As a result of this scanning electron microscopy study of centric diatoms, collected from Lake Teletskoye and water bodies of its catchment basin in 1989–2020, three small celled species of the genus Stephanodiscus (S. binatus, S. makarovae and S. minutulus), including two (S. makarovae and S. binatus) new for the study area, have been recorded. The morphological analysis of these species has shown that some of them differ in a number of quantitative (valve diameter, frequency of marginal fultoportulae) and qualitative (arrangement of spines) characteristics from the literature data. The distribution of the studied species throughout the lake is quite different. S. binatus ismet in the shallow and deep waters in the south (near Chulyshman River mouth) and north latitudinal parts of Lake Teletskoye, while S. minutulus is confined mainly to the northern part of the waterbody. S. makarovae is not found in the lake at all, though all the three species have been recorded in the phytoplankton of Lake Dzhulukul, located at the head of the Chulyshman River, the main tributary of Lake Teletskoye.They are revealed either in the phytoplankton of the upper, middle or lower parts of Lake Dzhulukul. The results of microscopic analysis for the presence of bioaerosols of 114 samples of precipitation (snow) taken during two cold periods (2015–2016 and 2016–2017) in the south of Western Siberia are presented. With the use of trajectory, synoptic, and map analyzes, the main regions were identified from which pollen grains and algae arrived with air masses and precipitated with atmospheric precipitation. The results of studying biological aerosols (pollen spectra) in precipitation registered in the south of Western Siberia in the winter of 2014/15 are presented. Pollen grains of birch (Betula sp.), willow (Salix sp.), pine (Pinus sp.), and poplar (Populus sp.) were identified in the three of 28 analyzed precipitation samples. The comprehensive analysis of synoptic conditions during precipitation, back trajectories of air masses calculated with the HYSPLIT model as well as the analysis of the Northern Hemisphere snow cover dynamics and the area of distribution of the identified taxa were carried out. The results allowed determining the Euro-Scandinavian region as the main source of pollen grains inflow with precipitation to the south of Western Siberia in March 2015. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper presents the results of seasonal potamoplankton dynamics in a Siberian lowland river and its relationships with environmental variables. The sampling was carried out every 10-15 days from April to September 2001 at the left and right banks including the midstream of the Upper Ob River close to the big industrial center,Barnaul city(53°21'24"N, 83°47'14"E). Thepresence of 145 species (158 taxa) with predominance of diatoms (45.6% of total number of species) and green algae (35.8%) was noted. Remarkable seasonal potamoplankton variations were revealed using measures of inclusions and amultigraph. The correlation analysis indicated that physical factors (e.g. hydrological variables) and major nutrients (e.g. nitrates) were of equal importance for controlling the variation in structure and abundance of the large lowland Upper Ob River potamoplankton. Based on the regional trophic classification, the Upper Ob River can be currently characterized as oligo-mesotrophic since the total abundance and biomass of algae were less than 1260×103 cells/L and 780 mg/m3 throughout the sampling seasons. The results of the saprobiologic analysis showed that the greatest number of bioindicators belong to β-mesosaprobionts that is indicative of the β-mesosaprobic environment. Water quality was ranked among I-III classes.Our study presents a baseline formonitoring theplanktonic component in the river ecosystem as a main factor of its stability. In spite of the regional aspect of the study, the investigation of potamoplankton in the environments of the south of West Siberia will be useful for understanding of phytoplankton development in large unregulated lowland rivers. Algae due to their nature tend to be cosmopolitan. In Lake Teletskoye phytoplankton three conditionally endemic, or neoendemic species, were collected – Cymbella kolbei Sheshukova, Surirella lepnevae Poretzky et Sheshukova and S. pusilla Sheshukova. The geological age of Lake Teletskoye as contrasted to the ancient world lakes is insignificant – 320,000 years. In origin Lake Teletskoye is similar to a fluvial valley and water in the lake is replaced every 5–7 years. This may be the reason why hydrobiont endemism in Teletskoye, including algae, is not pronounced. The abundance of endemic species in the lake as in the phytoplankton is very low.
