Critical thinking in nursery is the ability and skill of an individual, who is aware of his/her own reasoning, to go in quest of information, to acquire, assess, analyse and synthesise information, to take decisions and consequently to use it by combining it with his/her own creativity and taking risk in order to improve the individual's ability to think. Critical thinking is essential since it potentially affects the patient care in nursery. Therefore, nurses should be able to employ critical thinking in ensuring optimal patient care and clinical decision-taking processes due to rapidly changing health care system and technology. Nurses who are able to use and improve their propensity to and ability of critical thinking contribute in improvement of nursery practices and rising the quality of health care practices applied on people in addition to their own improvement and development. In this article, definition of critical thinking and its role in nursery were discussed in addition to results of scientific studies conducted on measurement of critical thinking and critical thinking in nursery.
