In the present study, we reported and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of a moth orchid, Phalaenopsis wilsonii , which is endemic to South China. Its plastid genome size is 145,373 bp, consisting of a large single copy (LSC) region (84,996 bp), a small single-copy region (10,668 bp), and two inverted repeats (IRs) regions (24,855 bp). A total of 122 plastid genes were annotated, comprising 76 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The complete plastid genome of the type species of Thrixspermum , Th. centipeda , was determined and analyzed in this work. The plastome was 147,888 bp in length with 85,899 bp of the large single-copy (LSC) region, 11,055 bp of the small single-copy (SSC) region and 25,467 bp of the invert repeats (IR) regions. The genome contained 120 genes, including 74 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Though the chloroplast genomes of several Vanda species have been sequenced, there is little information about the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of Vanda coerulescens . Herein, we established the cp genome of V. coerulescens . The chloroplast genome circle was 149,410 bp in length, with the structure of an 85,954 bp large single-copy (LSC) region and a 11,526 bp small single-copy (SSC) region, which separated by two inverted repeat (IRs) regions of 25,965 bp. It encoded 130 genes, including 74 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC-content of the whole plastome is 36.7%, whereas the corresponding values of the LSC, SSC, and IR regions ranged from 28.2% to 43.1%. In addition, the phylogenetic analysis base on 20 chloroplast genomes of Orchidaceae indicates that V. brunnea is closely related to V. coerulescens . The first complete plastid genome of Cheirostylis , Ch. chinensis , was assembled and analyzed in this study. The total genome was 147,218 bp in length, consisting of a large single-copy region (LSC) of 81,081 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 14,769 bp, and two inverted repeat regions (IRA and IRB) of 25,684 bp. The genome contained 131 genes, including 38 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, 8 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes and 85 protein-coding genes. Vanda is one of the five most horticulturally important genera in Orchidaceae. In this study, we assembled the complete plastid genome of an important cultivated species, V. concolor. The plastome was 149,474 bp in length, containing a large single-copy region (LSC) of 85,678 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 12,002 bp, and two inverted repeat regions (IR) of 25,897 bp. A total of 127 genes were predicted, including 38 tRNA, 8 rRNA, and 74 protein-coding genes. Arundina graminifolia is a popular terrestrial orchid in Southeast Asia. It has high medicinal and ornamental value. In this study, the chloroplast genome of A. graminifolia was determined from BGISEQ-500 sequencing data. The total chloroplast genome was 159,482 bp in length, consisting of a large single-copy region (LSC 87,285 bp), a small single-copy region (SSC 18,581 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (IRA and IRB 26,813 bp). The complete chloroplast genome contains 135 genes, including 88 protein-coding genes, 38 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and 8 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. In addition, the phylogenetic analysis indicates that A. graminifolia was sister to Bletilla ochracea , Bletilla striata , and Neottia fugongensis. Liparis vivipara is a terrestrial orchid distributes in southwestern China. In this study, we reported the first complete chloroplast genome of L. vivipara . The whole genome was 158,329 bp, consisting of a pair of inverted repeats (IR 27,043 bp), a large single-copy region (LSC 85,950 bp), and a small single-copy region (SSC 18,293 bp). The complete genome contained 132 genes, including 77 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA, and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC content of the whole genome was 36.9%.
