In this contribution, it presents a mechatronics application for automatic color recognition and sorting process performed by the robotic arm. Color sorting is the phenomenon for sorting and analyzing different colors of an object and thereby picking and placing the objects at its desired location, thus enhancing efficiency and minimizing human errors in performing a certain task. The present work discusses the design and development of 3-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) robotic arm. The system consists of two DC gear motors in order to move the robot in any desired location and four servo motors to control the movement of joints of robotic arm. It includes three joints, an end effector, two rectangular links and a rectangular platform. The type of controller used is Arduino Uno microcontroller which is further interfaced with PIR sensor, color sensor TCS3200 and four servo motors to control the direction of robotic arm. The robotic arms are widely used in industries, but most of them are programmed to follow a previously learned trajectory. Very few robots are able to make real-time decisions, and so they may not be considered smart systems. One example of the smart robotic arm is provided by a device which can sort some objects taking advantage of the information contained in tags glued on the basis of the same objects. These systems can be used in several applications for protecting the environments aimed to automatize the processes of waste stocking and disposal simply differentiating the tag information.

Almost from the beginning of mankind, there has been the existence of different kinds of wine. It has also become very important for us to know the quality of the wine, before consuming it. In the last few decades, the food industry has grown enormously and so are the food quality analysis and its “rating” process. We often come across cases in which a consumer falls sick because of consuming low-quality food, so it has become a necessary evil for us to have a quality analysis of a product before selling the product, “evil” because it adds up extra cost to the production of the final product. Similarly, it is also necessary to do a quality analysis of wine and there have been different methods used to determine the quality of the wine, but we often get confused regarding which method to rely on! This paper focuses on the comparative study over different classification algorithms for wine quality analysis which are: SVM, random forest and multilayer perceptron and to know which of the above-mentioned classification algorithms give more accurate result.

The main objective of the paper is to acclimatize the throttle accommodated in the internal combustion engine (ICE) to attain maximum output torque while alternating fuel consumed by adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) controller. This paper describes various techniques to acclimatize the throttle in ICE. The throttle manages the flow of fluid and can increase or decrease the engine’s power, and the air fuel ratio is checked and adjusted. Constantly maintain the air fuel ratio of the vehicle to attain the improved performance of the maximum possible torque demand from the engine. ANFIS control technique is an optimal method for controlling the hybrid vehicles. Hybrid vehicles are propelled by two sources. In this paper, hybrid vehicle uses two sources, that is, ICE and battery which is being charged with wind turbine.

As the earthquake events are unpredictable, the accurate estimation of settlement and excess pore pressure is challenging for the soil foundation system against earthquake loading. Therefore, it is essential to study the effect of an earthquake before the construction of any structure on a particular site. In the present paper, response of a shallow foundation resting on liquefiable soil is numerically modeled to evaluate its response under cyclic loading. Two different conditions have been numerically simulated and the effect of spacing in between two foundations has been studied along with light and heavy foundation. The porous media theory based on coupled approach has been considered for analyzing the system. A computer code for finite element analysis has been developed in FORTRAN 90. The inelastic behavior which includes dilitancy and hardening behavior of the soil is modeled using Pastor–Zienkiewicz Mark III model. The settlement and effective pore pressure obtained are validated with centrifuge test results. It is observed that settlements during the cyclic loading time remained almost the same, regardless of the foundations spacing. The post-shaking settlements, however, were different for different spacing. Foundations settled often less when located close to each other.
