HIV-1 infection-induced cGAS–STING–TBK1–IRF3 signaling activates innate immunity to produce type I interferon (IFN). The HIV-1 nonstructural protein viral infectivity factor (Vif) is essential in HIV-1 replication, as it degrades the host restriction factor APOBEC3G. However, whether and how it regulates the host immune response remains to be determined. In this study, we found that Vif inhibited the production of type I IFN to promote immune evasion. HIV-1 infection induced the activation of the host tyrosine kinase FRK, which subsequently phosphorylated the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) of Vif and enhanced the interaction between Vif and the cellular tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 to inhibit type I IFN. Mechanistically, the association of Vif with SHP-1 facilitated SHP-1 recruitment to STING and inhibited the K63-linked ubiquitination of STING at Lys337 by dephosphorylating STING at Tyr162. However, the FRK inhibitor D-65495 counteracted the phosphorylation of Vif to block the immune evasion of HIV-1 and antagonize infection. These findings reveal a previously unknown mechanism through which HIV-1 evades antiviral immunity via the ITIM-containing protein to inhibit the posttranslational modification of STING. These results provide a molecular basis for the development of new therapeutic strategies to treat HIV-1 infection.

The changes of properties of wood-based Cu–Ni composites were studied via a simple electroless Cu and Ni method on wood surface to obtain Cu–Ni multilayer composites with excellent properties. The results showed that the wood was conducted via two times electroless Cu and one times electroless Ni had better performance, obtaining good surface roughness (9.99 μm) and good hydrophobic performance (contact angle, 122.5°). Here, Cu particles grew closely among Ni particles and embedded in Ni particles. The electrical conductivity of wood-based Cu–Ni composites was 2370.76 S/cm. When the electroless Ni was 55 min, the contact angle could reach 123°, indicating that the composite coatings had best hydrophobicity. The Ni/Cu, Cu/Cu, and Cu/Wood three layers with different electrical-magnetic properties can induce multiple reflections at each interface, which promote to the absorption attenuation. The average electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of Cu and Ni wood-based composites can reach 93.8 dB at L band ranging from 0.3 × 10−3 to 3.0 × 103 MHz with a low thickness (157 μm) and an ultralow density (0.75 g/cm3), verified the multilayer composite materials can block over 99.99% of incident EM waves.

Background Perioperative hypotension increases postoperative complication rates and prolongs postoperative recovery time. Whether Passive Leg Raising test (PLR) and Subclavian Vein Diameter (DSCV) can effectively predict post-anesthesia hypotension remains to be tested. This study aimed to identify specific predictors of General Anesthesia (GA)induced hypotension by measuring DSCV in the supine versus PLR position. Methods A total of 110 patients who underwent elective gynecological laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia, were enrolled in this study. Before anesthesia, DSCV and theCollapsibility Index of DSCV(DSCV-CI) were measured by ultrasound, and the difference in maximal values of DSCV between supine and PLR positions was calculated, expressed as ΔDSCV. Hypotension was defined as Mean Blood Pressure (MBP) below 60mmhg or more than 30% below the baseline. Patients were divided into two groups according to the presence (Group H) or absence (Group N) of postanesthesia hypotension. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) and logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the predictability of DSCV and other parameters for predicting preincision hypotension. Results Three patients were excluded due to unclear ultrasound scans, resulting in a total of 107 patients studied. Twenty-seven (25.2%) patients experienced hypotension. Area under the ROC curve of ΔDSCV was 0.75 (P P Conclusions ΔDSCV has predictive value for hypotension after general anesthesia. Trial registration The trial was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on 04/10/2021.

A lignocellulolytic microbial consortium holds promise for the in situ biodegradation of crop straw and the comprehensive and effective utilization of agricultural waste. In this study, we applied metagenomics technology to comprehensively explore the metabolic functional potential and taxonomic diversity of the microbial consortia CS (cultured on corn stover) and FP (cultured on filter paper). Analyses of the data on metagenomics taxonomic affiliations revealed considerable differences in the taxonomic composition and carbohydrate-active enzymes profile of the microbial consortia CS and FP. Pseudomonas, Dysgonomonas and Sphingobacterium in CS and Cellvibrio and Pseudomonas in FP had a much wider distribution of lignocellulose degradative ability. The genes for more lignocellulose degradative enzymes were detected when the relatively simple substrate filter paper was used as the carbon source. Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COG) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) annotation analyses revealed considerable levels of similarity, and carbohydrate metabolic and amino acid metabolic pathways were the most enriched in CS and FP, respectively. The mechanism used by the two microbial consortia to degrade lignocellulose was similar, but the annotation of quantity of genes indicated that they are diverse and vary greatly. These data underlie the interactions between microorganisms and the synergism of enzymes during the degradative process of lignocellulose under different substrates and suggest the development of potential microbial resources.

A series of xLiMn0.5Fe0.5PO4–yLi3V2(PO4)3/C (x:y = 4:1, 3:1, 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3) composite cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries are successfully prepared by the rheological phase reaction method. The structures, morphologies, and electrochemical properties of these composite materials are studied. The results indicate that xLiMn0.5Fe0.5PO4–yLi3V2(PO4)3/C composites are composed of LiMn0.5Fe0.5PO4 and Li3V2(PO4)3 phases and mutual doping exists. The initial discharge capacities, initial Coulombic efficiencies, and capacity retentions of composites increase but then decline with the increase of Li3V2(PO4)3 content. All the composites show higher capacity retentions than LiMn0.5Fe0.5PO4/C and Li3V2(PO4)3/C single phases except LMFP–3LVP/C. The composite material of x:y = 1:1 exhibits remarkably superior electrochemical performance than the single phases and other composites both in discharge capacity and cycle performance, delivering the initial discharge capacity of 148.2 mA h/g (2.0–4.5 V) and 170.1 mA h/g (2.0–4.8 V) at 0.1 C. And the corresponding capacity retentions are 98.0 and 90.4% after 100 cycles, respectively.

The effects of epigenetic modification on the differentiation of islet cells and the expression of associated genes (Pdx-1, Pax4, MafA, and Nkx6.1, etc) were investigated. The promoter methylation status of islet differentiation-associated genes (Pdx-1, Pax4, MafA and Nkx6.1), Oct4 and MLH1 genes of mouse embryonic stem cells, NIH3T3 cells and NIT-1 cells were profiled by methylated DNA immunoprecipitation, real-time quantitative PCR (MeDIP-qPCR) techniques. The histone modification status of these genes promoter region in different cell types was also measured by using chromatin immunoprecipitation real-time quantitative PCR methods. The expression of these genes in these cells was detected by using real-time quantitative PCR. The relationship between the epigenetic modification (DNA methylation, H3 acetylation, H3K4m3 and H3K9m3) of these genes and their expression was analyzed. The results showed that: (1) the transcription-initiation-sites of Pdx-1, MafA and Nkx6.1 were highly methylated in NIH3T3 cells; (2) NIH3T3 cells showed a significantly higher level of DNA methylation modification in the transcription-initiation-site of Pdx-1, Pax4, MafA and Nkx6.1 genes than that in mES cells and NIT-1 cells (P

Mo–V–Te–P mixed oxide catalysts, prepared by a dry-up method at various pHs (in the range of about 1.0–9.0), have been tested in the partial oxidation of isobutane. The best catalytic performance was achieved over a catalyst prepared at a pH about 7.0. In this case, high selectivity to methacrolein (37.0%) at an isobutane conversion of 12.7% has been obtained at 380 °C. The surface V4+/V5+ ratios of the calcined samples were strongly influenced by the pH in the synthesized solution, which is one of the key factors in the catalytic performance for selective oxidation of isobutane.

MoV0.3Te0.17 and MoV0.3Te0.17Nb0.12 catalysts were prepared by a hydrothermal synthesis route and tested for the oxidation of isobutane and isobutene. Characterization results showed that the structure and property of Mo-V-Te-based catalysts are relatively different depending on the presence of the Nb element. Catalytic tests showed that the selectivity of methacrolein can comparatively be improved by the addition of Nb into the MoV0.3Te0.17 catalyst for the selective oxidation of isobutane.

A series of Te-Mo-O catalysts were prepared by decomposing (NH4)6TeMo6O24·nH2O telluromolybdate under different conditions and tested for the selective oxidation of isobutane and isobutene. Characterization results showed that their structure and properties depend on the calcination conditions. Catalytic tests showed that molybdenum may be the key element for the activation of isobutane, whereas the selective oxidation of isobutene to methacrolein might proceed mainly on the surface of a TeMo-containing crystalline phase.

A series of vanadium phosphorus oxides (VPO) were prepared by using dodecyl amine as surfactant and tested for the partial oxidation of isobutane and isobutene. Characterization results showed that their structure and properties depend on the content of dodecyl amine. Catalytic tests showed that relatively high isobutane conversion and desired product selectivity can be achieved over a proper dodecyl amine doping VPO catalyst. It is also found that higher isobutane conversion can be achieved over V4+-containing phases as compared to V5+-containing phases, while proper surface V5+/V4+ ratio may be propitious to obtain high selectivity to methacrylic acid for the selective oxidation of isobutane. In addition, the content of dodecyl amine in the preparation of the VPO catalysts appears to be more important in determining the surface P/V ratio of the catalysts.

A series of Mo–V–O catalysts were prepared by calcining the orthorhombic (M1) Mo–V–O phase containing precursors under different conditions (T = 500 or 600 °C in atmosphere of N2 or air) and tested for the oxidation of isobutane and isobutene. Characterization results (BET, XRD, XPS, FTIR, and TPR) showed that their structure and properties depend on the composition of the calcined samples and the calcined conditions. Catalytic tests showed that relatively high isobutane conversion and desired product selectivity can be achieved over MoV0.3-500-N and MoV0.3-600-A catalysts. It is also found that both orthorhombic M1 phase and (V0.07M0.93)5O14 phase are active and selective for the selective oxidation of isobutane to methacrolein, whereas higher selectivity toward methacrolein (40.4%) can be achieved over the former phase at a moderate isobutane conversion (6.4%). Moreover, (Mo0.3V0.7)2O5 phase may be propitious to complete oxidation for the selective oxidation of isobutane. On the other hand, the presence of V affects the activity and selectivity, and a low surface V4+ concentration prefers selective oxidation products. In addition, specific surface areas of the catalysts appear to be little important in determining the catalytic activation.
