In the academic year of 2019, the designed personalized learning and assessment was applied to the fourth-year pharmacy students who registered for the Pharmacognosy Laboratory in the Faculty of Pharmacy, Silpakorn University. We allowed all students to do the experiment as they preferred. We created a personalized assessment that allowed the students to select the method of assessment by themselves. The evaluations of this personalized learning and assessment were done by using the online questionnaires combined with the students' abilities shown in their reports, their results of the examination, and their contributions to the online reference, KUIHerbRx2017. The results showed that the students performed better with this personalized learning and assessment. The students could select the learning styles and the assessment method which suited them best. In this research work, a family of green solvents named deep eutectic solvents (DES) was used as asphaltene precipitation inhibitor for the first time as per our knowledge, i.e., choline chloride:monoethylene glycol acid (1:1). Ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectrometry was used to estimate the precipitation onset point of asphaltene and to evaluate the impact of the DES to increase their resistance against the precipitant effect. A microscopic method was used to monitor the agglomeration trend during titration. The distribution of asphaltene particles monitored by dynamic light scattering (DLS) showed a value of 1,419 nm for inhibitor-free sample, while for sample with the DES was 1,039 nm under similar conditions. The inhibition effects of several chemical additives on asphaltene precipitation were investigated by the microscopic method. The additives consist of a synthesized deep eutectic solvent (SDES), a commercial inhibitor, and three surfactants, namely lauric acid, octyl phenol, and dodecyl amine. The results showed the octyl phenol with 500 mg/L concentration is similar to commercial inhibitor and later SDES had the maximum effects on delaying the asphaltene precipitation onset point. The mean particle size of asphaltene using octyl phenol, SDES, lauric acid, and dodecyl amine decreased about 55%, 41%, 24%, and 18%, respectively, compared to the oil sample without any chemical additives. The aims of this study were (1) to evaluate the potential of image analysis measurements, in combination with the official analytical methods for the detection of constituents of animal origin in feedstuffs, to distinguish between poultry versus mammals; and (2) to identify possible markers that can be used in routine analysis. For this purpose, 14 mammal and seven poultry samples and a total of 1081 bone fragment lacunae were analysed by combining the microscopic methods with computer image analysis. The distribution of 30 different measured size and shape bone lacunae variables were studied both within and between the two zoological classes. In all cases a considerable overlap between classes meant that classification of individual lacunae was problematic, though a clear separation in the means did allow successful classification of samples on the basis of averages. The variables most useful for classification were those related to size, lacuna area for example. Measuring yarn diameter, yarn compressibility and their effect on fabric quality is important to both the fabric designer and the textile technologist. Measurement of yarn diameter is used to predict fabric structural parameters such as width and cover factor. In fact, a slight change in yarn diameter can result in a substantial change in the overall cover factor of fabric. Factors affecting yarn diameter are essentially those that affect yarn density or fibre compactness. Sixty-one different yarns (polyester, viscose, acrylic, cotton and wool) were tested to determine their real diameter by an experimental device. The obtained diameter values are close to those calculated by an established theoretical model. The determination of the real and apparent yarn diameter permits to estimate its packing fraction using his intrinsic parameters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
