We review the experimental work on the alloy series (TSeF)x(TTF)1−x-TCNQ and its interpretation, emphasizing expecially those results that give information about TTF-TCNQ itself. We consider the systematic behavior of the lattice parameters, do conductivity, thermoelectric power, spin susceptibility, EPR g shift and linewidth, and diffuse X-ray scattering. We discuss the implications of this behavior for the individual roles of the two kinds of stacks, the importance of Coulomb correlations, the nature of the phase transitions, and the dimensionality of the electronic motions.
