Organizations today depend increasingly on the effective adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to ensure sustainable growth in a competitive global landscape. However, research on the internal factors influencing successful ICT adoption, especially through case studies, remains limited. This study seeks to address this gap by exploring the internal factors such as organizational culture, leadership styles, employee attitudes, resource availability, user perceptions, and peer influence that drive ICT adoption and align with organizational strategies. Drawing on a literature review and qualitative case study analysis of peer-reviewed articles, books, and reports published from 2003 to 2024, the study examines how these factors impact ICT integration and contribute to long-term success. Case studies from leading organizations illustrate how ICT strategies are implemented effectively in diverse contexts. The study is guided by theoretical frameworks, including Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), extending their application to internal organizational dynamics. The findings extend existing theoretical frameworks such as Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by applying them to internal organizational contexts, illustrating the role of leadership, culture, and resources in ICT adoption. Practically, this study provides recommendations for developing an ICT-driven culture, aligning technology initiatives with strategic goals, and investing in infrastructure to overcome adoption barriers and create sustainable technological progress in a globalized society. This study highlighted the role played by digitalization elements, such as information and communication technology (ICT) adoption, the social internet of things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI), in e-learning systems. It also examined the mediating role of digital literacy (DL) and pedagogical digital competence (PDC) and the potential moderating role of technostress (TS). A total of 262 responses to survey questionnaires were received from the IT administrators who worked under the directorate of information technology in top QS ranking Malaysian universities; the survey data was then analyzed through PLS-SEM. The study findings revealed that ICT adoption and the social IoT considerably impact e-learning systems and highlighted that artificial intelligence also has a partial impact. Digital literacy and pedagogical digital competence also significantly mediated the relationships between ICT adoption, artificial intelligence, and e-learning systems. Social IoT and technostress did not show a significant impact. The study developed a new theoretical concept for adopting innovative technology in e-learning systems through 'Four Tier Technology Gears', such as start-up, boost-up, smooth-up, and speed-up technology gears. From a theoretical perspective, the study has built-up a theoretical affiliation with the TAM and UTAUT models, which are especially proposed for technology adoption in real-life. The study provides remarkable and valuable recommendations to researchers, designers, policymakers, IT instructors, and structural developers in the context of awareness of key facts for e-learning systems in practical life – especially in an emergency condition, such as the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia. The adoption of information and communication technology (ICT), such as the Internet, smartphones, and tablets, has increased markedly. The present study examines how this adoption affects objective and subjective well-being inequality, using the 2018 China Family Panel Studies data. We employ the Gini coefficient to measure objective well-being inequality indicators (income inequality and consumption inequality) and the variance to measure subjective well-being inequality indicators (happiness inequality and life-satisfaction inequality). The two-stage residual inclusion approach is utilized to address the endogeneity of ICT adoption. The results show that ICT adoption significantly lowers income and consumption inequality. The findings for subjective well-being are mixed: ICT adoption reduces happiness inequality, whereas it does not influence life-satisfaction inequality. Furthermore, income inequality does not influence subjective well-being; however, consumption inequality is positively associated with happiness inequality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has undoubtedly forms an important channel for improving student learning through continuous access to information and knowledge development. Evidence suggests that teachers in rural secondary schools are still unclear about how to use technology appropriately to facilitate particular approaches to educational practice. Quantitative research method and the modified Unified Theory for Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model were used to investigate factors that influence teachers to adopt ICT in rural secondary schools. A closed questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument and the data was analysed using descriptive statistics techniques. The results show that opportunities such as ICT infrastructure, training policy, collaboration, ICT assessments and ability to communicate using ICT influence teachers' adoption of ICT and make teaching and learning effective. ICT assessments facilitate the recording of responses, provide necessary feedback, empower teachers and students and transform teaching and learning processes from being teacher-centered to student-centered. Furthermore, communication platforms and collaboration models if implemented might be particularly effective in generating increased participation and improve learning outcomes. The ICT training policy guide teachers in the adoption of ICT in the classroom. Evidently, it is essential to adequately develop teachers' ICT fluency and put in place appropriate ICT infrastructure and training policy to enhance teaching and learning practices in rural secondary schools. This paper examines the joint effects of the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and individual income on farmers' psychological health, measured by happiness, life satisfaction, stress and loneliness. We employ a two-stage residual inclusion approach combined with a conditional mixed process model to analyse data collected from 7065 rural households in China. The econometric strategy addresses the potential endogeneity issues of ICT adoption and individual income and captures the possible interdependence between the two variables. The empirical findings reveal that both ICT adoption and high individual income are significantly associated with higher levels of happiness and life satisfaction, but are significantly associated with lower levels of stress and loneliness. Further analysis reveals that there exists a positive interaction effect between farmers' decision to adopt ICTs and their income. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Using data at the bank-firm level collected through the 9th UniCredit Survey conducted in 2012 on a large sample of small businesses, we investigate the extent to which a large international bank offers better credit conditions to enterprises that use ICT more extensively. The results, which are robust to selection and endogeneity issues, show that banks tend to grant increasing volumes of credit to such enterprises. We interpret this evidence as the ceteris paribus effect of ICT adoption by small businesses on the quality of information transmitted to banks. Another possible interpretation is that banks consider ICT adoption as a signal of firms' willingness to innovate. In the past decade, governments around the world have made significant investments to improve Internet access in underserved areas. Yet there is scant evidence on how effective these measures are at increasing Internet adoption and narrowing the digital divide. In this paper, we empirically investigate the effect of the supply of Internet access on Internet adoption. The main empirical challenge is the issue of endogeneity, as Internet service providers (ISPs) selectively enter markets based on local demand characteristics. We propose a novel solution to this problem using a panel dataset of households that relocate to different Internet access supply conditions. We find that the supply of Internet access has little effect on Internet adoption: underserved markets-those with fewer than 4 ISPs-exhibit levels of adoption comparable to well-served markets with plenty of service providers. Our findings suggest that the highly touted government initiatives to boost Internet access in underserved areas are likely to have limited impact on adoption rate in those regions. Broadband access is widely considered to be a productivity-enhancing factor, but there are few firm-level estimates of its benefits. We use a large micro-survey of firms linked to longitudinal firm financial data to determine the impact that broadband access has on firm productivity. Propensity score matching is used to control for factors, including the firm's own lagged productivity, that determine a firm's internet access choice. Instrumental variables estimates are employed as a robustness check. Results indicate that broadband adoption boosts firm productivity by 7-10%; effects are consistent across urban versus rural locations and across high versus low knowledge intensive sectors.
