AR) gene. AIS can be divided into partial type (PAIS), mild type (MAIS), and complete type (CAIS) based on the degree of androgen insensitivity. CAIS is characterized by a male genotype and a complete female phenotype. A 10-year-old child presented with a bilateral inguinal mass for 9 years. Physical examination revealed a complete feminine genital appearance and a painless mass in bilateral inguinal area. Pelvic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed long T1 and T2 elliptic signal nodules in bilateral inguinal area, absence of uterus-ovary signal and a short blind end of the vagina. Chromosomal analyzes manifested a 46, XY karyotype. By analyzing the above clinical data, the preliminary diagnosis of CAIS was confirmed. Then laparoscopic bilateral gonadectomy was performed. The histological examination of resected gonad showed it consisted of dysplastic testicular tissue and no signs of malignancy were observed. Sanger sequencing revealed the presence of a hemizygous mutation c.927 T > G (p. Tyr309*) in exon 1 of the AR gene. This is the first report of a novel nonsense mutation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the continuous development of high-end technology in aerospace and automotive, the materials used are lightweight and strong to meet the needs of high performance, high precision, and lightweight of parts; however, they are too difficult to deform, which means that it is difficult to obtain high-quality and high-precision parts. In order to improve the forming quality and precision of parts, taking Aluminum Alloy 6061-T6l cylindrical cup with spherical bottom as the research object, the non-isothermal hydroforming process is studied by combining numerical simulation with experiment. The key of numerical simulation technology lies in the accuracy of simulation, which depends on the establishment of a suitable rheological stress relationship. For this reason, a constitutive model that can truly reflect the thermoforming characteristics of Aluminum Alloy 6061-T6l materials is established through a uniaxial tensile test and BP neural network. Applying the constitutive model to the study of numerical simulation of non-isothermal hydroforming, the cylindrical cup with spherical bottom with high quality is obtained through the optimization of non-isothermal process parameters. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a common human γ-herpesvirus, infects more than 90% of adults worldwide. The purpose of this study was to establish a novel EBV detection method by combining the recombinase aided amplification (RAA) assay with an initial enrichment step that utilizes magnetic beads coated with a recombinant human mannan-binding lectin (rhMBL, M1 protein). An M1 protein–protein A magnetic bead complex (M1 beads) was prepared and used to achieve separation and enrichment of EBV from blood. After nucleic acid extraction, DNA was amplified by RAA. Using 388 whole blood samples and 1 serum sample, we explored the specificity, sensitivity and applicability of the newly developed detection method and compared it with commercial quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) following M1 bead enrichment, traditional qPCR and traditional RAA. After enrichment, the positivity rate of EBV was increased from 15.94% to 17.74% by RAA (P < 0.05) and from 7.20% to 15.17% by qPCR (P < 0.05). The viral loads after enrichment were increased by 1.13 to 23.19-fold (P < 0.05). Our data demonstrates that an RAA assay incorporating M1 bead enrichment is a promising tool for detecting low EBV viral loads in blood samples that will facilitate an early response to EBV infection. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the association between the dietary inflammatory index and lifetime kidney stone prevalence. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study utilizing the 2013–2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data. Data were available on 2192 participants aged > 20 years with a complete kidney stone history and 24 h dietary intake interview. Weighted multivariable linear regression, subgroup analyses, and interaction terms were employed. Covariates including age, race, sex, energy and protein intake, total serum calcium, serum iron, PIR, phosphorus, serum/urine creatinine, HDL, glucose, diastolic and systolic pressure, education level, eGFR, BMI, albuminuria, diabetes, smoking status, and marital status were hierarchically adjusted in three different models. Results: The average dietary inflammatory index for 2192 participants was − 0.11 ± 1.73, ranging from − 4.52 to 4.28. In the fully adjusted model, participants in the highest dietary inflammatory index tertile (the most proinflammatory) had 72% higher odds of the lifetime prevalence of kidney stones than those in tertile 1 (OR = 1.72, 95% CI: 1.03, 2.88, P = 0.0367). Subgroup analysis showed that the association between the dietary inflammatory index and kidney stone history was only statistically significant in the younger age (age ≥ 60), female, Mexican American groups, married people or people without diabetes, hypertension, low eGFR, and albuminuria. The potential for preventive and therapeutic applications of H2 have now been confirmed in various disease. However, the effects of H2 on health status have not been fully elucidated. Our previous study reported changes in the body weight and 13 serum biochemical parameters during the six-month hydrogen intervention. To obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the effects of long-term hydrogen consumption, the plasma metabolome and gut microbiota were investigated in this study. Compared with the control group, 14 and 10 differential metabolites (DMs) were identified in hydrogen-rich water (HRW) and hydrogen inhalation (HI) group, respectively. Pathway enrichment analysis showed that HRW intake mainly affected starch and sucrose metabolism, and DMs in HI group were mainly enriched in arginine biosynthesis. 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed that HRW intake induced significant changes in the structure of gut microbiota, while no marked bacterial community differences was observed in HI group. HRW intake mainly induced significant increase in the abundance of Lactobacillus, Ruminococcus, Clostridium XI, and decrease in Bacteroides. HI mainly induced decreased abundances of Blautia and Paraprevotella. The metabolic function was determined by metabolic cage analysis and showed that HI decreased the voluntary intake and excretions of rats, while HRW intake did not. The results of this study provide basic data for further research on hydrogen medicine. Determination of the effects of hydrogen intervention on microbiota profiles could also shed light on identification of mechanism underlying the biological effects of molecular hydrogen. A selective and sensitive fluorescence method for hypochlorite (ClO−) was designed using glutathione (GSH) modified silicon-doped carbon quantum dots (GSH@Si-CDs). Then a dual emission ratio fluorescence probe (RF-probe) was obtained based on carbodiimide-activated coupling reaction between GSH and Si-CDs. i.e., when the excitation wavelength was kept at 360 nm, the GSH@Si-CDs exhibited strong blue and weak yellow fluorescence at 430 and 580 nm. Meanwhile, the fluorescence of GSH@Si-CDs could be selectively quenched at 430 nm and enhanced at 580 nm in the presence of ClO−, and corresponding limit of detection (LOD) and linear range were measured to be 0.35 µM and 1.0-33.3 µM. The sensing mechanism of the system was also investigated in detail. To help doctors and patients evaluate lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) accurately and efficiently, we propose a segmentation network and a quantitation method for IVDD from T2MRI. A semantic segmentation network (BianqueNet) composed of three innovative modules achieves high-precision segmentation of IVDD-related regions. A quantitative method is used to calculate the signal intensity and geometric features of IVDD. Manual measurements have excellent agreement with automatic calculations, but the latter have better repeatability and efficiency. We investigate the relationship between IVDD parameters and demographic information (age, gender, position and IVDD grade) in a large population. Considering these parameters present strong correlation with IVDD grade, we establish a quantitative criterion for IVDD. This fully automated quantitation system for IVDD may provide more precise information for clinical practice, clinical trials, and mechanism investigation. It also would increase the number of patients that can be monitored. Globally, as a major public health problem, low back pain has been the leading cause of disability worldwide for the past 30 years. Injectable hydrogels as an important class of biomaterials have gained much attention in tissue engineering. However, their crosslinking degree is difficult to be controlled after being injected into body. As we all know, the crosslinking degree strongly influences the physicochemical properties of hydrogels. Therefore, developing an injectable hydrogel with tunable crosslinking degree in vivo is important for tissue engineering. Herein, we present a dual crosslinking strategy to prepare injectable hydrogels with step-by-step tunable crosslinking degree using Schiff base reaction and photopolymerization. The developed hyaluronic acid/poly(γ-glutamic acid) (HA/γ-PGA) hydrogels exhibit step-by-step tunable swelling behavior, enzymatic degradation behavior and mechanical properties. Mechanical performance tests show that the storage moduli of HA/γ-PGA hydrogels are all less than 2000 Pa and the compressive moduli are in kilopascal, which have a good match with soft tissue. In addition, NIH 3T3 cells encapsulated in HA/γ-PGA hydrogel exhibit a high cell viability, indicating a good cytocompatibility of HA/γ-PGA hydrogel. Purpose: This study was designed and performed to assess the ability of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) radiomics features combined with machine learning methods to differentiate between primary and metastatic lung lesions and to classify histological subtypes. Moreover, we identified the optimal machine learning method. Methods: A total of 769 patients pathologically diagnosed with primary or metastatic lung cancers were enrolled. We used the LIFEx package to extract radiological features from semiautomatically segmented PET and CT images within the same volume of interest. Patients were randomly distributed in training and validation sets. Through the evaluation of five feature selection methods and nine classification methods, discriminant models were established. The robustness of the procedure was controlled by tenfold cross-validation. The model's performance was evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Results: Based on the radiomics features extracted from PET and CT images, forty-five discriminative models were established. Combined with appropriate feature selection methods, most classifiers showed excellent discriminative ability with AUCs greater than 0.75. In the differentiation between primary and metastatic lung lesions, the feature selection method gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) combined with the classifier GBDT achieved the highest classification AUC of 0.983 in the PET dataset. In contrast, the feature selection method eXtreme gradient boosting combined with the classifier random forest (RF) achieved the highest AUC of 0.828 in the CT dataset. In the discrimination between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, the combination of GBDT feature selection method with GBDT classification had the highest AUC of 0.897 in the PET dataset. In contrast, the combination of the GBDT feature selection method with the RF classification had the highest AUC of 0.839 in the CT dataset. Most of the decision tree (DT)-based models were overfitted, suggesting that the classification method was not appropriate for practical application. Conclusion: 18F-FDG PET/CT radiomics features combined with machine learning methods can distinguish between primary and metastatic lung lesions and identify histological subtypes in lung cancer. GBDT and RF were considered optimal classification methods for the PET and CT datasets, respectively, and GBDT was considered the optimal feature selection method in our analysis. Objective: To study the effect and mechanism of Huayu Wan (化瘀丸, HYW) in combination of chemotherapy of tumor treatment. Methods: HYW serum was added in Lewis cells to assess its impact on fluorescent doxorubicin delivery in vitro. Then, Lewis tumor cells was implanted in C57BL/6 mice via xenograft transplantation. Tumor growth was measured and signal intensity corresponding to blood flow was assessed by laser doppler perfusion imaging (LDPI). Finally, the effect of HYW on the effificacy of doxorubicin was studied. Results: HYW can improve the transfer of fluorescent doxorubicin into cells. The blood flow signal in the tumor tissues of the HYW group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). Furthermore, HYW improved drug delivery of doxorubicin to tumor tissues, and this activity was associated with HYW-induced microvascular proliferation (P<0.01). Conclusions: HYW can promote microangiogenesis and increase blood supply in tumor tissues, which in turn may increase the risk of metastasis. At the same time, HYW increases drug delivery and improves the effificacy of chemotherapy drugs through vascular proliferation. A pollen study was conducted on an alpine marsh sediment in the Son Kul Basin and was allowed to reconstruct changes in vegetation dynamics and climatic information in the western Tianshan Mountains during the past 2000 years. Pollen diagram reveals that regional vegetation is dominated by alpine meadow in the past 2000 years, being similar with modern vegetation components in the basin. The Artemisia/Chenopodiaceae-indicated moisture exhibits a warm-dry Roman Warm Period (RWP, ∼0–∼500 AD), a cold-dry Dark Ages Cold Period (DACP, ∼500–∼800 AD), a warm-wet Medieval Warm Period (MWP, ∼800–∼1350 AD), a cold-dry Little Ice Age (LIA, ∼1350–∼1850 AD) and a warm-dry Current Warm Period (CWP, since ∼1850 AD). Our pollen-based moisture reconstructions are supported by other nearby moisture records. Combined with other pollen data in the western Tianshan Mountains, we found that the vegetation was relatively stable before ∼1650–∼1750 AD and the anthropogenic activities obviously intensified afterwards (especially at the middle-elevation sites). Further work involving more and higher-resolution palaeovegetation records would contribute to fully understand the information on the complex links between environmental, climatic and anthropogenic changes in the western Tianshan Mountains. Objectives: To evaluate carotid stiffening in participants without conventional cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs) by using ultrafast pulse wave velocity (ufPWV). Methods: The present study enrolled 517 participants without conventional CVRFs (CVRF-Free total population). Subjects in this population were defined as current non-smokers with untreated blood pressure < 140/90 mmHg, fasting blood glucose (FBG) < 7.0 mmol/L, total cholesterol (TC) < 6.2 mmol/L, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol < 4.1 mmol/L, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ≥ 1.0 mmol/L. Participants in the subgroup with optimal CVRFs (CVRF-Optimal subgroup; n = 188) were defined as having blood pressure < 120/80 mmHg, TC < 5.2 mmol/L, and FBG < 5.6 mmol/L. Clinical interviews, physical examinations, serum draw, carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT), and ufPWV were evaluated. Adjusted odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals and ordinal logistic regression models were used. Results: Carotid stiffening was present in 46.2–54.5% of CVRF-Free subjects. Age, male sex, and body mass index (BMI) were independently associated with carotid stiffening in both the CVRF-Free total population and CVRF-Optimal subgroup (OR for age = 1.10–1.11, OR for male sex = 2.65–7.19, OR for BMI = 1.34–1.62; p < 0.05). Carotid stiffening was associated with TC only in the CVRF-Free total population (OR for TC = 1.84; p = 0.034). Conclusions: Many CVRF-Free individuals have carotid stiffening. ufPWV for atherosclerotic stiffening aids the assessment of early atherogenesis and may further clarify the true status of healthy adults without CVRFs. Designing the specific crystal phase with better intrinsic activity and more active sites is a very promising strategy for earth-abundant electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, a facile two-step method including the high-pressure microwave and the hydrothermal sulfurization is adopted to prepare the WSx/Ni9S8 hetero-catalyst on nickel foam (WSx/Ni9S8/NF). Firstly, WO3 polyhedrons homogeneously cover the surface of NF through the high-pressure microwave hydrothermal process. Secondly, WSx/Ni9S8 nanoparticles on the surface of NF can be synthesized after a hydrothermal sulfurization, which has been confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) elemental mapping and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). The amorphous WSx and Ni9S8 phase may provide the dual active sites for OER. The electrochemical measurements show that WSx/Ni9S8/NF has superior OER activity with a low overpotential of 320 mV at the current density of 100 mA·cm−2, better than those of other samples. The enhanced OER performance may be due to the synergistic catalysis from Ni9S8 phase and high valence of W. Owing to the stable structure of Ni9S8, the long-term stability of WSx/Ni9S8/NF for at least 10 h can be obtained. The formation of a rust layer on iron and steels surfaces accelerates their degradation and eventually causes material failure. In addition to fabricating a protective layer or using a sacrificial anode, repairing or removing the rust layer is another way to reduce the corrosion rate and extend the lifespans of iron and steels. Herein, an electrochemical healing approach was employed to repair the rust layer in molten Na2CO3-K2CO3. The rusty layers on iron rods and screws were electrochemically converted to iron in only several minutes and a metallic luster appeared. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analyses showed that the structures of the rust layer after healing were slightly porous and the oxygen content reached a very low level. Thus, high-temperature molten-salt electrolysis may be an effective way to metalize iron rust of various shapes and structures in a short time, and could be used in the repair of cultural relics and even preparing a three-dimensional porous structures for other applications. Wetland is an important carbon pool, and the degradation of wetlands causes the loss of organic carbon and total nitrogen. This study aims to explore how wetland degradation succession affects soil organic carbon (SOC) and total nitrogen (TN) contents in alpine wetland. A field survey of 180 soil-sampling profiles was conducted in an alpine wetland that has been classified into three degradation succession stages. The SOC and TN contents of soil layers from 0 to 200 cm depth were studied, including their distribution characteristics and the relationship between soil water content (SWC) and microtopography. The results showed that SOC and TN of different degradation succession gradients followed the ranked order of Non Degradation (ND) > Light Degradation (LD) > Heavy Degradation (HD). SWC was positively correlated with SOC and TN (p<0.05). As the degree of degradation succession worsened, SOC and TN became more sensitive to the SWC. Microtopography was closely related to the degree of wetland degradation succession, SWC, SOC and TN, especially in the topsoil (0–30 cm). This result showed that SWC was an important indicator of SOC/TN in alpine wetland. The formation of zygote is the beginning of mammalian life, and dynamic epigenetic modifications are essential for mammalian normal development. H3K27 di-methylation (H3K27me2) and H3K27 tri-methylation (H3K27me3) are marks of facultative heterochromatin which maintains transcriptional repression established during early development in many eukaryotes. However, the mechanism underlying establishment and regulation of epigenetic asymmetry in the zygote remains obscure. Here we show that maternal EZH2 is required for the establishment of H3K27me3 in mouse zygotes. However, combined immunostaining with ULI-NChIP-seq (ultra-low-input micrococcal nuclease-based native ChIP-seq) shows that EZH1 could partially safeguard the role of EZH2 in the formation of H3K27me2. Meanwhile, we identify that EHMT1 is involved in the establishment of H3K27me2, and that H3K27me2 might be an essential prerequisite for the following de novo H3K27me3 modification on the male pronucleus. In this work, we clarify the establishment and regulatory mechanisms of H3K27me2 and H3K27me3 in mouse zygotes. Dynamic arrangement of epigenetic modifications such as repressive H3K27 methylation is essential for zygote development. Here the authors show that establishment of genome-wide H3K27me3 in zygotes requires EZH2, that EZH1 partially compensates for EZH2 loss, and that EHMT1 is involved in H3K27me2 establishment. The sintering temperature and oxygen content significantly determine the properties of porous Ti prepared by the traditional powder metallurgy route. However, it is difficult to remove the surface oxide scale on the Ti powders. Herein, porous α-Ti is prepared by an electro-assisted powder metallurgical (EPM) method using Ti powders with different particle sizes in molten CaCl2 at 850°C. The electrochemical polarization refreshes the boundaries of Ti particles and thereafter accelerates the diffusion rate of Ti atoms. The compressive strength of the EPM-Ti is 100–300 MPa, and the elastic modulus is smaller than or nearly 3 GPa. Moreover, the corrosion depth of the EPM-Ti-50 μm is ~ 36 μm after being soaked in Hanks' solution for 90 days. The corrosion potential is − 0.12 V (versus SCE), and the passivation current density is 5.14 × 10−6 A cm−2. The capability of high-throughput sequencing (HTS) for detection of known and unknown viruses timely makes it a powerful tool for public health emergency response. Third-generation sequencing (TGS) offers advantages in speed and length of detection over second-generation sequencing (SGS). Here, we presented the end-to-end workflows for both Oxford Nanopore MinION and Pacbio Sequel on a viral disease emergency event, along with Ion Torrent PGM as a reference. A specific pipeline for comparative analysis on viral genomes recovered by each platform was assembled, given the high errors of base-calling for TGS platforms. All the three platforms successfully identified and recovered at least 85% Norovirus GII genomes. Oxford Nanopore MinION spent the least sample-to-answer turnaround time with relatively low but enough accuracy for taxonomy classification. Pacbio Sequel recovered the most accurate viral genome, while spending the longest time. Overall, Nanopore metagenomics can rapidly characterize viruses, and Pacbio Sequel can accurately recover viruses. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a persistent organic pollutant and can cause oxidative stress in animals. Wood vinegar (WV) is the water condensate of smoke produced during wood carbonization. It was used for antibacterial application, pest control, and antioxidant. In the study, PFOS and WV were used to treat the planarian, and then the oxidative stress induced by PFOS on the planarian (Dugesia japonica) and the protective effects of WV on lipid peroxidation, related antioxidant enzyme activity, and mRNA expression in the planarian were studied. PFOS caused an increase in malondialdehyde (MDA) contents, a decrease in superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities, and a change in glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione S-transferase (GST), glutathione reductase (GR) activities. The mRNA levels of glutathione peroxidase gene (gpx), glutathione S-transferase enzyme gene (gst), and glutathione reductase gene (gr) are upregulated or downregulated to varying degrees. The WV and co-treatment planarians reduced MDA levels, increased the activities of oxidative stress biomarker enzymes, and restored gene expression levels. Flower-like graphene/CuO@Cu-BTC (GR/CuO@Cu-BTC) composite was employed as electrode material for the voltammetric determination of caffeic acid (CA) in the wine. The composite material was prepared via the self-template method. In this synthetic process, budlike CuO not only acts as the template, but also provides Cu2+ ions for in situ growth of the Cu-BTC shell. The utilization of GR as petal greatly boosts the stability and electronic conductivity of CuO@Cu-BTC. The GR/CuO@Cu-BTC composite possesses unique structural features with high specific surface area and good conductivity, exhibiting excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of CA. Under optimized conditions, the sensor shows a good linear response to CA concentration over the range 0.020–10.0 μM, together with a low limit of detection (LOD) of 7.0 nM. Main conclusion: The tobacco nectar proteome mainly consists of pathogenesis-related proteins with two glycoproteins. Expression of nectarins was non-synchronous, and not nectary specific. After secretion, tobacco nectar changed from sucrose rich to hexose rich. Floral nectar proteins (nectarins) play important roles in inhibiting microbial growth in nectar, and probably also tailoring nectar chemistry before or after secretion; however, very few plant species have had their nectar proteomes thoroughly investigated. Nectarins from Nicotiana tabacum (NT) were separated using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and then analysed using mass spectrometry. Seven nectarins were identified: acidic endochitinase, β-xylosidase, α-galactosidase, α-amylase, G-type lectin S-receptor-like serine/threonine-protein kinase, pathogenesis-related protein 5, and early nodulin-like protein 2. An eighth nectarin, a glycoprotein with unknown function, was identified following isolation from NT nectar using a Qproteome total glycoprotein kit, separation by SDS-PAGE, and identification by mass spectrometry. Expression of all identified nectarins, plus four invertase genes, was analysed by qRT PCR; none of these genes had nectary-specific expression, and none had synchronous expression. The total content of sucrose, hexoses, proteins, phenolics, and hydrogen peroxide were determined at different time intervals in secreted nectar, both within the nectar tube (in vivo) and following extraction from it during incubation at 30 °C for up to 40 h in plastic tubes (in vitro). After secretion, the ratio of hexose to sucrose substantially increased for in vivo nectar, but no sugar composition changes were detected in vitro. This implies that sucrose hydrolysis in vivo might be done by fixed apoplastic invertase. Both protein and hydrogen peroxide levels declined in vitro but not in vivo, implying that some factors other than nectarins act to maintain their levels in the flower, after secretion. CdSe:Sm nanocrystals (NCs) were synthesized by a water phase method, and their structures, shapes and optical properties were further characterized. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis suggested that both the CdSe and CdSe:Sm NCs contained (111), (220) and (311) lattice planes in the zinc blende structure overlapped with the (002), (110) and (112) lattice planes in the wurtzite structure, and the diameters were about 4.2, 3.3 and 2.3 nm for CdSe, CdSe:Sm(8%) and CdSe:Sm(10%) NCs, respectively. All of the CdSe:Sm NCs were monodispersed and uniform spherical nanocrystals. The CdSe:Sm(10%) NCs prepared with different reaction times exhibited constant absorption spectra at 430 nm and a fixed emission peak at 581 nm. Compared with those of pure CdSe NCs, the fluorescence emission of CdSe:Sm(10%) NCs blueshifted 20–36 nm, and the absorption peak initially redshifted and then blueshifted with the prolongation of reaction time. In addition, the Sm2+ doping decreased the fluorescence lifetime and increased the quantum yields (QYs) of CdSe NCs. The QYs of CdSe:Sm NCs increased initially and then decreased with the increase in the amount of doped Sm2+. The initial pH and charge compensator concentration also exhibited significantly enhanced fluorescence emission of CdSe:Sm NCs. CdSe and CdSe:Sm NCs were prepared via a water phase method. The structure and optical properties were investigated; the Sm2+ was doped into CdSe NCs successfully. CdSe and CdSe:Sm NCs all exhibit nearly spherical particles, doping Sm2+ increases the particle size, and the QYs are also enhanced. As the reaction time varies to 1, 2, 5, 8 and 10 h, the emission spectra of CdSe NCs present redshift, while the CdSe:Sm NCs have a fixed emission peak, which is the characteristic peak of Sm2+. This paper was to probe into whether IL-6 improved insulin resistance by AMPK and p38MAPK signal pathway. The C2C12 cell lines were purchased from ATCC. The cells of control group were cultured in high-glucose DMEM culture medium. CaCl2 with different concentrations was respectively used to culture C2C12 cells; then, glucose concentrations in the nutrient solution following 24 h were measured in the preliminary experiment. Firstly, cells of A group (control group) were normally cultured C2C12 cells, cells of B, C, and D group were respectively cultured with palmitic acid 48 h, palmitic acid 24 h, and IL-6 24 h, and IL-6-shRNA 48 h, glucose concentrations, IL-6 mRNA and GLUT4 mRNA levels, p-p38MAPK, p-AMPK, p-IRS-1, and p-PI-3K protein contents of each group in the nutrient solution following 48 h were measured. Secondly, cells of A group (control group) were palmitic acid-cultured C2C12 cells, cells of B and C group were respectively cultured with palmitic acid 24 h and CaCl2 24 h, and palmitic acid 24 h CaCl2 24 h, and IL-6-shRNA 24 h, and the same indexes were measured with the first experiment. The preliminary experimental result showed that CaCl2 feed can induce C2C12 cell contraction, and CaCl2 with different concentrations was able to decrease significantly glucose concentrations in the nutrient solution following 24 h (p < 0.05). The result of the first experiment showed that, compared with B group, p-AMPK, p-IRS-1, and p-PI-3K protein contents, GLUT4 mRNA level, and glucose ingestion capacity of C group significantly increased (p < 0.05), and p-p38MAPK protein content of it significantly decreased (p < 0.05). Compared with A group, those of D group significantly decreased (p < 0.05), and p-p38MAPK protein contents of it significantly increased (p < 0.05). The result of the second experiment showed that, compared with A group, those of B group significantly increased (p < 0.05), and p-p38MAPK protein content significantly decreased (p < 0.05). Compared with B group, those of C group significantly decreased (p < 0.05), and p-p38MAPK protein contents significantly increased (p < 0.05). This experiment firstly discovered that exogenous calcium-cultured can induce contraction of C2C12 cells. Molten salts can provide a high-temperature and oxygen-water-free environment, and the electrochemical polarization is able to reduce the oxide scale on the surface of Ti and Ni particles in molten salts and, thereby, enhance the sintering and accelerating atom diffusion between Ti and Ni. Thus, an electro-assisted powder metallurgical (EPM) approach was developed to prepare porous Ti and NiTi from metal powders in molten salts, where the porous pellet cathode made of the mixture of Ni and Ti powders is electrochemically polarized to facilitate the generation of the porous Ti and NiTi at a temperature lower than 1000 °C. The electrolytic product obtained under a cell voltage of 3 V for 12 hours is nearly pure NiTi with a tiny amount of undesired Ni3Ti and NiTi2 phases. The clearance between two teeth is one of the most clinical manifestations of malocclusion. The open vertical loop is mostly used for the closing and opening of the clearance between two deformed teeth. The shape of the open vertical loop can greatly affect the orthodontic force. At present, the design of the open vertical loop depends entirely on the experience of the orthodontic doctors; this practice is ineffective and may easily hurt patients. To solve these problems, the orthodontic-force prediction model is established to help doctors calculate the orthodontic force generated by the open vertical loop using known parameters, such as the height and the clearance length. The structure of the open vertical loop is analysed, and the theory of the bending deformation of the equivalent beam is used for the analysis of the relationship between the orthodontic force and the effective parameters. The orthodontic-force measuring device of the open vertical loop with a one-dimensional force sensor was designed according to the characteristics of orthodontic force transmission. The orthodontic-force measuring experiments were conducted with open vertical loops of different parameters. Finally, the effective orthodontic-force prediction model of the open vertical loop was established by developing the correction factors in order to eliminate the errors. Some serotypes of enterovirus (EV) may lead to transient and symptomatic gastrointestinal infections while others are commensal residents of the human gut. To determine whether certain EV types are more often associated with diarrhea, we conducted a preliminary study on the prevalence of EV serotypes and common diarrhea viruses in fecal samples of diarrhea children and healthy controls. EV was tested with one step nest polymerase chain reaction and typed by direct sequencing while common causative diarrhea viruses rotavirus (RV), norovirus (NoV), adenovirus (AdV), bocavirus (HBoV), and astrovirus (AstV) were screened with multiplex PCR assays. Human Rhinovirus (HRV) and human EVs that were present in both groups were further quantified and their odds ratios (OR) were calculated. Enteric pathogens were detected in 89 (32.6%) of 273 children with diarrhea and included human EVs (51, 18.68%), HRV (32, 11.72%), RV (38, 13.92%), AdV (24, 8.79%), NoVGII (16, 8.79%), HBoV (8, 2.93%) and AstV (3, 1.09%). Potential enteric pathogens were found in 25 (6.93%) of 361 healthy controls and included human EV (59, 16.34%), HRV (8, 2.22%), RV (1, 0.28%), NoVGII (5, 1.39%), AstV (2, 0.55%), AdV (16, 4.43%) and HBoV (1, 0.28%). In addition, EV71, echovirus 3,9,14,25 and coxsackievirus A14 existed in healthy controls only, while HRV, echovirus11,18, coxsackievirus A2,4,6 and B2,4 were found in both patients and healthy controls. OR assessment confirmed a strong association of HRV (P < 0.001) and a weak one for echovirus 11 and coxsackievirus A6 with diarrhea (P > 0.05). Memory deficits are considered to have a great influence on self-management, dietary restriction and therapeutic regimen for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients with dialysis treatment. This study was aim to investigate the spontaneous brain activity and its relationship with memory performance in ESRD patients before dialysis (T1) and after 24 h (T2) during a single dialysis session. 23 ESRD patients and 25 matched healthy controls (HCs) were scanned using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at T1, and all patients were also scanned at T2. Amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) and regional homogeneity (ReHo) methods were used to evaluate the spontaneous brain activity between two groups. The Auditory Verbal Learning Test-Huashan version (AVLT-H) was performed to assess memory function. Compared with HCs, ESRD group showed a significant decreases in the immediate recall total score (IR-S), short-term delayed recall score (SR-S), and long-term delayed recall score (LR-S) at T1. IR-S, SR-S, LR-S and recognition score (REC-S) were significantly increased at T2. Compared with HCs at T1, ESRD patients showed that the lower mean ALFF (mALFF) values were mainly located in dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), medial frontal gyrus, and precuneus. Higher ReHo in the bilateral inferior temporal gyrus and left hippocampus and lower ReHo in the right precentral gyrus, anterior cingulate cortex were found at T1 too. The mALFF values of the DLPFC and precuneus were significantly increased during a dialysis session, while no significantly difference of ReHo region was found. Furthermore, the increased mALFF values of the DLPFC were significantly positively correlated with the improvement in the IR-S. Our results indicated that increased regional spontaneous activity of the DLPFC may reflect memory performance improvement after a single dialysis treatment, which may provide insight into the effect of hemodialysis on spontaneous brain function during a single dialysis session. Two new binary near-azeotropic mixtures named M1 and M2 were developed as the refrigerants of the high-temperature heat pump (HTHP). The experimental research was used to analyze and compare the performance of M1 and M2-based in the HTHP in different running conditions. The results demonstrated the feasibility and reliability of M1 and M2 as new high-temperature refrigerants. Additionally, the exploration and analyses of the support vector machine (SVM) and back propagation (BP) neural network models were made to find a practical way to predict the performance of HTHP system. The results showed that SVM-Linear, SVM-RBF and BP models shared the similar ability to predict the heat capacity and power input with high accuracy. SVM-RBF demonstrated better stability for coefficient of performance prediction. Finally, the proposed SVM model was used to assess the potential of the M1 and M2. The basal ganglia (BG) are composed of several nuclei involved in neural processing associated with integration of sensory and motor information. Recent neuroimaging studies implicated its key role in control of voluntary motor function. As the sensorimotor abnormality is common among the end-stage renal disease (ESRD) population, in the current study, we aimed to investigate the abnormal structure and functional connectivity patterns of BG in ESRD patients. Twenty-nine ESRD and twenty-nine age and gender-matched healthy controls (HC) were enrolled to compare the volume of the subsets in the BG (e.g., caudate nucleus, putamen and globus pallidus) by using the VBM analysis; resting-state functional connectivity was analyzed by a seed-based method. Compared with the HC group, ESRD patients had a smaller volume in the right putamen. Taking the right putamen as a seed region, we further found reduced functional connectivity in patients mainly between the putamen and supplementary motor area (SMA), insula, posterior mid-cingulate gyrus, and primary motor cortex. In ESRD group, the severity score of restless legs syndrome was negatively correlated with putamen-SMA functional connectivity, while the hemoglobin level was positively correlated with functional connectivity degree between the putamen and SMA. Our results revealed an abnormal volume of the putamen and its decreased functional connectivity patterns during resting state in ESRD with sensorimotor abnormalities. These preliminary results indicated that the decreased functional connectivity in putamen-SMA was associated with sensorimotor abnormalities, and anemia was correlated with this abnormal functional pattern in ESRD patients.
