Calls for reframing the subject matter of Religious Education in schools include the tricky question of how to select from a world of potentially interesting and relevant material. Pedagogues have long questioned the educational logic that takes so-called substantive knowledge as its starting point and imagines education to follow a linear path from simple to complex. Scholars of Religious Studies have addressed similar questions of how to bring the subject matter to life through taking a more disciplinary orientation , though this approach is problematized by RE's multi-disciplinary foundations This paper brings together pedagogical and disciplinary perspectives to the question of exemplification in the production of curricular subject matter. Taking as its context RE in schools, the paper assumes the didactic principle that there is considerable difference between putative disciplinary knowledge and school subject matter and that the production of school subject matter requires considered processes of pedagogical transformation and reduction. The paper explores the logic governing this transformation by drawing on the pedagogical analysis of exemplarity offered by Martin Wagenschein alongside the more disciplinary analyses of the place of examples from Jonathan Z. Advancing equity is a major challenge facing education systems globally. This creates an imperative for researchers to work with policymakers and practitioners to affect change. There have been many attempts to do this using various forms of action-oriented research and a considerable body of knowledge exists about their strengths and limitations. The paper describes the development of a methodological approach, Design-Based Equity Research (DBER), which draws on these existing traditions but is also distinct in its explicit consideration of values. It is marked out by a process of knowledge generation, in which researcher and practitioner knowledge meet, in context, to produce new knowledge about ways in which broad values of equity might be better realized in future practice. The paper explains how the approach was developed, conceptually and empirically, through a series of studies carried out over the last twenty years. It concludes that the process has the potential to generate two important types of knowledge: substantive knowledge about how equity can be realized in practice, and processual knowledge about the DBER process itself. Conventional approaches to ethics in comparative and international educational research often entail researchers seeking institutional ethics approval; attempting to manage fieldwork's practical ethical dilemmas using institutional and disciplinary protocols; and 'writing up' methodology, primarily an account of the institutional ethics approval process. This approach largely excludes participants' conceptions of ethics, manifested through their ethical values, virtues, worldviews, knowledge, perspectives, traditions, norms, epistemologies, etc. This paper proposes a participant-centred, values-based approach which deepens the conventional approach by positioning participants' values alongside institutional and disciplinary ones; centring participants' values during fieldwork's ethical dilemmas; and articulating a situated ethics account. This alternative approach deepens researchers' capabilities for situated ethical action, and underscores the need for continuous negotiation of ethics with participants towards meaningful ethical partnerships. Such partnerships are ultimately facilitated by institutional ethics committees' flexibility in enabling, and even encouraging, researcher-participant ethical negotiations at various stages of research. Mass personalisation production is one of the strategic priorities for the next transformation of the production paradigm and market economy. With the purpose of offering personalised products to satisfy customers on an individual basis, tacit knowledge rooted in individuals has become increasingly accepted as an integral part of product design. This paper aims to explore the state-of-the-art in tacit knowledge management with a product design focus. Particularly, methods for tacit knowledge acquisition, transfer, and reuse are reviewed and analysed. Research on tacit knowledge acquisition is mainly dedicated to making tacit knowledge explicit. In knowledge transfer, both formal and informal approaches have been adopted to enable knowledge circulation. Research on tacit knowledge reuse is much less and scattered, and the main work focuses on user modelling and the reuse of empirical knowledge. Five challenges of tacit knowledge management are identified in this paper: lack of unified tacit knowledge definition, massive heterogeneous data, authenticity and completeness verification, uncertainty and gaps in bridging tacit knowledge management and personalised design, lack of practical knowledge sharing and inheritance tools. To fill these research gaps, five thematic future directions are suggested with possible visions to facilitate knowledge circulation, customer co-creation and innovation in mass personalised design. This paper aims to advance the state of knowledge related to innovation and philanthropy, by exploring the emerging field of 'participatory grantmaking' (PGM) through the lens of innovation literature. While there are increasing amounts of European and global grantmakers utilizing more participatory methodologies in their grantmaking as a means to move power and increase the collective ability to create social good, there is yet to be any literature specifically exploring the links between these two fields. This conceptual paper, therefore, uses a broad reading of innovation literature to argue that it is most fruitful to consider PGM as innovation within four modalities: as a form of social innovation, process innovation, both radical and incremental innovation, and user-driven innovation. The paper ultimately finds that user-driven innovation (and in particular co-creation / co-production as a strategy to user-driven innovation) may provide the best examples of theory and practical relevance for those utilizing PGM as a means to democratize philanthropy in Europe and beyond. There is trauma in how Indigenous knowledge collections in libraries are managed. This paper seeks to understand the tikanga Māori context of Indigenous knowledges management in library collection policies. A review of selected library policies from five major AotearoaNew Zealand libraries regarding collection development, tikanga Māori integration and specifically Māori collection content will be explored using a modified Mead's Tikanga Test (of 2003). From this analysis will be inferred the ways in which the various library policies negate or affirm tikanga Māori. This will be followed by a brief introduction to the model Ngā Matatiki Mātauranga for culturally safe management of Indigenous collections to be integrated into collection policies. This paper will draw from a Māori perspective, in Aotearoa-New Zealand. The testing of library policies from five major libraries will drive the findings to represent the state of Indigenous collection policy in Aotearoa and how best for Māori to distinguish our futures in libraries. Graphic facilitation is a growing international practice and is often used to describe what professionals do when visually facilitating group processes. Although the professional arena has grown, there is a lack of empirical research in the field, especially regarding long-term perspectives on applying the practice in organisations. This paper aims at investigating employees' experiences and competence development over time within graphic facilitation. The study followed three employees, first in a 2-day basic graphic facilitation course, then in follow-up interviews, eight months, and two years after completing the course. The empirical data were analysed based on a literature review conducted on long-term perspectives, focusing on three themes: 1. The graphic facilitation practice at individual, group, and organisational level; 2. Contextual knowledge and knowing about the participants; 3. Relation between objects, processes and competencies needed. The findings show that all three employees from different organisations continued to use graphic facilitation and found it valuable for giving new insights and overviews of processes and tasks. The methods aided in creating common ground and goals. The employees activated their contextual organisational knowledge to aid the process and found that being sensitive to various groups' needs and personal preferences were effective when applying the methods. Digital prototyping was extensively employed in the clothing industry during the Covid-19 pandemic. Digital Prototyping can optimise the level of accuracy, where the engineered fit will be close to the accurate fit. However, digital prototyping will not succeed without applications of the underlying theories of manual pattern development. This paper aims to critically review the traditional pattern drafting techniques, including ease allowances, and transfer that tacit knowledge to 2D CAD pattern developments. Five established pattern drafting methods for women's upper torso garments were selected and examined to check the reliability of body–to–pattern relationship. However, none of the techniques has accurate clothing fit, which implies that the current pattern drafting techniques do not explicitly consider the body-to-pattern relationship. Further, it was determined that traditional pattern drafting techniques could not directly translate to automated digital drafting. The world of work has changed dramatically in the past 20 years, and this has important implications for a variety of individual, group, and organizational phenomena. Two areas that may be particularly impacted by such changes are generations at work and intergenerational knowledge sharing. Unfortunately, conceptual approaches have not kept up with these changes in work and organizations. Therefore, the objectives of this paper are as follows: 1) review current thinking about intergenerational workplace knowledge sharing, 2) discuss the changing nature of work and its impact on knowledge sharing, 3) present a new intergenerational perspective on knowledge sharing, and 4) propose directions for future research and understanding of intergenerational workplace knowledge sharing. With the support of advanced information and communication technologies and open innovative design platforms, the emerging and blooming paradigm of mass personalization drives the process of engineering design to include knowledge with higher heterogeneity and more complex modalities. To this end, Multi-Modal Knowledge Graphs (MMKG), evolved from semantic networks and knowledge graphs, provide a powerful technology system for more effectively organizing and utilizing this knowledge. To understand the state-of-the-art of key aspects that enables MMKG, and recognize the potential challenges for forefront applications in engineering design, a literature review of MMKG-related publications is conducted. With selected 131 representative papers together with other 32 supplementary studies (up to 11/11/2023), this article summarizes the technical and practical efforts of multi-modal knowledge extraction, fusion technology, and specific applications in the engineering design process. Meantime, the challenges that MMKG faces and its foreseeable development potentials are discussed, which is hoped to provide a basis for the futuristic explorations and implementations of MMKG-enhanced availability and productivity in engineering design. Despite increasing scholarly focus on inter-city policy mobilities there has been insufficient emphasis on understanding the role of municipal institutional factors in enabling global policy translation. This paper argues that the value of knowledge management vehicles in city-to-city learning and 'knowledge-sharing enablers' deserves prominence. The author employs autoethnography as a method of qualitative inquiry, chronicling Durban's Municipal Institute of Learning's establishment, successes and challenges through changing institutional landscapes. In a context where rapid urbanisation has African planners looking to learn from other cities, the story offers both useful lessons in knowledge exchange practice and opportunities for critical scholarly reflection. This article considers the conception of transdisciplinarity as a knowledge distinct from disciplinary knowledge modes and especially drawing a distinction with interdisciplinarity. SINCE MEDIEVAL TIMES, the impact of sugar production and consumption on European social, cultural, and economic development has been huge. The introduction of sugar cultivation entailed knowledge transfer and new technological requirements, such as the manufacture of sugar pots used to crystallise sugar, which is often the only archaeological evidence of its production and consumption. Sicily was one of the major sugar producers in medieval and post-medieval times, and many studies based on written sources are devoted to this phenomenon. However, the archaeological evidence seems comparatively scarce. This paper reviews the contexts and materials already known in Sicily, as well as research conducted under the EU-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie SPotEU project. A typological classification based on sugar-pot shape and size is proposed here. The doctoral journey is a complex endeavour, and like any complex project, deserves to be managed accordingly. Agile Project Management has been used successfully by practitioners in the Software industry for the last two decades and recently is being adopted in other industries, including in Higher Education. Based on the author's personal experience, this autoethnographic paper discusses the situations in which a model based on Agile principles might be applied to doctoral research and thesis write-up and the ways in which it might make the process more predictable and successful. The model developed in this paper can be generalised at least in part to various types of doctoral programmes, where candidates and supervisors can benefit from risk reduction through incremental knowledge creation, continuous learning, and increased visibility into progress. This paper draws on the fund of regional knowledge about career guidance that comparative research has generated in the "global South". The goal of the paper is to add another voice to the challenge to the universalising language that characterises career guidance theory and practice, and to further highlight the serious attention that needs to be given to "localisms" and "particularisms" so that responses that are sensitive to context can emerge. While several authors make a case for attention to context, few explicitly link epistemological and ontological concerns to the issue of political power. In contrast, in this paper I argue that inductive theorising is more likely to not only generate relevant and useful knowledge and practices: it is also more likely to serve the interests of social justice. This paper traces the sociological roots of the 'knowledge turn' and a concept centrally identified with it, 'powerful knowledge', beginning with the work of Basil Bernstein which was subsequently elaborated in a wide range of contexts-of-use in the broad field of curriculum studies. In this paper, a theoretical framework for human capital development in Pentecostal Religious Organizations through knowledge sharing is provided. The framework conceptualizes that religious organizations should prioritize launching a knowledge management initiative and appointing a knowledge management team or manager to conduct a knowledge audit and design an appropriate knowledge management plan as explicated. Knowledge management is the process of creating, sharing, using, and managing the knowledge and information of an organization or group. It involves identifying, capturing, organizing, storing, and sharing knowledge and information in a way that allows individuals and teams to access and use it effectively to improve decision-making, problem-solving, and innovation. The knowledge management plan should focus on codifying tacit and explicit knowledge to ensure it can be easily accessed, understood and transferred, and should be connected to the organizational strategy for human capital development in community services by religious organizations. This paper assesses prospects for the relationship between educational studies and educational practice, with reference to the current institutional and policy context in England. Drawing on the sociology of educational knowledge and practice, it is argued that educational studies can be conceptualised in contrasting ways, by considering internal structures, external relations and how disciplinary problematics are defined, but also by how educational practice is portrayed. To develop the analysis, Bernstein's work on knowledge structures and academic and professional discourses is articulated with philosophical work that distinguishes between different conceptualisations of practice prevalent in the humanities and social sciences. This enables critical reflection on three arrangements of educational studies (the foundation disciplines, the new science, and the deliberative traditions) each with their own internal dynamic, socio-epistemic assumptions, relationship to policy, and implications for the future production of knowledge. This process of reflection is illustrated with reference to some recent developments in England that illuminate the current position of educational studies in relation to educational policy and practice. The Nuovo soggettario, the official Italian subject indexing system edited by the National Central Library of Florence, is made up of interactive components, the core of which is a general thesaurus and some rules of a conventional syntax for subject string construction. The Nuovo soggettario Thesaurus is in compliance with ISO 25964: 2011-2013, IFLA LRM, and FAIR principle (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability). Its open data are available in the Zthes, MARC21, and in SKOS formats and allow for interoperability with l library, archive, and museum databases. The Thesaurus's macrostructure is organized into four fundamental macro-categories, thirteen categories, and facets. The facets allow for the orderly development of hierarchies, thereby limiting polyhierarchies and promoting the grouping of homogenous concepts. This paper addresses the main features and peculiarities which have characterized the consistent development of this categorical structure and its effects on the syntactic sphere in a predominantly pre-coordinated usage context. Facets are widely encountered in information and knowledge organization, but there is much disparity in the use and understanding of concepts such as "facet," "facet analysis," and "faceted classification." The paper traces the history of these ideas and how they have been employed in different contexts. What may be termed the classical school of faceted classification is given some prominence, through the ideas of Ranganathan and the Classification Research Group, but other interpretations are also explored. Academic libraries worldwide provide knowledge management (KM) services to support university research activities, while some librarians are slowly implementing knowledge management practices. The paper examined librarians' perception of knowledge management in Nigerian university libraries and discovered that they perceived it positively. It also identified KM practices in Nigerian university libraries, such as brainstorming, knowledge sharing and mentoring. However, these practices were not recognized as KM practices and were not officially documented as such. Furthermore, the paper also revealed that the effects of KM on the professional development of academic librarians were positive. This paper is about the politics of policy knowledge production. It calls for spaces to be forged to allow teachers' voices to have centre stage in knowledge creation and production. Specifically, this paper discusses the need for alternative ways of conducting educational research so that power in research design is utilised as a capacity for change. First, the politics of knowledge production is explored. The second and most central task of this paper is to highlight the role that teachers' knowledge can play in shaping education policy through emancipatory research practices. Overall, this paper advocates that the time has arrived for a fresh look at teachers' participation in the production and validation of knowledge. Valuing teachers' embodied knowledge and the unique position teachers hold within the education system, this paper is a window on the present, and suggests the direction the conversation should take in order to move education policy beyond the endless accumulation of evidence towards impactful change. Building on previous studies, this paper addresses the geopolitics of knowledge circulation in an academic field known as sociolinguistics in France, showing firstly the common erasure of research produced in the Global South and in languages other than English, and secondly the need to decolonise entire fields of research, in which analytic frameworks are mostly produced in hegemonic Global centres. As part of this special issue, we ask how far concepts rooted in Southern or non-hegemonic experiences are marginalised, co-opted or reused in academic circles in the West in general and in France in particular. As a modest epistemological contribution, this paper then focuses on two concepts – sumak kawsay/buen vivir and translanguaging – looking at their archaeology and development and at how they circulate in these fields, both in Northern and Southern academic circles. Through exploring the implementation of a manager-coach training programme, built on a foundation of Chinese culture, in a Chinese education environment, this paper explores a predominantly non-directive coaching model and its positive impact on knowledge exchange and innovation. Whilst acknowledging the continued call from some quarters for the use of a directive approach to coaching in mainland China, this paper explores the positive relationship between the non-directive approach and the socialisation of knowledge amongst teachers. The article also sheds light on how the 'Coaching Dance' can facilitate movement towards a more non-directive approach to enhance knowledge exchange allowing Chinese managers to elicit a promotion-focus and positive career behaviours from coachees. The paper offers some evidence that a predominantly non-directive approach can positively impact knowledge exchange and socialisation when a multitiered approach to coaching is deployed in a Confucian environment. Physicists in academic institutions utilize a variety of resources and strategies to seek, find, and use scholarly information and news. Using a sample of physicists, researchers surveyed 182 students and faculty at seven Canadian university institutions to explore self-perceived success rates, resources consulted, databases used, and use of social media and citation management systems. To complement the survey, 11 follow up interviews/focus groups were completed with participants to further uncover information-seeking behaviors, choices, strategies, and feelings around keeping up to date with information needs. According to survey results, a minority of physicists (15.4%) acknowledged that they were successfully keeping up to date. However, a significant number of physicists (28.6%) indicated that they were unsuccessful and could do better in remaining current with information needs. Co-investigators, using qualitative analyses, identified four emergent themes: (1) There are "too many papers – and not enough time" to effectively search, evaluate and read scholarly papers of interest; (2) Staying up to date is important especially in competitive research areas; (3) Graduate students seek information differently than faculty and experienced researchers; and (4) The arXiv database is important to many physicists. Additional minor themes included physics-related publishing is constantly evolving; physicists use a variety of information-seeking behaviors; and, information-seeking methods can differ between physics subdisciplines. Knowledge is recognised as having more value when it is created and shared amongst stakeholders. Applying knowledge management principles can assist tourism organisations in achieving a competitive advantage. Importantly though, one-way, top-down transfer of knowledge, particularly in developing countries, can result in ignoring valuable local knowledge and compromise sustainable development objectives. Certainly, when considering the context of sustainable tourism, relying solely on more powerful stakeholders' knowledge inputs to make decisions can result in injustice and undermine sustainability values. Given the importance of justice principles to sustainable tourism, this study applies the concept of organisational justice with a focus on the three dimensions of distributive, procedural and interactional justice to examine local knowledge sharing in tourism development. To address issues of justice and fairness in the context of sustainable tourism development, this study proposes a safe space framework to facilitate knowledge sharing in a local context that is based on recognition of diversity in social patterns and embedding multiple forms and sources of knowledge. This conceptual paper contributes to the framing of justice principles with regards to local knowledge sharing and discusses practical implications for how different claims of justice by local actors can be addressed in sustainable tourism development. Although in recent years intangible assets are considered a basic factor of production, it is necessary to show that their mere possession will not always guarantee superior performance. Accordingly, based on the resource-based view of the firm and the intellectual capital-based view, this paper has a twofold purpose. First, it analyses the existing relationship between sustainable intangible capital and performance. Second, it analyses the role played by corporate social responsibility and strategic knowledge management as mediator capabilities in the relationship between sustainable intangible capital and performance. Three hypotheses are proposed and a quantitative methodology based on PLS on 120 Spanish hotels with three or more stars is used. The findings do not support the hypothesis that sustainable intangible capital directly influences hotel performance. However, the two mediating hypotheses are supported, showing that corporate social responsibility and strategic knowledge management act as mediators by creating the values, philosophy and necessary foundations for sustainable intangible capital to have a significant influence on hotel performance. The productivity of worker is crucial not only for company performance but also for sustainable development. In the context of knowledge-economy firms, leadership issues and knowledge resources capabilities are likely to enhance knowledge worker productivity. The purpose of this study is to design a preliminary conceptual analysis of spiritual leadership and knowledge explorative-exploitative on knowledge worker productivity. This study adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) through searching, analysing, and selecting research studies comprising a total of 1355 research papers. The literature was searched in digital scientific libraries and big indexing systems such as Web of Science and Scopus. This research essentially contributes to providing a conceptual/theoretical model of effective knowledge explorative-exploitative in the context of knowledge workers productivity. Several enabler factors such as spiritual leadership (vision, hope/faith, altruistic), knowledge explorative (socialization and internalization), knowledge exploitative (combination and externalization), and knowledge worker productivity (job outcome, problem-solving, work scheduling) were explored and explained. The research provides beneficial knowledge and strategy for managers/leaders on ways to initiate and develop a knowledge-sharing strategy to enhance employee's effectiveness through pursuing and maximizing leadership contributions. Knowledge Organization Systems (KOS) as networks of knowledge have the potential to inform AI operations. This paper explores natural language processing and machine learning in the context of KOS and Helping Interdisciplinary Vocabulary Engineering (HIVE) technology. The paper presents three use cases: HIVE and Historical Knowledge Networks, HIVE for Materials Science (HIVE-4-MAT), and Using HIVE to Enhance and Explore Medical Ontologies. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of librarians' trust on their knowledge sharing (KS) with regard to the role of organizational intelligence (OI) and organization-based self-esteem (OBSE) as the mediators. To do so, a theoretical model was designed and validated. To collect the data required for the study, a questionnaire was administered to a number of 212 librarians who were working in public libraries in Iran selected through stratified random sampling. For data analysis, the SMART PLS software was used. The results of the study showed that developing different types of trust in libraries through OI and OBSE increases KS. Moreover, among the factors under study, OBSE proved to have the greatest effect on the librarians' KS. KS in libraries is supported by a variety of plans and initiatives. This study highlighted a number of organizational factors for developing the librarians' KS. As such, library managers can make use of the librarians' ongoing KS behavior as an efficient policy to outperform competitors. This paper contributes to the research on organizational knowledge management by elaborating on the relationship between trust and KS in staff. To the authors' best knowledge, to date, no empirical study has been conducted on the role of trust in librarians' KS with regard to the effect of OI and OBSE. This paper aims to analyze the relationship between quality management, knowledge management, and innovative performance, and their impact on organizational performance in an emerging country. A sample of 349 Ecuadorian companies was surveyed between March and August 2017. Structural equation modeling was used for testing the theoretical hypothesis. Our study is one of the first attempts to explore the role of quality management for improving knowledge creation and innovation performance in emerging countries. Specifically, our results show which quality management practices are the most efficient for enhancing knowledge creation and innovation performance in an emerging country like Ecuador. Authentic participation involving jointly undertaken analysis of data and dissemination of findings is rarely evident in participatory research involving disabled people. This paper examines analysis and dissemination which offers greater participation, providing a theoretical underpinning for this approach. This conceptualization arises from ARCHES, a museum education and access research project involving over 200 disabled people and a systematic review undertaken as part of this project. A few studies, including ARCHES, have moved beyond traditional research analysis to recognize the evolving nature of the 'messy space' and how this may inform approaches to data and dissemination. This paper frames this space as the While of participation, a concept which emerged from the systematic literature review and from working within ARCHES. It explores how the While of participation is experienced in practice, in relation to analysis and dissemination. In particular it focuses upon its emergent nature. Within this project and occasionally elsewhere in the literature, data analysis and dissemination are not retrospective or separated activities, but arise as part of the ongoing participatory process, where immersion and dialogue are at the root of all knowledge development and sharing. In the ecosystem and network perspectives on innovation, cooperation between various actors is seen as essential to innovation. Because of several factors known to hinder cooperation, the literature has pointed out the need for knowledge brokerage functions. This paper investigates knowledge brokerage needs in building care robotics innovation ecosystems and networks in Finland. The research questions are as follows: What are macro-, meso- and micro-level brokerage needs, functions and roles in care robotics innovation ecosystems and networks, and what kinds of knowledge should be brokered at these different levels? The data were collected with multilevel interviews, including interviewees representing different interests and fields of expertise. Based on the results, there is a need for brokerage functions in emerging ecosystems and networks to create operational conditions, bring disparate actors together, manage innovation processes, create learning possibilities and share best practices. However, the brokerage needs to vary by level, indicating that the functions and roles of the brokers and brokered knowledge may be emphasized differently. At the macro level, system-level knowledge is needed, at the meso level, knowledge related to innovation process management and user knowledge is needed, and at the micro level, the need for experimental and tacit knowledge is highlighted. Buyer's clubs were first recognised during the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the 1980s and focussed on knowledge curation and distribution of treatments. In the past decade, there has been a resurgence of buyer's clubs, mostly focussed on hepatitis C treatment and PrEP. This paper aims to increase understanding of buyer's clubs and stimulate discussion on their role in achieving equitable access to medicines. Our proposed definition of a buyer's club is 'a community-led organisation or group which seeks to improve an individual's access to medication through knowledge sharing and/or distribution as its primary goal'. The logistical and relational infrastructures of buyer's clubs have been mapped out. Networks and communities are integral to buyer's clubs by facilitating practical aspects of buyer's clubs and creating a sense of community that serves as a foundation of trust. For a user to receive necessary medical support, doctors play a crucial role, yet, obtaining this support is difficult. Whilst buyer's clubs are estimated to have enabled thousands of people to access medicines, and they run the risk of perpetuating health inequities and injustices. The Republic of Kazakhstan ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Disabled People in January 2015 as part of a programme of 'Future without Barriers' and has sought to make the majority of its schools inclusive. This paper reports on progress towards inclusion and the challenges faced by a nation that is aspiring to develop as an independent nation whilst still utilising knowledge and capital from the former Soviet Union. An analysis of the country's 'readiness' for inclusive education is offered, using Hacking's 2010 concept of (2006; 1998a & b; 2010) 'making up people' and Mitchell's 'ablenationalism'. Ablenationalism is also used to explore how Kazakhstan's efforts to assert its own distinctive identity and culture affected the positioning of disabled children and adults within education and within society. We conclude with some considerations of the possibilities for the future rights of disabled children and for inclusion. This article focuses on the republic of Kazakhstan, which separated from the Soviet Union in 1991. The country has made significant efforts to introduce inclusive education over a short period of time and there has been some success. A major barrier to progress comes from the country's system of assessing and classifying disabled children. Teachers have found inclusive education challenging and many have expressed a preference for segregation. Parents faced enormous challenges in having their disabled children accepted in mainstream schools. However, by establishing parents' groups, they have been able to influence policy and practice and increase progress towards inclusive education. Recommendations made to the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, who commissioned this research, included adopting an international perspective to enable it to learn from other countries; incentives to schools to encourage greater inclusiveness and extended media campaigns to change attitudes towards disability. The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is using a Program alliance-based delivery model to achieve 75 level crossing removals by 2025. The systems and knowledge required have developed iteratively, as LXRP and its delivery partners have adjusted to lessons learned and responded to opportunities for improvement. This paper focuses on the knowledge management challenges faced to date on the LXRP 'client-side'. It presents a case study on emerging solutions to these challenges and examines several subtopics including systems, data types, data management practices and the differing data needs across diverse areas within engineering and associated disciplines. It also examines end of project record archiving issues in a major project alliance delivery model context, and how the needs of different project stakeholders may differ and create challenges for the project owner's representative. This paper explores the continued cultural consecration of narrow forms of knowledge and literate practice in senior Australian English curricula. Despite the prevalence of Personal Growth approaches to English throughout Australia in the latter decades of the Twentieth century, the analysis of curricula reveals a contradiction between stated goals of access and relevance and the impact they have on producing a hierarchical English curriculum. Bourdieu's work on fields of cultural production is employed to analyse the processes and power structures that define and explain how knowledge becomes available for study. The second part of this paper inquires into the range of discourses, practices and texts associated with 'youth literacies', those fluid, hybrid, diverse, and multiple ways that young people engage in the world using a wide array of digital, multimodal media, and how these might challenge consecrated forms of knowledge and knowing. The 'Learning Compass 2030' was released by the OECD in 2019 as their new policy framework for the compulsory schooling sector. This framework takes the bold step of asserting that access to disciplinary knowledge is central to schooling, putting it in stark contrast to previous OECD reports which have advocated instead for more generic skills and competencies. Drawing on Basil Bernstein's concept of the pedagogic device, this paper critiques the way the Learning Compass 2030 imagines disciplinary knowledge. It argues that while its inclusion offers an exciting possibility, the way that the Learning Compass 2030 continues to be governed by the instrumentalist logic of knowledge economy discourses prevalent in previous OECD documents means that disciplinary knowledge is constructed in a limited way. Instead of a tool which opens up new perspectives to students, the Learning Compass 2030 positions disciplinary knowledge almost exclusively as something which has an immediate and practical value in a marketised world. In taking this step, the Learning Compass denies the critical, transformative powers of disciplinary knowledge, thereby undercutting students' access to frameworks which will allow them to reimagine and ultimately better our society. For organisations utilising big data platforms, knowledge sharing helps spread contextualised information of data, increases efficiencies and reduces the cost of lost knowledge when employees leave. Query-Driven Knowledge Sharing Systems (QKSS) partially automate knowledge sharing in analytics teams by building context into data, enabling the reuse of complex queries. Although QKSS can improve knowledge sharing, encouraging reuse behaviour is a significant issue for adoption. This paper analyses the applicability of gamification for improving knowledge reuse in QKSS. In collaboration with a Sydney-based data analytics firm, we recruited professional data analysts to participate in an experiment. The recruited analysts were asked to complete Structured Query Language tasks using either the firm's QKSS platform or a gamified version which included a small number of gamified elements designed to increase the likelihood of query reuse. This paper analyzes how the trainer's effort to articulate the knowledge transmitted during the training sessions influences training success in restaurants. An empirical study was conducted using a sample of 114 managers and supervisors of multi-unit restaurant companies in the Canary Islands, and Structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed model. Results reveal that the trainer's effort to articulate knowledge has a positive and significant influence on training success, and this effort increases when the knowledge transmitted is new and specific, but not when it is complex. During the last three decades, profound changes have taken place in the organization and subordination of scientific and technological workforce in the automotive sector, in new forms of rent generation and corporate appropriation of knowledge that distinguish the restructuring of innovation systems in contemporary capitalism. This paper delves into the content and characteristics of these changes, focusing on the paradigmatic case of the scientific-technological city based in the Greater Detroit area. Using the case of the relation between Mexico and the United States, it argues that the global deployment of innovation systems in the auto industry occurs under regional patterns of uneven development where the US retains the bulk of scientific and technological activity, while Mexico has been assigned a subordinate role, excluded from the creation of knowledge, despite being an important auto manufacturer. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the underlying mechanism of the community climate on knowledge-sharing intention in virtual communities. Based on social cognitive theory, a theoretical model was developed and empirically tested using a web-based survey of 525 members from an online question and answer (Q&A) community in China. Results showed that knowledge-sharing self-efficacy and outcome expectation played a chain mediation role in the relationship between the community climate and knowledge-sharing intention. This study is among the first to examine whether and how community climate influences knowledge sharing. Our research findings unpack the mechanism of the community climate on knowledge-sharing intention, and provide practical insights on how to use community climate to facilitate users to share knowledge in online Q&A communities. In this study, it was aimed to examine the probability problems which were posed based on continuous sample space and discrete sample space. Participants of the study consisted of 48 university students selected by using the convenience sampling method. Eight tasks related to continuous and discrete variables were designed by the researcher. Eight problems posed by each student in accordance with these tasks, their reflection papers and interviews conducted with them constituted the data of the study. Problems were analysed according to appropriateness, solvability, context, applicability, language and variable type dimensions. Findings revealed that most solvable problems were in real-life context, applicable and had clear language. However, most of the unsolvable problems had missing information. Inappropriate problems either were not generated depending on the task instructions or suitable variables were not used in them. Students had difficulties particularly in posing continuous sample space problems. It was concluded that problem posing was an effective practice for students since it enhanced their knowledge about probability and helped them to gain insight into problem posing. Library directors are part of the infrastructure of information management, but how well do they manage their institutional knowledge for succession planning? Our study looked at strategies to ease managerial transitions between libraries, focusing on knowledge management, communities of practice, and mentorship. Our survey found that succession planning was dictated by local practice and size of library. The results of this paper inform knowledge of succession planning and reveal existing gaps between informal transfer of knowledge and structured knowledge management (KM), as well as librarians' resourcefulness. Mathematicians in academic institutions utilize a variety of resources and strategies to seek, find, and use scholarly information and news. Using a sample of mathematicians, researchers surveyed 112 students and faculty at four Canadian university institutions to explore self-perceived success rates, resources consulted, databases used, use of social media, and citation management systems. Further, 12 follow-up interviews were completed with mathematicians to better interpret survey results, resulting information-seeking behaviors, choices, strategies, and feelings on keeping up to date with information needs. According to survey results, a minority of mathematicians (12.5 percent) acknowledged that they were successfully keeping up to date. However, a significant number of mathematicians (28.6 percent) indicated that they were unsuccessful and could do better in remaining current with information needs. Co-investigators, using qualitative analyses, identified four emergent themes related to remaining current: (1) The "slower pace of math" pervades all aspects of this discipline;" (2) There are "too many papers – and not enough time" to effectively search, evaluate, and read scholarly papers of interest; (3) Mathematicians collectively acknowledge that they are open to strategies and technologies where they "could do better" keeping up to date; and (4) Mathematicians have divided loyalties using databases when searching for information by means of "MathSciNet in a Google world." Additional insights document how mathematicians are guided by mathematical peculiarities and discipline-specific practices. University-industry collaboration is increasing its significance due to the active role that society demand from universities. An entrepreneurial university requires understanding the different rationalities and asymmetries of university, researchers and industry in order to best encourage inter-organisational willingness to collaborate as well as to know the impact of their collaboration beyond the boundaries of their partnership. This paper presents an exploratory and conceptual framework providing propositions to gain a better understanding concerning the factors driving and hindering interactions and the willingness to collaborate between university-industry actors. In addition, this research discusses the relevance of the type of impact (economic, technological and societal) of this collaboration as agents of an eco-system accomplishing innovation goals. It concludes with theoretical, managerial and policy implications based on asymmetries on expectations, benefits, capabilities, norms and actors-agency. Such asymmetries affect the entrepreneurial predisposition to interact and strive to achieve societal desirable collaboration outcomes. A preliminary collective actions framework is proposed. Increasingly, it has been hard to ignore that standalone KOSs are becoming functionally ineffective components for knowledge-based AI systems, given their inability to capture the continuous facetization and drift of domains. The paper proposes a radical re-conceptualization of KOSs as a first step to solve such an inability, and proposes: (i) a first theoretical characterization of Knowledge Organization Ecosystems (KOEs), (ii) as a consequence of such a novel characterization, a first examination and characterization of KOEs as Socio-Technical Systems (STSs), and (iii) motivating KOEs to be STSs which are grounded in AI ethics cardinals.
