This investigation is devoted to exhibit the thermal damage of skin tissue exposed to a moving heat source. Modelling of the problem is performed by adopting dual phase lag theory of bio heat transfer in context of memory dependent derivative. Laplace transform technique has been adopted to represent the analytical solutions of temperature and thermal damage of skin tissue. Thermal damages to the tissues are calculated by the extent of the denatured protein employing with the Arrhenius equation. In order to predict the significance of memory dependent derivative approach, computational results of temperature and thermal damage are evaluated in the frame of different kernel functions as well as time-delay. For the purpose of exhibiting the attractiveness of the present model, obtained results are compared with the results corresponding to the absence of memory dependent derivative. Also, the impact of the velocity of moving heat source has been precisely investigated on temperature variation and thermal damage of skin tissue using quantitative results. The primary focus of the present contribution is to develop a new system of differential equations describing the nonlocal thermoelasticity theory. The problem deals with the thermoelastic interaction in a nonhomogeneous thermoelastic layer induced by absorbing penetrating laser radiation throughout its volume. The heat conduction equation has been formulated in the context of memory dependent three-phase lag model. The surfaces of the layer are thermally insulated and free of traction. Employing the integral Laplace transform technique, the solutions of the field quantities have been achieved in the transformed domain. The corresponding solutions in the space–time domain have been derived using the numerical inversion of the Laplace transform by Riemann-sum approximation technique. The numerical estimates of the field quantities have been depicted graphically to address the effects of nonlocality and memory effects on the temperature profile, displacement and stress components. The main concern of this article is to deal with the thermoelastic interaction in a functionally graded thermoelastic rod being enlightened by the memory-dependent derivative. This article investigates the transient phenomena due to the influence of an induced magnetic field of constant intensity and due to the presence of a moving heat source of constant velocity in the context of three-phase lag model of generalized thermoelasticity. Employing the Laplace and the Fourier transforms as tool, the problem has been constructed in the transformed domain. The inversions of the Fourier transform have been carried out using residual calculus whereas the numerical inversions of the Laplace transform have been performed employing the Riemann sum approximation method. Numerical computations for stress, displacement, and temperature within the rod are carried out and have been demonstrated graphically. The results also demonstrate how the nonhomogeneity parameter and the speed of the moving heat source influence the thermophysical quantities. It is observed that the temperature, thermally induced displacement, and stress of the rod are found to decrease at large source speed. Keeping this in mind, the present analysis reports the effect of ultra-short-pulsed laser heating in coupled thermoelastic vibration of a microscale ribbon resonator. The heat transport law of the current problem is defined by incorporating the three-phase-lag heat transport law in the context of Caputo–Fabrizio (CF) derivative. Finite sinusoidal Fourier and Laplace transform techniques have been employed to determine the lateral vibration of the ribbon and the temperature increment within the microscale ribbon. The model of the equations of generalized thermoelasticity based on the Lord–Shulman's theory with nonlocal elasticity effect is used to study the photothermal waves in a semiconducting medium. The exact expressions for the displacement components, temperature, carrier density, and stress components are obtained by using normal mode analysis. This study proposes a computationally efficient approach about the dynamic response of a homogeneous, transversely isotropic, thermoelastic micro-beam resonator subjected to time-dependent thermal loading. Due to the shortcomings of power law distributions in fractional derivatives, the usage of some other forms of derivatives with few other kernel functions are proposed. With this motivation, the heat transport equation is defined in an integral form of a common derivative on a slipping interval by incorporating the three-phase-lag memory-dependent heat transfer which is modeled based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. The beam is assumed to be clamped-clamped conditions on its axial ends. Employing the Laplace transform technique, the analytical solutions have been obtained. Further, incorporating residual calculus, the inversion of the transformed solutions are performed. The analytical expressions for the deflection has been computed numerically for a Silicon micro-beam using Maple software. PIWI interacting RNAs (piRNAs) have emerged as important gene regulators in recent times. Since the release of our first version of piRNAQuest in 2014, lots of novel piRNAs have been annotated in different species other than human, mouse and rat. Such new developments in piRNA research have led us to develop an updated database piRNAQuest V.2. It consists of 92,77,689 piRNA entries for 25 new species of different phylum along with human, mouse and rat. Besides providing primary piRNA features which include their genomic location, with further information on piRNAs overlapping with repeat elements, pseudogenes and syntenic regions, etc., the novel features of this version includes (i) density based cluster prediction, (ii) piRNA expression profile across various healthy and disease systems and (iii) piRNA target prediction. The concept of density-based piRNA cluster identification is robust as it does not consider parametric distribution in its model. The piRNA expression profile for 21 disease systems including cancer have been hosted in addition to 32 tissue specific piRNA expression profile for various species. Further, the piRNA target prediction section includes both predicted and curated piRNA targets within eight disease systems and developmental stages of mouse testis. Further, users can visualize the piRNA-target duplex structure and the ping-pong signature pattern for all the ping-pong piRNA partners in different species. Overall, piRNAQuest V.2 is an updated user-friendly database which will serve as a useful resource to survey, search and retrieve information on piRNAs for multiple species. This article highlights on the study of coupled plasma, thermal and elastic waves within an orthotropic infinite semiconducting medium in context of photothermal transport process having a spherical cavity under two-temperature theory. The recent discovery of long non-coding RNA as a regulatory molecule in the cellular system has altered the concept of the functional aptitude of the genome. Since our publication of the first version of LncRBase in 2014, there has been an enormous increase in the number of annotated lncRNAs of multiple species other than Human and Mouse. LncRBase V.2 hosts information of 549,648 lncRNAs corresponding to six additional species besides Human and Mouse, viz. Rat, Fruitfly, Zebrafish, Chicken, Cow and C.elegans. It provides additional distinct features such as (i) Transcription Factor Binding Site (TFBS) in the lncRNA promoter region, (ii) sub-cellular localization pattern of lncRNAs (iii) lnc-pri-miRNAs (iv) Possible small open reading frames (sORFs) within lncRNA. (v) Manually curated information of interacting target molecules and disease association of lncRNA genes (vi) Distribution of lncRNAs across multiple tissues of all species. Moreover, we have hosted ClinicLSNP within LncRBase V.2. ClinicLSNP has a comprehensive catalogue of lncRNA variants present within breast, ovarian, and cervical cancer inferred from 561 RNA-Seq data corresponding to these cancers. Further, we have checked whether these lncRNA variants overlap with (i)Repeat elements,(ii)CGI, (iii)TFBS within lncRNA loci (iv)SNP localization in trait-associated Linkage Disequilibrium(LD) region, (v)predicted the potentially pathogenic variants and (vi)effect of SNP on lncRNA secondary structure. The present study is concerned with the reflection of magneto-thermoelastic plane waves from stress free and thermally insulated surface in a homogeneous isotropic thermally conducting elastic half-space medium. The modified Green–Lindsay (MGL) theory of generalized thermoelasticity has employed with two temperatures (2 T). The thermoelastic coupling effect creates two types of coupled longitudinal waves which are dispersive as well as exhibit attenuation. There exist also due to the thermoelastic coupling one independent vertically shear (SV-wave) wave. In contrast to the classical Green–Lindsay (GL) and Lord–Shulman (LS) theories of generalized thermoelasticity, the SV-wave is not only dispersive in nature but also experiences attenuation. Analytical expressions for the reflection coefficients and their respective energy ratios for reflected thermoelastic waves have been determined when the coupled longitudinal wave incident on the free surface. A numerical result on the reflection coefficients and their respective energy ratios for the specific parameter has been calculated. Various graphs have been plotted to analyze the behavior of these quantities. As a consequence, time unsteady analysis of this problem becomes necessary. The present study examines the effect of ultra-short-pulsed laser heating in the problem of coupled thermoelastic vibration of a microscale beam resonator. Due to the shortcomings of power law distributions in fractional derivatives, the usage of some other forms of derivatives with some other kernel functions is proposed. With this motivation, the heat transport equation is defined in an integral form of a common derivative on a slipping interval by incorporating the three-phase-lag memory-dependent heat transfer. Finite sinusoidal Fourier and Laplace transform techniques are then employed to determine the lateral vibration of the beam and the temperature increment within the medium. According to the graphical representations corresponding to the numerical results, conclusions about the new theory are drawn. The main idea of the present work is to extend Eringen's theory of nonlocal elasticity to generalized thermoelasticity with dual-phase-lag and voids. Then we study the propagation of time harmonic plane waves in an infinite nonlocal dual-phase-lag thermoelastic medium with voids. Three sets of coupled dilatational waves and an independent transverse wave may travel with distinct speeds through the medium. All these waves are found to be dispersive in nature. The coupled dilatational waves are damping, while the transverse wave is undamped in a certain range of the angular frequency. Coupled dilatational waves are found to be influenced by the presence of voids, thermal field and elastic nonlocal parameter, while the transverse wave is found to be influenced by the nonlocal parameter, but independent of void and thermal parameters. For a particular model, the effects of angular frequency, elastic nonlocality parameter, and some voids and thermal parameters on the wave speeds and damping coefficients of all the propagating waves have been studied numerically. Some comparisons are made between the results obtained for local and nonlocal cases. All the computed results have been depicted graphically and explained in details. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent years, marine natural pigments have emerged as a powerful alternative in the various fields of food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries because of their excellent biocompatibility, bioavailability, safety, and stability. Marine organisms are recognized as a rich source of natural pigments such as chlorophylls, carotenoids, and phycobiliproteins. Numerous studies have shown that marine natural pigments have considerable medicinal potential and promising applications in human health. In this review, we summarize the marine natural pigments as potential sources for therapeutic applications, including: antioxidant, anticancer, antiangiogenic, anti-obesity, antiinflammatory activities, drug delivery, photothermal therapy (PTT), photodynamic therapy (PDT), photoacoustic imaging (PAI), and wound healing.
