This paper describes a high-pulse-energy frequency-doubled ultraviolet dye laser operating at a repetition rate of 500 Hz. The pump source is a laser-diode side-pumped Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with a pulse energy of 29 mJ at 532 nm. A master oscillator power amplifier is employed to amplify the output pulse of the dye laser to 8.1 mJ at 566 nm, and by frequency doubling with BBO crystal a pulse energy of 1.7 mJ at 283 nm is achieved with a pulse width of 8 ns. This is more than four times the largest reported pulse energies generated by other fixed-frequency dye lasers when operating at repetition rates of more than 1 kHz. The conversion efficiency and stability of dye laser are discussed, which show the potential for high-speed laser diagnostics in the fields of combustion and turbulent flow detection. Protein-based nanocarriers with inherent biocompatibility have been widely served as building blocks to construct versatile therapeutic nanoplatforms. Herein, bovine serum albumin-iridium oxide nanoparticles (denoted BSA-IrO2 NPs) are successfully synthesized via one-step biomineralization approach. The BSA-IrO2 NPs exhibits uniform size (40 nm), superb biocompatibility and high drug loading capacity for doxorubicin (27.4 wt%). Under near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, the as-prepared BSA-IrO2 NPs exhibited high photothermal conversion ability (54.3%) and good photostability. The in vitro drug release experiments displayed pH and NIR laser -triggered DOX release profiles, which could enhance the therapeutic anticancer effect. By utilizing this DOX loaded nanoplatform, effective synergistic chemo-photothermal therapy against human osteosarcoma can be realized, which has been systematically verified both in vitro and in vivo. Notably, in vivo pharmacokinetics studies showed that BSA-IrO2@DOX had prolonged blood circulation time due to the BSA component can improve the stealthiness of the nanoparticles during the blood circulation. Meanwhile, in vitro and in vivo toxicity studies demonstrated that the BSA-IrO2 NPs can act as biocompatible agents for drug delivery and cancer therapy. The research discussed the application of planar laser-induced fluorescence technique for visualizing the flow over an airfoil at different Reynolds numbers and angles of attack. The proposed arrangement allows visualizing the development process of the flow field structure around the airfoil. The focus of the study is the influence of the angles of attack and the Reynolds number on the separation boundary layer, which causes the wake vortex or separation bubble. Compared with the traditional visualization technology, the technology of planar laser-induced fluorescence has better time resolution (50 ns) and followability (Reynolds number = 219,500). In order to achieve high-speed flow field visualization, planar laser-induced fluorescence provides a reliable means of measurement to solve the related engineering problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
