Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare type of aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that poses a great diagnostic challenge due to its highly heterogenous clinical manifestations. Although 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) is widely used as a diagnostic tool for patients suspected of having lymphoma, as it reveals FDG-avid lesions, the FDG avidity of IVLBCL has not been extensively characterized. Here, we present a comprehensive report of FDG avidity in IVLBCL and its association with clinicopathological features and survival. This descriptive observational study included consecutive patients aged at least 18 years diagnosed with IVLBCL in Peking Union Medical Hospital across 9 years. Among 50 screened IVLBCL patients, 42 had undergone 18F-FDG PET/CT to detect possible lesions for biopsy before pathological diagnosis; their FDG PET/CT (positron emission computed tomography, PET/CT) reports were retrospectively reviewed. The primary endpoint was the clinical description of FDG avidity of newly diagnosed intravascular large B-cell lymphoma and frequency. A total of 73.8% patients showed FDG-avid lesions, with a median SUVmax of 7.4 (range 1–27.7), which was lower than that for other aggressive lymphomas. Clinicopathological features were the same between the FDG-avid group and the non-FDG-avid group, except that the latter had a higher Ki-67 index (median 90% in the nonavid group vs. 80% in the avid group, P = 0.043). The overall survival rate was not different between the PET/CT groups. Our findings demonstrate that FDG PET/CT is a useful diagnostic tool for detecting FDG-avid lesions in IVLBCL patients. China is the largest CO2 emitter in the world and announced that carbon peak and neutral targets will be achieved before 2030 and 2060, respectively. A retrospective analysis of past CO2 emissions and their drivers is important for the actions of peaking CO2 emissions before 2030 in China. CO2 emissions from energy use (coal, oil, and natural gas) and cement production from 2000 to 2020 were calculated first, and their drivers were decomposed into economic and population growth, energy intensity, and emission coefficient by logarithmic mean Divisa index (LMDI) analysis in this study. China's CO2 emissions increased nearly threefold from 3385 in 2000 to 10,788 million tonnes (Mt) in 2020, with a decline from 2013 to 2016. Coal was the major emission sector contributing more than 70% in most years, while natural gas emissions increased nearly 13 times from 53 to 723 Mt in the two decades, although its contribution only accounted for 6.7% in 2020. Economic growth was the major positive driver, while energy intensity reduction was the major negative driver of the emission increments by year and by the Five Year Plan (FYP). Emission coefficient reduction gradually became important due to its negative effect, especially in the 13th FYP, which offset ~ 30% of the emissions induced by economic growth. The projections of CO2 emissions in 2025, 2030, and 2035 could be 11,596 ± 582, 11,774 ± 621, and 11,401 ± 672 Mt, respectively, suggesting that China's carbon emissions could peak around 2030 with an increment of ~ 1000 Mt on the 2020 levels. Under the sustainable growth of the economy and population, it is possible to reduce the carbon peak value or achieve peak time earlier through the additional reduction of energy intensity and emission coefficient by technological progress and energy alternatives such as non-fossil fuels. CAR-T cell therapy did not achieve the desired efficacy in some patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We conducted single-cell RNA and TCR sequencing as well as methylation chip profiling of peripheral blood samples in DLBCL patients. Patients who achieved complete remission (CR) showed an upward trend in T-cell levels, especially CD8-effector T cells. The responders exhibited T-cell clone expansion, more active T-cell transformation, and frequent cell communication. Highly expressed genes in the CR group were enriched in functions like leukocyte-mediated cytotoxicity and activation of immune response, while the non-CR group was enriched in pathways related to DNA damage and P53-mediated intrinsic apoptotic. More differentially methylated probes (DMPs) were identified in the baseline of the non-CR group (779 vs 350). GSEA analysis revealed that the genes annotated by DMPs were associated with cellular immune functions in T cells, including the generation of chemokines, leukocyte-mediated cytotoxicity, and cell-killing functions. The genes with low expression in the non-CR group exhibited a high methylation status. There is heterogeneity in the cellular, molecular, and epigenetic characteristics of host T cells in patients with different clinical outcomes. Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) denotes a heterogeneous category of cancers occurring within the bone marrow that are initiated by the unrestricted proliferation of haematopoietic stem cells. Various factors effectuate the dysregulation of AML cell proliferation; for instance, the upregulation of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R) within AML cells influences their proliferation. However, there is a current dearth of research assessing the association between IGF1R and prognostic risk as well as its potential as an AML immunotherapeutic. This study aims to elucidate the role of IGF1R in AML progression and evaluate its prognostic value. To this end, RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was analysed to compare IGF1R expression between AML and normal tissues. Moreover, a Kaplan–Meier survival analysis was performed to determine whether IGF1R expression correlates with patient overall survival (OS). TCGA data revealed upregulated IGF1R expression in the peripheral blood of AML patients compared to that in healthy individuals. Meanwhile, IGF1R expression positively correlates with patient OS. Additionally, elevated IGF1R expression promotes NK cell expansion and enhances its functional activation, thereby inhibiting AML cell proliferation. Collectively, these findings highlight the clinical potential of IGF1R in the effective treatment of AML through the activation of NK cell proliferation and function and suggest that it may represent a potential predictive marker of AML prognosis. Purpose: This is a retrospective, single-center PSM study evaluating the efficacy and safety of chidamide combined with the CHOEP (C-CHOEP) regimen versus the single CHOEP regimen in patients with untreated peripheral T cell lymphomas (PTCL). Patients: Patients newly diagnosed with PTCL between January 2015 and June 2021 were recruited, and were 1:1 divided into C-CHOEP and CHOEP groups according to their first-line chemotherapy regimens. The PSM method was used to match the baseline variables to balance the confounding factors. Results: A cohort of 33 patients each in the C-CHOEP and CHOEP groups was generated after propensity score-matching (PSM). The complete remission (CR) rates of the C-CHOEP regimen were higher than that of the CHOEP regimen (56.3 vs. 25.8%, p = 0.014), whereas the duration of response of the C-CHOEP group was shorter (median DOR 30 vs. 57 months), resulting in roughly similar progression-free survival (PFS) and (overall survival) OS between the two groups. The responding patients who received chidamide maintenance therapy showed a trend of superior PFS and OS compared with patients who did not receive maintenance therapy. Conclusions: The C-CHOEP regimen was well tolerated but failed to show advantages over the CHOEP regimen in patients with untreated PTCL; however, the chidamide maintenance may contribute to a more durable response and stable long-term survival. In elderly HL patients, BV monotherapy showed a CR rate of 73% with no notable liver injury, suggesting that BV could be safe for patients with comorbidities [[3]]. The electric-field modulation of magnetization switching is an energy-efficient method for the design of potential spintronic devices. In this study, a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ)/Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.7Ti0.3O3 (PMN-PT) magnetoelectric heterostructure with the memory configuration of the MTJ was constructed for electric-field control of magnetization switching through angular-dependent magnetotransport measurements. It was observed that the electric-field control of tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) depends on the direction of the applied magnetic field, and the corresponding tunability (T) of the TMR ratio will also change as the angle between the applied magnetic field and the x-axis changes. When a maximal electric field of 8.6 kV/cm is applied to the PMN-PT layer with a magnetic field (~50 Oe) along the major axis direction of the MTJ (i.e., PMN-PT [100]), the tunability Tmajor (the subscript refers to the major axis) is approximately +0.17‰. However, when a magnetic field (~50 Oe) is applied along the minor axis direction of the MTJ (i.e., PMN-PT [01-1]), the tunability Tminor is approximately −1.8‰. Furthermore, the tunability Tminor (the subscript refers to the minor axis) first increases with a positive sign and then decreases with a negative sign as the applied magnetic fields increase. It further increases negligibly as the magnitude of the applied magnetic field increases. The corresponding transitional region is in the range of approximately 15–40 Oe. It is conjectured that the competition among electric-field-induced magnetoelastic anisotropy, magnetic shape anisotropy, and Zeeman energy induced by the external magnetic field contributes to the magnetization switching of the free layer in the MTJ. This results in the aforementioned electric-field control of the TMR behavior. The findings from this study can help in understanding the mechanism of electric-field-induced magnetic switching in storage-mode MTJs through strain-mediated magnetoelectric coupling. The assessment of yielding rockbolt performance during rockbursts with actual seismic loading is essential for rockburst supporting designs. In this paper, two types of yielding rockbolts (D-bolt and Roofex) and the fully resin-grouted rebar bolt are modeled via the "rockbolt" element in universal distinct element code (UDEC) after an exact calibration procedure. A two-dimensional (2D) model of a deep tunnel is built to fully evaluate the performance (e.g., capacity of energy-absorption and control of rock damage) of yielding and traditional rockbolts based on the simulated rockbursts. The influence of different rockburst magnitudes is also studied. The results suggest that the D-bolt can effectively control and mitigate rockburst damage during a weak rockburst because of its high strength and deformation capacity. The Roofex is too "soft" or "smooth" to limit the movement of ejected rocks and restrain the large deformation, although it has an excellent deformation capacity. The resin-grouted rebar bolt can maintain a high axial force level during rockbursts but is easy to break during dynamic shocks, which fails to control rapid rock bulking or ejection. Three types of rockbolts cannot control the large deformation and mitigate rockburst damage effectively during violent rockbursts. The rockburst damage severity can be significantly reduced by additional support with cable bolts. This study highlights the effectiveness of numerical modeling methods in assessing the complex performance of yielding rockbolts during rockbursts, which can provide some references to improve and optimize the design of rock supporting in burst-prone grounds. The presence of reduced aminothiols, including homocysteine (Hcy), cysteine (Cys), cysteinyl-glycine (CG), and glutathione (GSH), is significantly increased in the pathological state. However, there have been no reports on the relationship between reduced aminothiols (Hcy, Cys, CG, and GSH) and different genders, ages, and drug combinations in human blood. The accurate quantification of these reduced thiols in biological fluids is important for monitoring some special pathological conditions of humans. However, the published methods typically not only require cumbersome and technically challenging processing procedures to ensure reliable measurements, but are also laborious and time-consuming, which may disturb the initial physiological balance and lead to inaccurate results. We developed a hollow fiber centrifugal ultrafiltration (HFCF-UF) method for sample preparation coupled with a high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) method and used it to determine four reduced aminothiols (Hcy, Cys, CG, and GSH) in human blood for the first time. A total of 96 clinical patients were enrolled in our study. The influence of different genders, ages, and drug combinations on the levels of four reduced thiols in human blood was also discussed by SPSS 24.0. The sample preparation was simplified to a single 5 min centrifugation step in a sealed system that did not disturb the physiological environment. The validation parameters for the methodological results were excellent. The procedure was successfully applied to monitoring the concentrations of four reduced aminothiols (Hcy, Cys, CG, and GSH) in 96 clinical blood samples. There were no significant differences in Hcy, Cys, CG, or GSH for the different genders, ages, or combinations with methotrexate or vancomycin (P > 0.05). However, there was a significant increase in Hcy concentration in patients treated with valproic acid who were diagnosed with epilepsy (p=0.0007). It is advisable to measure reduced Hcy level in patients taking valproic acid. The developed HFCF-UF method was simple and accurate. Dolphins use their biosonar to discriminate objects with different features through the returning echoes. Cross-modal matching experiments were conducted with a resident bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops aduncus). Four types of objects composed of different materials (water-filled PVC pipes, air-filled PVC pipes, foam ball arrays, and PVC pipes wrapped in closed-cell foam) were used in the experiments, respectively. The size and position of the objects remained the same in each case. The data collected in the experiment showed that the dolphin's matching accuracy was significantly different across the cases. To gain insight into the underlying mechanism in the experiments, we used finite element methods to construct two-dimensional target detection models of an echolocating dolphin in the vertical plane, based on computed tomography scan data. The acoustic processes of the click's interaction with the objects and the surrounding media in the four cases were simulated and compared. The simulation results provide some possible explanations for why the dolphin performed differently when discriminating the objects that only differed in material composition in the previous matching experiments. Extranodal natural killer/T cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKL) is a highly aggressive tumor with relatively poor prognosis. In this prospective study, we investigated the efficacy and toxicity of a novel GDP-ML regimen (combined gemcitabine, cisplatin, dexamethasone, methotrexate, and pegaspargase) as front-line treatment in newly diagnosed ENKL. Eligible newly diagnosed stage I/II ENKL patients received sandwich chemoradiation therapy. Patients with stage III/IV disease received an initial 4 cycles of GDP-ML regimen. After 4 cycles, responding patients continued to receive either autologous transplantation or additional two courses of GDP-ML. A total of 44 patients were enrolled with a median follow-up of 26 months. The overall response rate (ORR) were 78.6% for the whole cohort, 84.6% for stage I/II, and 66.7% for stage III/IV, and corresponding complete remission (CR) rates were 61.9%, 76.9%, and 33.3%. The 1- year and 2- year progression-free survival (PFS) rates were 69.3% and 62.9%, and 1- year and 2-year overall survival (OS) rates were 76.5% and 67.4%, respectively. Patients with stage I/II disease showed better 2-year OS rate compared with stage III/IV patients (88.1% vs. 33.2%, p < 0.001). Patients who achieved CR had significantly better 2-year OS rate compared with non-CR patients (90.8% vs. 24.5%, p < 0.001). The main adverse event was hematologic toxicity. Grade 3/4 neutropenia occurred in 59.1% of patients. These results indicate that GDP-ML is an effective and well-tolerated induction regimen with newly diagnosed ENKL patients. Carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) are the two major greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere that contribute to global warming. Vehicle emissions on expressways cannot be neglected in the megacity Shanghai because oil accounts for 41% of the total primary energy consumption, and the expressway network carries 60% of the total traffic volume. The spatial distributions of CO2 and CH4 concentrations were monitored in situ on the expressways and in road tunnels using a mobile vehicle. The average CO2 and CH4 concentrations were 472.88 ± 34.48 ppm and 2033 ± 54 ppb on the expressways and 1308.92 ± 767.48 ppm and 2182 ± 112 ppb in the road tunnels in Shanghai, respectively. The highest CO2 and CH4 concentrations appeared on the Yan'an Elevated Road and the North-South Elevated Road, respectively, while their lowest values both occurred on the Huaxia Elevated Road passing through the suburban area. The hotspots of CO2 and CH4 were not consistent, suggesting that they have different sources. Tunnels had a "push-pull effect" on GHGs, and the traffic-congested Yan'an East Road Tunnel showed a dramatically increasing trend of GHG concentration from the entrance to the exit. This traffic-congested tunnel could accumulate a very high concentration of GHGs as well as other pollutants, which could introduce unhealthy conditions for both drivers and passengers. Significant correlations between CO2 and CH4 mostly appeared on the expressways and in the tunnels in Shanghai, suggesting the influences of vehicle exhaust. ΔCH4/ΔCO2 (the slope of the linear regression between CH4 and CO2) and the CH4/CO2 ratio could be used as indicators of vehicle exhaust sources because it increases from sources (e.g., road tunnels) to the observatories in the urban area. As a main strategy of backfilling in mining operations, cemented rockfill (CRF) is extensively used because of its high strength and mine waste disposal convenience. The CRF strength has a direct bearing on ground support performance in backfill mining, which necessitates investigating CRF strength determination. This study employed a Gaussian process (GP) machine learning model to reflect the relationship between CRF compressive strength and material components as well as curing age. More than one thousand data from a public database were used to train the GP model with an automatic hyperparameter optimization. A series of laboratory tests prepared eight test samples for our predicting as well as the true values for model validation. The GP model achieved a predicting accuracy with the r2 value 0.90 and the MSE value 7.78 based on CRF true values we obtained in the laboratory. In addition, seven test samples' true values resided inside the 95% confidence interval of the GP prediction. We also constructed three other machine learning models to conduct the same work as the GP model did. The results showed that the GP model performed the best of four models, which demonstrated that the GP model was effective and robust in dealing with time series predicting task. The serious consequences of rockburst have forced researchers to investigate alternatives methods for prediction. A lot of researches about rockburst resided in the focus on burst liability which is identified as an inherent cause of the rockburst. Due to the complex and highly nonlinear relationship between the impact factors and rockburst liability, traditional evaluation approaches are hard to gain ideal results for burst liability evaluation. A lot of scholars have tried to use machine learning to evaluate burst liability, but the results have been inconsistent. This study compares two fundamental machine learning models: discriminative and generative, which are typified by a support vector machine and Gaussian process classifier respectively, based on a uniform training dataset. This study also indicated burst liability evaluation is an unequal cost multi-class classification task in terms of machine learning. In addition to a conventional performance metric, the receiver operating curve (ROC) is generalized to evaluate model performances for this kind of task. The results indicate that the discriminative approach is more suitable for burst liability evaluation problem considering a common problem in burst liability evaluation task which is the sample size is limited. To make backfilling body meet strength requirement, physical-chemical evaluation and proportioning tests were conducted on several backfilling materials. Jigging sands, #32.5 cement and fly ash were determined as backfilling aggregate, binding material and modified material, respectively. An optimized proportion of backfilling materials with a solid mass fraction of 78% and cement: fly ash: jigging sands mass ratio of 1:2:14, was suggested to Jiangan Pyrite Mine, China. The slurry made by optimized proportion produced obvious shear thinning phenomena, and was confirmed as paste-like slurry. To analyze its rheological characteristics, L-type pipeline test and Haake VT550 rotational viscometer test were conducted. Bingham and Casson fluid models were applied to several paste-like slurry samples to simulate flow and stress states; Casson fluid model was proved to have better simulation effect on paste-like slurry with shear thinning phenomena; rheological parameters of backfilling slurry made by suggested proportion were measured. Initial yield stress, average apparent viscosity and limiting viscosity are 55.35 Pa, 1.216 Pa·s and 0.48 Pa·s, respectively. Compared with Bingham fluid model, Casson fluid model has a better simulation effect on paste-like slurry with shear thinning phenomena, through calculating the residual standard deviations. This study was undertaken the use of course and moderate spatial resolution remote sensing data to assess the forest degradation in the Peninsular Malaysia. Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) imagery was used as coarse spatial resolution data, while Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM) imagery was used as moderate spatial resolution to compare the accuracy. Geometric and radiometric correction and re-sampling were performed in pre-processing to enhance the analysis and results. Canopy fractional cover was used as an approach to assess the forest degradation in this study. Then, an optimum vegetation index was selected to apply on canopy fractional cover to enhance the detection of forest canopy damage. At the same time, accuracy assessment for the approach was referred to the location of Neobalanocarpus Heimii and correlate with global evapotranspiration rate. The forest degradation analysis was also applied and compared for all of the states in the Peninsular Malaysia. In conclusion, Landsat ETM imagery obtained higher accuracy compare to MODIS using canopy fractional cover approach for forest degradation assessment, and can be more broadly applicable to use for forest degradation investigation. Nanoscale ionic materials(NIMS) based on carbon black(CB) were prepared through a facile method. Firstly, CB was oxidized in the mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid, resulting in a large amounts of -COOH on surface of CB. Then oxidized CB was grafted by polyetheramine through neutralization reaction between -COOH of CB and -NH-of polyetheramine, and CB derivatives were obtained. This surface-functionalized CB can behave as liquid at ambient temperature in the absence of solvent by carefully varying the components. FTIR and thermaogravimetric analysis confirmed that the successively grafting of polyetheramine. TEM revealed the monodisperse core-shell structure of CB derivatives particles. The viscoelasticity of CB derivatives were closely related to the molecular weight and loading of polyetheramine. The unique core-shell and ionic structure and flowability of these CB derivatives could guide our future work on obtaining NIMs with tunable and controllable properties and broaden its commercial applications. Increasing number of older patients are admitted to hospital with hip fractures. This review evaluates the common medical problems that arise as a consequence of having a hip fracture. Older patients with fractures commonly have co-morbidities that require evaluation prior to and after surgery. Joint acute orthopaedic-geriatric units have been established to provide comprehensive orthopaedic and medical care with some studies showing a reduction in postoperative complications and mortality. Recommendations surrounding the care of the older orthopaedic patient include early surgical fixation, the use of prophylactic antibiotics and thromboembolic prophylaxis, good perioperative pain control to improve ambulation, delirium detection and management to decrease the risk complications, such as institutionalisation, the avoidance of malnutrition, urinary tract management, osteoporosis management and the promotion of early mobilisation to improve functional recovery. Physicians are well placed to manage these patients with orthopaedic surgeons during the perioperative period. In four seasons of 1982 measurements of atmospheric water vapor profiles and total precipitable water were made by a ground-based microwave radiometer operating at 1.35 cm wavelength. All data were processed by using Monte Carlo method. The statistical results of more than seventy cases show that the relative error compared to the radiosonde observations is 5.3% for the total precipitable water vapor and less than 20% for humidity profiles in the lower atmosphere below 750 mb.
