Cancer cells adeptly manipulate the tumor microenvironment (TME) to evade host antitumor immunity. However, the role of cancer cell-intrinsic signaling in shaping the immunosuppressive TME remains unclear. Here, we found that the Hippo pathway in cancer cells orchestrates the TME by influencing the composition of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). In a 4T1 mouse breast cancer model, Hippo pathway kinases, large tumor suppressor 1 and 2 (LATS1/2), promoted the formation of neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM1)+alpha-smooth muscle actin (αSMA)+ CAFs expressing the transforming growth factor-β, which is associated with T cell inactivation and dysfunction. Depletion of LATS1/2 in cancer cells resulted in a less immunosuppressive TME, indicated by the reduced proportions of NCAM1+αSMA+ CAFs and dysfunctional T cells. Notably, similar Hippo pathway-induced NCAM1+αSMA+ CAFs were observed in human breast cancer, highlighting the potential of TME-manipulating strategies to reduce immunosuppression in cancer immunotherapy. Background: The adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) has revolutionized healthcare delivery, offering potential benefits for enhancing the quality and safety of pediatric nursing care. However, the effective implementation and utilization of EHRs in pediatric settings present unique challenges. Objectives: This systematic review aims to critically analyze the available literature on the role of EHRs in improving various aspects of pediatric nursing care, including clinical documentation, medication management, care coordination, and patient engagement. Methods: A comprehensive search of multiple electronic databases (PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, and Cochrane Library) was conducted to identify relevant studies published between January 2000 and March 2023. Eligible studies included randomized controlled trials (RCTs), observational studies, and qualitative research investigating the impact of EHRs on pediatric nursing care outcomes. Study selection, data extraction, and quality assessment were performed by two independent reviewers. Results: Out of 1,257 records, 28 studies (12 RCTs, 10 observational, 6 qualitative) were included, involving 3,642 pediatric patients and 1,278 healthcare professionals. EHRs were associated with a 20% improvement in clinical documentation completeness. However, initial implementation was associated with increased documentation time. EHRs with computerized provider order entry (CPOE) reduced medication errors by 30%, but initial training challenges were noted. Redundant testing was reduced by 15%, and care continuity improved by 25% with EHR implementation. Key themes from qualitative research included increased patient involvement in care decisions and improved satisfaction with care processes. Conclusion: EHRs have the potential to enhance various aspects of pediatric nursing care, including improved documentation, medication management, care coordination, and patient engagement. Nonetheless, successful implementation requires addressing system usability, interoperability, and user acceptance through comprehensive training, workflow redesign, and ongoing technical support. Suturing techniques for wound closure in spine surgeries play a critical role in patient outcomes, including wound healing, reintervention, and risk of complications. Barbed sutures, characterized by their self-anchoring properties, have emerged as a potential alternative to conventional sutures in various surgical disciplines. While previous studies have underscored their efficacy and safety in spine surgeries, no meta-analysis has been conducted. Therefore, we are undertaking this study. Following the PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a literature search on electronic databases to obtain the relevant studies until May 5, 2024. Our primary outcomes were operative time, wound closure time, and postoperative wound complications like seroma or hematoma formation and wound infection. The secondary outcomes were the length of hospital stay, reintervention rates, and costs. Data was pooled using a random effects model. We included seven eligible studies with a total of 8645 patients. Our meta-analysis showed that barbed sutures had shorter operative time and wound closure time compared to conventional sutures (MD -20.13 min, 95% CI [-28.47, -11.78], P < 0.001) and (MD -16.36 min, 95% CI [-20.9, -11.82], P < 0.001), respectively. Both suturing techniques showed comparable results in terms of overall postoperative wound complications (RR 0.83, 95% CI [0.60, 1.14], P = 0.25), postoperative infections (RR 0.59, 95% CI [0.33, 1.06], P = 0.08), length of hospital stay (MD -0.26 day, 95% CI [-0.75, 0.22], P = 0.28), rates of reintervention between the two groups (RR 0.99, 95% CI [0.48, 2.05], P = 0.98). Barbed sutures in spine surgeries are associated with significantly shortened wound closure and operative times. Phyllostachys heterocycla is well-known for its high diversity of bioactive metabolites, which are the reason for its various potential medical uses for which anticancer activity has been proven. Herein, Phyllostachys heterocycla extract was prepared in two different metallic nanoparticle formulas such as iron oxide nanoparticle-boron, and iron oxide nanoparticle-humic acid (Fe2O3 NP-B and Fe2O3 NP-HA) with average particle sizes of 12.25 nm and 15.80 nm, respectively. Phyllostachys heterocycla extract and the two nano-formulas were investigated to obtain their cytotoxic activity. The crude extract exhibited potent cytotoxic activity against the ovarian (OVCAR-3) cancer cell line, with IC50 values of 16.3 µg/mL. In comparison, the two nano-loaded forms displayed a much more promising cytotoxic activity with IC50 values of 0.9 µg/mL for Fe2O3 NP-HA, and 6.4 µg/mL for Fe2O3 NP-B. Additionally, NP-HA and NP-B showed potent cytotoxic activities against prostate (PC-3) and pancreatic (Panc1) cancer cell lines with IC50 values of 2.31, 6.3 µg/mL for Fe2O3 NP-HA, and 14.9, 16.8 µg/mL for Fe2O3 NP-B. For apoptosis investigation, Fe2O3 NP-HA induced total ovarian apoptotic cell death by a 87.34-fold change, and necrosis by 1.29-fold change. Regarding cell cycle analysis, Fe2O3 NP-HA-PHE arrested the cell proliferation of OVCAR-3 cells in S-phase, with an increased cell population at S-phase of 42.6%. Additionally, it confirmed the apoptosis mechanism by inhibiting the antiapoptotic gene and activating the proapoptotic gene markers. Moreover, upon continuation of our phytochemical investigation of the plant, additional chemical components of the crude extract of Phyllostachys heterocycla were isolated using various chromatographic techniques. As a result, six compounds were isolated. By using different spectroscopic data, the chemical structures of the pure isolated compounds were assigned as stigmasterol (1), glyceryl monobehenate (2), vanillic acid (3), ferulic acid (4), catechin (5), and thymidine (6). These isolated compounds were previously reported for their potent cytotoxic activities against panel of cancer cell lines including pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer cell lines (Ferulic acid), beside the anti-tumor potential against ovarian cell lines (Stigmasterol). In addition to the cytotoxic activity against human larynx carcinoma HepG-2 cell lines (Catechin), human breast cancer MCF7 (Thymidine), and human colon cancer cell line HT-29 (Vanillic acid). Background: Laryngeal cancer is a prevalent malignancy in the head and neck region, often diagnosed at an advanced stage. The role of thyroidectomy in managing advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) remains controversial due to inconsistent findings regarding the incidence and predictors of thyroid invasion. Aim of the work: This meta-analysis aims to assess the incidence of thyroid invasion in patients with advanced laryngeal cancer and recognize hazard facets for thyroid invasion to elucidate the need for thyroidectomy. The study also aims to decrease the happening of postoperative hypothyroidism and supply guidance for individualized treatment approaches. Patients and methods: A comprehensive search was conducted, and the meta-analysis included 6 studies encompassing 852 patients. Data regarding patient demographics, tumor characteristics, and incidence of thyroid invasion were extracted and analyzed. Results: The meta-analysis revealed a mean age of 57.7 years among patients with advanced laryngeal cancer, with a male predominance of 94.6%. Thyroid invasion occurred in 13.3% of patients who underwent complete laryngectomy. Subglottic tumor site and T4 classification were identified as significant risk factors for thyroid invasion, while supraglottis and glottis tumor sites and T3 classification were associated with reduced risk. The odds ratio for thyroid invasion was highest for patients with T4 stage tumors. Conclusion: Thyroidectomy during total laryngectomy should be considered for patients with subglottic tumor sites and T4 classification due to the increased risk of thyroid invasion. Patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) are at higher risk of cardiovascular events, particularly acute myocardial infarction (MI). Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) can improve cardiac outcomes among heart failure individuals, however, the effects on acute myocardial infarction remain unclear. This meta-analysis investigates the impact of empagliflozin in diabetic patients following acute myocardial infarction. We comprehensively searched PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane, and Web of Science through August 10th, 2023. We included studies comparing empagliflozin versus placebo in diabetes patients with acute myocardial infarction. We used Revman to report the data as mean difference (MD) and 95% confidence interval (CI), and our effect size with a random effects model. Additionally, we performed Trial Sequential Analysis (TSA) to test the robustness of the results. The study protocol was published on PROSPERO with ID: CRD42023447733. Five studies with a total of 751 patients were included in our analysis. Empagliflozin was effective to improve LVEF% (MD: 1.80, 95% CI [0.50, 3.10], p = 0.007), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) (MD: -9.93, 95% CI [−16.07, −3.80], p = 0.002), and left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV) (MD: -7.91, 95% CI [−11.93, −3.88], p = 0.0001). However, there was no difference between empagliflozin and placebo groups in terms of NT-pro BNP (MD: - 136.59, 95% CI [−293.43, 20.25], p = 0.09), and HbA1c (MD: -0.72, 95% CI [−1.73, 0.29], p = 0.16). Additionally, empagliflozin did not prevent hospitalization due to heart failure (RR: 0.59, 95% CI [0.16, 2.24], p = 0.44, I-squared = 0%), and mortality (RR: 1.34, 95% CI [0.15,11.90], p = 0.79, I-squared = 25%). Empagliflozin initiation in diabetic patients following acute MI may improve echocardiographic parameters. However, empagliflozin might not be effective in heart failure prevention and optimal glycemic control in this patient population. Further large-scale trials are warranted to ascertain our findings. Antibiotic resistance is currently becoming a more serious threat to global health, especially in severe nosocomial infections treatment by multidrug-resistant bacteria. This research provides a new way of synergizing green-synthesis for zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO-QDs with hexagonal crystals) that are 7 nm in diameter and zero-valent Ag cubic crystals that are 67 nm in size embedded with nitazoxanide substrate (NAZ). Instrumental characterization like SEM, TEM, EDAX, and FT-IR and comprehensive antimicrobial studies were conducted to study the incorporation behavior of composites based on Ag NPs/ZnO QDs/NAZ. This combination has not been hitherto addressed anywhere else in the published literature, as well as commercial viability. In this context, we have precisely tuned nanoparticle to nitazoxanide ratio for designing the formulation demonstrating potent activity against MDR infections. By employing nitazoxanide as a scaffold and careful decoration thereof antimicrobial potency has been unlocked overriding conventional therapies. In addition, Ag NPs/ZnO-QDs/nitazoxanide (G6) formula exhibited a therapeutic efficacy span of 96.15 ± 1.68% to 99.57 ± 0.20% against MDR human infections post 48 h incubation; a breakthrough in therapeutic efficacy levels has been achieved by our method. Genetic characterization and its association with quantitative traits in local breeds are important tools for the genetic improvement and sustainable management of animal genetic resources. Myogenic regulatory factor 5 (MYf5) and POU class 1 homeobox 1 (POU1F1) are candidate genes which play important roles in growth and development of mammals. The present study aims to detect the genetic diversity of the MYf5 and POU1F1 genes in four local Egyptian rabbit breeds and their association with growth traits, using PCR-restriction enzyme (PCR–RFLP), PCR-single-strand conformational polymorphism (PCR–SSCP), and direct sequencing techniques. The results showed that MYF5 exon 1 was observed with two genotypes in Baladi Black (BB), Gabali (GB) and New Zealand White (NZW) breeds while APRI-line (APRI) presented one genotype. The genetic diversity of Myf5 exon 2 between breeds showed two genotypes in APRI compared to three in NZW and four genotypes in BB and GB breeds. The genetic diversity of the POU1F1 gene (intron 5 and partial cds) in different rabbit breeds was two genotypes in NZW and three genotypes in BB, GB, and APRI breeds with different frequencies for each genotype. Based on the statistically significant difference between genes genotypes and growth weight, the results suggested that the genotypes of Myf5 exon 2 (1 and 2) of the BB breed, Myf5 exon 2 genotype 2 of the APRI breed, and genotype 1 of Myf5 exon 1 and genotype 1 of POU1F1 of the NZW breed compared to genotypes for each gene can be considered candidate molecular markers associated with the improvement of growth traits in these breeds. We will study the transmission of double-hump solitons of the coupled Manakov equations (CME) that have unlimited position for the generation and amplification of double-hump solitons in fiber lasers. These double-hump soliton solutions of CME will be extracted by using three ansatz techniques that are prepared for this target. The first one has profile name the solitary wave ansatz method (SWAM), while the second one has profile name the extended simple equation method (ESEM) and the third one has profile name the Paul-Painlevé approach method (PPAM). This research introduces a novel hybrid system integrating solar drying, solar distillation, and photovoltaic thermal panels, aimed at drying agricultural products, producing clean drinking water, and conserving energy. The system enhances the drying air temperature using thermal energy storage materials and a solar dish concentrator connected to a hot water storage tank, ensuring continuous operation even after sunset. The solar distiller, equipped with energy storage materials and an air injection system, is integrated with an external condenser to condense water vapor before expulsion, thereby increasing freshwater productivity. The results revealed that the developed system achieved an accumulative freshwater productivity of 87.1 L per day. The rates of water removal from dried potato slices ranged from 0.18 to 0.91 kg/h between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. Additionally, the system achieved a gain output ratio of 1.38, indicating a significant improvement in energy efficiency. This innovative system offers practical solutions to address energy and freshwater scarcity, especially in remote regions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which are characterized by high solar irradiance. Background: Thrombophilias are characterized by excessive venous and arterial thrombosis at regular or unusual sites. It may result from inherited, acquired, or a combination. Hereditary thrombophilia (HT) is detected in 30–40% of patients with thromboembolism. Venous/arterial thrombosis is considered a multifactorial disorder, some patients may have more than one risk factor which may be transient or permanent. Objectives: Assess the clinical characteristics of patients with unprovoked thromboembolic events and the role of inherited thrombophilia as a causative or additive risk factor. Methods: 210 consecutive adult patients with unprovoked thromboembolic events were reviewed in hematology units at three tertiary Egyptian centers between September 2022 and September 2023. The diagnosis of thromboembolic events was confirmed by clinical and radiological findings. Laboratory screening for thrombophilia-associated. Results: Among our patients, 53(25.2%) patients presented with isolated DVT, followed by portal vein thrombosis, 32(15.2%) had a pulmonary embolism, and sagittal sinus thrombosis was developed in 23(10.9%) patients. Conclusion: Younger people who experience spontaneous thromboembolism run the chance of having hereditary thrombophilia; the more mutations discovered, the higher the risk of thrombosis; the lower leg and deep vein thrombosis were the most common sites. Background: The diagnosis of auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder (ANSD) is based on the existence of cochlear microphonics or otoacoustic emissions, as well as aberrant or nonexistent-evoked auditory brainstem responses. The outcomes of cochlear implantation (CI) are thought to be significantly influenced by genetic reasons in ANSD. Objective: The purpose of this systematic review was to gather more information regarding the relationship between various genetic variants and the outcomes of cochlear implantation in adult and pediatric patients with ANSD (both syndromic and non-syndromic). Methods: Electronic databases "Medline/PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Europe PMC, and Cochrane Library" were searched for this systematic review. For cohort studies, the Newcastle–Ottawa scale (NOS score) was used to assess the quality of the retrieved research. The standardized mean difference produced by the Cohen's d or Hedges' g tests was used to assess the effect size measure. Results: This comprehensive study showed that OTOF, GJB2, ATPA3, and OPA1 were among the genetic variants with improved CI outcomes. On the other hand, other genetic mutations displayed variable results (TMPRSS3) or worse CI outcomes (PJVK). For OTOF mutations, CI had a moderate effect (Hedges' g = 0.7), which led to good cochlear implant outcomes. The results of the GJB2 cochlear implant showed a significant effect size when pre- and post-implant assessments were compared. The results of CI for TMPRSS3 mutations were inconsistent, with one study demonstrating a negligible effect (Hedges' g = 0.2), and another study found a negative impact (Hedges' g = − 2.17). Poor CI results were indicated by PJVK mutations impacting CI outcomes. A significant impact was observed when comparing pre- and postimplantation outcomes (Cohen's d > 1) in cases of ATP1A3 mutations (CAPOS syndrome) and OPA1 mutations. In addition, early implantation produced better results than late implantation in certain genetic variations. Conclusion: Some genetic variants, such as OTOF, GJB2, ATPA3, and OPA1, had improved CI outcomes, according to data extraction and synthesis of the systematic review's findings. B3LYP was employed as a density functional to inspect the impact of Mn doping on the ability of graphyne (Gr) in the delivery of the propylthiouracil (PTU) drug. The interaction between the pure Gr and PTU was weak. Doping of the Mn metal into the Gr surface raised the PTU adhesion energy from −6.1 to −28.3 kcal mol−1, and PTU prefers to attach through its O atom to an Mn of the Mn-doped Gr (Mn@Gr). The analysis of partial density-of-states demonstrated that Mn substantially contributes to generating the virtual orbitals of Mn@Gr. It indicates the suitability of Mn, in contrast to the C atoms of Gr, for the nucleophilic attack. In addition to substantial energy release, the electronic properties of Mn@Gr were appreciably sensitive to the attachment of PTU, making it possible for recognizing the trajectory of the drug. A drug release mechanism was provided in cancer tissues, demonstrating that in cancer cells with a low pH, PTU and Mn@Gr were protonated significantly, thus separating PTU from the surface of Gr. Finally, there was a change in the reaction mechanism of PTU with Mn@Gr from covalent bonding in the natural environment to the H-bonding in the acidic environment of cancerous cells. Purpose of Review: This review critically analyzes the recent literature on virtual reality's (VR) use in acute and chronic pain management, offering insights into its efficacy, applications, and limitations. Recent Findings: Recent studies, including meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials, have demonstrated VR's effectiveness in reducing pain intensity in various acute pain scenarios, such as procedural/acute pain and in chronic pain conditions. The role of factors such as immersion and presence in enhancing VR's efficacy has been emphasized. Further benefits have been identified in the use of VR for assessment as well as symptom gathering through conversational avatars. However, studies are limited, and strong conclusions will require further investigation. Summary: VR is emerging as a promising non-pharmacological intervention in pain management for acute and chronic pain. However, its long-term efficacy, particularly in chronic pain management, remains an area requiring further research. Plants encounter many biotic entities, such as fungi, bacteria, and nematodes, which induce biotic stress that disrupts normal metabolism and limits the growth and productivity of plants. Currently, the use of plant growth-promoting bacterial endophytes instead of synthetic fungicides is intriguingly eco-friendly. An in vitro and in vivo antagonistic approach using Bacillus amyloliquefaciens RaSh1 was used to mimic the pathogenic effect of Alternaria alternata. The results showed that B. amyloliquefaciens significantly inhibited pathogenic fungal growth in vitro. Further, Capsicum annuum L. (pepper plants) were grown and subjected to inoculation with B. amyloliquefaciens and infected with A. alternata, and then the growth attributes, photosynthetic pigments, physio-biochemical parameters, and the level of endogenous phytohormones were assessed. Under the pathogen attack, the main responses, such as plant length, total fresh and dry weights, total chlorophylls, and pigments, were reduced, accompanied by increases in H2O2. As well, infection of pepper with A. alternata caused downregulation in the plant hormonal system by significantly decreasing gibberellins, indole-3-acetic acid, abscisic acid, as well as cytokinin concentrations. Although, with B. amyloliquefaciens application, an enhancement in growth, photosynthetic pigments, proline, thiol content, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, and peroxidase in pepper plant leaves appeared while the content of H2O2 decreased. Endogenous phytohormones were found to be upregulated in B. amyloliquefaciens-inoculated and diseased plants. The current study found that B. amyloliquefaciens RaSh1 rescued pepper plant growth by modulating antioxidant defense and regulating hormones, and could be used to control A. alternata in an environmentally friendly manner while maintaining sustainable agriculture and food security. The research aimed to examine the enhancement effect of Spirulina platensis (blue–green microalga or Cyanobacterium) and Chlorella vulgaris (green microalga) water extracts as biological stimulant in improving growth parameters, chlorophyll content, yield, and fruit quality of tomato plants under salinity stress. Tomato seeds (Solanum lycopersicum L of cv. Agyad) were soaked in three microalgae water extracts at a 10% concentration (Chlorella vulgaris, Spirulina platensis, and Chlorella: Spirulina at a ratio of 1:1). Chemical and biochemical analyses for the used materials and products were achieved. After germination, tomato transplants were irrigated with saline water at three levels of saline water (2, 4, and 7 dS/m) using sea salt. Successive grown tomato transplant at 7.0 dS/cm were infused in clayey soil. The grown plants were prayed by algal extract and irrigated by the same solution. Vegetative growth, yield, shelf life, and chlorophylls (a and b) were determined. It was found that the highest vegetative growth, yield, and chlorophyll content were measured in tomato transplants with the Spirulina: Chlorella mixture, followed by Spirulina platensis and Chlorella vulgaris water extracts, all of these measurements increased significantly in response to microalgae treatments. Experimental tomato fruits of Chlorella and mixture treatments can stay for 45 days at room temperature. Both algal extracts and their mixture enhanced the bioaccumulation of micronutrients (Fe, Zn, Mn, and Cu) compared with the control, while Chlorella extract surpassed Spirulina and mixture extracts. Frequency-Area Distribution (FAD) analyses were introduced to landslides research since the early 2000's. This technique is a powerful tool that allows assessing the completeness of landslide inventory maps (LIM), used to build both landslides susceptibility and landslides hazard assessment models. However, FAD analyses are not commonly used in such studies despite the significant potential of the technique. The long processing steps needed to generate FAD curves, which involve logarithmic binning and iterative model fitting using various statistical tools, constitutes an energy and time-consuming task that pushes many researchers away from using the technique. In fact, no fully automatic tool capable of generating FAD curves and models exists as of July 2023. Therefore, we attempt to provide a fully automatic computer program capable of binning, fitting FAD curves and assessing their goodness of fit to theoretical models in a fully automatic, one step process. An example is provided using real data from Taounate province, Northern Morocco, so as to demonstrate the ability of the tool to deal with exhaustive datasets. In addition, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, goodness of fit test is added to provide an objective assessment of the data fitting, which constitutes a better alternative to the subjective visual assessment that most landslides researchers rely on. Cadmium (Cd) is a dangerous heavy metal that is non-degradable in the environment. Many organs can accumulate Cd and adversely affect organ function and health. Cd is considered as a teratogenic and embryotoxic agent. This study aims to evaluate the teratogenicity of Cd at concentrations lesser than the permissible and its effects on the heart during chick embryogenesis. Fertilized eggs of the chick Gallus domesticus were divided into; control, saline injected and four experimental groups injected with single doses of 5, 25, 50 or 75 µM of CdCl2. Histological observations of the heart before hatching and the cardiomyocytes after hatching were recorded. Morphometric measurements of heart chambers were achieved at 3, 4 and 6 days of incubation. Electrocardiograph and respiratory rate were recorded at tenth day. Different cardiac problems had been brought on by Cd. In comparison to controls, the heart looked much larger, and in certain cases, growth retardation was seen. Degeneration in heart walls and malformations of dorsal aorta were noticed. Morphometrically, the width and wall thickness of heart chambers showed significant changes. Heart beats and respiratory rate significantly decreased compared to control. The cardiotoxic effect of Cd on heart compartments structure and function was dose dependent. One of Cd toxicity is its ability to induce cellular oxidative stress. This study was conducted to examine the influence of dietary supplementation of biological nano-selenium (BNSe) on productive performance, hematology, blood chemistry, antioxidant status, immune response, cecal microbiota, and carcass traits of quails. In total, 180 Japanese quails (1 week old) were randomly allocated into four groups, with five replicates of nine chicks each in a complete randomized design. The 1st group was fed a control diet without BNSe, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th treatments were fed diets supplemented with BNSe (0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 g /kg feed, respectively). The best level of BNSe in body weight (BW) and body weight gain (BWG) parameters was 0.4 g/kg diet. Feed conversion was improved (P < 0.01) by adding BNSe in quail feed compared with the basal diet without any supplementation. The inclusion of different BNSe levels (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 g/kg) exhibited an insignificant influence on all carcass traits. The dietary addition of BNSe (0.4 and 0.6 g/kg) significantly augmented aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity (P = 0.0127), total protein and globulin (P < 0.05), white blood cells (WBCs) (P = 0.031), and red blood cells (RBCs) (P = 0.0414) compared with the control. The dietary BNSe supplementation significantly improved lipid parameters, antioxidant and immunological indices, and increased selenium level in the blood (P < 0.05). BNSe significantly increased (P = 0.0003) lactic acid bacteria population number and lowered the total number of yeasts, molds, total bacterial count, E. coli, Coliform, Salmonella, and Enterobacter (P < 0.0001). Background: Standardization of procedures for data abstraction by cancer registries is fundamental for cancer surveillance, clinical and policy decision-making, hospital benchmarking, and research efforts. The objective of the current study was to evaluate adherence to the four components (completeness, comparability, timeliness, and validity) defined by Bray and Parkin that determine registries' ability to carry out these activities to the hospital-based National Cancer Database (NCDB). Methods: Tbis study used data from U.S. Cancer Statistics, the official federal cancer statistics and joint effort between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which includes data from National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) to evaluate NCDB completeness between 2016 and 2020. The study evaluated comparability of case identification and coding procedures. It used Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards from 2022 to assess timeliness and validity. Results: Completeness was demonstrated with a total of 6,828,507 cases identified within the NCDB, representing 73.7% of all cancer cases nationwide. Comparability was followed using standardized and international guidelines on coding and classification procedures. For timeliness, hospital compliance with timely data submission was 92.7%. Validity criteria for re-abstracting, recording, and reliability procedures across hospitals demonstrated 94.2% compliance. Additionally, data validity was shown by a 99.1% compliance with histologic verification standards, a 93.6% assessment of pathologic synoptic reporting, and a 99.1% internal consistency of staff credentials. Conclusion: The NCDB is characterized by a high level of case completeness and comparability with uniform standards for data collection, and by hospitals with high compliance, timely data submission, and high rates of compliance with validity standards for registry and data quality evaluation. The current study aimed to evaluate the serum levels of nitric oxide (NO) and adropin in males with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced erectile dysfunction (ED) and NAFLD patients without ED and controls. The current study selected 165 participants from the hepatology department from November 2021 to November 2022. The patients were either suffering from NAFLD with normal liver functions or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis with abnormal liver functions. They were diagnosed by abdominal ultrasonography. Participants were evaluated using the validated Arabic version of the International Index of Erectile Function (ArIIEF-5), the Arabic form of the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) questionnaire and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Noteworthy, there were significant positive correlations between ArIIEF-5 score, NO, adropin and total testosterone (r = 0.380, p = 0.001; r = 0.507, p = < 0.001; r = 0.246, p = 0.038, respectively). Meanwhile, there were significant negative correlations between ArIIEF-5 score, creatinine, duration of the disease and scores of GAD-7 and PHQ-9 (r = -0.656, p = < 0.001; r = -0.368, p = 0.002; r = -0.663, p = < 0.001; r = -0.248, p = 0.037, respectively). Finally, a linear regression analysis revealed that GAD-7, creatinine, and adropin were the only strong independent predictors of ArIIEF-5, as the 95% confidence interval in the form of upper and lower bounds was -0.349, -0.843, p < 0.001, -6.507, -18.402, p < 0.001, 0.476, 0.117, and p 0.002, respectively. The relationship between solar magnetic activity and solar wind parameters, with observed time-delayed mutual coupling, is an outstanding challenge in space physics. In this study, drawing inspiration from recent observations, we propose a reconciliation framework whose fundamentals stand in the Parker model for solar wind expansion. We investigate the effects on fluctuations in solar wind speed when linearly sustained by an oscillating magnetic solar dynamo described via a modified Van der Pol nonlinear oscillator mimicking the magnetic activity at different timescales. Our findings reveal the presence of a “space-climatic feedback” that, in absence of the driving magnetic activity, slows down solar wind velocity fluctuations. The combined action of the slowing down of fluctuations and a periodic driving is the responsible for the time-delay between solar magnetic activity and solar wind dynamics. Furthermore, we also demonstrate how the space-climatic feedback controls the value of the time-delay which depends on the different periodicities of the driving magnetic activity. This holistic approach provides a formal link at the interplay between solar magnetic activity and solar wind dynamics through the interplanetary space which can advance our understanding of long-term effects of solar activity on solar wind variations, and consequently on interactions with planetary environments. Background: Migraine disease is a chronic headache disorder characterized by recurrent attacks. Migraine and vestibular disorders are common associations. The exact pathophysiology is still unknown. Objectives: To study the results of vHIT and VNG in dizzy migraineurs. Methods: This is a case-control study that included 140 subjects 70 of them were migraine patients with vestibular symptoms, while the other 70 were a control group of healthy subjects matched in age. A full history with pure tone audiometry and tympanogram for hearing evaluation was done for both groups then videonystagmography and the video head impulse tests were done. Results: The vHIT results showed that there were no significant differences among control and study groups regarding the VOR gain and gain asymmetry with no corrective saccades recorded in patients or control groups that denote the VOR is intact. The VNG test revealed in OPK and saccade tests that there was a significant difference between the control and the study groups. A positive weak correlation between vHIT and caloric test results in the left lateral and posterior canal gain in the study group. A novel chelating adsorbent based on (3-iminodiacetic acid) propyltriethoxysilane graphene oxide (IAT-GO) has been developed, showing exceptional promise for capturing lead. IAT-GO is made by combining a high-surface-area graphene oxide with a specially designed chelating ligand, which can selectively and efficiently remove lead. The synthesis of IAT-GO involves a two-step progression. In the first step, covalent bonds form between graphene oxide and (3-aminopropyl)-triethoxysilane (AT) through hydrolysis, condensation, and epoxide ring opening reactions. In the second step, nucleophilic substitution reactions occur between the primary amines and chloroacetic acid (CAA). A comprehensive suite of characterization techniques, including XPS, UV–Vis, XRD, Raman, FTIR, TEM, and SEM, provides detailed insights into the IAT-GO adsorbent's chemical composition and physical form, elucidating its intricate structure and morphology. Optimizing the experimental conditions for using the adsorbent material to remove Pb(II) ions from contaminated water revealed a maximum adsorption capacity of 124.0 mg/g at pH 5 and 30 min. The IAT-GO displays high selectivity for Pb(II) in a mixture of six metal ions containing 100 ppm of each one. Moreover, the IAT-GO shows 100% removal of Pb(II) for concentrations lower than 50 ppm. The excellent fit of the experimental data with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic models (R2 > 99%) indicates that Pb(II) ion uptake onto the IAT-GO surface occurs via the monolayer formation of mercury ions. IAT-GO demonstrates exceptional potential as an innovative adsorbent for lead-contaminated water. Nitric acid (0.4 M) effectively regenerates the material, while its reusability remains impressive even after five cycles (> 97% removal efficiency). Introduction: Significant hepatic steatosis affects the outcome of surgery when living donors are transplanted. The gold standard for diagnosing and evaluating hepatic steatosis is hepatic imaging-guided biopsy. Hepatic steatosis assessment using MR spectroscopy and the proton density fat fraction (MR-PDFF) method has produced positive findings. Objectives: Is to compare the pre-operative assessment of liver fat quantification using MRI-PDFF methods, a non-invasive method, with histopathology. Subjects and methods: A 42 potential donors were then operated surgically for liver transplantation, consequently, were available for the assessment of the efficiency and sensitivity of the radiological findings MRI-PDFF procedures and imaging-guided liver biopsy. This radiological workup of these donors was done through a period of 7 months. Results: In many liver transplantations centers, liver imaging-guided biopsy histopathological examination is the gold standard. The study examined the MR proton density fat fraction modality, a recently developed test for hepatic steatosis measurement. The findings indicate 86.8% sensitivity, 50% specificity, 94.2% PDV, 28.5% NPV, 83.3% accuracy, and 0.684 AUC. On analyzing the fat percent, we found that the recorded fat percent using liver imaging-guided biopsy ranges between 1 and 10% with a median of 3. On the other hand, the recorded fat percent using MRI ranged between 2 and 15% with a median of 5. Conclusion: The non-invasive magnetic resonance hepatic proton density fat fraction approach using IDEAL sequence is a reliable and accurate means of quantitatively evaluating hepatic steatosis with excellent sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Background: Schizophrenia is a prevalent psychiatric disorder that affects 1% of the global population. Schizophrenia frequently begins in late adolescence or early adulthood, causing significant educational, social, and economic costs for people and society. Aim of the work: The purpose of this work was to evaluate the added value of combined ASL-perfusion MRI and MRS in schizophrenic patients. Methods: This prospective case–control study was carried out on two groups: First group was 30 patients who were diagnosed clinically as schizophrenic patients, and second group was 20 healthy volunteers as a control group for comparison in the period from August 2021 till July 2022. Results: The majority of newly diagnosed cases had significant higher positive symptoms than chronic cases. According to arterial spin labelling (ASL) data, rCBF was noticed to be reduced in anterior cingulate, frontal lobe, and parietal lobe of both patients' subgroups but more significant in chronically ill patients. Convergent results of decreased rCBF were also found in the parietal lobe and occipital lobe. Magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis showed that NAA was decreased in the anterior cingulate cortex, thalami and basal ganglia of the newly diagnosed cases more than chronic cases. The ASL-MRI perfusion accurately detected the hypo-perfusion of different brain regions with sensitivity 100%, specificity 66.67%, positive predictive value 96.43%, negative predictive value 100%, and accuracy 96.67%, while MR spectroscopy showed sensitivity 100%, specificity 33.33%, positive predictive value 93.10%, negative predictive value 100%, and accuracy 93.33% in evaluation of changes of brain metabolites. Conclusion: ASL is a promising functional MRI technique that can produce together with MRS quantitative information about the metabolites of different brain regions. The ASL-MRI appears as a reliable non-invasive technique to measure cerebral blood flow and identify decreased rCBF without any contrast administration, and it could be repeatable which helps in early diagnosis as well as follow-up of the progression of the disease. Disasters can be man-made events, accidental events, or a natural catastrophes. These events create emergencies that require rapid responses. One source of timely information about disasters is provided by social media postings which often provide on-site information about a disaster. An ideally suited social media tool for disaster information is Twitter due to the sort message format. This format enables the rapid composition of short messages by entities close to a disaster describing the nature of the disaster. The contents of the messages can then be used to guide emergency responses. The aim of this paper is to review the research on the usage of Twitter for emergency management that has been published so far. There are three steps required when using messages for information about disasters. The first step is to collect the data contained in the messages. The solar wind, representing one of the most impacting phenomena in the circum-terrestrial space, constitutes one of the several manifestations of the magnetic activity of the Sun. With the aim of shedding light on the scales beyond the rotational period of the Sun (i.e., Space Climate scales), this study investigates the phase relationship of a solar activity physical proxy, the Ca II K index, with solar wind properties measured near the Earth, over the whole space era (last five solar cycles). Using a powerful tool such as the Hilbert–Huang transform, we investigate the dependence of their phase coherence on the obtained time scale components. Phase coherence at the same time scales is found between all the components and is also preserved between adjacent components with time scales ≳ 2 yrs. Finally, given the availability of the intrinsic modes of oscillation, we explore how the relationship of Ca II K index with solar wind parameters depends on the time scale considered. According to our results, we hypothesize the presence of a bifurcation in the phase-space Ca II K index vs. solar wind speed (dynamic pressure), where the time scale seems to act as a bifurcation parameter. This concept may be pivotal for unraveling the complex interplay between solar activity and solar wind, bearing implications from the prediction and the interpretation point of view in Space Climate studies. A large number of real-world optimization problems can be formulated as Mixed Integer Linear Programs (MILP). MILP solvers expose numerous configuration parameters to control their internal algorithms. Solutions, and their associated costs or runtimes, are significantly affected by the choice of the configuration parameters, even when problem instances have the same number of decision variables and constraints. On one hand, using the default solver configuration leads to suboptimal solutions. On the other hand, searching and evaluating a large number of configurations for every problem instance is time-consuming and, in some cases, infeasible. In this study, we aim to predict configuration parameters for unseen problem instances that yield lower-cost solutions without the time overhead of searching-and-evaluating configurations at the solving time. Toward that goal, we first investigate the cost correlation of MILP problem instances that come from the same distribution when solved using different configurations. We show that instances that have similar costs using one solver configuration also have similar costs using another solver configuration in the same runtime environment. After that, we present a methodology based on Deep Metric Learning to learn MILP similarities that correlate with their final solutions' costs. At inference time, given a new problem instance, it is first projected into the learned metric space using the trained model, and configuration parameters are instantly predicted using previously-explored configurations from the nearest neighbor instance in the learned embedding space. Empirical results on real-world problem benchmarks show that our method predicts configuration parameters that improve solutions' costs by up to 38% compared to existing approaches. Parkinson's disease is characterized by a multifactorial nature that is linked to different pathways. Among them, the abnormal deposition and accumulation of α-synuclein fibrils is considered a neuropathological hallmark of Parkinson's disease. Several synthetic and natural compounds have been tested for their potency to inhibit the aggregation of α-synuclein. However, the molecular mechanisms responsible for the potency of these drugs to further rationalize their development and optimization are yet to be determined. To enhance our understanding of the structural requirements necessary for modulating the aggregation of α-synuclein fibrils, we retrieved a large dataset of α-synuclein inhibitors with their reported potency from the ChEMBL database to explore their chemical space and to generate QSAR models for predicting new bioactive compounds. The best performing QSAR model was applied to the LOTUS natural products database to screen for potential α-synuclein inhibitors followed by a pharmacophore design using the representative compounds sampled from each cluster in the ChEMBL dataset. Five natural products were retained after molecular docking studies displaying a binding affinity of − 6.0 kcal/mol or lower. ADMET analysis revealed satisfactory properties and predicted that all the compounds can cross the blood–brain barrier and reach their target. Finally, molecular dynamics simulations demonstrated the superior stability of LTS0078917 compared to the clinical candidate, Anle138b. We found that LTS0078917 shows promise in stabilizing the α-synuclein monomer by specifically binding to its hairpin-like coil within the N-terminal region. Our dynamic analysis of the inhibitor-monomer complex revealed a tendency towards a more compact conformation, potentially reducing the likelihood of adopting an elongated structure that favors the formation and aggregation of pathological oligomers. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of probiotic Lactiplantibacillus plantarum S61 and prebiotic Xylooligosaccharide (XOS) on the physicochemical (pH, Titratable acidity, and °Brix), functional (color, total phenolic content, antioxidant activity, Vitamin C content), and sensory properties of orange juice during fermentation at 37 °C for 48 h. The fermented juice displayed favorable physicochemical characteristics (pH, Titratable acidity, and °Brix), important growth of the probiotic L. plantarum S61 (p < 0.05), and enhanced color and shelf life of the final product. The results showed that the values of total phenolic content, antioxidant activities, and Vitamin C range between 55.33 and 38.50 µM, 50.68–63.57%, and 17.5-23.75 mg/100 g, respectively, at the end of the fermentation. Furthermore, Probiotic and prebiotic supplementation enhanced significantly (p < 0.05) the total phenolic content, and antioxidant activity, and preserved the degradation of Vitamin C during fermentation. Moreover, there were no significant differences between the formulations regarding color, texture, and overall acceptance (p > 0.05). Consequently, the orange juice supplemented Xylooligosaccharide (prebiotic) and probiotic cultures could be applied to develop a new non-dairy synbiotic beverage product with important and high functional values and acceptance sensory properties. Many industries and academia have devoted a lot of effort and money to creating and/or using good extract-transform-load (ETL) software suitable for their data analysis purposes since it is considered a key to their success. As a result, we find the valuable interventions of research efforts based on ETL software are divided according to well-known approaches such as Business Intelligence, Big Data, and/or Semantic. As a result, problems arise in keeping up with changes and handling the significant diversity in features across these approaches. Which results in disorientation in the finding, evaluation, and choice of an ETL for industries and academia facing their approaches needs. These problems inspire us to provide a contribution that uses the systematic-literature-review (SLR) method to collect 207 papers from three databases, namely, ScienceDirect, Springer, and IEEE, dated from 2010 to 2022, grouped based on both ETL approaches and their commonly used criteria, afterwards using an existing method that automatically identifies the adequate multicriteria method for this study, which gives us the analytical-hierarchy-process method to provide the best research paper according to the requirements of scientific literature. Due to limited data on the pathogenicity of Prohemistomum vivax (P. vivax) and its impacts on fish health, this study aimed to determine the morphological, molecular characteristics, pathogenicity, and histopathological alterations in fish infected with P. vivax. Eight hundred (800) Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were collected from various farms in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate. The fish were examined for encysted metacercariae (EMC) in different organs. Tissue specimens were collected and underwent histopathological analysis, expression of stress-related genes, and genetic characterization by sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2). P. vivax metacercariae were oval to round in shape and were collected from various organs including the muscle, skin, eyes, intestine, liver, kidney, and gills of infected O. niloticus. Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of the ITS2 region revealed a 507-bp fragment, confirming parasite identity and matching within the same clade as other P. vivax isolates. Infected fish displayed abdominal hydropsy, skin darkening, and emaciation. P. vivax encysted metacercariae were detected during the study period in 620/800 fish, with an overall prevalence of 77.5%. The seasonal prevalence was 95% in summer, 85% in spring, 55% in autumn, and 75% in winter. The intensity of infection was 1–40 cysts per microscopic field. Histopathological examination of muscles revealed parasitic cysts embedded within muscle fibers, causing severe degeneration and necrosis. Upregulation of cytochrome P450 (cpy1a1), heat shock protein 70 (hsp-70), and tumor suppressor p53 (p53) was recorded in both liver and muscle samples of infected tilapia compared to controls. This indicates activation of detoxification, cellular stress, and apoptotic pathways in response to P. vivax infection. This work is concerned with the cyanide removal from aqueous solution by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide H2O2 catalyzed by copper zinc oxide (CuO-ZnO) nanoparticles prepared by co-precipitation method. The influences of catalyst dose, hydrogen peroxide concentration, temperature, and catalyst stability on cyanide removal were examined. The use of CuO-ZnO nanoparticles made it possible to increase the reaction rate, thus showing good catalytic activity. The cyanide removal percentage was increased after 75 minutes of reaction time from 70% to 100% by raising the catalyst dose from 0.25 g/L to 1.0 g/L. Increasing the temperature from 24 °C to 35 °C enhanced cyanide removal rate, the apparent activation energy was then found to be equal to 48 KJ/mol. The nanocatalyst was used again for four successive times and exhibited good stability. The kinetics of cyanide elimination was found to be pseudo-first order with respect to cyanide. The current investigation introduces a novel diatomite-TiO2/ZnS photocatalyst tailored to address the challenges posed by organic dye pollution while concurrently providing antibacterial activity. The methodology commences with diatomite purification, followed by the deposition of nanoparticles forming a heterojunction system between ZnS and TiO2 on the diatomite surface, culminating in the development of the nanocomposite. Notably, the optical absorption edge of the diatomite-TiO2/ZnS nanocomposite resides within the UV light spectrum. Subsequent heat treatment at 500 °C heightens the system's responsiveness to UV radiation. The nanocomposite exhibits exceptional efficacy in the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B dye. The optimal catalyst, DTZS 500, achieves a remarkable 98% degradation of rhodamine B within 180 min, boasting a pseudo-first-order constant of 0.03299 min−1, which is twice that of P25. Furthermore, nearly complete mineralization of organic matter is evidenced by chemical oxygen demand (COD) measurements. These superior performances are ascribed to the well-dispersed TiO2 and ZnS on the diatomite surface, the adsorption properties of diatomite, and the effective separation of photo-generated electron–hole pairs facilitated by the formation of a heterojunction system between TiO2 and ZnS. Moreover, the nanocomposite exhibits notable antibacterial effects against S. aureus, as evidenced by substantial inhibition zones measuring 38 mm in diameter. This study thus presents a promising avenue towards the provision of highly efficient and economical solutions for water treatment, encompassing both photocatalysis and bacterial disinfection. Physiological signals commonly suffer from contamination by various types of noise, ones of the most foremost are baseline wander (BLW) and power line interference (PLI). The removal of these interferences is a crucial in biomedical signal processing and diseases diagnosis. This paper introduces a digital fractional notch filter derived from the corresponding anti-notch one and specifically designed for the removal of BLW and PLI from physiological signals. The salient feature of the proposed filter is its capability to eliminate any frequency range only by adjusting the single parameter ν which defines the central frequency of the anti-notch filter. The performance of the filter is closely linked to the fractional order α and the number of samples L used in approximating the ideal fractional filter. Genetic algorithms were employed to determine the optimal values for these parameters (α, L). The proposed filter has been implemented on noisy ECG, EEG, and EMG signals, exhibiting its efficiency in removing unwanted noise. Machine learning techniques, including Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), enhance intrusion detection systems by adapting to new threats. However, DRL's reliance on vulnerable deep neural networks leads to susceptibility to adversarial examples-perturbations designed to evade detection. While adversarial examples are well-studied in deep learning, their impact on DRL-based intrusion detection remains underexplored, particularly in critical domains. This article conducts a thorough analysis of DRL-based intrusion detection's vulnerability to adversarial examples. It systematically evaluates key hyperparameters such as DRL algorithms, neural network depth, and width, impacting agents' robustness. The study extends to black-box attacks, demonstrating adversarial transferability across DRL algorithms. Findings emphasize neural network architecture's critical role in DRL agent robustness, addressing underfitting and overfitting challenges. Practical implications include insights for optimizing DRL-based intrusion detection agents to enhance performance and resilience. The mechanism by which an organism can adapt to subtle environmental changes is predicated on modifications to biochemical processes within the cellular metabolism in response to such changes. Changes in these processes have the potential to induce alterations in cellular structures and tissue organization, as well as establish a causal link between fluctuations in these parameters and stressors exposure. This investigation's main goal and innovation is to evaluate the environmental stress indicators in the aquatic ecosystem of Lake Qarun. Pesticide residues in freshwater fish should be the primary focus of evaluation of environmental stressor concentrations, since they serve as bioindicators at different times and places on a spatiotemporal scale. A thorough analysis of suggestive biochemical biomarker reactions should also be conducted. The effects of environmental stressors, specifically pesticide contamination in Qarun Lake, have been observed and investigated in relation to two fish species: Solea aejabtiaca and Oreochronis niloticus. The results of a hazard assessment conducted at six sampling sites using spatio-temporal data revealed elevated mean values for the pesticides, persistent organic pollutants (POPs), organochlorines, organophosphates, and pyrethroids that were detected. A multi biomarker approach facilitates a more comprehensive understanding of stress responses induced by exposure to pollutants. As a result, the activities of the biochemical biomarkers CYP-450, GST, GSH, and LDH in the blood and liver of fish samples were found to be notably elevated. The suitability of the identified variables for biomonitoring of aquatic pollution was validated, and the data unveiled variations in sensitivity among species, implying that Nile tilapia could potentially function as a bioindicator with high sensitivity. The findings were correlated with the concentrations of detrimental organochlorines, organophosphorus, and pyrethroids in the muscles and gills. The data indicates that pollutants linked to agricultural wastes, runoff, and municipal effluent may be discharged into the lake ecosystem. Consequently, to safeguard the environment, it is essential to enforce and implement policies, acts, and regulations that already exist. Background: Diffusion kurtosis imaging is an advanced magnetic resonance imaging technique that reveals additional information on the microstructure and micro-dynamics of different brain masses without the need for contrast agents. The aim of this study was to provide a comprehensive analysis of the role of MRI diffusion kurtosis and to compare it with magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion (DSC) in characterizing different brain masses, including gliomas, recurrent tumors, radiation necrosis, abscesses, and infarctions. Sixty-six patients with intracranial brain masses were enrolled in this prospective study. All patients were examined by conventional MRI sequences, DSC perfusion, MRS, and diffusion kurtosis imaging, with implemented b values which were 200, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000s/mm2. Results: Mean kurtosis (MK) was higher (P < 0.001) in recurrent brain tumors than in radiation-induced necrosis; the optimal MK cutoff value for differentiation between them was 642 with 91.3% sensitivity and 85.7% specificity. Mean kurtosis was also higher (P < 0.001) in high-grade gliomas than in low-grade gliomas; the optimal MK cutoff value for differentiation between them was 639 with 91.6% sensitivity and 85.71% specificity. There was a good level of agreement between ADC and MD within the studied cases, with a correlation coefficient r = 0.815. MK had more sensitivity and specificity in differentiation between high- and low-grade gliomas, as well as RIN and tumoral recurrence, than MRS and DSC. Conclusions: Diffusion kurtosis imaging stands as an integral, noninvasive, and noncontrast tool for the characterization of various brain masses. Background: Cardiogenic shock (CS) remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality, particularly in developing countries where there are limited resources and a lack of data on CS outcomes. This study aimed to investigate 30-day all-cause mortality in Egyptian patients with CS at tertiary referral centers. Results: This prospective, observational multicenter registry analyzed 16,681 patients from six cardiac centers, to evaluate the incidence, causes and predictors of CS-related mortality. Among the 529 diagnosed CS patients, 68.2% had an ischemic etiology. No discernable variations were observed in clinical or laboratory features, as well as mortality rates, between ischemic and non-ischemic CS patients. Within 30 days, 210 deaths (39.7%) occurred. Non-survivors with ischemic CS had a higher prevalence of diabetes, worsening renal function, and were more likely to receive multiple inotropes. Mortality did not significantly differ between acute coronary syndrome patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-STEMI (NSTEMI) (42.7% vs. 43.7%, p < 0.887). However, anterior STEMI patients had significantly higher mortality than those with inferior STEMI (49.5% vs. 21.6%, p < 0.003). Multivariate regression analysis identified predictors of mortality in CS, including the median hospital stay duration, leucocyte count, alanine transaminase levels, highest creatinine levels, resuscitated cardiac arrest, and use of norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine. Conclusion: In an Egyptian cohort, CS incidence was 3.17%, with no mortality difference based on the underlying etiology. Independent predictors of 30-day all-cause mortality included worsening renal function, leucocyte count, resuscitated cardiac arrest, and use of multiple inotropes/vasopressors. Boswellia carterii (BC) resins plants have a long historical background as a treatment for inflammation, as indicated by information originating from multiple countries. Twenty-seven diterpenoids have been identified in ethyl acetate and total methanol BC, comprising seventeen boscartins of the cembrane-type diterpenoids and ten boscartols of the prenylaromadendrane-type diterpenoids. Moreover, twenty-one known triterpenoids have also been found, encompassing nine tirucallane-type, six ursane-type, four oleanane-type, and two lupane-type. The cembrane-type diterpenoids hold a significant position in pharmaceutical chemistry and related industries due to their captivating biological characteristics and promising pharmacological potentials. Extraction of BC, creation and assessment of nano sponges loaded with either B. carterii plant extract or DEX, are the subjects of our current investigation. With the use of ultrasound-assisted synthesis, nano sponges were produced. The entrapment efficiency (EE%) of medications in nano sponges was examined using spectrophotometry. Nano sponges were characterized using a number of methods. Within nano sponges, the EE% of medicines varied between 98.52 ± 0.07 and 99.64 ± 1.40%. The nano sponges' particle sizes varied from 105.9 ± 15.9 to 166.8 ± 26.3 nm. Drugs released from nano sponges using the Korsmeyer-Peppas concept. In respiratory distressed rats, the effects of BC plant extract, DEX salt and their nano formulations (D1, D5, P1 and P1), were tested. Treatment significantly reduced ICAM-1, LTB4, and ILβ 4 levels and improved histopathologic profiles, when compared to the positive control group. Boswellia extract and its nano sponge formulation P1 showed promising therapeutic effects. The effect of P1 may be due to synergism between both the extract and the formulation. The development of a novel method for modelling fluid flow and heat transfer in naturally fractured geothermal reservoirs represents a significant advancement in geothermal energy research. This Study presents a hybrid approach, which combines discrete fracture and single continuum techniques, to effectively capture the complex interactions between fluid flow and heat transfer in geothermal fractured reservoirs. In addition, the incorporation of the local thermal nonequilibrium method for simulating heat transmission accounts for the disparities in temperature between the rock matrix and the fluid, providing a more realistic representation of heat transfer processes. The study also presents a fully coupled thermo-poro-elastic framework that integrates fluid flow and heat transfer to comprehensively evaluate reservoir responses to injection/production scenarios. This coupled approach allows for the prediction of changes in reservoir properties, such as permeability and porosity, under varying fluid pressure and temperature conditions. The application of the proposed model to evaluate a geothermal reservoir's long-term response to injection/production scenarios provides valuable insights into the reservoir's behaviour and potential energy production capacity. The sensitivity analysis further enhances the model's utility by identifying the key reservoir parameters that significantly influence the thermal depletion of the reservoir. Overall, this novel modelling approach holds promise for improving the understanding and management of naturally fractured geothermal reservoirs, contributing to the optimization of geothermal energy extraction strategies. Antimicrobial and UV-blocking textiles (protective textiles) are quite required especially for outdoor workers and in hot weather countries. Herein, for the first time, under the effect of infrared radiation, the preparation of multi-finished viscose fabrics via the incorporation of metal organic framework-based on Cesium (Ce-MOF) is investigated. Ce-MOF using different ligands including 1,4-benzendicarboxylic acid (BDC), 1,2,4-benzene tricarboxylic acid (BDC-COOH) and 2-amino-1,4-dicarboxyic acid (BDC-NH2) were incorporated within viscose and cationic viscose (Q-viscose) fabrics in one-pot process. MOF uptake was significantly improved from 88.6 – 96.8 mg/g to 122.5 – 152.2 mg/g after the cationization process. Due to incorporation of Ce-MOF, viscose fabrics acquired creamy to yellowish color and became more thermally stable. Tensile strength was lowered by 8.9 – 17.4% for viscose and 17.1 – 20.3% for Q-viscose, after modification with Ce-MOFs. The estimated UV-protection factor (UPF) for Q-viscose fabrics was significantly increased to be 50.1– 88.1 after incorporation of Ce-BDC-COOH & Ce-BDC-NH2, achieving maximum UV protection. By comparing between Ce-BDC and Ce-BDC-COOH, the fabrics treated with Ce-BDC-NH2 showed the highest microbial protection against bacteria and fungus. After immobilization of Ce-MOF, the estimated inhibition zones were 11–14 mm & 15–18 mm against E. coli and 13–15 mm & 17–19 mm against C. albicans, for viscose and Q-viscose, respectively.
