Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has seen rapid expansion in recent years, used in a variety of applications like tracking, monitoring, ticketing, supply-chain management, contactless payments, etc. Several researchers have recommended elliptical curve cryptography (ECC) as a great cryptosystem to pair with RFID technology to increase security and privacy. However, RFID systems have major problems with insecure communication routes, which pose security concerns. In this research, a DNA TRIKKY based security mechanism has been proposed for RFID protocol to mutually authenticate the RFID tag and reader through insecure channels. The proposed solution uses a sponge structure and DNA-XOR to enhance the hash function generation process, preventing sensitive data from being leaked from the backend server. Informal security evaluations provide proof that the proposed method can withstand many attacks. According to performance evaluation, the proposed method performs better than the current protocols, making it ideal for use with RFID systems since it necessitates less processing time, communication costs, and storage costs particularly for the tag. According to the results, the proposed authentication paradigm works well with RFID tags that have limited resources. Understanding consumers' intention of using contactless logistics technology is necessary for logistics service providers to make value-added business strategies in the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous studies have suggested that multiple factors shall be considered when investigating the intention, but few have attempted to comprehensively explain the causality of the intention. To bridge this gap, this study develops a Genetic Algorithm (GA)-based structure learning method and constructs a Copula-Bayesian Network (Copula-BN) upon questionnaire survey data to explore the causation of the intention. Based on the derived Copula-BN, we identify the key factors that contribute to the intention and reveal the causal relations along the main branch composed of those factors. Several findings provide theoretical and practical insights into the consumer-technology interaction under the pandemic context. Besides, this study demonstrates that the structure of the Copula-BN is rational and reasonable, which provides a solid basis for investigating the causality of the intention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

RFID (radio frequency identification) is a progressively adopted technology in today's automated world. Wireless technologies have enabled contactless payments, tracking, identifying, and many more features in a system that can be introduced to build a smart environment. This work overviews the usage of the IoT (Internet of Things) platform for tracking passengers and enabling online payments through wireless sensors and RFID technology in Chennai Suburban Railways. The tracking system consists of an RFID reader that can locate and track passive as well as mobile objects attached with passive RFID tags. The proposed system incorporates the installation of RFID readers at every entrance and exit of the railway station, and every passenger carries their own RFID tags. This not only enables online payments for passengers but also helps the government in tracking the crowd for demand monitoring. The new methodology creates a digital workspace and enforces lawful safety regulations both for the administration and the consumers. A prototype of the proposed system is implemented in real-time to understand the workings of the system. Data collection is done through RFID tags that act as transit cards and an analysis for consumer demand is done using the DBSCAN (Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise) algorithm with a Randomized KD-tree for the analysis of spatial and temporal patterns. Debates about the increase in digital payments during COVID-19 have primarily focused on behavioural change among consumers. Using India as a case study, this article documents how supply-side actors (political, economic, financial and technological) used the pandemic to generate a new public consensus about digital payments. The article argues that these actors framed the agenda to draw public attention on cash and digital payments during the COVID-19 pandemic, that this new consensus extended and deviated from narratives created during the Digital India (2015) and demonetisation (2016) debates, and that trade bodies and businesses unrelated to banking, finance and technology were active in setting this new agenda. Agenda-setting in the pandemic era continues to mould the payments trajectory in both India and elsewhere. In India, we argue, it has challenged aspects of cash that previously elicited trust: its materiality and associated social interaction. Since its outbreak, Covid-19 has led to upsurge in economic inactivity, leaving many households and firms without access to and use of basic services including financial services. Specifically, with the lockdown and curfew, most traditional bank branches remained closed, leaving households without access to quality, affordable, convenient, and safe financial services. This study aims to establish whether contactless digital financial innovation like mobile money can promote access to and use of financial services in the presence of pandemic positive emotions in low-income countries. SmartPLS 3.0 was used to construct the structural equation mediation model with bootstrap based on 2,737 valid responses. It was found that contactless digital financial innovation such as mobile money significantly promotes access to and use of financial services in low-income countries under pandemic situation. Additionally, the findings showed that the use of contactless digital financial innovation promotes Covid-19 standard operating procedures in low-income countries. Cognizant to the role of human behaviour in technology adoption and usage, the structural equation model with bootstrapping revealed a 4 percentage points improvement in Covid-19 standard operating procedures due to the use of contactless mobile money channel. Accordingly, the findings could be useful in the following ways: governments in low-income countries may use it to promote public health concern under pandemic situations. Mobile money can allow individuals to store, send, and receive money during situation of limited or no movements caused by pandemic health restrictions. Besides, the use of contactless digital financial innovation may promote digital commerce in low-income countries under the pandemic situation. Similarly, mobile money can be used to promote government-to-person, person-to-person, person-to-business, and business-to-person payments under emergency situations. This paper focuses on the EMV contactless payment cards and their vulnerability of leaking sensitive information such as the cardholder name, Primary Account Number (PAN), and the expiry date of the EMV card. Such data can be sniffed using off-the-shelf hardware or software without the knowledge of the genuine cardholder. The paper proposes a tokenization technique to replace the PAN of the actual EMV contactless card's with a token to protect the genuine data from being sniffed by an attacker and used in the Card-No-Present (CNP) attack or any other attacks. The proposal was inspired by the implementation of the tokenization in the EMV Mobile payment such as Apple, Google, and Samsung mobile payments. We argue that the proposed tokenization technique is easy to adopt and cost-effective to implement by EMV protocol as it does not require any changes to the infrastructure of existing payment systems. A vital feature of the proposal is that all the changes in the EMV protocol are at the personalization phase of the EMV card. The paper presents a successful implementation of the tokenization approach using a Java contactless card framework to represent EMV contactless cards to demonstrate its effectiveness in improving the security and protecting the privacy of the card's information. Advancing technology and increasing demand for contactless purchase methods have encouraged retailers to integrate technology into the point-of sale experience. However, limited research explores how consumers perceive contactless payment technology compared with traditional payment methods. Two experiments demonstrate that contactless payment methods, when compared with traditional, contact forms of payments such as cash and credit card transactions, are perceived as less contaminated. Additionally, consumers using contactless payment technology hold more favorable attitudes toward the retailer. Artificial intelligence (AI) contactless services thrived during the COVID-19 pandemic, while their consequences remained unclear. Based on media equation theory and means-end chain theory, this study proposed a model explaining the effect of AI contactless services on customers' psychological safety, perceived control, hedonic value, and service quality. Data were collected from hotel customers with an online panel survey and a site survey in Wuhan, China. Chi-square statistics indicated that there were no significant differences between the two datasets. A structural equation modeling analysis of the combined data (n=316) suggested that two dimensions of AI contactless services led to the examined customers' psychological safety, which in turn positively influenced their hedonic value and service quality but negatively affected their perceived control. Additionally, customer psychological safety was found to mediate certain relationships between contactless service attributes and perceived value. Contactless hospitality services are technology-enabled innovative services combating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Surveying 1,537 hotel guests, this study explores the relationships between customer experience, customer delight, customer equity, and brand trust in contactless hospitality services. A theoretical model is proposed to investigate the antecedents and consequences of customer equity. The moderating effect of health concerns lies on the path from customer equity to trust. A multi-group analysis was conducted to examine the invariance among proposed paths between two customer groups. Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, some hotels have introduced a new service model called contactless service. This paper unpacks this new hospitality landscape through a random sample of 510 valid responses collected at a smart hotel in Taiwan in June 2020 and discusses the emergent insights through Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). The findings revealed that (1) Sense experience (SE), feel experience (FE), and relate experience (RE) were all positively impacting information sharing (IS); (2) Sense experience (SE) and feel experience (FE) positively affected satisfaction (CS). The positive adjustment of the relationship between the sense experience (SE) and the related experience (RE) for information sharing (IS) is regulated by the outbreak event disruption (ED). Intelligence operation (IO) is a significant mediating effect among five-sense experiences, customer satisfaction, and information sharing. Contactless payments are being increasingly used with people demonstrating their interest in the payment technologyby waving or tapping their cards and devices at point-of-sale (POS) terminals across the world to make purchases. Eventhough the shift to contactless payments systems was already taking place before the COVID-19 outbreak, it is essential tostudy if the current crisis has accelerated this transformation. In this study, an online survey was used to examine the experience ofutilizing contactless payment technology in Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 outbreak. We also investigated the factors thatcould affect this experience. The results showed that positive experiences in utilizing contactless payment technology have increased after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the study showed that health safety and hygiene were the mainreasons for using contactless technology for payment during the coronavirus crisis, while the security of transactions was the mainconcern in not using it for payments. Near Field Communication (NFC) is gaining popularity in the hospitality industry, with NFC based mobile payment (MP) systems appearing to be the most promising application. This study provides a theoretical elaboration on the dimensions of perceived risks, and incorporates consumer self-efficacy and innovativeness as key predictors of behavioral intentions. Data analysis consisted of model validation through confirmatory factor analysis and testing the hypotheses with structural equation modeling. A consumers’ level of innovativeness and self-efficacy are found to predict intention to use.
