A new methodology using microwave extraction, gas-diffusion microextraction (GDME) and high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (HPLC-MS) was developed for the analysis of the quantitative detection of gaseous and solid benzotriazole (BTA) and the mass transfer behavior of BTA in volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) packaging. The best extraction conditions of BTA in the VCI films were obtained, and the vapor pressure of BTA in the VCI packaging was detected and characterized by a mathematical model using the new methodology. The migration content of BTA in the VCI films and the BTA content on the surface of the films were detected, and the diffusion coefficients at three temperatures were calculated. The vapor pressure and diffusion coefficients of BTA increased with increasing temperature, and the volatilization of BTA promoted the migration of BTA from the VCI films. Moreover, a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation was performed to determine the migration of the BTA molecules within the VCI films at three temperatures; the overall trend of the experimental values was the same and the simulated values were generally within two orders of magnitude of the corresponding experimental values, with the difference likely due to the ignoring of the crystallinity of LDPE. Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of neonatal death and disability. At present, there is no unified standard and specialized treatment method for neonatal HIE. In clinical practice, we have found that a gap remains between preclinical medical research and clinical application in the treatment of neonatal HIE. To promote an organic combination of preclinical research and clinical application, we propose the different phases as intervention targets, based on the pathophysiologic changes in phases I, II, and III of neonatal HIE; moreover, we suggest transformative medicine as a principle that may improve the therapeutic effect by blocking the progression of the disease to an irreversible stage. For instance, in phase I, mild hypothermia, free radical scavenger (erythropoietin, hydrogen-rich saline), excitatory amino acid receptor blocker, and neuroprotective agents should be administered to neonates with moderate/severe HIE; in phase II, following phase I treatment, anti-inflammatory agents, neuroprotective or nerve regeneration agents, and stem cell transplantation should be administered to patients; in phase III, anti-inflammatory agents, neuroprotective or nerve regeneration agents, and stem cell transplantation should be administered to patients. As soon as the patient's condition has stabilized, acupuncture, massage, and rehabilitation training should be performed. Following further study of stem cells, stem cell transplantation is expected to become the most promising therapeutic candidate for treatment of severe neonatal HIE with its sequelae. The land-atmosphere interaction processes are unique at Mt. Everest as a result of high elevation. Based on turbulent data collected from April 2005 to March 2006 with the eddy covariance method at Quzong in the Rongbu Valley on the northern slope of Mt. Everest, land-atmosphere energy budget before and after the southwest monsoon onset and surface layer turbulent characteristics are studied for the first time. It is found that energy budget components (net radiation flux, sensible heat flux, latent heat flux, and soil heat flux) and surface heating field have strong diurnal and seasonal variations. In particular, under the influence of the southwest monsoon, the characteristics of surface parameters can be clearly identified. From pre-monsoon to monsoon season, the sensible heat flux decreases whereas the latent heat flux increases. The latent heat flux and Evaporative Fraction at Quzong are relatively high most of the year. Furthermore, the intensity of heating source in the wet season (from June to August) is much greater than that in the dry season (from October to December). The relationship between normalized standard deviation of wind speed and atmospheric stability, variations of normalized standard deviation of temperature, and humidity with atmospheric stability are analyzed using the Monin-Obukhov similarity theory. The result reveals that the normalized standard deviation of velocity components of the three-dimensional wind speed follows similarity relationships in the convective and near-neutral surface layer, but does not seem to be valid in stable surface layer. However, the normalized standard deviation of temperature and humidity does not obey Monin-Obukhov similarity theory in the entire interval of atmospheric stratifications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Auricularia heimuer is one of the most popular edible fungi in China. It has high economic and medicinal value. The complete mitochondrial genome of A. heimuer is 40586 bp. It contains 48 genes, including 25 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, and 1 gene coding RNase P RNA. The G + C content is 37.92%. The phylogenetic relationships were constructed on the Bayesian inference method. It showed that A. heimuer was in distance to other species of Russulales, Polyporales, and Agaricales. The complete genome sequence of A. heimuer will provide a useful resource for the genetic and systematics studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
