Abstract

HgSe and CdSe belong to the II-VI compounds family. Until now, the surface properties of these crystals have not been investigated as intensively as those of Si and III-V compounds. Lately, however, growing of the epilayers of II-VI materials on III-V substrates and applications in the technology of quantum wells and superlattices turned out to be possible and useful. This makes the investigation of the surface structure of II-VI crystals increasingly necessary and important.
