The flexible distribution network presents a promising architecture to accommodate highly integrated distributed generators and increasing loads in an efficient and cost-effective way. The distribution network is characterised by flexible interconnections and expansions based on soft open points, which enables it to dispatch power flow over the entire system with enhanced controllability and compatibility. Herein, we propose a multi-resource dynamic coordinated planning method of flexible distribution network that allows allocation strategies to be determined over a long-term planning period. Additionally, we establish a probabilistic framework to address source-load uncertainties, which mitigates the security risks of voltage violations and line overloads. A practical distribution network is adopted for flexible upgrading based on soft open points, and its cost benefits are evaluated and compared with that of traditional planning approaches. By adjusting the acceptable violation probability in chance constraints, a trade-off between investment efficiency and operational security can be realised. The Late Triassic witnessed significant collisional orogenic events in the Qinling orogenic belt, accompanied by magma underplating and tectonic deformation. These processes potentially resulted in substantial crustal thickening and uplift of the Qinling orogen. However, due to the absence of igneous rock records from this period in the eastern section of the Qinling orogen, the changes in crustal thickness during this orogenic process have not been thoroughly investigated. A series of foreland basins emerged during the Early Mesozoic to the south of the East Qinling orogenic belt. These basins have preserved clastic sedimentary rocks derived from the uplift and erosion of the orogenic belt. These sedimentary records serve as crucial records to reconstruct the evolutionary history of the Qinling orogen. To further clarify the collisional orogenic process of the Qinling orogenic belt, this study conducted in situ volcanic lithic fragment geochemistry, detrital zircon U-Pb chronology and trace element composition analysis on the sandstones of the Lower Jurassic Tongzhuyuan Formation in the Zigui Basin. The results suggest that the sandstones, which exhibit a significant abundance of volcanic lithic fragments, has a characteristic detrital zircon age group of 250–200 Ma, indicating a major provenance from the Triassic volcanic rocks. Combined with regional correlation and paleocurrent analysis, the detrital zircon U-Pb age data show that the source area of volcanic rocks should be in the Qinling orogenic belt to the north of the basin. This interpretation is further supported by the Triassic granitic rocks exposed in the western part of the orogenic belt, representing the magmatism during the Triassic collisional orogenesis in the Qinling orogen. Based on the co-varying relationships between present-day crust thickness with the chemical compositions of granite rocks and zircons, the La/Yb ratio of volcanic lithic fragments in the Tongzhuyuan Formation and the Eu/Eu ratio of detrital zircons with Triassic ages indicate that the Qinling orogen experienced crustal thickening during the Late Triassic, reaching its maximum thickness of 60–70 km at ca. 220–210 Ma. This crustal thickening in the eastern Qinling orogen is temporally consistent with that in the western orogen as recorded by the Triassic granitic rocks and may be related to large-scale crustal shortening and magmatism during the collisional orogeny. With the rapid development of flexible interconnection technology in active distribution networks (ADNs), many power electronic devices have been employed to improve system operational performance. As a novel fully-controlled power electronic device, energy storage integrated soft open point (ESOP) is gradually replacing traditional switches. This can significantly enhance the controllability of ADNs. To facilitate the utilization of ESOP, device locations and capacities should be configured optimally. Thus, this paper proposes a multi-stage expansion planning method of ESOP with the consideration of tie-line reconstruction. First, based on multi-terminal modular design characteristics, the ESOP planning model is established. A multi-stage planning framework of ESOP is then presented, in which the evolutionary relationship among different planning schemes is analyzed. Based on this framework, a multi-stage planning method of ESOP with consideration of tie-line reconstruction is subsequently proposed. Finally, case studies are conducted on a modified practical distribution network, and the cost–benefit analysis of device and multiple impact factors are given to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. Flowing and stagnant zones coexist in central discharging flat-bottomed packed beds. Continuum based approach has been widely used to predict the flow characteristics. In particular, potential flow (PF) model was often used due to its simplicity but has a difficulty in predicting the stagnant zone. In our previous work, a novel PF model was proposed to overcome the difficulty. However, due to the assumption of constant flow resistance coefficient, the local velocity effect and typical non-linear flow mechanism have not been addressed. In this work, the concepts of linear resistance (LR) and constant resistance (CR) flows were proposed first based on the effects of discharging velocity. Then, the local velocity effect on the flow resistance was obtained by connecting the resistances of LR and CR flows in parallel. Further, the effects of LR and CR flows were discussed and validated by recorded data in 2D central discharging packed beds. The improved PF model enables to capture the funnel flow variations under different conditions and develop further understanding of granular flow in the flowing and stagnant zones. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the geoscience research has been entering a significant transitional period with the establishment of a new knowledge system as the core and with the drive of big data as the means. It is a revolutionary leap in the research of geoscience knowledge discovery from the traditional encyclopedic discipline knowledge system to the computer-understandable and operable knowledge graph. Based on adopting the graph pattern of general knowledge representation, the geoscience knowledge graph expands the unique spatiotemporal features to the Geoscience knowledge, and integrates geoscience knowledge elements, such as map, text, and number, to establish an all-domain geoscience knowledge representation model. A federated, crowd intelligence-based collaborative method of constructing the geoscience knowledge graph is developed here, which realizes the construction of high-quality professional knowledge graph in collaboration with global geo-scientists. We also develop a method for constructing a dynamic knowledge graph of multi-modal geoscience data based on in-depth text analysis, which extracts geoscience knowledge from massive geoscience literature to construct the latest and most complete dynamic geoscience knowledge graph. A comprehensive and systematic geoscience knowledge graph can not only deepen the existing geoscience big data analysis, but also advance the construction of the high-precision geological time scale driven by big data, the compilation of intelligent maps driven by rules and data, and the geoscience knowledge evolution and reasoning analysis, among others. Fischer plots are widely used in paleoenvironmental research as graphic representations of sea- and lake-level changes through mapping linearly corrected variation of accumulative cycle thickness over cycle number or stratum depth. Some kinds of paleoenvironmental proxy data (especially subsurface data, such as natural gamma-ray logging data), which preserve continuous cyclic signals and have been largely collected, are potential materials for constructing Fischer Plots. However, it is laborious to count the cycles preserved in these proxy data manually and map Fischer plots with these cycles. In this paper, we introduce an original open-source Python code "PyFISCHERPLOT" for constructing Fischer Plots in batches utilizing paleoenvironmental proxy data series. The principle of constructing Fischer plots based on proxy data, the data processing and usage of the PyFISCHERPLOT code and the application cases of the code are presented. Samples from the Shahezi mudstone of Well SongkeII (SKII) in the Songliao Basin were analyzed for mineral composition, source rock geochemistry, and reservoir pore structure. It is revealed that the Shahezi mudstone is a typical clay rock, with an average TOC of 2.12% (dominantly Type II–III organic matters) and a vitrinite reflectance Ro of 2.28–2.34%. The pore structure of the Shahezi mudstone reservoir mainly comprises intergranular pores and interlayer fractures in clay minerals, and also organic pores (including fractures at the particle-organic edges and also pores in some unstructured organic matters). The Shahezi mudstone has a specific pore volume of 0.01–0.04 cm3/g. Correlation analysis of specific pore volume and mineral composition reveals that the pore development of the Shahezi mudstone is mainly controlled by inorganic minerals. The nitrogen adsorption and high-pressure mercury intrusion tests were combined to obtain the full-scale pore size distribution and specific pore volume of the Shahezi mudstone, and the shale gas "sweet spot" interval is inferred to be 3,500–3,700 m. The first and second members of the Nenjiang Formation (K2n1+2) in the Songliao Basin, northeast China, are an interval of dark-colored mudstone. Paleoenvironmental studies of these strata are useful for understanding the terrestrial environment under a greenhouse climate and hydrocarbon accumulation in lake basins. In this study, clay mineralogy of the K2n1+2 from four borehole or outcrop sections is investigated to understand terrestrial paleoenvironment during the depositional period in the Late Cretaceous. In the mudstone samples, smectite and illite are the predominant clay minerals, and were derived from weathering of parent rocks in a temperate, sub-humid to sub-arid climate; kaolinite and chlorite are minor clay species. The difference in the clay-mineral assemblages between the eastern and western margins of the basin was primarily controlled by provenance lithology, and the high smectite content in the western basin resulted from alteration of volcanic rocks exposed in the Greater Xing'an Range area. The increasing illite content and ratio of illite/smectite percentages in the upper part of the first member of the Nenjiang Formation indicate paleoenvironmental change. This temporal change in the clay-mineral composition was primarily caused by a regionally cooler and drier paleoclimate, consistent with previous paleoenvironmental reconstructions. The lack of Early Cretaceous magmatic records with high-quality geochemical data in the southern Qiangtang subterrane has inhibited a complete understanding of the magmatic processes and geological evolution of central Tibet. In this study, we present zircon U-Pb ages, whole-rock geochemistry, and Sr-Nd-Pb and zircon Hf isotopic data for the newly discovered Moku pluton in the southern Qiangtang subterrane. Zircon U-Pb dating reveals that the Moku granites were emplaced in the Early Cretaceous (ca. 100 Ma) and are coeval with the hosted dioritic enclaves. The granites are slightly peraluminous and high-K calc-alkaline I-type granites and characterized by initial (Sr/Sr) ratios of 0.70605-0.70658, negative ε ( t) values (−4.44 to −3.35), and Nd isotopic model ages of 1.19-1.29 Ga. The granites have a wide range of zircon ε ( t) values (−24.4 to 2.6) and concordant ratios of (Pb/Pb) = 18.645-18.711, (Pb/Pb) = 15.656-15.666, and (Pb/Pb) = 38.751-38.836. The coeval dioritic enclaves are medium- to high-K calc-alkaline rocks with zircon ε ( t) values of −13.3 to +3.6. The geochemical signatures of the host granites and coeval dioritic enclaves indicate that the Moku pluton was most likely generated by partial melting of the ancient lower crust with contributions from mantle-derived melts. Our new data, together with other recently published data, indicate that the ca. 100 Ma magmatic rocks were derived from anatexis of the Qiangtang lower crust that mixed with upwelling asthenosphere materials in response to the slab break-off of the northward subduction of the Bangong-Nujiang oceanic lithosphere. In this paper, a new evaluation method of probabilistic TTC based on SVSR calculation is developed through a hierarchical simulation. A smooth technology based on the non-parametric kernel estimator is adapted to obtain the time-dependent probabilistic density function of the feeder-head load data. In order to describe possible operating change directions of the operating point, the original hyper-cone-like (HCL) model is constructed to consider the probabilistic distribution function (PDF) extracted from feeder-head load data to replace the simple Normal Distribution model and the uncertain generator outputs. To realize the fast TTC calculation of the current operating point in random conditions, a sub-hyper-cone-like (SHCL) model in full power injections space is proposed, which is a similarity transformation of the original one. In this paper, two new models suitable for power system stability analysis with considering time delays are derived. They are constraint time-delayed ordinary differential equation model (CTODE model) and constraint time-delayed differential algebraic equation model (CTDAE model). In these two models, dimension of the time-delayed equation is significantly reduced so as to speed up the calculation efficiency. Detail derivations to their nonlinear and incremental linear forms are given. And, some of their good features are discussed. Finally, a typical time-delayed system and single-machine-infinite-bus system are selected to validate the new models through Lyapunov-Krasovskii criterion and eigenvalue locus tracing procedure. It reveals that some unnecessary calculations in the algorithm can be avoided to achieve higher efficiency based on new models. Environmental proxies of a stable carbon isotope, total organic carbon, free iron oxide, and particle size distribution in sediments as well as the stable carbon and oxygen isotopes in fossil human and animal teeth were used to reconstruct the history of climate change and natural disasters near the Jinsha Relic Site and to track their effect on the ancient Shu Civilization, which was established in the Chengdu Plain of southwest China during the late Holocene. In general, the late Holocene climate in the Chengdu Plain demonstrated a drying and cooling trend, with evident cooler events ~4100 and ~2700 a BP, which coincided with global climate changes. The ancient Shu Civilization was interrupted twice, and it included three stages-the Baodun (4700-3700 a BP), the Sanxingdui (3700-3150 a BP), and the Shi'erqiao (3150-2600 a BP)-that were slightly related to the abrupt climate changes that resulted from the collapse of the classic Sanxingdui Civilization, which was founded in a regional warm period. The abrupt increase in sand content in the sediment from the Jinsha Site coincided with the palaeoearthquake and palaeodam burst in the Longmen Mountains when the Baodun and Shi'erqiao desisted, indicating that a flood had occurred due to a dam burst and may likely have caused the ancient civilization's destruction. Although the warm and humid climate, flat terrain and rich water resources prompted the prosperity of the ancient towns of Sanxingdui and Jinsha, frequent natural disasters, such as powerful earthquakes, landslide dams, and outburst floods, consistently affected the ancient Shu inhabitants. Sensitivities of eigen-solutions to control variables play an important role in microgrid studies, such as coordinated optimal design of controllers and parameters, robust stability analysis on control variables, oscillation modes analysis on a system, etc. Considering the importance of sensitivities and the complexity of state matrix in a microgrid, parameter perturbations are utilized in this paper to analyze the construction characteristics of state matrix. Then, the sensitivities of eigenvalues and eigenvectors to control variables are obtained based on the first-order matrix perturbation theory, which makes the complex derivations of sensitivity formulas and repeated solutions of eigenvalue problem unnecessary. Finally, the effectiveness of the matrix perturbation based approach for sensitivity calculation in a microgrid is verified by a numerical example on a low-voltage microgrid prototype. This paper proposes a control strategy that can realize seamless microgrid operation mode transition between grid-connected operation and stand-alone operation. The scenario of a microgrid based on master-slave control is considered, where the master distributed generation (DG) unit operates in different control schemes in different microgrid operation modes, while other slave DG units operate with power/current control all the time. The proposed control strategy focuses on the master DG unit, and contains the control state/reference compensation algorithm and separation switch control logic. The Tanggula (唐古拉) thrust system and the Tuotuohe (沱沱河) foreland basin, which represent major Cenozoic tectonic units of the central Tibetan plateau, have been recently studied. Field investigation, analyses of deformation and construction of two restored balanced structural sections suggest 75-100 km (51%-64%) of N-S shortening in the Tanggula thrust system and 55-114 km (42%-47%) of N-S shortening in the Tuotuohe basin. The shortening ratios indicate that the Tanggula-Tuotuohe area has undergone intensive deformation and crustal shortening during the Early Tertiary, resulting not only in crustal thickening, but also in large scale volcanism and in rapid uplift of the Tanggula Mountains. Abstract The Taylor model arithmetic is introduced to deal with uncertainty. The uncertainty of model parameters is described by Taylor models and each variable in functions is replaced with the Taylor model (TM). Thus, time domain simulation under uncertainty is transformed to the integration of TM-based differential equations. In this paper, the Taylor series method is employed to compute differential equations; moreover, power system time domain simulation under uncertainty based on Taylor model method is presented. This method allows a rigorous estimation of the influence of either form of uncertainty and only needs one simulation. It is computationally fast compared with the Monte Carlo method, which is another technique for uncertainty analysis. The proposed method has been tested on the 39-bus New England system. The test results illustrate the effectiveness and practical value of the approach by comparing with the results of Monte Carlo simulation and traditional time domain simulation. The Himalayan orogen consists of three major lithologic units that are separated by two major north-dipping faults: the Lesser Himalayan Sequence (LHS) below the Main Central Thrust (MCT), the Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex (GHC) above the MCT, and the Tethyan Himalayan Sequence (THS) juxtaposed by the South Tibet Detachment fault (STD) over the GHC. Due to widespread metamorphism and intense deformation, differentiating the above three lithologic units is often difficult. This problem has been overcome by the use of Sm-Nd isotopic analysis. The previous studies suggested that the LHS can be clearly distinguished from the GHC and THS by their Nd isotope compositions. However, the lack of detailed and systematic Sm-Nd isotopic studies of the THS across the Himalaya in general has made differentiation of this unit from the nearby GHC impossible, as the two appear to share overlapping Nd compositions and model ages. To address this problem, we systematically sampled and analyzed Nd isotopes of the THS in southeastern Tibet directly north of Bhutan. Our study identifies two distinctive fields in a ɛ Nd- T DM plot. The first is defined by the ɛ Nd(210 Ma) values of −3.45 to −7.34 and T DM values of 1.15 to 1.29 Ga from a Late Triassic turbidite sequence, which are broadly similar to those obtained from the Lhasa block. The second field is derived from the Early Cretaceous meta-sedimentary rocks with ɛ Nd(130 Ma) values from −15.24 to −16.61 and T DM values from 1.63 to 2.00 Ga; these values are similar to those obtained from the Greater Himalayan Crystalline Complex in Bhutan directly south of our sampling traverse, which has ɛ Nd(130 Ma) values of −10.89 to −16.32 and Nd model ages ( T DM) of 1.73 to 2.20 Ga. From the above observations, we suggest that the Late Triassic strata of the southeast Tibetan THS were derived from the Lhasa block in the north, while the Early Cretaceous strata of the THS were derived from a source similar to the High Himalayan Crystalline Complex or Indian craton in the south. Our interpretation is consistent with the existing palaeocurrent data and provenance analysis of the Late Triassic strata in southeastern Tibet, which indicate the sediments derived from a northern source. Thus, we suggest that the Lhasa terrane and the Indian craton were close to one another in the Late Triassic and were separated by a rift valley across which a large submarine fan was transported southward and deposited on the future northern margin of the Indian continent. A diagnostic signal current trace detecting based single phase-to-ground fault line identification and section location method for non-effectively grounded distribution systems is presented in this paper. A special diagnostic signal current is injected into the fault distribution system, and then it is detected at the outlet terminals to identify the fault line and at the sectionalizing or branching point along the fault line to locate the fault section. The method has been put into application in actual distribution network and field experience shows that it can identify the fault line and locate the fault section correctly and effectively. Quantitative analysis of Early Eocene radiolarian assemblages discovered in the sedimentary mélange (accretionary prism) of the Saga area, southern Tibet provides new information to constrain the timing of Tethys closure and the initial collision of India and Eurasia. The radiolarian species of Saga include Amphisphaera coronata (Ehrenberg), Buryella hannae Bak & Barwicz-Piskorz, Buryella clinata Foreman, Buryella tetradica Foreman, Calocycloma ampulla (Ehrenberg), Lamptonium fabaeforme constrictum Riedel and Sanfilippo, Lamptonium pennatum Foreman, Lithomespilus coronatus Squinabol and Lamptonium (?) colymbus Foreman. The adequate and reliable correlation of these radiolarians specimens indicates that the assemblage is of Early Eocene in age. The age and depositional environment of these radiolarians testify that deep ocean basins existed between India Plate and Asia Plate during the Early Eocene. Application of mineralogy, geochemistry, sedimentary petrology, and sedimentology methods result in better understanding of the genesis and paleoenvironmens of the Upper Cretaceous oceanic red beds exposed in southern Tibet. The red beds comprise the Chungde Formation. Nine lithofacies recognized within this formation are: red foraminiferal packstone/grainstone, red microfossils wackestone, red marlstone with microfossils, red marlstone, red to variegated floatstone and rudstone (debris flow), red shale, red radiolarite, red chert with radiolaria, and red chert. Sedimentary structures and textures, microfossils, and carbonate content show that the Chuangde Fm was deposited near the base of a continental slope in a deep oceanic basin environment, with the basin floor below the carbonate compensation depth (CCD). Red marlstones and limestones intercalated within red shales represent slides and slumps from the upper part of the continental margin. Debris flow and turbidity deposits consist of volcaniclastic, fossilliferous rudstone and floatstone, and very thin calcareous mudstone, intercalated with red shales. The Upper Cretaceous oceanic red beds in southern Tibet are characterized by high Fe2O3, low FeO, which indicates an oxic diagenetic environment, resulting in precipitation of hematite. The latter occurs as finely, disseminated ferric oxide giving the red color to the rocks. It is concluded that the red beds in southern Tibet were deposited under highly oxygenated bottom conditions in the deep ocean basin. Such conditions not only occurred in a deep ocean basin as indicated by the occurrence of pelagic red shale deposited below the CCD, but also extended up the continental margin as indicated by the presence of red colored marlstones and limestones embedded in the Chuangde Fm. The latter were deposited above CCD, most probably on the continental slope. The oxic bottom conditions are interpreted to be a result of a combination of climate cooling, active bottom ocean circulation, and change in the ocean-atmosphere oxygen budget. Through comprehensive research on the various geophysical and geological data acquired recently, we consider that the Chasang area in the western uplift of Qiangtang is a huge south-dipping block which is overlapped by several east-west trending blocks rather than a simple and palaeo-doming existing for a long time. The structural and geophysical features of the area, which only alone limited between Shuanghu and Rongma districts, are of no regional significance. Their development is closely related with the approximately south-north trending transform faults developed during the Mesozoic era on the east and west sides of the area and their later continuous movement. The compressing, overlapping and uplifting of the Chasang area began at the stage of reversing of the Qiangtang Basin during the Lower Cretaceous, which is in direct relation with Bangonghu-Dingqing limited ocean’s closure and the convergence of the neighboring blocks. The compression and overlapping of the area have further developed and reformed since the Eocene because of the continuing collision and pushing of the Indian Plate to the north. Comprehensive studies on lithologic association, provenance of metacongelometre, characteristics of metamorphism and deformation, and207Pb/206Pb-dating of single-zircon for metamorphic rocks distributed in Chabu-Chasang areas in Qiangtang block indicate that most of them belong to Middle Proterozoic metamorphic basement except silicilith member ascribed to Triassic. Disintegrated basement strata are called Gemuri group and Guoganjianianri group; they are different in histories of metamorphism and deformation. The single-zircon207Pb/206Pb-ages provide excellent evidence for the existence of an Archean continent nucleus around study areas. The latest Qiangtang Terrane structure is characterized by the south-north-trending graben formed during the eastwestward extensional processes. The Shuanghu graben is composed of a series of nearly parallel NE to NNE-trending normal faults. Studies on fault geometry, kinematics and sedimentation in the fault-controlled basin suggest that the faults activated periodically and their early activities began in the Pliocene, which caused the unconformable contact between the Pliocene and the subjacent Shuanghu Formation, as well as between the Pliocene and the overlying Quaternary. The movement rates of the faults had been strikingly increased since Quaternary when the faults activated intensively. The graben resulted from the gravitational spreading after the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau. It is indicated that the collapse has been on setting in plateau hinterland. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Limited to the Atlantic and its surrounding basins, the expression of the Coniacian–Santonian oceanic anoxic event (OAE3) was discovered in the non-marine Cretaceous Songliao Basin, Eastern Asia not long ago. In this study, based on spectral gamma ray logs data recorded in three basins, the self-similarity of the OAE3 was studied through the analysis of the scaling properties of thorium–potassium and thorium–uranium distributions both in marine and terrestrial environments using the multifractal detrending fluctuation analysis. The results indicate that, in both marine and terrestrial systems, the OAE3 intervals are characterized by their multifractal nature due to long-range correlation. However, the multifractal features of the studied OAE3 intervals are different in the three basins, although some common trends were observed. By comparing the degree of multifractality of the OAE3 deposits with the clay minerals and the redox conditions, it appears that the changes of the multifractal features are controlled by local changes such as clay mineralogy and redox conditions in both milieus under different sedimentation patterns. At all sites, the left side shortened spectrum of the thorium–potassium distribution suggests the presence of local fluctuations with minor amplitudes during the OAE3. Furthermore, the shortened singularity spectrum of the thorium–uranium distribution reflects the existence of small-scale fluctuations with large amplitudes at marine sites while in the non-marine Songliao Basin, the thorium–uranium distribution suggests the presence of local fluctuations with small amplitudes during the OAE3. Therefore, a more local behavior of the event is considered although the regional character is not neglected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
