The graph neural network model has shown strong classification performance in few-shot learning (FSL) tasks in recent years. However, the existing methods have mainly participated in model training by extracting the single features of the samples as nodes. This method of constructing nodes ignores the multi-scale information contained in the samples to a certain extent and limits the expressiveness of node features. Therefore, we propose a multi-scale hierarchical node graph neural network (MsHN-GNN), which constructs hierarchical nodes bearing multi-scale information by deeply extracting structural features, global features, and local features of samples and enhances the representation ability of node features. At the same time, MsHN-GNN sorts the hierarchical relationship among sub-nodes through the block alignment module so that sub-nodes correspond one-to-one according to their own content attributes, which lays a foundation for updating multi-scale hierarchical nodes. In addition, we design a unique graph network update method according to the characteristics of hierarchical nodes. Through the multi-scale hierarchical node aggregation and edge aggregation modules, we realize the hierarchical information interaction among multiple sub-nodes so that the updated nodes and edge features have stronger information expression ability. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of the model, we conduct extensive experiments on miniImageNet, TiredImageNet, and CUB-200-2011 datasets. The experimental results show that MsHN-GNN outperforms other advanced few-shot learning methods with a graph structure in classification performance. The China-Vietnam border plays a crucial role as a vital ecological barrier in China, and along with the development of the border, the pattern of production-living-ecological (PLE) spaces has been significantly affected by human activities. Therefore, the resulting landscape ecological risk is worthy of attention. Based on the perspective of PLE spaces, the paper employs transfer matrices, landscape ecological risk evaluation model, and spatial models to examine the evolution of land space and landscape ecological risk over the past 40 years along the China-Vietnam border. The findings are as follows: (1) agricultural production space is shrinking by 49.82 km2, and the problem of arable land non-agriculturalization is escalating. Meanwhile, industrial and mining production space has witnessed considerable expansion of 94.38 km2. Similarly, urban living space experienced an increase of 52.91 km2. Although rural living space initially contracted, it later experienced rapid growth, surpassing urban living space. In 2020, rural living space is 2.3 times larger than urban living space. Woodland ecological space has slightly expanded but subsequently contracted. Grassland ecological space reduced by 44.20 km2, while watershed ecological space expanded significantly by 88.42 km2. Other ecological space decreased sharply by 807.84 km2. (2) Both ecological protection and destruction behaviors are observed in the study area. Landscape ecological risk (LER) is increasing. Moving from west to east, the LER index consistently rises. (3) LER in the study area exhibits a significant spatial aggregation. High-high (H–H) areas are predominantly concentrated in the mineral resource-rich regions and coastal tourism zones of the central-eastern region, while low-low (L-L) areas are primarily distributed in border villages and cottages. Based on our findings, we can conclude that human activities in the study area have resulted in the transformation of PLE spaces, leading to a deterioration in the quality of the ecological environment. Assessing failure pressure is critical in determining pipeline integrity. Current research primarily concerns the buckling performance of pressurized pipelines subjected to a bending load or axial compression force, with some also looking at the failure pressure of corroded pipelines. However, there is currently a lack of limit state models for pressurized pipelines with bending moments and axial forces. In this study, based on the unified yield criterion, we propose a limit state equation for steel pipes under various loads. The most common operating loads on buried pipelines are bending moment, internal pressure, and axial force. The proposed limit state equation for intact pipelines is based on a three-dimensional pipeline stress model with complex load coupling. Using failure data, we investigate the applicability of various yield criteria in assessing the failure pressure of pipelines with complex loads. We show that the evaluation model can be effectively used as a theoretical solution for assessing the failure pressure in such circumstances and for selecting appropriate yield criteria based on load condition differences.Assessing failure pressure is critical in determining pipeline integrity. Zero-shot sketch-based image retrieval (ZS-SBIR) has attracted increasing attention in computer vision, with the aim of searching the natural images that match a given sketch under the setting of zero-shot learning. In this paper, we propose a novel ZS-SBIR method based on the specifically developed domain-aware dual attention (DADA) module and similarity loss, which utilizes prior knowledge more fully than previous work. The DADA module emphasizes the importance of different channels and spaces according to the prior knowledge of whether the input is a sketch or a natural image. To preserve more prior knowledge from the models pre-trained on ImageNet, a similarity loss function is designed to supervise inter-class similarity. Furthermore, the center loss is introduced into our model, which can bridge the representation gap between the sketch domain and the natural image domain. We perform experiments on the TU-Berlin extended dataset and the Sketchy extended dataset, and the corresponding results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas) causes citrus Huanglongbing disease. Our understanding of the pathogenicity and biology of this microorganism remains limited because CLas has not yet been cultivated in artificial media. Its genome is relatively small and encodes approximately 1136 proteins, of which 415 have unknown functions. Here, we use a high-throughput yeast-two-hybrid (Y2H) screen to identify interactions between CLas proteins, thus providing insights into their potential functions. We identify 4245 interactions between 542 proteins, after screening 916 bait and 936 prey proteins. The false positive rate of the Y2H assay is estimated to be 2.9%. Pull-down assays for nine protein-protein interactions (PPIs) likely involved in flagellar function support the robustness of the Y2H results. The average number of PPIs per node in the CLas interactome is 15.6, which is higher than the numbers previously reported for interactomes of free-living bacteria, suggesting that CLas genome reduction has been accompanied by increased protein multi-functionality. We propose potential functions for 171 uncharacterized proteins, based on the PPI results, guilt-by-association analyses, and comparison with data from other bacterial species. We identify 40 hub-node proteins, including quinone oxidoreductase and LysR, which are known to protect other bacteria against oxidative stress and might be important for CLas survival in the phloem. We expect our PPI database to facilitate research on CLas biology and pathogenicity mechanisms. Research on the biology and pathogenicity of 'Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus' (CLas), the bacterium that causes citrus Huanglongbing disease, is hampered by our inability to cultivate it in artificial media. Fine-grained sketch-based image retrieval has become an important research topic in the computer vision area. To take advantage of more fine-grained information, we proposed a multi-feature fusion network for fine-grained sketch-based image retrieval. Multi-feature consists of a coarse-grained feature and two fine-grained features which can make better use of fine-grained information. Moreover, a mixed attention module is introduced into the network to extract more discriminating features. Finally, we use the DR-triplet loss to achieve more optimal directions of pair displacements to improve the retrieval performance. Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is one of the most common risk factors for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). However, there is no direct evidence of a causal relationship between HBV infection and ICC. In this study, we attempted to prove that ICC may originate from hepatocytes through a pathological study involving ICC tissue-derived organoids. Method: The medical records and tumor tissue samples of 182 patients with ICC after hepatectomy were collected. The medical records of 182 patients with ICC were retrospectively analyzed to explore the prognostic factors. A microarray of 182 cases of ICC tumor tissue and 6 cases of normal liver tissue was made, and HBsAg was stained by immunohistochemistry (IHC) to explore the factors closely related to HBV infection. Fresh ICC tissues and corresponding adjacent tissues were collected to make paraffin sections and organoids. Immunofluorescence (IF) staining of factors including HBsAg, CK19, CK7, Hep-Par1 and Albumin (ALB) was performed on both fresh tissues and organoids. In addition, we collected adjacent nontumor tissues of 6 patients with HBV (+) ICC, from which biliary duct tissue and normal liver tissue were isolated and RNA was extracted respectively for quantitative PCR assay. In addition, the expression of HBV-DNA in organoid culture medium was detected by quantitative PCR and PCR electrophoresis. Results: A total of 74 of 182 ICC patients were HBsAg positive (40.66%, 74/182). The disease-free survival (DFS) rate of HBsAg (+) ICC patients was significantly lower than that of HBsAg (−) ICC patients (p = 0.0137). IF and IHC showed that HBsAg staining was only visible in HBV (+) ICC fresh tissues and organoids, HBsAg expression was negative in bile duct cells in the portal area. Quantitative PCR assay has shown that the expression of HBs antigen and HBx in normal hepatocytes were significantly higher than that in bile duct epithelial cells. Combined with the IF and IHC staining, it was confirmed that HBV does not infect normal bile duct epithelial cells. In addition, IF also showed that the staining of bile duct markers CK19 and CK7 were only visible in ICC fresh tissue and organoids, and the staining of hepatocyte markers Hep-Par1 and ALB was only visible in normal liver tissue fresh tissue. Real-time PCR and WB had the same results. High levels of HBV-DNA were detected in the culture medium of HBV (+) organoids but not in the culture medium of HBV (−) organoids. Age prediction is an important field in forensic and aging research. Traditional methods used DNA methylation, telomere shortening, and mitochondrial DNA mutations to conduct age prediction models. Sex chromosomes, like the Y chromosome, have a significant role in aging as previously reported in hematopoietic disease and many non-reproductive cancers. Until now, there is no age predictor based on the percentage of loss of Y chromosome (LOY). LOY has been previously revealed to be correlated with Alzheimer's disease, short survival, and higher risk of cancer. The possible correlation of LOY between normal aging was not fully explored. In this study, we conducted age prediction by measuring LOY percentage by droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), based on 232 healthy male samples, including 171 blood samples, 49 saliva samples, 12 semen samples. The age group of samples ranges from 0 to 99 years, with two individuals in almost every single age. Pearson correlation method was performed to calculate the correlation index. The result indicated a correlation index of 0.21 (p = 0.0059) between age and LOY percentage in blood samples, with the regression formula being y = − 0.016823 + 0.001098x. The correlation between LOY percentage and age is obvious only when the individuals were divided into different age groups (R = 0.73, p = 0.016). In the studied saliva and semen samples, p-values of the correlation are 0.11 and 0.20, respectively, showing no significant association between age and LOY percentage in these two biological materials. For the first time, we investigated male-specific age predictor based on LOY. The study showed that LOY in leukocytes can be regarded as a male-specific age predictor for age group estimation in forensic genetics. Urban park green spaces (UPGS) constitute a vital component of urban ecosystems, and the unequal distribution of UPGS can significantly impact the well-being of residents. Therefore, investigating the spatial delineation methods of UPGS service levels from the perspective of opportunity equity contributes to enhancing people's quality of life and promoting social harmony. Taking the Yingze District of Taiyuan City as an example, this study uses a modified accessibility measurement method of UPGS with the smallest clustered unit (building) as the service demand point and the UPGS entrance/exit as the service provision point, to establish a micro-scale evaluation framework for spatial equity considering the service radius and service quality of UPGS. The findings are as follows: after setting different service radius for UPGS at different levels, additional areas not covered by UPGS service were identified compared to setting the same service radius uniformly, which could prevent these areas from being overlooked in urban plans. After considering the quality of UPGS services, additional areas with low and high UPGS service levels were identified. Accurate spatial delineation of UPGS service level can avoid wasting public resources by including areas with high service levels in the scope of new UPGS requirements, while areas with low service levels lose opportunities for consideration in future urban infrastructure planning. This study emphasizes the residents' demand for both the quantity and quality of UPGS, facilitating an accurate assessment of whether urban residents can enjoy UPGS, the number of UPGS options available to them, and evaluate the quality of UPGS services experienced. Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) is a destructive citrus disease worldwide. Generating disease-resistant cultivars is the most effective, environmentally friendly and economic approach for disease control. However, citrus traditional breeding is lengthy and laborious. Here, we develop transgene-free canker-resistant Citrus sinensis lines in the T0 generation within 10 months through transformation of embryogenic protoplasts with Cas12a/crRNA ribonucleoprotein to edit the canker susceptibility gene CsLOB1. Among the 39 regenerated lines, 38 are biallelic/homozygous mutants, demonstrating a 97.4% biallelic/homozygous mutation rate. No off-target mutations are detected in the edited lines. Canker resistance of the cslob1-edited lines results from both abolishing canker symptoms and inhibiting Xcc growth. The transgene-free canker-resistant C. sinensis lines have received regulatory approval by USDA APHIS and are exempted from EPA regulation. This study provides a sustainable and efficient citrus canker control solution and presents an efficient transgene-free genome-editing strategy for citrus and other crops. Development of canker-resistant citrus cultivars via traditional approaches is a lengthy and laborious process. Key message: Genomic and genetic resources of G. mustelinum were effective for identifying genes for qualitative and quantitative traits. Gossypium mustelinum represents the earliest diverging evolutionary lineage of polyploid Gossypium, representing a rich gene pool for numerous desirable traits lost in cotton cultivars. Accurate information of the genomic features and the genetic architecture of objective traits are essential for the discovery and utilization of G. mustelinum genes. Here, we presented a chromosome-level genome assembly of G. mustelinum and developed an introgression population of the G. mustelinum in the background of G. hirsutum that contained 264 lines. We precisely delimited the boundaries of the 1,662 introgression segments with the help of G. mustelinum genome assembly, and 87% of crossover regions (COs) were less than 5 Kb. Genes for fuzzless and green fuzz were discovered, and a total of 14 stable QTLs were identified with 12 novel QTLs across four independent environments. A new fiber length QTL, qUHML/SFC-A11, was confined to a 177-Kb region, and GmOPB4 and GmGUAT11 were considered as the putative candidate genes as potential negative regulator for fiber length. We presented a genomic and genetic resource of G. mustelinum, which we demonstrated that it was efficient for identifying genes for qualitative and quantitative traits. Ski jumping is a high-speed sport, which makes it difficult to accurately analyze the technical motion in a subjective way. To solve this problem, we propose an image-based pose estimation method for analyzing the motion of ski jumpers. First, an image keypoint dataset of ski jumpers (KDSJ) was constructed. Next, in order to improve the precision of ski jumper pose estimation, an efficient channel attention (ECA) module was embedded in the residual structures of a high-resolution network (HRNet) to fuse more useful feature information. At the training stage, we used a transfer learning method which involved pre-training on the Common Objection in Context (COCO2017) to obtain feature knowledge from the COCO2017 for using in the task of ski jumper pose estimation. Finally, the detected keypoints of the ski jumpers were used to analyze the motion characteristics, using hip and knee angles over time (frames) as an example. Our experimental results showed that the proposed ECA-HRNet achieved the average precision of 73.4% on the COCO2017 test-dev set and the average precision of 86.4% on the KDSJ test set using the ground truth bounding boxes. Image dehazing is an important problem since computer recognition requires high-quality inputs. Recently, many researches tend to build an end-to-end multiscale network to restore haze-free images. But unfortunately, existing multiscale networks tend to recover under-dehazed results due to inefficient feature extraction. To solve the problem, we propose an enhanced context aggregation network for single image dehazing named ECANet. Based on encoder–decoder structure, the ECANet improves feature representation by three feature aggregation blocks (FABs) on each scale. The FAB is a new efficient feature extraction module, which adequately extracts content features and style features due to the difference receptive field between dilated convolution and ordinary convolution. To better fuse these complementary features, we combine spatial and channel attention mechanism to each FAB. After the decoding process, we also adopt an enhancing block to further refine image details under the supervision of clear references. The experimental results show that the proposed ECANet performs better than state-of-the-art dehazing methods, which recovers clear images with discriminative texture and natural color. Objective: We aimed to clone and express the human Cu, Zn superoxide dismutase (hSOD1) in Bacillus subtilis 1012. Also, we investigated the expression level of hSOD1 under different induction conditions. Result: As an essential member of the antioxidant defense system in vivo, hSOD1 has become a therapeutic agent against host diseases, such as oxygen toxicity, acute inflammation, and radiation injury. The recombinant hSOD1 was successfully secreted extracellularly into B. subtilis 1012. The expression conditions were optimized, including inoculum size, different media, temperatures, and inducer concentrations. Finally, the highest level of hSOD1 was produced as a soluble form in Super rich medium by 2% inoculum with 0.2 mM of IPTG at 37 °C after the induction for 24 h. Besides, 20 g/L of lactose also displayed the same inductive effect on hSOD1 expression as that of IPTG (0.2 mM). Finally, the specific activity of purified hSOD1 was determined to be 1625 U/mg in the presence of 800 μM of Cu2+ and 20 μM of Zn2+. Footprint data have large intra-class variances and small inter-class variances; therefore, the key to the footprint recognition problem is to mine and learn the discriminative local details in the footprint images. In this paper, an algorithm based on a multi-scale confusion and filling mechanism is proposed to address the problem of footprint recognition from the perspective of fine-grained image recognition. Firstly, the pressure footprint image is divided evenly into several sub-regions, and the score of each sub-region is calculated by a joint confidence function. Secondly, using the filling mechanism of the Region Filling Module, the region with the lowest score in the split image is filled with a higher one for data enhancement. Then, the filled image is confused once using the Multi-Scale Region Confusion Module, and the regions with high confidence score are confused again to obtain an image with multi-scale information. Finally, the footprint features of the filled image and the confused image are extracted by the backbone network and optimized by the joint loss function to carry out the task of footprint recognition. Comprehensive experiments show that the proposed algorithm achieves 89.3%, 93.4% and 86.5% on three benchmark dataset including CUB-200-2011, Aircraft and Stanford Dogs. Exploring the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of the border land use multifunctionality (LUMF) provides insights for taking advantage of border land use and optimizing border land use policies. Based on the improved Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) mode, this study identifies and evaluates the LUMFs in the China-Vietnam border area between 2000 and 2018 from the perspectives of agricultural production, social security, ecological service, landscape recreation, and national security. The results show that: 1) The comprehensive land use functions in most counties and cities continued to be improved. 2) The comprehensive land use function exhibits remarkable spatial divergence and aggregation characteristics. The high-value area of the agricultural production function and social security function evolves from the east to the west. In addition, the spatial evolution of ecological service function is complicated, without an obvious spatial divergence and aggregation pattern. The landscape recreation function shows different spatial differentiation characteristics in the early and middle stage, and forms a large cluster in the later stage. Finally, the spatial evolution pattern of the national security function is significant. 3) Designing differentiated border land policies, improving border land use security, and establishing a long-term mechanism for ecological protection and ecological compensation can aid in optimizing the LUMF level in the border area. Key message: A fiber length QTL, qFL-c10-1, was fine-mapped to a 96.5-kb region containing one gene that has not been characterized in plants. Fiber length is an important component of cotton fiber quality, which is associated with other quality properties such as fiber strength, fiber maturity, and fineness. In our previous studies, a stable QTL qFL-c10-1 controlling fiber length had been identified on chromosome A10 in an upland cotton recombinant inbred line (RIL) population from a cross between Jimian5 and DH962. To fine-map qFL-c10-1, an F2 population with 1081 individual plants from a cross between a recombinant line DJ61 and Jimian5 was established. Using linkage analysis and progeny recombination experiment, qFL-c10-1 was mapped into a 96.5-kb genomic region that just contained one proper transcript Ghir_A10G022020 (described as GhFL10), an undescribed gene in plants. One 214-bp deletion was identified in the promoter region of DJ61 compared with Jimian5. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and comparative analysis of parental sequences suggested that GhFL10 was the most promising candidate gene for qFL-c10-1. According to RNA-seq, yeast two-hybrid assay and bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC), we speculate that GhFL10 interacts with NF-YA transcription factors to negatively regulate fiber elongation. A new positive-sense single-stranded RNA (+ssRNA) mycovirus, Verticillium dahliae magoulivirus 1 (VdMoV1), was isolated from two strains (2-19 and XLZ70) of Verticillium dahliae. The complete genome of VdMoV1 is 2303 nucleotides (nt) in length and has a large open reading frame (nt positions from 61 to 1938) encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). A multiple sequence alignment indicated that the central region of the RdRp encoded by VdMoV1 contains eight typical viral RdRp motifs. BLASTp analysis demonstrated that VdMoV1 has the highest sequence identity (86.88%) to Bremia lactucae associated ourmia-like virus 2 (BlaOLV2). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that VdMoV1 is a new member of the genus Magoulivirus. As far as we know, VdMoV1 is the first reported member of the family Botourmiaviridae infecting V. dahliae. Huanglongbing (HLB) is a devastating disease of citrus, caused by the phloem-colonizing bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas). Here, we present evidence that HLB is an immune-mediated disease. We show that CLas infection of Citrus sinensis stimulates systemic and chronic immune responses in phloem tissue, including callose deposition, production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as H2O2, and induction of immunity-related genes. The infection also upregulates genes encoding ROS-producing NADPH oxidases, and downregulates antioxidant enzyme genes, supporting that CLas causes oxidative stress. CLas-triggered ROS production localizes in phloem-enriched bark tissue and is followed by systemic cell death of companion and sieve element cells. Inhibition of ROS levels in CLas-positive stems by NADPH oxidase inhibitor diphenyleneiodonium (DPI) indicates that NADPH oxidases contribute to CLas-triggered ROS production. To investigate potential treatments, we show that addition of the growth hormone gibberellin (known to have immunoregulatory activities) upregulates genes encoding H2O2-scavenging enzymes and downregulates NADPH oxidases. Furthermore, foliar spray of HLB-affected citrus with gibberellin or antioxidants (uric acid, rutin) reduces H2O2 concentrations and cell death in phloem tissues and reduces HLB symptoms. Thus, our results indicate that HLB is an immune-mediated disease that can be mitigated with antioxidants and gibberellin. Huanglongbing is a devastating disease of citrus, caused by phloem-colonizing bacteria. Here, the authors present evidence that the disease is the result of an exacerbated immune response to the infection, including production of reactive oxygen species, and that antioxidants and a growth-promoting hormone can mitigate disease symptoms. The positive influence domination number of G, denoted by γ PI (G) , is the cardinality of the smallest positive influence dominating set of G. To find a smallest positive influence dominating set of G is called the positive influence domination problem. In this paper, we first establish some sharp lower bounds on γ PI (G) . Single image dehazing, as a key prerequisite of high-level computer vision tasks, catches more and more attentions. Traditional model-based methods recover haze-free images via atmospheric scattering model, which achieve favorable dehazing effect but endure artifacts, halos, and color distortion. By contrast, recent learning-based methods dehaze images by a model-free way, which achieve better color fidelity but tend to acquire under-dehazed results due to lacking of knowledge guiding. To combine these merits, we propose a novel online knowledge distillation network for single image dehazing named OKDNet. Specifically, the proposed OKDNet firstly preprocesses hazy images and acquires abundant shared features by a multiscale network constructed with attention guided residual dense blocks. After that, these features are sent to different branches to generate two preliminary dehazed images via supervision training: one branch acquires dehazed images via the atmospheric scattering model; another branch directly establishes the mapping relationship between hazy images and clear images, which dehazes images by a model-free way. To effectively fuse useful information from these two branches and acquire a better dehazed results, we propose an efficient feature aggregation block consisted of multiple parallel convolutions with different receptive. Moreover, we adopt a one-stage knowledge distillation strategy named online knowledge distillation to joint optimization of our OKDNet. The proposed OKDNet achieves superior performance compared with state-of-the-art methods on both synthetic and real-world images with fewer model parameters. The Chinese tallow tree (Triadica sebifera) can produce oil with high content of unsaturated fatty acids in seeds and shows attractive leaf color in autumn and winter. Here, the 739 Mb chromosome-scale genome sequence of the Chinese tallow tree was assembled and it reveals the Chinese tallow tree is a tetraploid. Numerous genes related to nutrition assimilation, energy utilization, biosynthesis of secondary metabolites and resistance significantly expanded or are specific to the Chinese tallow tree. These genes would enable the Chinese tallow tree to obtain high adaptability. More genes in fatty acids biosynthesis in its genome, especially for unsaturated fatty acids biosynthesis, and higher expression of these genes in seeds would be attributed to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids. Cyanidin 3-O-glucoside was identified as the major component of anthocyanin in red leaves. All structural genes in anthocyanin biosynthesis show significantly higher expression in red leaves than in green leaves. Transcription factors, seven MYB and one bHLH, were predicted to regulate these anthocyanin biosynthesis genes. Collectively, we provided insight into the polyploidization, high adaptability and biosynthesis of the high content of unsaturated fatty acids in seeds and anthocyanin in leaves for the Chinese tallow tree. State-of-the-art convolutional neural networks (CNNs) on sketch classification cannot balance the expression ability of final feature vectors and the problems of gradient vanishing and network degradation. In order to improve the classification accuracy, we design a mixed attention dense network for sketch classification. According to the sparse characteristics of the sketch, this network uses overlapping pooling of a large size. In addition, dense blocks are added on the top of the middle convolutional layers to achieve feature reuse. Specifically, in order to extract more representative local, detail information, mixed attention is applied in the dense blocks. Finally, the center loss is combined with the softmax cross entropy loss to improve the classification accuracy. Through experiments, we compare our model with several state-of-the-art methods on the TU-Berlin dataset, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our model. Zirconolite is a common Zr-rich accessary mineral in mafic rocks. It is also an ideal U–Pb/Pb–Pb chronometer because it commonly contains high U content (mostly 0.1–10 wt%) and negligible initial Pb. However, zirconolite is usually very small (e.g., ~ 1 μm in width) in lunar rocks, requiring a high spatial resolution analysis. We analyzed a single, large (25 μm × 20 μm) grain of zirconolite in lunar meteorite NWA 4485 using Pb–Pb dating by NanoSIMS and U–Th–Pb dating by EPMA. The resultant U–Th–Pb age is 4540 ± 340 Ma (2σ) with a spatial resolution of 1.3 μm. The Pb–Pb age by NanoSIMS is 4348.5 ± 4.8 Ma (2σ) with a spatial resolution of ~ 2 μm, consistent with the age of 4352 ± 10 Ma and 4344 ± 14 Ma reported in the same meteorite and its paired meteorite NWA 4472. Although U–Th–Pb age is somewhat older, it still includes the NanoSIMS results within the analytical uncertainty. This work demonstrates the potential application of the combined EPMA dating and REE analysis of lunar zirconolite, with the benefits of high spatial resolution, non-destructive, and readily accessibility of the instrument. The precision of the EPMA dating (7.6%, 2σ) can be improved by increasing the counting time for Pb, U and Th. We expect to apply this EPMA technique for a quick and non-destructive age survey and geochemical study of zirconolite grains from the lunar mare basalts newly returned by Chang'E-5 mission which landed on a very young (1.2–2.0 Ga by crater-counting chronology) basalt unit in Procellarum KREEP Terrain. Examining how economic infrastructure affects China's industrial energy efficiency (EE) convergence is critical in the process of overall industrial EE improvement, especially under the background of promoting equitable growth and developing a modernized economy. Based on panel data from 30 China's provinces between 2000 and 2017, this paper explores the existence of industrial EE convergence and examines the influence of economic infrastructure on industrial EE convergence in China and three different regions. The results show clear evidence of convergence in industrial EE for China and the three regions, indicating that the lagging provinces tend to catch up with the advanced ones in the long term. The catch-up speed from the western region is the highest, followed by the central and eastern region. Economic infrastructure has significant impacts on industrial EE convergence in China and the three regions, while the impacts of different types of infrastructure are divergent across region. Energy infrastructure is conducive to industrial EE convergence in the eastern and western region, whereas transport infrastructure makes a better performance in the central region. Cutting propagation is widely used in establishing poplar plantations, and this approach requires efficient adventitious root (AR) forming capacities. Although poplar species are considered to form roots easily, interspecific variations in AR formation are still observed. To better understand the gene regulatory network underlying the conserved modified pathways that are essential for AR formation in poplar species, comparative transcriptomic approaches were applied to identify the conserved common genes that were differentially expressed during the AR formation processes in two poplar species (Populus × euramericana and P. simonii) in woody plant medium (WPM). A total of 2146 genes were identified as conserved genes that shared similar gene expression profiles in at least one comparison. These conserved genes were enriched in diverse hormone signaling pathways, as well as the mitogen-associated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, suggesting an important role for signaling transduction in coordinating external stimuli and endogenous physiological status during AR regulation in poplar. Furthermore, the co-expression network analysis of conserved genes allowed identification of several co-expressed modules (CM) that are co-expressed with distinct biological functions, for instance, CM1 was enriched in defense response and hormone signaling, CM2 and CM3 were overrepresented in defense response-related pathways and for cell cycle, respectively. These results suggest that the AR formation processes in poplar were finely tuned at the transcriptomic level by integrating multiple biological processes essential for AR formation. Our results suggest conserved machinery for AR formation in poplar and generated informative gene co-expression networks that describe the basis of AR formation in these species. Ringwoodite and wadsleyite are the high-pressure polymorphs of olivine, which are common in shocked meteorites. They are the major constituent minerals in the terrestrial mantle. NWA 8705, an olivine-phyric shergottite, was heavily shocked, producing shock-induced melt veins and pockets associated with four occurrences of ringwoodite: (1) the lamellae intergrown with the host olivine adjacent to a shock-induced melt pocket; (2) polycrystalline assemblages preserving the shapes and compositions of the pre-existing olivine within a shock-induced melt vein (60 μm in width); (3) the rod-like grains coexisting with wadsleyite and clinopyroxene within a shock-induced melt vein; (4) the microlite clusters embedded in silicate glass within a very thin shock-induced melt vein (20 μm in width). The first two occurrences of ringwoodite likely formed via solid-state transformation from olivine, supported by their morphological features and homogeneous compositions (Mg# 64–62) similar to the host olivine (Mg# 66–64). The third occurrence of ringwoodite might fractionally crystallize from the shock-induced melt, based on its heterogeneous and more FeO-enriched compositions (Mg# 76–51) than those of the coexisting wadsleyite (Mg# 77–67) and the host olivine (Mg# 66–64) of this meteorite. The coexistence of ringwoodite, wadsleyite, and clinopyroxene suggests a post-shock pressure of 14–16 GPa and a temperature of 1650–1750 °C. The fourth occurrence of ringwoodite with compositional variation (Mg# 72–58) likely crystallized from melt at 16–18 GPa and 1750–1850 °C. The presence of the four occurrences of ringwoodite was probably due to their very fast cooling rates in and/or adjacent to the thin shock-induced melt veins and small pockets. In addition, the higher Fa-contents of the host olivine (Fa35–39) in NWA 8705 than those in ordinary chondrites (Fa16–32) makes the olivine–ringwoodite transformation prolong to a lower pressure. The fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in case of fish swimming in the vortex street is investigated by numerical simulations. The vortex street is generated by a D-section cylinder. A 2-D fish model is placed on the downstream centerline of the bluff cylinder at a distance of 4 diameters away from the center of the cylinder. To simulate the fish body undulation and movement, the moving mesh is generated by a coupling approach based on the radial basis function and the overset grid technology. The Navier-Stokes equation in the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian form is solved by coupling with the kinematics equation. Three cases are investigated: in a stationary position without deformation, a passive locomotion without deformation, and an active deformation based on the Kármán gait model. The results indicate that the fish body is acted by an alternating force and moment when it is located in the centerline of the vortex street. Furthermore, the fish could extract sufficient kinetic energy to overcome the drag under suitable conditions even when it keeps rigid and out of the suction zone. When the fish body undulates based on the Kármán gait model, the interaction is evidently shown between the fish body and the vortices. The theoretical analysis demonstrates that the lateral force and the moment acting on the fish body vary in a cosine formula, with the lateral translation and the body rotation as a result. This study focuses on the behavior of the fish body in the bluff cylinder wake and reproduces some phenomena observed in the experiments. We names it as a Chinese Medicine Data Monitoring Committee (CMDMC). A panel composed of clinical and statistical experts shared their experience and thoughts on the important aspects of CMDMCs. Subsequently, a community standard on CMDMCs (T/CACM 1323-2019) was issued by the China Association of Chinese Medicine on September 12, 2019. Key message: The temporal expression profiles of citrus leaves explain the sink–source transition of immature leaves to mature leaves and provide knowledge regarding the differential responses of mature and immature leaves to biotic stress such as citrus canker and Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri). Citrus is an important fruit crop worldwide. Different developmental stages of citrus leaves are associated with distinct features, such as differences in susceptibilities to pathogens and insects, as well as photosynthetic capacity. Here, we investigated the mechanisms underlying these distinctions by comparing the gene expression profiles of mature and immature citrus leaves. Immature (stages V3 and V4), transition (stage V5), and mature (stage V6) Citrus sinensis leaves were chosen for RNA-seq analyses. Carbohydrate biosynthesis, photosynthesis, starch biosynthesis, and disaccharide metabolic processes were enriched among the upregulated differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the V5 and V6 stages compared with that in the V3 and V4 stages. Glucose level was found to be higher in V5 and V6 than in V3 and V4. Among the four stages, the largest number of DEGs between contiguous stages were identified between V5 and V4, consistent with a change from sink to source, as well as with the sucrose and starch quantification data. The differential expression profiles related to cell wall synthesis, secondary metabolites such as flavonoids and terpenoids, amino acid biosynthesis, and immunity between immature and mature leaves may contribute to their different responses to Asian citrus psyllid infestation. The expression data suggested that both the constitutive and induced gene expression of immunity-related genes plays important roles in the greater resistance of mature leaves against Xanthomonas citri compared with immature leaves. The gene expression profiles in the different stages can help identify stage-specific promoters for the manipulation of the expression of citrus traits according to the stage. Existing research on the relationship among corruption, energy efficiency, and industrial carbon emissions is limited, while incorporating them into one analytical framework might provide new insights for the mechanism between corruption and industrial carbon emissions. Using the provincial panel data in China's industry from 2005 to 2015, this study applies the System Generalized Method of Moments (SYS-GMM) to explore the impacts of corruption and energy efficiency on industrial carbon emissions. The results indicate that under current economic development status, the effects of corruption and energy efficiency on industrial carbon emissions are divergent; i.e., corruption can enhance carbon emissions, whereas energy efficiency facilitates carbon emission reduction. Energy efficiency plays a mediating role in the relationship between corruption and carbon emissions for both the whole sample and the sub-samples. In other words, corruption aggravates industrial carbon emissions through lowering energy efficiency. Additionally, for the eastern region in China, there is an inverted U-shaped curve relationship between corruption and carbon emissions, as well as a U-shaped curve relationship between energy efficiency and carbon emissions. Key message: We have developed multiplex genome editing toolkits for citrus that significantly improve citrus genome editing efficacy. CRISPR/Cas systems have been engineered for genome editing in many organisms, including plants. However, the gene editing efficiency in citrus via CRISPR technology remains too low to be implemented for genetic improvement in practice. Moreover, it is very difficult to obtain homozygous or biallelic knockout mutants in citrus. Here, we have developed multiplex genome editing toolkits for citrus including PEG-mediated protoplast transformation, a GFP reporter system that allows the rapid assessment of CRISPR constructs, citrus U6 promoters with improved efficacy, and tRNA-mediated or Csy4-mediated multiplex genome editing. Using the toolkits, we successfully conducted genome modification of embryogenic protoplast cells and epicotyl tissues. We have achieved a biallelic mutation rate of 44.4% and a homozygous mutation rate of 11.1%, representing a significant improvement in citrus genome editing efficacy. Huanglongbing (HLB) is one of the most catastrophic citrus diseases. HLB pathogens Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (Las), Ca. L. africanus (Laf), and Ca. L. americanus (Lam) and their insect vectors Asian citrus psyllids (ACP, Diaphorina citri) and African citrus psyllids (AfCP, Trioza erytreae) are invading citrus producing regions where HLB was absent previously, including the Mediterranean basin. Importantly, the Mediterranean region is one of the two major citrus producing areas without HLB. Here, I provide a short perspective regarding a) information related to the distribution of the HLB pathogens and psyllid vectors in this region and neighboring countries, b) predicted distribution of the HLB for this region, c) the possible evolution of Liberibacters and how they could have established their relationship with different hosts, and d) approaches to fend off HLB. Specifically, I emphasized the following measurements: quarantine measures against AfCP, ACP, Las, Laf, and Lam, early detection and diagnosis of HLB and removal of inoculum, surveillance of AfCP and ACP and eradication of citrus psyllids once identified. The aboveground parts of terrestrial plants, collectively called the phyllosphere, have a key role in the global balance of atmospheric carbon dioxide and oxygen. The phyllosphere represents one of the most abundant habitats for microbiota colonization. Whether and how plants control phyllosphere microbiota to ensure plant health is not well understood. Here we show that the Arabidopsis quadruple mutant (min7 fls2 efr cerk1; hereafter, mfec)1, simultaneously defective in pattern-triggered immunity and the MIN7 vesicle-trafficking pathway, or a constitutively activated cell death1 (cad1) mutant, carrying a S205F mutation in a membrane-attack-complex/perforin (MACPF)-domain protein, harbour altered endophytic phyllosphere microbiota and display leaf-tissue damage associated with dysbiosis. The Shannon diversity index and the relative abundance of Firmicutes were markedly reduced, whereas Proteobacteria were enriched in the mfec and cad1S205F mutants, bearing cross-kingdom resemblance to some aspects of the dysbiosis that occurs in human inflammatory bowel disease. Bacterial community transplantation experiments demonstrated a causal role of a properly assembled leaf bacterial community in phyllosphere health. Pattern-triggered immune signalling, MIN7 and CAD1 are found in major land plant lineages and are probably key components of a genetic network through which terrestrial plants control the level and nurture the diversity of endophytic phyllosphere microbiota for survival and health in a microorganism-rich environment. Mutations in genes involved in immune signalling and vesicle trafficking cause defects in the leaf microbiome of Arabidopsis thaliana that result in damage to leaf tissues, suggesting mechanisms by which terrestrial plants control the level and diversity of endophytic phyllosphere microbiota. Leucine-responsive regulatory proteins (Lrps) are a family of transcription factors involved in diverse biological processes in bacteria. So far, molecular mechanism of Lrps for regulating antibiotics biosynthesis in actinomycetes remains largely unexplored. This study, for the first time in Streptomyces lincolnensis, identified an Lrp (named as SLCG_Lrp) associated with lincomycin production. SLCG_Lrp was validated to be a positive regulator for lincomycin biosynthesis by directly stimulating transcription of two structural genes (lmbA and lmbV), three resistance genes (lmrA, lmrB and lmrC), and a regulatory gene (lmbU) within the lincomycin biosynthetic gene (lin) cluster. SLCG_Lrp was transcriptionally self-inhibited and triggered the expression of its adjacent gene SLCG_3127 encoding a LysE superfamily protein. Further, the binding site of SLCG_Lrp in the intergenic region of SLCG_3127 and SLCG_Lrp was precisely identified. Inactivation of SLCG_3127 in S. lincolnensis resulted in yield improvement of lincomycin, which was caused by intracellular accumulation of proline and cysteine. Arginine and phenylalanine were identified as specific regulatory ligands, respectively, to reduce and promote DNA-binding affinity of SLCG_Lrp. We further found that SLCG_Lrp was directly repressed by SLCG_2919, the first identified transcription factor outside lin cluster for lincomycin production. Therefore, our findings revealed SLCG_Lrp-mediated transcriptional regulation of lincomycin biosynthesis. Compared with real-valued complex networks, complex-valued dynamic networks have a wider application space. In addition, considering the existence of time delay and uncertainty in the actual system, the synchronization problem of fractional-order complex-valued dynamic networks with uncertain parameter and coupled delay is studied in this paper. In particular, the uncertain parameter is correlated with time delay. By using fractional derivative inequalities and linear delay fractional order equations, the synchronization of uncertainty complex networks with coupling delay is realized. Sufficient conditions for global asymptotic synchronization are obtained. The obtained synchronization results are applicable to most complex network systems with or without delay. Advanced biophysical models like neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI) have been developed to estimate the microstructural complexity of voxels enriched in dendrites and axons for both in vivo and ex vivo studies. NODDI metrics derived from high spatial and angular resolution diffusion MRI using the fixed mouse brain as a reference template have not yet been reported due in part to the extremely long scan time required. In this study, we modified the three-dimensional diffusion-weighted spin-echo pulse sequence for multi-shell and undersampling acquisition to reduce the scan time. This allowed us to acquire several exhaustive datasets that would otherwise not be attainable. NODDI metrics were derived from a complex 8-shell diffusion (1000–8000 s/mm2) dataset with 384 diffusion gradient-encoding directions at 50 µm isotropic resolution. These provided a foundation for exploration of tradeoffs among acquisition parameters. A three-shell acquisition strategy covering low, medium, and high b values with at least angular resolution of 64 is essential for ex vivo NODDI experiments. The good agreement between neurite density index (NDI) and the orientation dispersion index (ODI) with the subsequent histochemical analysis of myelin and neuronal density highlights that NODDI could provide new insight into the microstructure of the brain. Furthermore, we found that NDI is sensitive to microstructural variations in the corpus callosum using a well-established demyelination cuprizone model. Objective: To follow up the participants of the randomized clinical trial "Efficacy and Safety of Niaoduqing Particles (尿毒清颗粒) for Delaying Moderate-to-Severe Renal Dysfunction", and assess the long-term effects of Niaoduqing Particles on delaying the progression of renal dysfunction.Methods: Participants, who had previously been randomly assigned to receive Niaoduqing Particles or placebo for 24 weeks (146 cases in each group), were invited to follow-up and all were administered Niaoduqing Particles 5 g thrice daily and 10 g before bedtime for 24 weeks. The primary endpoints were changes in baseline serum creatinine (Scr) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) after completion of the open-label treatment period.Results: After the double-blind period, the median (interquartile range) changes in Scr were 1.1 (-13.0-24.1) and 11.7 (-2.6-42.9) μmol/L for the Niaoduqing Particle and placebo groups, respectively (P=0.008), and the median changes in eGFRs were-0.2 (-4.3-2.7) and-2.21 (-5.7-0.8) mL•min-1•1.73 m-2, respectively (P=0.016). There were significant differences in the double-blind period changes in renal function between groups. After the open-label period, the median changes in Scr were 9.0 (-10.0-41.9) and 17.5 (-6.0-50.0) μmol/L for the Niaoduqing Particle and placebo groups according to baseline grouping, respectively (P=0.214), and the median changes in eGFRs were-2.3 (-6.4-1.9) and-3.7 (-7.5-1.1) mL•min-1•1.73 m-2, respectively (P=0.134). There were no statistical differences in the open-label period changes in renal function between groups. The eGFR reduction of participants who accepted Niaoduqing Particle treatment for 48 weeks was projected to 2.5 mL•min-1•1.73 m-2 per year.Conclusion: Niaoduqing Particles appear to have long-term efficacy for patients with moderate-to-severe renal dysfunction. Although there was no statistical difference, the early use of Niaoduqing Paticles seems to ameliorate the worsening of renal function. Myelinated white matter showing diamagnetic susceptibility is important for information transfer in the brain. In Parkinson's disease (PD), the white matter is also suffering degenerative alterations. Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is a novel technique for noninvasive assessment of regional white matter ultrastructure, and provides different information of white matter in addition to standard diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). In this study, we used QSM to detect spatial white matter alterations in PD patients (n = 65) and age- and sex-matched normal controls (n = 46). Voxel-wise tract-based spatial statistics were performed to analyze QSM and DTI data. QSM showed extensive white matter involvement-including regions adjacent to the frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes-in PD patients, which was more widespread than that observed using DTI. Both QSM and DTI showed similar alterations in the left inferior longitudinal fasciculus and right cerebellar hemisphere. Further, alterations in the white matter were correlated with motor impairment and global disease severity in PD patients. We suggest that QSM may provide a novel approach for detecting white matter alterations and underlying network disruptions in PD. Diffusion tensor histology holds great promise for quantitative characterization of structural connectivity in mouse models of neurological and psychiatric conditions. There has been extensive study in both the clinical and preclinical domains on the complex tradeoffs between the spatial resolution, the number of samples in diffusion q-space, scan time, and the reliability of the resultant data. We describe here a method for accelerating the acquisition of diffusion MRI data to support quantitative connectivity measurements in the whole mouse brain using compressed sensing (CS). The use of CS allows substantial increase in spatial resolution and/or reduction in scan time. Compared to the fully sampled results at the same scan time, the subtle anatomical details of the brain, such as cortical layers, dentate gyrus, and cerebellum, were better visualized using CS due to the higher spatial resolution. Compared to the fully sampled results at the same spatial resolution, the scalar diffusion metrics, including fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD), showed consistently low error across the whole brain (< 6.0%) even with 8.0 times acceleration. The node properties of connectivity (strength, cluster coefficient, eigenvector centrality, and local efficiency) demonstrated correlation of better than 95.0% between accelerated and fully sampled connectomes. Main conclusion: High-quality and dense genetic maps were constructed, and leaf shape variation was dissected by QTL mapping in poplar.Species in the genus Populus, also known as poplars, are important woody species and considered model plants for perennial trees. High-density genetic maps are valuable genomic resources for population genetics. Here, we generated a high-quality and dense genetic map for an F1 poplar population using high-throughput NGS-based genotyping. A total of 92,097 high-quality SNP markers were developed by stringent filtering and identification. In total, 889 and 1650 SNPs formed the female and male genetic maps, respectively. To test the application of the genetic maps, QTL mapping of leaf shape was conducted for this F1 population. A total of nine parameters were scored for leaf shape variation in three different environments. Combining genetic maps and measurements of the nine leaf shape parameters, we mapped a total of 42 significant QTLs. The highest LOD score of all QTLs was 9.2, and that QTL explained the most (15.13%) trait variation. A total of nine QTLs could be detected in at least two environments, and they were located in two genomic regions. Within these two QTL regions, some candidate genes for regulating leaf shape were predicted through functional annotation. The successful mapping of leaf shape QTLs demonstrated the utility of our genetic maps. Background and Aims: Root branching leads to morphological and functional heterogeneity of fine roots. However, the structure of soil microbiota associated with root branching orders has never been investigated. Deep insights into rhizosphere microbial community could provide a better understanding of the plant-microbe relationship. Methods: Fine roots of poplar ( Populus × euramericana (Dode) Guinier.) were sampled and sorted into three groups according to their branching orders. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the surface features of different orders of fine roots. Illumina MiSeq was employed to analyze the bacterial community structure of soil compartments from different root orders (i.e., R1, R2, and R3) and bulk soil compartment (NR). Results: SEM showed that the first-order root with smaller diameter had dense coverage of vigorous root hairs, whereas higher order roots with larger diameter had sloughed-off cortical tissues on the rhizoplane. The diversity of bacterial communities was higher in the R1 and R2 compartment than in R3 or NR. There were 80 genera with a relative abundance above 0.05% in soils. Ternary plot revealed that bacterial genera were significantly enriched in R1 than in R2 or R3. Redundant analysis (RDA) showed that 12 dominant bacterial genera with a relative abundance over 1% were significantly correlated with P and NH -N content of soils. Conclusions: Root orders could influence the inhabitation of bacterial communities. The core groups of bacterial communities inhabiting the rhizosphere were correlated with soil nutrients.
