Climate change and the deteriorating state of the environment pose a serious threat to the European Union and the entire world. The Green Deal for Europe sets a potential goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This agreement aims to promote a green economy, create sustainable industry and transport, and reduce pollution. The main intention is to turn climate and environmental challenges into opportunities and ensure that the transition is fair and inclusive. The European Commission supports EU Member States in designing and implementing reforms that support the ecological transformation and contribute to achieving the objectives of the Green Deal for Europe. The Commission also assists in designing the necessary procedures in central and local administrations and creates the coordination structures necessary for the implementation of environmental policies. The aim of this article was to propose possible strategies to use and support the competitiveness of companies in the Czech Republic in meeting the goals of the European Union. In order to increase competitiveness, it focuses on strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises, reducing sector market barriers, facilitating foreign investment and trade, supporting research and innovation, better managing public-private partnerships and optimizing state-owned enterprises. With this contribution, the authors are trying to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the European Union and at the same time support the competitiveness of companies in the Czech Republic. Strategic management and management in general as well as the form of behavioral management of post-mining landscapes is a very important question of how to meaningfully use brownfields that will arise after the end of fossil fuel extraction. The authors of the presented article focused on these revitalization areas in the form of project management from the perspective of strategies for suitable locations. These localities are very important for the further development of the area, and related to this are the possibilities of financing not only from domestic sources, but also from the sources of the European Union. An example can be the use of post-mining landscapes in the surrounding countries, although it should be taken into account that the Czech Republic and its post-mining landscapes are very specific localities, and therefore they will be considered in the contribution. utors will present the possible use of selected locations with a form of financing. It goes without saying that emphasis will be placed on the mining traditions of the Moravian-Silesian region in which the sites are located, but the authors will also focus on sites elsewhere in the Czech Republic. Plastic materials are one of the main technological discoveries of modern civilization. Thanks to their variable properties and relatively low production costs, they have become an integral part of almost all human activities. The global production of plastics is constantly increasing. They are most often used as packaging materials and also play a vital role in construction and healthcare. In the presented article, the authors examine the methods of handling plastic waste in the Czech Republic and describe individual methods of processing plastic waste, including landfilling, energy use and recycling. The article focuses on the situation in the Czech Republic and describes the relevant legislation. The objectives of the European Union in this area are also listed. The authors also managed to collect statistical data on plastic waste management in individual countries and try to analyze and compare the causes of different results between countries.
