In inclusive education, Disability Studies is a framework that has been useful for identifying gaps in theory, in practice and the spaces in between. Disability Studies in Education also provides new spaces in which to manoeuvre, re-framing theory, reflecting on and (potentially) shifting practice in classrooms, schools, and national policies and guidelines. In this paper three teacher educators and a school principal describe their work in undergraduate and graduate teacher education, both initial teacher education and in-service professional development. We describe the genesis of our theorising in an ongoing project developing and disseminating a sociocultural approach to assessment, Narrative Assessment. We continue to learn about curriculum, pedagogy and assessment in this project. These learnings inform our theory and practice of teacher education for inclusive education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Triassic strata of the Economy Member of the Wolfville Formation (Newark Supergroup) exposed along the shorelines in Colchester County, Nova Scotia, have yielded an assemblage of continental tetrapods that is clearly different from other Triassic tetrapod communities in eastern North America, including the Late Triassic (Carnian) one from the overlying Evangeline Member of the Wolfville Formation. Although dissociated and fragmentary, the skeletal elements document the presence of a lonchorhynchine trematosaurid and at least two taxa of capitosauroid temnospondyls, procolophonid parareptiles, several taxa of archosauromorph reptiles, and a kannemeyeriiform dicynodont synapsid. Particularly noteworthy is the first definite record of the long-necked archosauromorph Tanystropheus from eastern North America. The strata of the Economy Member were deposited in a semiarid setting but the presence of various temnospondyls indicates the existence of perennial bodies of water. The age of this unit has long been regarded as Middle Triassic (Anisian to Ladinian) based on the tetrapod record, and the present study supports this assessment. The tetrapod assemblage most closely resembles those from the upper Moenkopi Formation of the American Southwest and the upper Middle to Upper Buntsandstein of Germany. The Economy Member is the oldest known Triassic tetrapod-bearing stratigraphic unit as well as the first occurrence of Middle Triassic continental tetrapods in eastern North America. Objective. Fecal calprotectin (FC) has been proposed as a selection tool for gastrointestinal examinations, but the use of FC in the diagnosis of small bowel disease in particular is less studied. The aim of this study was to assess if FC could be used to predict findings on small bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE). Material and methods. We retrospectively collected FC values, SBCE findings and clinical data in 161 patients with suspected small bowel disease referred for SBCE. Findings on SBCE were correlated with FC levels and the diagnostic value of FC was assessed. Results. Of the 161 patients, 37.3% had a positive FC and 29.8% had a finding on SBCE. Overall there was a significant difference in FC values between patients with any finding on SBCE and patients with a normal SBCE, but patients with ulcers/erosions was the only subgroup of patients with FC values significantly higher than patients with a normal SBCE. The proportion of patients with findings on SBCE increased with increasing FC value. A positive FC (≥50 mg/kg) had a sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of 54.2%, 69.9%, 43.3% and 78.2%, respectively, for predicting findings on SBCE. Conclusions. FC alone cannot be used as a selection tool for SBCE in patients with suspected small bowel disease in a specialist setting. However, a high FC value implies a higher probability of finding significant pathology on SBCE, and thus strengthens the indication for performing the examination. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
