Studies investigating the relationship between dietary vitamin B1 intake and risk of Hyperuricemia (HU) are scarce, the present study aimed to examine the association of dietary vitamin B1 intake and HU among adults. This cross-sectional study included 5750 adults whose data derived from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from March 2017 to March 2020. The dietary intake of vitamin B1 was assessed using 24-h dietary recall interviews. The characteristics of study participants were grouped into five levels according to the levels of vitamin B1 quintile. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to estimate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) of HU, according to the vitamin B1 intake quintile for male and female separately. The dose–response relationship was determined by the restricted cubic spline (RCS). Smoothed curve fitting was used to assess serum uric acid concentration versus dietary vitamin B1 intake in the study population. The prevalence of hyperuricemia was 18.90% (20.15% and 17.79% for males and females, respectively) in the United States from March 2017 to March 2020. Multiple logistic regression analyses showed that in the male population, the HU ratio (OR) of vitamin B1 intake in Q2 to Q5 compared with the lowest quintile (Q1) was 0.75 (95% CI 0.52, 1.09), 0.70 (95% CI 0.48, 1.02), 0.66 (95% CI 0.44, 0.99) and 0.55 (95% CI 0.34, 0.90). The P for trend was 0.028. In women, the ORs for vitamin B1 intake Q2 to Q5 were 0.87 (95% CI 0.64, 1.19), 0.97 (0.68–1.38), 1.05 (0.69–1.60) and 0.75 (0.42–1.34), respectively. The P for trend was 0.876. The RCS curve revealed a linear relationship between vitamin B1 intake and the risk of hyperuricemia in men (P nonlinear = 0.401). Smoothed curve fitting demonstrated a negative association between vitamin B1 intake and serum uric acid concentration in men, whereas there was no significant association between dietary vitamin B1 intake and the risk of hyperuricemia in women. Cervical cancer, CC, is one of the malignant cancers in women worldwide. Many studies about the genesis and progression of CC have been done at genomic, transcriptional, translational, and epigenetic levels. However, much less is done at post-translational modification (PTM) level. We first used pan-PTM antibodies to compare the pan PTM levels between clinical normal cervical tissues and CC tissues; we then sent the selected samples for label-free identification of acetylation sites. Next, we employed WT or K119A mutant PARP1-EGFP-STREPII plasmid transfection in Hela cells and examined various indexes including colony formation, wound healing, ROS generation, early apoptosis, and immunofluorescence and quantification of proliferation markers (Ki67, PCNA, and p-P53). Last, we examined the levels of multiple important kinases regulating cervical cancer progression. We found that pan-acetylation was the most downregulated in clinical CC samples, whereas the acetylation of PARP1, Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1, was upregulated at K119. Next, we showed that PARP1-WT overexpression significantly suppressed the proliferation and progression in CC cell line Hela, while K119A overexpression didn't show any impact. Finally, PARP1-WT overexpression significantly decreased p-ERK1/2 while didn't affect the phosphorylation levels of other important kinases such as AKT, MTOR, and RPS6. This study discovered a new type of PTM of PARP1 in CC, and showed that PARP1 acetylation at K119 is essential in regulating the proliferation and progression of CC through ERK1/2. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Chinese medicine (CM) in the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in China. Methods: A multi-center retrospective cohort study was carried out, with cumulative CM treatment period of ⩾3 days during hospitalization as exposure. Data came from consecutive inpatients from December 19, 2019 to May 16, 2020 in 4 medical centers in Wuhan, China. After data extraction, verification and cleaning, confounding factors were adjusted by inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW), and the Cox proportional hazards regression model was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 2,272 COVID-19 patients were included. There were 1,684 patients in the CM group and 588 patients in the control group. Compared with the control group, the hazard ratio (HR) for the deterioration rate in the CM group was 0.52 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.41 to 0.64, P<0.001]. The results were consistent across patients of varying severity at admission, and the robustness of the results were confirmed by 3 sensitivity analyses. In addition, the HR for all-cause mortality in the CM group was 0.29 (95% CI: 0.19 to 0.44, P<0.001). Regarding of safety, the proportion of patients with abnormal liver function or renal function in the CM group was smaller. Conclusion: This real-world study indicates that the combination of a full-course CM therapy on the basic conventional treatment, may safely reduce the deterioration rate and all-cause mortality of COVID-19 patients. This result can provide the new evidence to support the current treatment of COVID-19. Bird sex chromosomes play a unique role in sex-determination, and affect the sexual morphology and behavior of bird species. Core waterbirds, a major clade of birds, share the common characteristics of being sexually monomorphic and having lower levels of inter-sexual conflict, yet their sex chromosome evolution remains poorly understood. Here, by we analyse of a chromosome-level assembly of a female crested ibis (Nipponia nippon), a typical core waterbird. We identify neo-sex chromosomes resulting from fusion of microchromosomes with ancient sex chromosomes. These fusion events likely occurred following the divergence of Threskiornithidae and Ardeidae. The neo-W chromosome of the crested ibis exhibits the characteristics of slow degradation, which is reflected in its retention of abundant gametologous genes. Neo-W chromosome genes display an apparent ovary-biased gene expression, which is largely driven by genes that are retained on the crested ibis W chromosome but lost in other bird species. These results provide new insights into the evolutionary history and expression patterns for the sex chromosomes of bird species. The evolutionary trajectory of avian sex chromosomes may be more intricate than previously understood. Intercropping is a prevalent soil management strategy within orchards, whereas it is unclear how inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and intercropping affect tree growth, soil properties, and rhizosphere metabolite profiles. This study investigated the effects of inoculation with Diversispora spurca and intercropping with hairy vetch (Vicia villosa) on biomass production, soil available nutrients, water-stable aggregate (WSA) distribution, phosphatase activity, and secondary metabolite profiles in walnuts (Juglans regia). The intercropping only elevated soil nitrate N levels and WSA distribution at the 0.5–2 mm size, and also triggered 2159 differential metabolites (1378 up-regulated and 781 down-regulated), with armillaramide as the most prominently up-regulated metabolite, followed by the substance diminished upon D. spurca inoculation. Conversely, D. spurca inoculation increased walnut biomass, WSA distribution across the 0.25 − 2 mm size, and acid and neutral phosphatase activities, as well as triggered 2489 differential metabolites (897 up-regulated and 1592 down-regulated), with pteroside D being highest up-regulated differential metabolite, allowing a competitive advantage to AM plants in combating soil pathogens. Despite significantly suppressing root AM fungal colonization and biomass production in AM walnuts, intercropping significantly increased soil ammonium and nitrate N levels in AM walnuts as well as WSAs at the 1–4 mm size, exhibiting a synergistic effect. Flavone and flavonol biosynthesis and pyruvate metabolism were simultaneously involved following AM inoculation or intercropping. Co-application of AM inoculation and intercropping triggered 1006 differential metabolites, with urocanic acid being the most up-regulated metabolite, although it decreased following AM inoculation, suggesting the involvement of mycorrhizal hyphae in soil histidine uptake. Under intercropping, AM inoculation elicited 418 differential metabolites, with the most up-regulated metabolite being implicated in flavonoid pathways. AM inoculation primarily triggered the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, regardless of intercropping or not, implying a potential increase in unsaturated fatty acid contents of walnut kernels. Quantum error mitigation (QEM) is vital for improving quantum algorithms' accuracy on noisy near-term devices. A typical QEM method, called Virtual Distillation (VD), can suffer from imperfect implementation, potentially leading to worse outcomes than without mitigation. To address this, we introduce Circuit-Noise-Resilient Virtual Distillation (CNR-VD), which includes a calibration process using simple input states to enhance VD's performance despite circuit noise, aiming to recover the results of an ideally conducted VD circuit. Simulations show that CNR-VD significantly mitigates noise-induced errors in VD circuits, boosting accuracy by up to tenfold over standard VD. It provides positive error mitigation even under high noise, where standard VD fails. Furthermore, our estimator's versatility extends its utility beyond VD, enhancing outcomes in general Hadamard-Test circuits. The proposed CNR-VD significantly enhances the noise-resilience of VD, and thus is anticipated to elevate the performance of quantum algorithm implementations on near-term quantum devices. This study focuses on reducing noise in the circuit used in the quantum error mitigation method called Virtual Distillation (VD). Background: Arterial embolism is a rare complication caused by hyaluronic acid (HA) injection. However, it is one of the most serious complications. Once it happens, the complication would have a great and long-term impact on patients. Intra-arterial recanalization has been reported for recovering the visual acuity in patients with visual loss caused by hyaluronic acid. There is little report about the benefits of superselective intra-arterial recanalization therapy for skin wounds caused by hyaluronic acid vascular embolization. Methods: Eight patients who had received the superselective intra-arterial recanalization therapy were retrospectively reviewed. Hyaluronidase was injected into the facial artery by superselective intra-arterial recanalization therapy, followed by symptomatic treatment. The facial artery recanalization was successfully performed and no interventional procedure-related adverse events happened. Results: Arterial embolization accompanies by the interruption or reduction of blood supply, followed by ochrodermia, pain, numbness, swelling, yellowish white secreta and even necrosis on skin wound area. Early detection of skin blood supply disorders and early recovery of blood supply are very critical to treat facial artery embolization caused by HA. After superselective intra-arterial recanalization therapy, the blood supply to facial skin was restored and skin wounds recovered in all patients. Only 1 patient was left with small and superficial scars. Conclusion: Superselective intra-arterial recanalization therapy is an effective and safe method that can alleviate skin wounds caused by HA vascular embolization. Objectives: This study aims to investigate the changes in alveolar bone following the simultaneous performance of labial and lingual augmented corticotomy (LLAC) in patients with insufficient alveolar bone thickness on both the labial and lingual sides of the mandibular anterior teeth during presurgical orthodontic treatment. Materials and methods: Thirth-five surgical patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion were included: 19 (LLAC group) accepted LLAC surgery during presurgical orthodontic treatment, and 16 (non-surgery group, NS) accepted traditional presurgical orthodontic treatment. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were obtained before treatment (T0) and at the completion of presurgical orthodontic treatment (T1). The amount of vertical alveolar bone and contour area of the alveolar bone in the labial and lingual sides of mandibular incisors were measured. Results: After presurgical orthodontic treatment, the contour area of the alveolar bone at each level on the lingual side and alveolar bone level on both sides decreased significantly in the NS group (P < 0.001). However, the labial and lingual bone contour area at each level and bone level increased significantly in the LLAC group (P < 0.001). The bone formation rate in the lingual apical region was the highest, significantly different from other sites (P < 0.001). Conclusions: During presurgical orthodontic treatment, LLAC can significantly increase the contour area of the labio-lingual alveolar bone in the mandibular anterior teeth to facilitate safe and effective orthodontic decompensation in skeletal Class III patients. Background: Aesthetic injections have become increasingly popular for maintaining a youthful appearance. However, with the rise of SARS-CoV-2, there have been concerns about potential complications. This study aims to summarize and understand the complications that occur in individuals who have received cosmetic injections after SARS-CoV-2 infection or vaccination. By doing so, we hope to provide recommendations to minimize these complications and ensure the safety of aesthetic treatments in the current COVID-19 era. Methods: The PRISMA guidelines, the Preferred Reporting Program for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, were used for this review. Databases including PubMed, EMBASE, Medline, Web of Science and ScienceDirect were searched. The last search time of each database was May 10, 2023. In addition, relevant references were manually searched. Results: A total of 26 studies containing 139 patients were searched. The complication with the highest percentage of reported patients was delayed inflammatory response (DIR) (n = 68; 48.92%), followed by diminished efficacy (n = 45; 32.37%) and filler reaction (n = 12; 8.63%). The remaining complications include hypersensitivity reactions, symptomatic hypercalcemia, sub-acute hypersensitive reactions, hyperalgesia, infection, fat necrosis and granulomatous reaction. Conclusions: Cosmetic injectable procedures are generally safe but may have adverse effects, particularly during the pandemic. It is important for individuals to fully understand these risks beforehand. Clinicians should be knowledgeable about adverse event mechanisms and management to prevent issues. Industry leaders should strengthen risk management efforts to ensure safe and steady development of cosmetic injections. Overall, a comprehensive understanding, effective communication and risk management are crucial for the safe use of cosmetic injectable procedures. Polyelectrolyte brushes (PEBs) are commonly used to modify surface that have attracted great research interest. The dielectric permittivity of the grafted surface is typically significantly different from that of solution, which results in surface polarization (SP) effect with a jump of electric field. It is thus important to study how SP alters the PEB's structure and properties. In this work, the SP effects on PEB structure was studied using a statistical thermodynamic theory. The free energy functional to describe SP effect was constructed by using the image-charge method. Meanwhile, the electrostatic potential was solved from a modified Poisson-Boltzmann equation taking the ion solvation effect into consideration. In the absence of SP, the thickness of PEB exhibited a continuous collapse transition when decreasing the solvent quality. In the presence of SP, the collapse became a jump-like transition. Free energy analysis showed that the long-range Coulombic interaction dominated the transition because of the enhanced counterion condensation in the presence of SP. The theory provides an effective tool to study SP effect on PEBs, and the results explain the underlying physics in PEB collapse transition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The combination of Sorafenib and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) exhibits limited efficacy in the treatment of certain advanced hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC), and the molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to this combination remain unclear. Objective: This study aims to underscore the distinctive contribution of GeoMx DSP technology in elucidating the molecular intricacies of HCC resistance to the Sorafenib and TACE combination. Methods: Patients with advanced HCC during the waiting period before liver transplantation were classified into sensitive and resistant groups based on their response to Sorafenib and TACE combination therapy. Employing GeoMx DSP technology for comprehensive gene expression profiling, we identified pivotal molecular targets linked to resistance against combination therapy. Results: The investigation scrutinized intra-tumoral and inter-individual variances, unveiling a spectrum of crucial molecular targets, such as PLG, PLVAP, immunoglobulin genes, ORM1, and NR4A1, among others. Additionally, we explored signaling pathways associated with treatment responsiveness, including the PPAR signaling pathway. Notably, we emphasized the significance of the immune microenvironment characterized by heightened SPP1 expression in HCC resistance to combination therapy. In the resistant group, SPP1+ tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) infiltration was notably pronounced (p = 0.037), while T-cell depletion showed a mitigated presence (p = 0.013). Conclusion: The study reveals intra- and inter-individual heterogeneity in HCC that is differentially responsive to the combination of Sorafenib and TACE, highlighting multiple key molecular targets associated with treatment resistance. The immune microenvironment is important, and in particular, SPP1+ TAM infiltration may play a key role. Background: Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is widely used to screen patients with hepatic diseases. However, the current reference ranges (< 50 U/L) were developed by laboratories and have not been validated in populations with a large number of healthy individuals. Methods: This study collected venous blood and anthropometric data from a total of 13,287 healthy children aged 3 months to 18 years who underwent routine physical examinations in the Department of Pediatric Healthcare. We applied the least mean square algorithm to establish age- and sex-related reference percentiles of serum levels of transaminases. For validation, we recruited 4276 children and adolescents with obesity/overweight who underwent evaluation and metabolic tests in the hospital. Using receiver operating characteristic curves, we determined age- and sex-specific upper limit percentiles of liver enzymes for fatty liver diseases. Results: This study revealed a significant correlation between serum transaminase levels and age and sex (P < 0.01). These transaminase levels exhibited age- and sex-specific patterns. Among individuals in the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) cohort, elevated ALT levels displayed a positive association with clinical markers of disease severity, including homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance, waist–hip ratio, and serum uric acid levels (P < 0.01). According to the receiver operating characteristic curves, ALT levels at the 92.58th percentile for boys and the 92.07th percentile for girls yielded the highest accuracy and specificity. Conclusions: This study provides age- and sex-specific reference ranges for ALT, aspartate aminotransferase, and γ-glutamyltransferase in Chinese children and adolescents, making it the largest population study to date. Background: There are serious complications associated with hyaluronic acid (HA) facial injections, including vision impairment due to retinal artery ischemia. In this study, we put forth a clinically relevant model of retinal ischemia and reperfusion in rabbit. We used this to verify the efficacy of hyaluronidase intra-artery thrombolysis in the treatment of hyaluronic acid-induced retinal artery occlusion. Methods: Retinal artery ischemia was induced by injecting HA into the ophthalmic artery (OA) of adult chinchilla rabbit, and reperfusion was achieved by intra-artery thrombolysis therapy with hyaluronidase following 60 min and 4 h of occlusion. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) were used to evaluate blood flow in the retina. Electroretinogram (ERG), hematoxylin and eosin staining and transmission electron microscope were used to evaluate the structure and function of the retina after ischemia and reperfusion following 60 min and 4 h of occlusion. Results: DSA and FFA images confirmed occlusion of the ophthalmic and central retinal arteries, as well as reperfusion after hyaluronidase thrombolysis. ERG indicated retinal dysfunction following ischemia, and thrombolysis partially rescued its impairment following 4 h of occlusion. Hematoxylin and eosin staining and TUNEL staining revealed ischemia-induced histological damages in the retina at different time windows, and hyaluronidase thrombolysis partially mitigated these damages. Conclusions: We report a method to establish a HA-induced retinal artery occlusion animal model. Hyaluronidase intra-artery thrombolysis was used to recanalize the embolized OA at different time points. Using our method, we achieved retinal reperfusion, and an improvement was observed in the visual function of rabbits after hyaluronidase thrombolysis following 4 h of occlusion. We believe that hyaluronidase intra-artery thrombolysis is an effective method to treat HA-induced retinal artery occlusion in clinic. Chemical warfare agents represent a severe threat to mankind and their efficient decontamination is a global necessity. However, traditional disposal strategies have limitations, including high energy consumption, use of aggressive reagents and generation of toxic byproducts. Here, inspired by the compartmentalized architecture and detoxification mechanism of bacterial micro-compartments, we constructed oil-in-water Pickering emulsion droplets stabilized by hydrogen-bonded organic framework immobilized cascade enzymes for decontaminating mustard gas simulant (2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide, CEES) under sweet conditions. Two exemplified droplet systems were developed with two-enzyme (glucose oxidase/chloroperoxidase) and three-enzyme (invertase/glucose oxidase/chloroperoxidase) cascades, both achieving over 6-fold enhancement in decontamination efficiency compared with free enzymes and >99% selectivity towards non-toxic sulfoxide. We found that the favored mass transfer of sugars and CEES from their respective phases to approach the cascade enzymes located at the droplet surface and the facilitated substrate channeling between proximally immobilized enzymes were key factors in augmenting the decontamination efficacy. More importantly, the robustness of immobilized enzymes enabled easy reproduction of both the droplet formation and detoxification performance over 10 cycles, following long-term storage and in far-field locations. Introduction: Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is an eosinophil-associated disease (EAD) characterized by inflammation in small- to medium-sized blood vessels. In the REal-world inVestigation of Eosinophilic-Associated disease overLap (REVEAL) study, overlap among 11 EADs was assessed. In the present sub-study, we evaluated EGPA overlap with other EADs, all-cause EAD- and EGPA-related healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and costs, and their relationship with blood eosinophil count and treatments received. Methods: REVEAL, a retrospective study, used Optum's de-identified Clinformatics® Data Mart Database. In this sub-study, eligibility criteria included an age of ≥ 12 years, ≥ 1 EAD, continuous health-plan eligibility, and compliance with the EGPA/GPA case definition per International Classification of Diseases Ninth/Tenth Revision diagnostic codes between 1 January 2015 and 30 June 2018. Patients were grouped based on whether they had received immunomodulators/cyclophosphamide/mepolizumab (ICM) or not (non-ICM). Results: Of 701 patients with EGPA, 29.5% were in the ICM group. Overall, 72.2% had ≥ 1 overlapping EAD. The number of overlaps was similar for the ICM and non-ICM groups. In patients with blood eosinophil counts ≥ 300 cells/µL, 22.8% had ≥ 1 overlapping EAD. The mean annual all-cause cost was $98,644, 54.1% of which was from outpatients and 33.6% from inpatients. The mean annual EAD- and EGPA-related costs were $23,820 and $9,306, respectively. Patients in the non-ICM group versus the ICM group had higher all-cause ($101,560 vs $91,684) but lower EAD-related ($22,733 vs $26,412) and EGPA-related ($6,171 vs $16,786) costs. All-cause HCRU and costs increased with increasing overlap. Conclusions: EGPA was associated with substantial HCRU and costs, driven by outpatient and inpatient settings. More overlapping EADs were associated with higher HCRU and costs, highlighting the need for treatment to reduce healthcare expenditure in these patients. Infographic available for this article. To evaluate the prognostic value of venous outflow (VO) profiles evaluated on multiphase CTA (mCTA) for the patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). We retrospectively collected 150 patients with AIS who underwent pre-treatment CT perfusion (CTP) evaluation and subsequent EVT from April 2018 to April 2022. Three-phases (peak arterial phase, peak venous phase, late venous phase) CTA was reconstructed from CTP raw data, and VO was evaluated on three-phases CTA, respectively. Favorable VO was regarded as a cortical vein opacification score of 3–6, and unfavorable VO as a score of 0–2. Good outcome was defined as modified Rankin Scale score of 0–2 at 90 days after EVT. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the predictors of good outcome. Prognostic value was assessed and compared using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and Delong test. We found that good outcome was achieved in 85 (56.7%) patients. Among the mCTA-derived VO profiles, only favorable peak venous phase VO was found to be independently associated with good outcome (P < 0.001). After integrating favorable peak venous phase VO with lower post-treatment National Institute of Health Stroke Scale score at 24 hours, successful recanalization and favorable hypoperfusion intensity ratio, the predictive ability for a good outcome was significantly improved than before (area under the ROC curve; 0.947 vs 0.881; P = 0.002). Superconductivity in a highly correlated kagome system has been theoretically proposed for years (refs. 1–5), yet the experimental realization is hard to achieve6,7. The recently discovered vanadium-based kagome materials8, which exhibit both superconductivity9–11 and charge-density-wave orders12–14, are nonmagnetic8,9 and weakly correlated15,16. Thus these materials are unlikely to host the exotic superconductivity theoretically proposed. Here we report the discovery of a chromium-based kagome metal, CsCr3Sb5, which is contrastingly featured with strong electron correlations, frustrated magnetism and characteristic flat bands close to the Fermi level. Under ambient pressure, this kagome metal undergoes a concurrent structural and magnetic phase transition at 55 K, with a stripe-like 4a0 structural modulation. At high pressure, the phase transition evolves into two transitions, possibly associated with charge-density-wave and antiferromagnetic spin-density-wave orderings. These density-wave-like orders are gradually suppressed with pressure and, remarkably, a superconducting dome emerges at 3.65–8.0 GPa. The maximum of the superconducting transition temperature, Tcmax = 6.4 K, appears when the density-wave-like orders are completely suppressed at 4.2 GPa, and the normal state exhibits a non-Fermi-liquid behaviour, reminiscent of unconventional superconductivity and quantum criticality in iron-based superconductors17,18. The Dahongshan Group, situated at the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block, represents a geological unit characterized by relatively high-grade metamorphism in the region. This paper investigates the garnet-biotite schist from the Laochanghe Formation of the Dahongshan Group, employing an integrated approach that includes petrological analysis, phase equilibrium modeling, and zircon U–Pb dating. The schist is mainly composed of garnet, biotite, plagioclase, quartz, rutile, and ilmenite. Phase equilibrium modeling revealed the peak metamorphic conditions of 8–9 kbar and 635–675 °C. By further integrating the prograde metamorphic profile of garnet and geothermobarometric results, a clockwise P–T metamorphic evolution path is constructed, which includes an increase in temperature and pressure during the prograde stage. LA–ICP–MS zircon U–Pb dating and zircon Ti thermometry constrains the post-peak metamorphic age of 831.2 ± 7.2 Ma. Integrated with previously reported results, it is revealed that the southwestern margin of the Yangtze Block experienced a large-scale regional metamorphism during the Neoproterozoic (890–750 Ma), which is related to the collisional orogenic process. This may be associated with the late-stage assembly of the Rodinia supercontinent or with local compression and subduction processes during the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. Background: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), a primary hepatobiliary malignancy, is characterized by a poor prognosis and a lack of effective treatments. Therefore, the need to explore novel therapeutic approaches is urgent. While the role of Peptidylprolyl Cis/Trans Isomerase, NIMA-Interacting 1 (PIN1) has been extensively studied in various tumor types, its involvement in CCA remains poorly understood. Methods: In this study, we employed tissue microarray (TMA), reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to assess the expression of PIN1. Through in vitro and in vivo functional experiments, we investigated the impact of PIN1 on the adhesion and metastasis of CCA. Additionally, we explored downstream molecular pathways using RNA-seq, western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and mass spectrometry techniques. Results: Our findings revealed a negative correlation between PIN1 overexpression and prognosis in CCA tissues. Furthermore, high PIN1 expression promoted CCA cell proliferation and migration. Mechanistically, PIN1 functioned as an oncogene by regulating ANXA2 phosphorylation, thereby promoting CCA adhesion. Notably, the interaction between PIN1 and ANXA2 was facilitated by RACK1. Importantly, pharmacological inhibition of PIN1 using the FDA-approved drug all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) effectively suppressed the metastatic potential of CCA cells in a nude mouse lung metastasis model. Conclusion: Overall, our study emphasizes the critical role of the PIN1/RACK1/ANXA2 complex in CCA growth and functionality, highlighting the potential of targeting PIN1 as a promising therapeutic strategy for CCA. Objectives: To evaluate the combined performance of orbital MRI and intracranial visual pathway diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in diagnosing dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON). Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 61 thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) patients, including 25 with DON (40 eyes) and 36 without DON (72 eyes). Orbital MRI–based apical muscle index (MI), diameter index (DI) of the optic nerve (ON), area index (AI) of the ON, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and signal intensity ratio (SIR) of the ON, DKI-based kurtosis fractional anisotropy (KFA) and mean kurtosis (MK) of the optic tract (OT), optic radiation (OR), and Brodmann areas (BAs) 17, 18, and 19 were measured and compared between groups. The diagnostic performances of models were evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curve analyses and compared using the DeLong test. Results: TAO patients with DON had significantly higher apical MI, apical AI, and SIR of the ON, but significantly lower ADC of the ON than those without DON (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the DON group exhibited significantly lower KFA across the OT, OR, BA17, BA18, and BA19 and lower MK at the OT and OR than the non-DON group (p < 0.05). The model integrating orbital MRI and intracranial visual pathway DKI parameters performed the best in diagnosing DON (AUC = 0.926), with optimal diagnostic sensitivity (80%) and specificity (94.4%), followed by orbital MRI combination (AUC = 0.890), and then intracranial visual pathway DKI combination (AUC = 0.832). Conclusion: Orbital MRI and intracranial visual pathway DKI can both assist in diagnosing DON. Combining orbital and intracranial imaging parameters could further optimize diagnostic efficiency. Aggregate-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) have been widely used in biological imaging, chemical sensing, and disease treatments. The rational design and construction of AIEgens have received considerable research interests during the last few years. Herein, molecular docking-aided AIEgen design has been reasonably proposed and AIEgen TBQZY with excellent 1O2 generation ability has been synthesized. The newly developed TBQZY could efficiently kill S. epidermidis and methicillin-resistant S. epidermidis (MRSE) by tightly binding to bacteria and triggering the accumulation of 1O2 in bacteria. TBQZY specifically regulated the immune system and polarized macrophages from M1 to M2 to accelerate the elimination of biofilm in vivo. In addition, healing acceleration was observed in chronic wounds treated with TBQZY, and side effects were negligible. Meanwhile, TBQZY had extraordinary potential for combating drug-resistant bacteria in the clinical setting. Actin filament assembly and the regulation of its mechanical properties are fundamental processes essential for eukaryotic cell function. Residue E167 in vertebrate actins forms an inter-subunit salt bridge with residue K61 of the adjacent subunit. Saccharomyces cerevisiae actin filaments are more flexible than vertebrate filaments and have an alanine at this position (A167). Substitution of this alanine for a glutamic acid (A167E) confers Saccharomyces cerevisiae actin filaments with salt-dependent stiffness similar to vertebrate actins. We developed an optimized cryogenic electron microscopy workflow refining sample preparation and vitrification to obtain near-atomic resolution structures of wild-type and A167E mutant Saccharomyces cerevisiae actin filaments. The difference between these structures allowed us to pinpoint the potential binding site of a filament-associated cation that controls the stiffness of the filaments in vertebrate and A167E Saccharomyces cerevisiae actins. Through an analysis of previously published high-resolution reconstructions of vertebrate actin filaments, along with a newly determined high-resolution vertebrate actin structure in the absence of potassium, we identified a unique peak near residue 167 consistent with the binding of a magnesium ion. Our findings show how magnesium can contribute to filament stiffening by directly bridging actin subunits and allosterically affecting the orientation of the DNase-I binding loop of actin, which plays a regulatory role in modulating actin filament stiffness and interactions with regulatory proteins. Background: Lung cancer is a common cause of brain metastases, approximately 40% of patients with lung cancer will develop brain metastases at some point during their disease. Hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (HSRT) has been demonstrated to be effective in controlling limited brain metastases. However, there is still no conclusive on the optimal segmentation of HSRT. The aim of our study was to explore the correlation between the HSRT dosage and its treatment effect and toxicity. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) brain metastasis at Hangzhou Cancer Hospital from 1 January 2019 to 1 January 2021. The number of brain metastases did not exceed 10 in all patients and the number of fractions of HSRT was 5. The prescription dose ranges from 25 to 40 Gy. The Kaplan–Meier method was used for estimation of the localised intracranial control rate (iLC). Adverse radiation effects (AREs) were evaluated according to CTCAE 5.0. This study was approved by the Institutional Ethics Review Board of the Hangzhou Cancer Hospital (#73/HZCH-2022). Results: Forty eligible patients with a total of 70 brain metastases were included in this study. The 1-year iLC was 76% and 89% in the prescribed dose ≤ 30 Gy and > 30 Gy group, respectively (P < 0.05). For patients treated with HSRT combined with targeted therapy, immunotherapy and chemotherapy, the 1-year iLC was 89%, 100%, and 45%, respectively. No significant associations were observed between the number, maximum diameter, location, and type of pathology of brain metastases. The rate of all-grade AREs was 33%. Two patients who received a total dose of 40 Gy developed grade 3 headache, the rest of the AREs were grade 1–2. Conclusions: Increasing the prescription dose of HSRT improves treatment effect but may also exacerbate the side effects. Hepatic ischemia–reperfusion injury (HIRI) is a critical pathophysiological process during liver transplantation (LT). Multiple genes and signal pathways are dysregulated during HIRI. This study aims to identify genes as potential therapeutic targets for ameliorating HIRI. Datasets containing samples from the human donor liver (GSE151648) and mouse HIRI model (GSE117066) were analyzed to determine differentially expressed genes (DEGs). The selected DEGs were confirmed by real-time PCR and western blot in the hepatocyte hypoxia-reoxygenation (HR) model, mouse HIRI model, and human liver samples after transplantation. Genetic inhibition was used to further clarify the underlying mechanism of the gene in vitro and in vivo. Among the DEGs, CSRNP1 was significantly upregulated (|log FC|= 2.08, P < 0.001), and was positively correlated with the MAPK signal pathway (R = 0.67, P < 0.001). CSRNP1 inhibition by siRNA significantly suppressed apoptosis in the AML-12 cell line after HR (mean Annexin+ ratio = 60.62% vs 42.47%, P = 0.0019), but the protective effect was eliminated with an additional MAPK activator. Knocking down CSRNP1 gene expression by intravenous injection of AAV-shRNA markedly reduced liver injury in mouse HIRI model (ALT: AAV-NC vs AAV-shCsrnp1 = 26,673.5 ± 2761.2 vs 3839.7 ± 1432.8, P < 0.001; AST: AAV-NC vs AAV-shCsrnp1 = 8640.5 ± 1450.3 vs 1786.8 ± 518.3, P < 0.001). Liver-targeted delivery of siRNA by nanoparticles effectively inhibited intra-hepatic genetic expression of Csrnp1 and alleviated IRI by reducing tissue inflammation and hepatocyte apoptosis. Furthermore, CSRNP1 inhibition was associated with reduced activation of the MAPK pathway both in vitro and in vivo. Objective: To investigate the value of Dixon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based quantitative parameters of extraocular muscles (EOMs), intraorbital fat (IF), and lacrimal glands (LGs) in staging patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). Methods: Two hundred patients with TAO (211 active and 189 inactive eyes) who underwent Dixon MRI for pretreatment evaluation were retrospectively enrolled and divided into training (169 active and 151 inactive eyes) and validation (42 active and 38 inactive eyes) cohorts. The maximum, mean, and minimum values of the signal intensity ratio (SIR), fat fraction (FF), and water fraction (WF) of EOMs, IF, and LGs were measured and compared between the active and inactive groups in the training cohort. Binary logistic regression analysis, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, and the Delong test were used for further statistical analyses, as appropriate. Results: Compared with inactive TAOs, active TAOs demonstrated significantly greater EOM-SIRmax, EOM-SIRmean, EOM-SIRmin, IF-SIRmax, IF-SIRmean, LG-SIRmax, LG-SIRmean, EOM-WFmean, EOM-WFmin, IF-WFmax, IF-WFmean, and LG-WFmean and lower EOM-FFmax, EOM-FFmean, IF-FFmean, IF-FFmin, and LG-FFmean values (all p < 0.05). The EOM-SIRmean, LG-SIRmean, and LG-FFmean values were independently associated with active TAO (all p < 0.05). The combination of the EOM-SIRmean, LG-SIRmean, and LG-FFmean values showed better performance than the EOM-SIRmean value alone in staging TAO in both the training (AUC, 0.820 vs 0.793; p = 0.016) and validation (AUC, 0.751 vs 0.733, p = 0.341) cohorts. Conclusion: Dixon MRI-based parameters of EOMs, LGs, and IF are useful for differentiating active from inactive TAO. The integration of multiple parameters can further improve staging performance. Phase equilibria were investigated between 200 and 800 °C in the Cu-Zn binary system. Wavelength dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) was performed to determine the equilibrium compositions, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was performed to investigate the solidus and liquidus temperatures and the invariant reaction temperatures of the Zn-rich portion. The β/(α + β) boundary in the Cu-rich portion extended toward the Cu-rich side as the temperature decreased below the A2–B2 order–disorder transformation temperature, and the phase boundaries of the γ, δ and ε phases shifted toward the Cu-rich side. The liquidus temperatures of the ε + liquid were higher than those of the previous report. Charge loss at grain boundaries of kesterite Cu2ZnSn(S, Se)4 polycrystalline absorbers is an important cause limiting the performance of this emerging thin-film solar cell. Herein, we report a Pd element assisted reaction strategy to suppress atomic vacancy defects in GB regions. The Pd, on one hand in the form of PdSex compounds, can heterogeneously cover the GBs of the absorber film, suppressing Sn and Se volatilization loss and the formation of their vacancy defects (i.e. VSn and VSe), and on the other hand, in the form of Pd(II)/Pd(IV) redox shuttle, can assist the capture and exchange of Se atoms, thus contributing to eliminating the already-existing VSe defects within GBs. These collective effects have effectively reduced charge recombination loss and enhanced p-type characteristics of the kesterite absorber. As a result, high-performance kesterite solar cells with a total-area efficiency of 14.5% (certified at 14.3%) have been achieved. Charge loss at grain boundaries of kesterite polycrystalline absorbers limits the performance of thin film solar cells. The breather solutions for Lakshmanan-Porsezian-Daniel equation with fourth-order dispersion and fifth-order nonlinearity are studied in this paper. The breather solutions under plane wave background are solved by bilinear method and different evolution situations under different parameters are analyzed. Based on cascading instabilities analysis for the first several Fourier modes, the times at which the first breather occurs are predicted on about the same order of magnitude. By numerical simulations, multiple breathers recurrence after the first breather is formed in time can be observed, that is the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou recurrence phenomena appears. The effects of the higher-order coefficient and the plane wave background parameter on the propagation of the breather waves and the chaotic behavior of the Fourier mode are also discussed. Background: Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler-induced vascular embolism that threatens skin integrity is an urgent situation. There is increasing evidence that percutaneous intra-arterial hyaluronidase injection is an effective therapeutic technique for it. However, until now, there is a lack of a unifying protocol about the technique. Objectives: This study aims to provide a conclusion of percutaneous intra-arterial hyaluronidase injection along with adjunctive measures on the treatment of occlusions precipitated by HA-based filler and develop a stepwise treatment protocol. Methods: We searched PubMed for peer-reviewed studies, consensus statements, case series, and case reports using a variety of keywords. Results: High-dose, pulsed hyaluronidase is the mainstay for the treatment of HA filler-induced embolism, but percutaneous intra-arterial hyaluronidase injection is a more effective technique. Until now, hyaluronidase is injected into three arteries percutaneously, including facial artery, supratrochlear artery, and superficial temporal artery. Furthermore, the adjunctive measures that may optimize clearance of an occlusion and/or skin barrier repair such as the use of image guidance and CGF should be considered. Conclusion: Vascular occlusions that threaten skin integrity are an urgent matter which requires accurate diagnosis and effective intervention. Percutaneous intra-arterial hyaluronidase injection along with adjunctive measures performed in a stepwise manner is key to an optimal outcome. The microstructure and mechanical properties of a highly alloyed aluminum alloy Al-11.3Zn-3.1 Mg-1.6Cu-0.2Zr under four kinds of aging were investigated. The matrix precipitates were featured by η + η' for T6 and RRA, GP zone for T6I4, and GP zone + η' for T6R6I4 (T6 + Retrogression + T6I4), respectively. The grain boundary precipitates were featured by continuous GBPs for T6, and discontinuous GBPs for RRA, T6I4, and T6R6I4. The precipitate-free zone width exhibited a decreasing trend from RRA to T6, to T6R6I4, and finally to T6I4. The alloys subjected to T6I4 and T6R6I4 exhibited higher tensile strength and ductility. The precipitate strengthening of the four aged alloys was quantitatively analyzed and discussed in detail. T6I4 and T6R6I4 alloys exhibited a yield strength of 787 MPa and 751 MPa, ultimate tensile strengths of 792 MPa and 778 MPa, and elongation values of 7.8% and 8.3%, respectively. Dragon's Blood (DB) serves as a precious Chinese medicine facilitating blood circulation and stasis dispersion. Daemonorops draco (D. draco; Qi-Lin-Jie) and Dracaena cochinchinensis (D. cochinchinenesis; Long-Xue-Jie) are two reputable plant sources for preparing DB. This work was designed to comprehensively characterize and compare the metabolome differences between D. draco and D. cochinchinenesis, by integrating liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry and untargeted metabolomics analysis. Offline two-dimensional liquid chromatography/ion mobility-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (2D-LC/IM-QTOF-MS), by utilizing a powerful hybrid scan approach, was elaborated for multicomponent characterization. Configuration of an XBridge Amide column and an HSS T3 column in offline mode exhibited high orthogonality (A0 0.80) in separating the complex components in DB. Particularly, the hybrid high-definition MSE-high definition data-dependent acquisition (HDMSE-HDDDA) in both positive and negative ion modes was applied for data acquisition. Streamlined intelligent data processing facilitated by the UNIFI™ (Waters) bioinformatics platform and searching against an in-house chemical library (recording 223 known compounds) enabled efficient structural elucidation. We could characterize 285 components, including 143 from D. draco and 174 from D. cochinchinensis. Holistic comparison of the metabolomes among 21 batches of DB samples by the untargeted metabolomics workflows unveiled 43 significantly differential components. Separately, four and three components were considered as the marker compounds for identifying D. draco and D. cochinchinenesis, respectively. Conclusively, the chemical composition and metabolomic differences of two DB resources were investigated by a dimension-enhanced analytical approach, with the results being beneficial to quality control and the differentiated clinical application of DB. Sirolimus is a regularly applied immunosuppressant for patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Sirolimus not only significantly inhibits HCC recurrence but also protects renal function. However, the improvement effect of sirolimus on nontumour-related death in patients is still unknown. The aim of our study was to investigate the therapeutic effect of sirolimus on nontumour-related deaths. In this study, we retrospectively enrolled 403 LT patients with HCC from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2018. The median follow-up time was 47.1 months. The patients were divided into the sirolimus group (N = 184) and the sirolimus-free group (N = 219). There were no significant differences between the sirolimus group and the sirolimus-free group in survival (P = 0.054). In transplant patients who exceeded the Milan or Hangzhou criteria, the sirolimus group achieved higher survival than the sirolimus-free group (P = 0.005; P = 0.02). Moreover, multivariate analysis showed that sirolimus strongly reduced the hazard ratio (HR) for nontumour-related death in LT patients who exceeded the Milan (HR: 0.42; 95% CI: 0.18–1; P = 0.05) or Hangzhou criteria (HR: 0.26; 95% CI: 0.08–0.89; P = 0.032). HCC recurrence increased the risk of nontumour-related death. In conclusion, sirolimus-based immunosuppression can significantly reduce nontumour-related death in LT patients who exceed the criteria for transplantation. Quantum effects in photosynthetic energy transport in nature, especially for the typical Fenna-Matthews-Olson (FMO) complexes, are extensively studied in quantum biology. Such energy transport processes can be investigated as open quantum systems that blend the quantum coherence and environmental noise, and have been experimentally simulated on a few quantum devices. However, the existing experiments always lack a solid quantum simulation for the FMO energy transport due to their constraints to map a variety of issues in actual FMO complexes that have rich biological meanings. Here we successfully map the full coupling profile of the seven-site FMO structure by comprehensive characterisation and precise control of the evanescent coupling of the three-dimensional waveguide array. By applying a stochastic dynamical modulation on each waveguide, we introduce the base site energy and the dephasing term in coloured noise to faithfully simulate the power spectral density of the FMO complexes. We show our photonic model well interprets the phenomena including reorganisation energy, vibrational assistance, exciton transfer and energy localisation. We further experimentally demonstrate the existence of an optimal transport efficiency at certain dephasing strength, providing a window to closely investigate environment-assisted quantum transport. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a massive clinical challenge, annually affecting millions of patients globally. VTE is a particularly consequential pathology, as incidence is correlated with extremely common risk factors, and a large cohort of patients experience recurrent VTE after initial intervention. Altered hemodynamics, hypercoagulability, and damaged vascular tissue cause deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, the two permutations of VTE. Venous valves have been identified as likely locations for initial blood clot formation, but the exact pathway by which thrombosis occurs in this environment is not entirely clear. Several risk factors are known to increase the likelihood of VTE, particularly those that increase inflammation and coagulability, increase venous resistance, and damage the endothelial lining. While these risk factors are useful as predictive tools, VTE diagnosis prior to presentation of outward symptoms is difficult, chiefly due to challenges in successfully imaging deep-vein thrombi. Clinically, VTE can be managed by anticoagulants or mechanical intervention. Recently, direct oral anticoagulants and catheter-directed thrombolysis have emerged as leading tools in resolution of venous thrombosis. While a satisfactory VTE model has yet to be developed, recent strides have been made in advancing in silico models of venous hemodynamics, hemorheology, fluid–structure interaction, and clot growth. These models are often guided by imaging-informed boundary conditions or inspired by benchtop animal models. Biofeedback therapy is mainly based on the analysis of physiological features to improve an individual's affective state. There are insufficient objective indicators to assess symptom improvement after biofeedback. In addition to psychological and physiological features, speech features can precisely convey information about emotions. The use of speech features can improve the objectivity of psychiatric assessments. Therefore, biofeedback based on subjective symptom scales, objective speech, and physiological features to evaluate efficacy provides a new approach for early screening and treatment of emotional problems in college students. A 4-week, randomized, controlled, parallel biofeedback therapy study was conducted with college students with symptoms of anxiety or depression. Speech samples, physiological samples, and clinical symptoms were collected at baseline and at the end of treatment, and the extracted speech features and physiological features were used for between-group comparisons and correlation analyses between the biofeedback and wait-list groups. Based on the speech features with differences between the biofeedback intervention and wait-list groups, an artificial neural network was used to predict the therapeutic effect and response after biofeedback therapy. Through biofeedback therapy, improvements in depression (p = 0.001), anxiety (p = 0.001), insomnia (p = 0.013), and stress (p = 0.004) severity were observed in college-going students (n = 52). The speech and physiological features in the biofeedback group also changed significantly compared to the waitlist group (n = 52) and were related to the change in symptoms. The energy parameters and Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) of speech features can predict whether biofeedback intervention effectively improves anxiety and insomnia symptoms and treatment response. The accuracy of the classification model built using the artificial neural network (ANN) for treatment response and non-response was approximately 60%. The results of this study provide valuable information about biofeedback in improving the mental health of college-going students. The study identified speech features, such as the energy parameters, and MFCC as more accurate and objective indicators for tracking biofeedback therapy response and predicting efficacy. Bromate is receiving increased attention as a typical disinfection by-product in aquatic environments, but bromate toxicity tests on invertebrate such as Brachionus calyciflorus rotifer are inadequate. In the present study, the long-term toxicity tests on B. calyciflorus were performed during 21 days under the exposure of different bromate concentrations and two algal density conditions. Furthermore, we evaluated the feeding behaviors of the rotifers under the impact of bromate. The maximum population density of rotifers was significantly reduced at 100 and 200 mg/L bromate exposure at the two algal density conditions. However, we observed that the maximum population density and population growth rate of rotifers were higher at 3.0 × 106 cells/mL algal density than those at 1.0 × 106 cells/mL under the same conditions of bromate exposure. These results suggest that higher food density may have alleviated the negative effects of bromate on rotifers. Meanwhile, the ingestion rate at an algal density of 3.0 × 106 cells/mL was higher than that at 1.0 × 106 cells/mL. Background: N4-acetylcytidine (ac4C) is a conserved and abundant mRNA modification that controls protein expression by affecting translation efficiency and mRNA stability. Whether the ac4C modification of mRNA regulates hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development or affects the immunotherapy of HCC is unknown. Methods: By constructing an orthotopic transplantation mouse HCC model and isolating tumour-infiltrated immunocytes, we evaluated the ac4C modification intensity using flow cytometry. Remodelin hydrobromide (REM), an ac4C modification inhibitor, was systematically used to understand the extensive role of ac4C modification in immunocyte phenotypes. Single-cell RNA-seq was performed to comprehensively evaluate the changes in the tumour-infiltrating immunocytes and identify targeted cell clusters. RNA-seq and RIP-seq analyses were performed to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms. Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA) analysis on the HCC tissue microarray was performed to explore the clinical relatedness of our findings. Results: Ac4C modification promoted M1 macrophage infiltration and reduced myeloid-derived suppressor cell MDSCs infiltration in HCC. The inhibition of ac4C modification induces PDL1 expression by stabilising mRNA in the myeloid cells, thereby attenuating the CTL-mediated tumour cell-killing ability. High infiltration of ac4C+CD11b+ cells is positively related to a better prognosis in patients with HCC. In this note, we study some approximation properties on a class of special Lototsky–Bernstein bases. We focus on approximation of | x | on [ − 1 , 1 ] by an approximation process generated from fixed points on Lototsky–Bernstein bases. Emphasizing the United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 4, this paper explores the innovative application of blockchain-powered Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) technology in education, with a particular focus on disability inclusion. This study introduces a novel disability management system powered by Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge (zk-SNARK). This advanced system enables educational institutions to verify the status of students with disabilities without compromising their personal information, thereby preserving their privacy and reinforcing their identity. This paper evaluates the potential operational efficiency of this prototype system against the existing costs incurred by higher education institutions in disability schemes. It also examines the system's potential to enhance self-disclosure among students with disability, which is pivotal for their academic success. By advocating for privacy and inclusivity, this study highlights the transformative potential of ZKP in creating an educational environment where students with disabilities can comfortably disclose their needs.
