Photosynthetic bacteria (PSB) can be used in wastewater treatment to simultaneously remove pollutants and produce valuable biomass. In this study, PSB were used to treat lactic acid wastewater and produce high-value substances (protein, carotenoid and bacteriochlorophyll). The results showed that the PSB biomass increase, COD and NH 4 + - N removal reached 55%, 89% and 94% in 5 days, respectively. The protein content, carotenoid and bacteriochlorophyll concentrations reached 69.1%, 2.3 and 0.8 mg/L, respectively. Furthermore, kinetic analysis showed that both NH 4 + - N removal and protein content fitted the Boltzmann equation, and the NH 4 + - N removal was positively related with the content of protein and concentration of pigments. This novel wastewater treatment method can adapt to the changes of light-oxygen condition, F/M and pH conditions. Up to 90% of the human genome is transcribed into Long-noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) that longer than 200 nucleotides but do not code for proteins. LncRNAs play a vital role in a broad range of biological process, it's dysregulations and mutations are linked to the development and progression of various complex human diseases. Given the dramatic changes and growing scientific outputs in lncRNAs field, using a quantitative measurement to analyze and characterize the existing studies has become imperative.Bibliometric analysis is a widely used tool to assess the academic influence of a publication or a country in a specific field. However, a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most-cited papers in lncRNAs area has not been conducted. Thus, we executed a bibliometric study to identify the authors, journals, countries and institutions that contributed most to the top 100 lncRNAs list, characterize the key words and focus of top 100 most-cited papers, and detect the factors related to their successful citation. This study provides a comprehensive list of the most influential papers on lncRNAs research and demonstrates the important advances in this field, which might be benefit to researchers in their paper publication and scientific cooperation. Photosynthetic bacteria (PSB) show a strong potential to degrade pollutants and meanwhile produce valuable biomass, thus realising both wastewater treatment and nutrient recovery. This paper detailed the study of nitrogen distribution forms, biokinetics and transformation during PSB wastewater treatment. The results showed that the total nitrogen (TN) and ammonium (NH4+) removal reached 90.5% and 95.3%, respectively. The nitrogen removal and biomass production fit a quadratic and a cubic regression equation with an R2 of 0.9793 and 0.9730, respectively. Mass balance showed that the influent nitrogen was transformed into valuable PSB cells (63.2%), gaseous N2 (26.9%) and residual NH4+, nitrate (NO3−) and organic nitrogen in the effluent (8.9%). Background: Previously we reported on severe vitamin D deficiency in a large-scale cohort in the Tangshan area in northern China. However, whether vitamin D deficiency is associated with cardiovascular risk factors has not been systematically examined in the cohort.Objective: We aimed to determine the correlation between serum vitamin D status and lipid levels in circulation via an observational study.Methods: Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) was measured. Based on the measurement subjects were classified into quintiles. Dyslipidemia was defined as having one of the following: elevated serum total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides or decreased HDL cholesterol, under lipid-control treatment.Results: The study was conducted in a total of 3788 adults in northern China during their routine health examinations. When the highest quintile of the 25(OH)D level was set as reference, the risk of having dyslipidemia increased progressively across the highest to the lowest 25(OH)D with ORs of 1 (reference), 1.232 (95% CI, 1.005-1.509), 1.235 (95% CI, 1.007-1.513), 1.403 (95% CI, 1.143-1.735) and 1.494 (95% CI, 1.217-1.833), respectively (Ptrend < .0001) after adjustment for age. This trend was unchanged after further adjustment for several potential confounders. In linear regression analysis, we found an inverse significant correlation between 25(OH)D and triglycerides (β coefficient = -0.077, p < .05) and LDL cholesterol (β coefficient = -0.245, p < .05), and positive correlation with HDL cholesterol (β coefficient = 0.038, p = .018).Conclusion: Vitamin D deficiency is found to be associated with dyslipidemia in a cohort of 3788 subjects. Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of renal artery stent combined with optimal medical therapy as treatment for renal artery stenosis. Research design and methods:A prospective cohort study was conducted. Patients with severe atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis received percutaneous renal artery stent because of poorly controlled hypertension or preservation of renal function. The patients also received optimal medical therapy to achieve the blood pressure, lipid and blood glucose targets. Main outcome measures:All patients underwent a 12 month follow-up to observe the effect of the procedure on blood pressure control, number of antihypertensive medications and creatinine level. Results:Stents were placed in 185 renal arteries of 149 patients. Mean stenosis was 83.1 ± 7.0%. The success rate of renal artery stent was 99.3%. At 12 months, estimated glomerular filtration rate increased significantly compared with baseline (84.1 ± 28.8 vs. 76.5 ± 22.50 ml/min ×1.73 m2,p < 0.05). Both office blood pressure and 24 hour blood pressure significantly decreased compared with baseline (from 153/83 mmHg to 134/73 mmHg and from 143/80 mmHg to 124/69 mmHg, respectively;p < 0.05), and less antihypertensive medication was taken compared with baseline (1.5 ± 0.8 vs. 2.2 ± 0.9;p < 0.05). Conclusions:Renal artery stent combined with optimal medical therapy as a treatment has a beneficial effect on blood pressure control and estimated glomerular filtration rate in selected patients with atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis. Three coordination polymers, {[Ag2(R-PHBU)(S-PHBU)(bpp)2]·H2O}n(1, racemic), {[Ag2(R-PHSU)0.5(S-PHSU)0.5(bpp)2]·2H2O}n(2, racemic), and {[Ag2(CHDA)(bpp)2]·9H2O}n(3, homochiral) (HPHBU = 2-phenylbutyric acid, H2PHSU = 2-phenylsuccinic acid, H2CHDA = 1,1-cyclohexanediacetic acid, bpp = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane), have been synthesized by solution reactions of Ag(I) with bpp andrac-PHBU?,rac-PHSU2?, or CHDA2?. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that all three complexes feature “AgAg” subunits extended by bpp ligands in two-dimensional (2-D)cation layers, which are embedded by the PHBU?, PHSU2?, or CHDA2?ligands of different lengths. Adjacent 2-D layers with pillar-shaped fillers are mutually interdigitated to 3-D H-bonded supramolecular coordination polymers with 1-D pores. As the length of the pillar-shaped fillers increases from 5.6, 6.4 to 7.3 Å, the dimensions of the pores range from 5.0 × 3.7 Å (narrow slit), 8.7 × 5.6 Å (elliptical) to 13.4 × 6.8 Å (quadrangular), and the solvent-accessible void volumes range from 3.6, 31.8 to 36.4% of the crystal volumes. The 1-D pores are filled with guest water molecules. The guest water molecules in1are discrete. Centrosymmetric water tapes and chiral right-handed21helical water tapes are observed in2and3, respectively. Thermal and photoluminescent properties, as well as lead(II) adsorption, are also discussed. Two racemic and one homochiral 3-D H-bonded supramolecular frameworks constructed from the mutually interdigitated 2-D motifs, showing interesting pore structures and properties, have been synthesized by the solution reactions of Ag(I) with bpp and three carboxylates of different lengths.
