The article focuses on a study which monitors the behaviour and habitat use of cetacean and bottle nose dolphins. It says that the study used passive acoustic methods such as the self-contained acoustic data logger called The Timing Porpoise Detector (T-POD), wherein it documents the echolocation made by cetaceans. It states that there is a positive correlation between the seasonal pattern and surface water temperature, wherein the echolocation activity is indicative of foraging.
