French aircraft manufacturer Airbus let loose a very public torrent in response to an order by Air India (A-I) for 20 Boeing 787 and 23 777 aircrafts, embarrassing Indian political leaders, who tried to ensure that the reaction did not impact the pending purchase of French nuclear technology. Airbus accused A-I of tampering with its tender to suit Boeing's bid, an allegation denied by the airlines officials and the Ministry of Aviation.
