Microrobots have garnered tremendous attention due to their small size, flexible movement, and potential for various in situ treatments. However, functional modification of microrobots has become crucial for their interaction with the environment, except for precise motion control. Here, a novel artificial intelligence (AI) microrobot is designed that can respond to changes in the external environment without an onboard energy supply and transmit signals wirelessly in real time. The AI microrobot can cooperate with external electromagnetic imaging equipment and enhance the local radiofrequency (RF) magnetic field to achieve a large penetration sensing depth and a high spatial resolution. The working ranges are determined by the structure of the sensor circuit, and the corresponding enhancement effect can be modulated by the conductivity and permittivity of the surrounding environment, reaching ~560 times at most. Under the control of an external magnetic field, the magnetic tail can actuate the microrobotic agent to move accurately, with great potential to realize in situ monitoring in different places in the human body, almost noninvasively, especially around potential diseases, which is of great significance for early disease discovery and accurate diagnosis. In addition, the compatible fabrication process can produce swarms of functional microrobots. A new 1D silver cluster-assembled complex Ag10bpy-CH3CN exhibiting intense photoluminescence was reported. Upon the loss of coordinated acetonitrile, Ag10bpy-CH3CN form Ag10bpy with Ag10S6 cores slightly distorted, being accompanied with photoluminescence quenching. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials are promising for the realization of highly efficient light emitters. However, such devices have so far suffered from efficiency roll-off at high luminance. Here, we report the design and synthesis of two diboron-based molecules, CzDBA and tBuCzDBA, which show excellent TADF properties and yield efficient OLEDs with very low efficiency roll-off. These donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) type and rod-like compounds concurrently generate TADF with a photoluminescence quantum yield of ~100% and an 84% horizontal dipole ratio in the thin film. A green OLED based on CzDBA exhibits a high external quantum efficiency of 37.8 ± 0.6%, a current efficiency of 139.6 ± 2.8 cd A−1 and a power efficiency of 121.6 ± 3.1 lm W−1 with an efficiency roll-off of only 0.3% at 1,000 cd m−2. The device has a peak emission wavelength of 528 nm and colour coordinates of the Commission International de l´Eclairage (CIE) of (0.31, 0.61), making it attractive for colour-display applications. Bright and efficient organic emitters of near-infrared light would be of use in applications ranging from biological imaging and medical therapy to night-vision devices. Here we report how a new class of Pt(II) complex phosphors have enabled the fabrication of organic light-emitting diodes that emit light at 740 nm with very high efficiency and radiance due to a high photoluminescence quantum yield of ∼81% and a highly preferred horizontal dipole orientation. The best devices exhibited an external quantum efficiency of 24 ± 1% in a normal planar organic light-emitting diode structure. The incorporation of a light out-coupling hemisphere structure further boosts the external quantum efficiency up to 55 ± 3%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Paclitaxel is recommended as a first-line chemotherapeutic agent against ovarian cancer, but drug resistance becomes a major limitation of its success clinically. The key molecule or mechanism associated with paclitaxel resistance in ovarian cancer still remains unclear. Sex-determining region Y-box 2 (SOX2) is of vital importance in the regulation of stem cell proliferation and carcinogenesis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of SOX2 in ovarian cancer tumorigenesis and paclitaxel resistance. In the present study, the expression of SOX2 was examined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) and real-time PCR in 40 clinical samples and in SKOV3 cells and SKOV3/TAX cells (paclitaxel-resistant human ovarian adenocarcinoma cell line). The effects of SOX2 knockdown on ovarian cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were also studied. The IHC and real-time PCR results showed that the difference of SOX2 expression between ovarian cancer and the adjacent non-tumorous ovarian tissues was statistically significant. Western blot analysis revealed that the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway was inhibited in cells overexpressing SOX2. Western blot analysis showed that the SOX2 protein was overexpressed in paclitaxel-resistant cells and weakly detectable in paclitaxel-sensitive cells. SOX2 silencing significantly potentiated apoptosis induced by paclitaxel in SKOV3-TR with SOX2 knockdown compared to SKOV3-TR transfected with control small interfering RNA (siRNA). Mobile concrete pump boom is typical multibody large-scale motion manipulator. Due to posture constantly change in working process, kinematic rule and dynamic characteristic are difficult to solve. A dynamics model of a mobile concrete pump boom is established based on discrete time transfer matrix method (DTTMM). The boom system is divided into sub-structure A and substructure B. Sub-structure A is composed by the 1st boom and hydraulic actuator as well as the support. And substructure B is consists of the other three booms and corresponding hydraulic actuators. In the model, the booms and links are regarded as rigid elements and the hydraulic cylinders are equivalent to spring-damper. The booms are driven by the controllable hydraulic actuators. The overall dynamic equation and transfer matrix of the model can be assembled by sub-structures A and B. To get a precise result, step size and integration parameters are studied then. Next the tip displacement is calculated and compared with the result of ADAMS software. The displacement and rotation angle curves of the proposed method fit well with the ADAMS model. Besides it is convenient in modeling and saves time. So it is suitable for mobile concrete pump boom real-time monitoring and dynamic analysis. The resonant flow of an incompressible, inviscid fluid with surface tension on varying bottoms was researched. The effects of different bottoms on the nonlinear surface waves were analyzed. The waterfall plots of the wave were drawn with Matlab according to the numerical simulation of the fKdV equation with the pseudo-spectral method. From the waterfall plots, the results are obtained as follows: for the convex bottom, the waves system can be viewed as a combination of the effects of forward-step forcing and backwardstep forcing, and these two wave systems respectively radiate upstream and downstream without mutual interaction. Nevertheless, the result for the concave bottom is contrary to the convex one. For some combined bottoms, the wave systems can be considered as the combination of positive forcing and negative forcing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, the influences of carburization (followed by quenching and low-temperature tempering) followed by shot peening on "apparent" fatigue limits of 20CrMnTi steel specimens were studied and quantitatively analyzed according to the microstructure changes, induced residual stress fields, and position of fatigue crack sources, as well as a micro-meso-process theory for fatigue crack initiation previously proposed by the authors (Ref 6-8). The experimental results show that, although the hardness of the surface layer of carburized specimens is much higher than that of the pseudo-carburized specimens, the improvement effect of carburization on the apparent fatigue limits of specimens is uncertain. It should be related to the possible formation of nonmartensitic microstructure in the surface layer of carburized specimen. After the shot peening, the fatigue limit of specimens was improved and rose to a level about 40 % higher than that of the pseudo-carburized specimens. Scanning electron microscopy fractographic analyses show that the fatigue sources, which indicate the weakest link of specimens, in pseudo-carburized and ascarburized specimens are all located at the surface, while after shot-peening, they appear in the interior beneath the hardened layer. The naturally occurring octacyclopeptide brachystemin F was synthesized for the first time in the present study by a two-step solid-phase/solution strategy. All the amino acids in this study have the L-configuration. The linear octapeptide was assembled by standard Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), and subsequent cyclization was carried out by the solution method. This article describes the development of several nanoconjugates composed of cobalt (III) oxyhydroxide and DEASPI/βCDP, where DEASPI stands for the dye trans-4-[p-(N,N-diethylamino)styryl]-N-methylpyridinium, and βCDP stands for β-cyclodextrin. The material enables sensitive fluorometric detection and 3D imaging of ascorbic acid (AA) in biological samples. A nanomicelle composed of DEASPI and βCDP was prepared to act as a two-photon absorbance (TPA) nanofluorophore with desirable two-photon-sensitized fluorescence, high penetration depth, and excellent cell-permeability). The CoOOH nanoflakes were placed on the surface of the nanomicelle to act as both a quencher of fluorescence and as the recognition unit for AA. In the presence of AA, the CoOOH nanoflakes are reduced to Co (II), and this triggers the recovery of fluorescence. This new nanoprobe exhibits amplified two-photon fluorescence (excitation at 840 nm; emission at 565 nm), high sensitivity, and good selectivity. In-vitro imaging of endogenous AA was demonstrated in living HeLa cells. It was also employed to 3D imaging of exogenous AA in tissue by two-photon excitation microscopy to a depth of up to 320 μm.
