Two new species of the prostigmatic mite genus Adamystis Cunliffe, 1957—A. theroni sp. nov. and A. ueckermanni sp. nov.—from Fars province, Iran are described and illustrated based on female specimens collected from soil, humus and leaf litter under oak trees (Quercus brantii Lindl, 1840 ). Adamystis theroni sp. nov. differs from its congeners in having a smooth dorsal shield encompassing setal rows c, d and e, chelicera with two setae, lateral lip with three adoral setae, and coxal setation of 2-4-4-4. Adamystis ueckermanni sp. nov.is unique in having the trichobothrial pair sci placed far apart from each other, and the large dorsal shield with a mixed reticulation pattern encompassing setal rows c, d, e, f and h. A diagnostic key to the four species of Adamystis known from Iran is also given.

A new species of Adamystidae is described, Adamystis iranoturanianensis sp. nov. These mites were collected from soil, humus and litter in the southern parts of the Kamfiruz Region in Fars, Iran. This family comprises 16 species including the new species described herein. The new species differs from the other members of this family by: the fused, punctate and reticulate endopodal shield; possessing two pairs of plates in the genital region; and the unique coxal formula 1-3-2-2. This is the first record of this family from Iran.

A new mite species, Ledermuelleriopsis dogani sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on material collected from Euonymus japonicus Thunberg (Celastraceae) and Pinus pinea L. (Pinaceae) at Marvdasht, Fars province. The dorsal setae of the new species are clavate-spinose and the coxisternal shields are smooth. A key to all known world species of the genus is given.

Adult female Paraseiulus triporus (Chant & Yoshida-Shaul) and Proprioseiopsis dacus (Wainstein) are redescribed and illustrated based on specimens collected in Iran. These two species were collected from citrus trees in Mazandaran Province, Tonekabon County. The morphology of the mites collected in Iran is compared with that given in the original descriptions. Proprioseiopsis dacus is recorded for the first time in Iran.

Neothrombium mojdehii sp. nov. (Acari: Neothrombiidae) is described and illustrated from a larva ectoparasitic on adults of Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa L. (Orthoptera: Gryllotalpidae) from Kazerun, Iran. A key to species (larva) of Neothrombium of the world is presented.

Four new species of Leptus are described: L. nikanori from plants in Costa Rica, L. filipinae from undetermined Lampyridae (Coleoptera) in Costa Rica, from undetermined Heteroptera and plants in Belize and Mexico; L. simonettae from undetermined Acrididae and plants in Guatemala and Honduras and L. onnae from plants in Mexico. A key for larvae of Leptus from Neotropical and Nearctic Regions is provided.
