The impact of self-regulated learning (SRL) on students' performance in various subjects has been extensively studied. However, there has been limited research on how task-specific SRL skills and self-reported SRL skills affect students' learning outcomes in chemistry classes at senior secondary schools. To address this gap, we examined the task-specific SRL skills, self-reported SRL skills, and learning outcomes of a group of Grade 10 students (n = 170) studying the topic: Changes of Charged Electrolyte Solutions. Data was collected through a self-report SRL skills survey, a task-specific SRL skills survey, and an achievement test, and a path analysis was conducted to explore the relationship and effects between SRL skills and learning outcomes. Our findings revealed a direct relationship between students' task-specific SRL skills and their chemistry achievement. The clustering analysis showed that a significant number of students had SRL skills at the middle level in chemistry learning. Additionally, students with different SRL levels performed differently at specific SRL phases and strategies. The aim of this study is to explore the detoxification and homoeostasis functions of salivary glands, and to look for possible target proteins of new drugs for tick prevention and treatment. Different concentrations of chlorpyrifos to deal with the semi-engorged female Haemaphysalis longicornis, through the DIA quantitative proteomics method to quantitatively determine of all the proteins in the salivary glands, and through a variety of the depth of the bioinformatics methods for protein analysis and function mining, explain the molecular mechanism of detoxification function of salivary glands. Quantitative information from 5 normal groups and 8 different treatment groups showed that a total of 3152 proteins were identified. The expression levels of these proteins changed with the chlorpyrifos different concentration and treatment times. However, after the overall analysis, it was found that after the action of chlorpyrifos, the proteins involved in detoxification, such as glutathione S-transferase and glutamine synthetase, the heat shock proteins involved in stress, and the acid sphingomyelinase involved in maintaining the body's homoeostasis had corresponding changes. We found and explained the functions of detoxification, stress, and homoeostasis of salivary glands. The regulatory strategies of proteins that played a key role in these functions were explored. 1. There are still no studies examining the relationship between body composition and tacrolimus pharmacokinetics in liver transplantation recipients. We aimed to investigate the influence of body composition on tacrolimus pharmacokinetics in liver transplantation recipients. 2. Body composition was measured in 80 patients who underwent liver transplantation at Tianjin First Central Hospital, China, between 2015 and 2018. Blood concentrations of tacrolimus were collected from therapeutic drug monitoring data. Pharmacokinetic model fitting and Bayesian estimation were performed using nonlinear mixed-effects modeling (NONMEM) and SPSS was used to examine the effect of body composition on tacrolimus pharmacokinetics. 3. The apparent volume of distribution (V/F) and clearance (CL/F) of tacrolimus were 179 L and 15.4 L/h, respectively. In liver transplantation recipients with percentage body fat (PBF) ≥ 30%, the apparent V/F of tacrolimus is lower than that in liver transplantation recipients with PBF < 30% at 1 week after liver transplantation. 4. The new finding is important due to the severe adverse effects of tacrolimus. In clinical practice, an effective dosage adjustment of tacrolimus may need to be considered in patients with PBF ≥ 30% at 1 week after liver transplantation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Long-term observation of the earth is essential for studying the factors affecting global environmental changes. Digital earth technology can facilitate the monitoring of global environmental change with its ability to process vast amounts of information. In this study, we map the forest cover change of Myanmar from 2000 to 2005 using a training data automation procedure and support vector machines algorithm. Our results show that Myanmar's forests have declined 0.68% annually over this six-year period. We validated our derived change results and found the overall accuracy to be greater than 88%. We also assessed forest loss from protected areas, areas close to roads, and areas subject to fire, which were most likely to lose forested area. The results revealed the main reasons for forest losses in some hotspots to be increased agricultural conversion, fire, and the construction of highways. A novel adsorbent of expanded graphite (EG) loaded with lanthanum oxide (EG-LaO) was prepared for phosphate removal from water and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The effects of impregnation time, La3+concentration, activation time, and activation temperature on the phosphate removal performance of the adsorbent were studied for optimization of preparation conditions. Isothermal adsorption studies suggested that the Langmuir model fits the experimental data well. Adsorption kinetics investigation showed that the pseudo-second-order model fits the experimental data quite well, indicating that the adsorption process is mainly a process of chemical adsorption, and chloride ions compete to react with the active sites of the adsorbent but do not prevent phosphate from adsorbing onto EG-LaO. The adsorption mechanism studies were performed by a pH dependence study of the adsorption amount. The results demonstrated that the probable mechanisms of phosphate adsorption on EG-LaO were electrostatic and Lewis acid–base interactions in addition to ion exchange. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Global change has a significant impact on the lives of humankind. Earth observation can help to better understand our earth and cope with global change. With the availability of more reliable environmental data sets, digital earth is becoming a popular way to monitor the Earth and provide information to researchers and decision makers on environment protection, disaster mitigation, and social benefits. Therefore, accessing data with lowering costs is essential for digital earth. Nevertheless, there are big challenges in ensuring the feasibility of access to Chinese remote sensing data. This paper outlines some of the main challenges in realizing data sharing, provides an analysis of the core reasons leading to these challenges, and proposes recommendations to overcome the challenges. Amongst the main challenges are differences in data policy to gain access to satellite data, diverse data formats, and delivery mechanisms. The major challenge for the decision makers is to define a more open policy and for the scientist the challenge is to implement these polices for the benefit of all. This paper proposes that governments should adopt policies encouraging more open distribution and access to their data, in order to generate an improved digital earth with increased benefits to human society. The compilation of global Landsat data-sets and the ever-lowering costs of computing now make it feasible to monitor the Earth's land cover at Landsat resolutions of 30 m. In this article, we describe the methods to create global products of forest cover and cover change at Landsat resolutions. Nevertheless, there are many challenges in ensuring the creation of high-quality products. And we propose various ways in which the challenges can be overcome. Among the challenges are the need for atmospheric correction, incorrect calibration coefficients in some of the data-sets, the different phenologies between compilations, the need for terrain correction, the lack of consistent reference data for training and accuracy assessment, and the need for highly automated characterization and change detection. We propose and evaluate the creation and use of surface reflectance products, improved selection of scenes to reduce phenological differences, terrain illumination correction, automated training selection, and the use of information extraction procedures robust to errors in training data along with several other issues. At several stages we use Moderate Resolution Spectroradiometer data and products to assist our analysis. A global working prototype product of forest cover and forest cover change is included.
