The steel slag is not widely or extensively used because of its poor volume stability and low cementitious activity. In this paper, the solid waste fly ash, quicklime and slag discharged from iron and steel enterprises are used as conditioning components in the experiment. In order to improve the cementitious activity and volume stability of steel slag, the high temperature reconstruction experiment of steel slag was completed. The effects of C/S (2.50~3.14), S/A (4.5~17. 81) on the cementitious activity and volume stability of reconstructed steel slag were investigated by means of the tests of compressive strength, scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, lithofacies test, stability test and so on. The results showed that the cementitious activity and volume stability of the reconstructed steel slag were improved in the higher C/S or lower S/A. The cementitious activity and volume stability of the reconstructed steel slag were improved with the increase of CaF2 content. By analyzing the cementitious activity and volume stability of the reconstructed steel slag, the optimum technological parameters are obtained as follows: C/S is 2.70 , S/A is 5.78, the content of CaF2 is 4%.

The microstructure and mechanical responses of the AZ31 with the addition of 1.8% Sn alloys have been studied and compared. Mg alloy sheets were prepared with metal model casting method and subsequent processes by conventional extrusion (CE) and differential speed extrusion (DSE). Mg alloys were hot extruded at 400oC with the extrusion ratio of 101:1. The microstructure of Mg alloy sheets was examined by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results indicated that the grains were dynamically recrystallized after the extrusion process. Moreover, DSE process dramatically enhanced the room temperature ductility of the extruded sheets. It was also presented that the Mg alloy processed by DSE exhibite a classical dimple structure as a result of slip accumulation and ductile tear.

The narrow particle size distribution of poly (vinyl silicone) microspheres were prepared by the hydrolysis-polycondensation method with vinyl silane (VTMS) as raw materials. And the influences of pH value, oil/water ratio on the morphology, particle size and distribution of the microspheres were studied. The results shows that the particle size of microspheres decrease with the increasing of the PH value of polymerization, and the particle size has no specific linear relationship with the PH value of hydrolysis reaction, while the oil-water ratio is smaller, single particle size distribution is more narrow, more uniform distribution.

In this study, the effect of surface structure of nanoCaCO3/limestone powder composite particles (NC/LS) on the hydration products of cement at early age is investigated. The surface structure of NC/LS is observed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and compared with original limestone powders. X-ray diffraction (XRD) is used to investigate the types of hydration products and calculate the Ca (OH)2 (CH) particle size and crystal orientation degree. Additionally, FE-SEM and atomic force microscopy (AFM) are applied to observe the particle size, shape and distribution of hydration products. The results reveal that the nanoCaCO3 particles are distributed throughout the surface of limestone powders, and therefore successfully formed NC/LS. Secondly, the particle size, morphology and distribution of the cement hydration products are affected by the surface structure of NC/LS, so the microstructure of hardened cement paste at early age is enhanced.

The lithium ion-sieve precursor was prepared with LiOH and Mn (CH3COO)2 as the starting reagents, H2O2 as the oxidant and ethanol solution (volume percent 2.5%) as solution by combination of sol-gel, hydrothermal and low-temperature solid state methods, and then changed into lithium ion-sieve after eluting Li+ by the mixture of HCl and Na2S2O8 solution. The influence of synthetic conditions on the structures and adsorption properties of lithium ion-sieve was investigated in detail. The results suggest that the pure phase lithium ion-sieve can be synthesized when Li/Mn molar ratio is 3/1, 3.2mL H2O2 is added after LiOH and Mn (CH3COO)2 react for 36h and the heat treatment way of programmed temperature from 410°C (2h) to 510°C (3h) is adopted in the progress of solid state reaction. The loss rate of dissolved Mn is less than 2.5% during pickling Li+. And the highest adsorption capacity can achieve 20.5mg/g.

AZ31 magnesium alloy and its alloy with 5% lithium were extruded to 1mm in thickness sheets at 380 oC with extrusion ratio of 101. Microstructure evolution and mechanical behavior of the extruded Mg alloy sheets were examined. The microstructure and texture evolution were investigate by electronic backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Mechanical performance was carried out by tensile tests at room temperature. In addition, the evolution of neutral layer and microstructure was also examined by V-bending. It was found that Li addition resulted in the strong divergence of the grain orientation. (0002) basal texture of AZ31 alloy sheets with 5% lithium has been weakened. The room temperature ductility of these textural sheets was enhanced owing to the tilted weak basal texture. Moreover, it exhibits superior ductility during V-bending process at room temperature.

After 5% lithium was added to AZ31 magnesium alloy, the alloy was extruded at 380oC with the extrusion ratio of 101. Mechanical responses and microstructure evolution were investigated. The microstructure and texture evolution were examined by electronic backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Tensile tests in the tensile directions of 0o, 45oand 90owere carried out at room temperature. Lithium addition brought about the strong divergence of the grain orientation and triggered the spread of the (0002) basal texture. The room temperature ductility of the extruded Mg alloy sheets was improved due to the tilted weak basal texture.

In the present work, the influence of Al-Sr and Mg-Sr master alloys on the as-cast microstructure of the AZ31 magnesium alloy was investigated,and the refinement efficiencies of both master alloys were also analyzed and compared. The research results indicate that both the Al-Sr and Mg-Sr master alloys have obvious refinement effect on the as-cast microstructure of the AZ31 magnesium alloy, and the refinement efficiency of the Mg-Sr master alloys was better than that of the Al-Sr master alloys. The mechanisms for the differences of grain refinement efficiency between Al-Sr and Mg-Sr master alloys on the AZ31 magnesium alloys were also discussed.

For the multisensor time-invariant system with both the uncertainties noise variances and parameters, by introducing a fictitious white noise to compensate the uncertain parameters, based on the minimax robust estimation principle and the Lyapunov equation method, a robust weighted measurement fusion Kalman filter is presented. It is proved that for prescribed upper bound variance of fictitious noise, there exists a sufficiently small robust region of uncertain parameter perturbances, such that its actual filtering error variances are guaranteed to have a conservative upper bound. A simulation example shows how to search the robust region, and shows its good performances.

The thermoeconomic optimization for ferroelectric Ericsson refrigeration-cycle is reported. The cooling load for the refrigerator per unit total cost is proposed as objective functions for the optimization. The optimum performance parameters which maximize the objective functions are investigated. Since the optimization technique consists of both investment and energy consumption costs, the obtained results are more general and realistic.

The economic growth of National level Economic and Technological Development Zones (NETDZs) affects the sustainable development of NETDZs and their host cities a lot in China. Determinants and mechanism of NETDZs’ economic growth in 2010 is detected by geographical detector. There is a U-shaped spatial pattern by NETDZs’ economic growth rates among the Eastern, Central and Western China. The result of factor detection showed that the top 5 determinants of NETDZs’ economic growth are regionally different in China. External factors are more powerful in Eastern China, while internal factors of NETEZs dominate the economic growth of NETDZs more in Central and Western China. Besides revealing determinants, these results show two universal policy mistakes: blindly lowing land price and encouraging high technology industry, which are proved not effective in prompting the development of NETDZs, but inducing serious problems. Therefore, NETDZs’ economic growth policies should be made and adjusted following the regional determinants and mechanism in different regions and development stages, what’s more, policy mistakes reflected by factor detection should be avoided as well.

The transparent epoxy molding compound (EMC) for integrated circuits (IC) packaging was prepared by using tetrahydromethyl-1,3-isobenzofurandione as curing agent, respectively using 2-methyl imidazole and triphenyl phosphine as curing accelerator. The effect of curing accelerator type on curing behavior of EMC was investigated by non-isothermal DSC method in this paper. Based on Kissinger method, Crane method and Ozawa method, the kinetic parameters such as activation energy and reaction order of the curing reaction were obtained. The characteristic temperatures of the curing process such as gel temperature, curing temperature and post-curing temperature were calculated by extrapolation. The results showed that EMC with 2-methyl imidazole had a lower activation energy compared to EMC with triphenyl phosphine, which provided the basic data for the optimal recipe of EMC and the determination of IC packaging technologies.

The organosilicone gel material for large-power LED packaging was prepared through Si-H addition reaction of hydrogen-silicone with vinyl-silicone catalyzed by Pt coordination compound in the paper. The effect of Si-H/C=C ratio on thermal stability, shore hardness, visible light transmittance and tensile properties were investigated by FTIR, UV-vis spectrometer, etc., which supplied the basic data for the preparation and application of organosilicone materials for large-power LED packaging.

With the development of the internet and the increase in people’s consumption level, online shopping has become increasingly popular with the boom in the online shopping having contributed directly to the rapid development of the whole express industry, which is now experiencing the surge in the business to make the number of the packing bags consumed in the express industry increased at a geometric rate. However at present, the following situations have occurred in Chinese logistical packaging industry: (1) excessive packaging and repeated packaging; (2) the environmental pollution caused by the packing material; (3) the low cyclic utilization rate of the packaging.

The aim of the work was to analysis effects of biogas residue continuous application on soil fertility improvment. The results showed that biogas residue addtion to peach orchard improved soil quality. Biogas residue application reduced soil bulk density quickly in a short term, improved soil TP, effctive N and available P contents significantly, as well as promoted soil TOC and humus acid accumulations to imoprove soil fertility. The results provide technical support for biogas utilization.

The glutinous rice-lime mortar (M_GRL) is a high performance organic-inorganic composite, which has been commonly used as a building material since ancient times in China. However, the knowledge of nonlinear structure of M_GRL is limited. In this work, the nonlinear structure of traditional M_GRL was investigated. The particle size distribution (PSD) of fine and micro-aggregate were evaluated by fuzzy fractal set. The microstructure of M_GRL were tested by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) analysis. Results shown that the structure of M_GRL is a fuzzy fractal system. And the fuzzy fractal dimension of the system is correlated to the fracture resistance of M_GRL.

Glutinous rice porridge is widely used to mortar formulations in ancient China, and it is significant to understand the interaction between amylopectin and cement pastes. X-ray diffraction analysis, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) analysis and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis are used to investigate hydration products in the cement pastes modified by amylopectin in this article. The results show that the hydration products in modified cement pastes were same with those in the unmodified cement paste. However, the growth of hydration products, such as calcium hydroxide (CH), calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) and entringite (AFt), are strongly influenced by amylopectin in glutinous rice. And the heavily branched structure of amylopectin is the crucial parameter for the specific control of the size and morphology of hydration products.

Using fuzzy mater-element method, the comprehensive utilization efficiency of rain-flood resources in Rushan River is assessed. The uncertainty of the comprehensive utilization efficiency is processed by the fuzzy principle. Then the representative indexes are selected, and the standard values of indexes are indicated. After normalization, the close degree and weight coefficient are calculated. On basis of that, the rating membership of the comprehensive utilization efficiency is for grade II, equal “good”. So the paper concludes that the utilization of rain-flood resources in Rushan River Basin is feasible and effective. It provides follow-up support for the research of the utilization of rain-flood resources.

Structural study of the soil is an important research content of soil mechanics. Based on the previous research results of soil structure, this paper puts forward the Gunary Model as a completely new form to describe the stress-strain relationship of soil, to discuss the method to determine soil strain considering structural parameter under the new model, to give the relevant function of the stress controlling structural parameter with stress. The results show that the Gunary Model is applicable to characterize the stress-strain relationship of soil, the parameter controls the fitting accuracy and decides the curve shape; by using the stress-strain expression of the Gunary Model, this paper finds the calculated value of stress controlling structural parameter and stress meets the two-parameter linear reciprocal function form.

In this study, sludge reduction by ultrasound combining anaerobic-anoxic-oxic system (AAO) was developed and examined. Compared with AAO process, 38.07, 46.07 and 50.98% of excess sludge reduction could be obtained by ultrasonic combining AAO system (sludge return ratios of 40%, 60%, and 80%). When the sludge return ratio is 60%, ultrasound combining AAO system can achieve the best sludge reduction effect. Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal rates of ultrasound combining AAO system were 88.21, 89.77, and 90.31%, respectively. The introduction of sludge disruption by ultrasound pretreatment did not affect the COD removal ability of the AAO system, whereas increased in the COD removal efficiency. This combined biological treatment system could realize sludge reduction and improve nutrient removal efficiencies.

Silver nanoparticles have been prepared using reductive polysaccharides (glucan) as protecting agents and silver nitrate as precursor via a facile green approach, and possible formation mechanism of silver nanoparticle was proposed in this paper. Silver nanoparticles appearance, size and size distribution were controlled by different synthesis technologies and reaction conditions. By changing the reaction conditions such as AgNO3 solution concentration, glucan dosage, reaction temperature, reaction time, the parameters affecting the product shape, particle size and size distribution were investigated. The samples synthesized were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-vis spectrophotometer (UV-vis) methods. The results have showed that nanosilver particle with different shapes such as rod-like, sheet-like or flake and tree-like etc. can be prepared by reductive polysaccharides, and it is a green preparation technology.

The blue organic electroluminescent device using TPBi as hole blocking layer is reported. The structure of device is ITO/ NPB(30 nm)/ DPVBi (15 nm)/ TPBi (x nm,x=0, 6)/ Alq (30 nm)/ LiF(1 nm)/ Al (200 nm) . With the addition of the TPBi not only make the highly of the blue organic electroluminescent device stable attachment x=0.168,y=0.170, but also the color coordinates change is very small and the chromaticity is relatively stable, which is coming from TPBi blocked hole in the organic emitting layer so as to improve the balance of the carrier, the composite probability of the exciton in organic functional layer and the efficiency of the organic electroluminescence device. The experiment shows the efficiency of the device is 3.32 cd/A, the maximum brightness of the device can reach 2222 cd/m2when the voltage is 20V, respectively.

An organic light emitting device (OLED) with multilayer structure is reported. The devices were made of ITO/ m-MTDATA (45 nm)/ NPB (10 nm) / DCJTB (0.05 nm)/DPVBi (x nm)/ Alq:QAD 0.5% 20nm /Alq (50-x nm)/LiF(1nm)/Al, by doping combine with non-doping method. The ultrathin layer was introduced for the yellow emitting layer by using 4- (dicyanomethylene)-2-tert-butyl-6 (1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-enyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTB). The ultrathin layer offered an attraction in that it allowed the easy handling process and accurate thickness control, it enabled high device efficiency with simple architecture.The device shows the current efficiency of 2.79 cd/A at 12V, its maximum luminance is 17450 cd/m2 at 14V, respectively.

An acrylate resin copolymerized with epoxy and amino resin was prepared in this paper, and its polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified nanocomposites were fabricated via physical blending. Results showed that glass transition temperature of the acrylate copolymer was about 7.9 oC via DSC. Dispersion of nanocomposites with aminopropyllsobutyl POSS is better than those with Octalsobutyl POSS. Moreover, glass transition temperatures of the nanocomposites with POSS are close to the acrylate copolymer matrix.

The organosilicone gel material for large-power LED packaging was prepared through Si-H addition reaction of hydrogen-silicone with vinyl-silicone catalyzed by Pt coordination compound in this paper. The curing behavior was investigated by DSC method, and the curing dynamic parameters were obtained, i.e., the curing activation energy and reaction level of the system were 79.23kJ/mol and 0.8271 respectively, the initial curing temperature, maximum curing temperature and post-curing temperature were 75°C, 90°Cand 120°C, respectively, which supplied the basic data for the preparation and application of organosilicone materials for large-power LED packaging.

Energy crisis caused short supply of reliable and affordable energy for our future generations and ourselves, meanwhile more and more stringent laws and regulations were established on excess sludge treatment and disposal, the potential for energy recovery from excess sludge has already attracted much more attentions from researchers domestic and abroad. Resource utilization for excess sludge is the best way to solve sludge treatment and disposal problem, simultaneously create a sustainable energy to fulfill present and future energy requirements and thus reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources. This paper presents the current promising research focuses on excess sludge resource utilization methods, i.e. anaerobic digestion, pyrolysis, gasification, microbial fuel cell (MFC), microbial electrolysis cell (MEC).

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), which is a widely used technique, has been applied to the wastewater biological treatment field recently. It can clearly reveal the inner flow state that is the hydraulic condition of a biological reactor. In engineering, it is able to guide the optimization, and even the design. This paper reviews the application of CFD in the main biological reactors, including: stabilization pond, membrane bioreactor and activated sludge reactor. In addition, the existing difficulties are thoroughly analyzed from three aspects: the current researches, the limitation of the studies and the reasons of the limitation. The ultimate purpose of this review is to point out the developing direction of the research and to inspire researchers to expand the use of CFD in this field.

Phosphorus is an essential element for life. But the release of phosphorus from wastewater effluents has identified as the major causes of eutrophication in aquctic environment and the effluent standards are becoming more and more stringent. Thus, both biological and chemical phosphorus remove processes have been widely used to remove phosphorus from wastewater, as well as combined phosphorus removal and recovery processes. This review presents the current and emerging investigation on phosphorus removal and recovery. The purpose of this paper is to guide or inspire researchers who are seeking feasible and efficient systems and processes for phosphorus removal and recovery.

The enclosed air plays a significant role in form-finding and loading analysis of ETFE cushions. A new numerical model of ETFE cushions is proposed in order to consider the interaction effects between outer membrane and internal air. Then the form-finding and loading analysis of a regular hexagon ETFE cushion are performed and compared with experimental study. It is shown that the numerical results are in good agreement with the test results. The interaction FE model can be used in static analysis of ETFE cushions.

A three-dimensional refined model of composite lining is built with the example of shield tunnel of Xijiang water diversion project in Guangzhou by using finite element software. Segment opening and steel pile deformation characteristics are analyzed. Necessity of light material and steel pile is detailed explained. The results show that the maximal segment opening of composite lining is 0.361 millimeter. The bolts are in elastic state and not appear plastic deformation, so segment without leakage. Steel pipe strain curve is approximate circular symmetry in whole circle. It is necessary to add light material and steel pile, because they can effectively reduce the stress of concrete and prevent cracking.

Through indoor simulation test of double-block ballastless track sleeper loose hydrodynamic pressure, this paper study the variation laws of hydrodynamic pressure of different position, different load and frequency variation. The results show: The location of the biggest hydrodynamic pressure is in the middle of the crack and near the not void area. The amplitude and frequency of load have obvious influence on the hydrodynamic pressure. When the load amplitude is more than 30kN or load frequency exceeds 10HZ, the effect on the hydrodynamic pressure is particularly notable.

In the present work, Cr2O3-Al2O3-Cr coatings are prepared on Q235 steel by aluminothermic process based on Cr2O3Al system, using Cr2O3as diluents while a small quantity of Fe2O3to reduce reaction temperature. The results showed that after treated at 650oC for 30minutes, homogenous Cr2O3-Al2O3-Cr coatings can be prepared on Q 235 steel by aluminothermic process with the powders mixture with weight ratio of Cr2O3: Fe2O3: A1 equal to 4: 0.3: 1.12, while coatings prepared by mixture with superfluous aluminum are fragmentary. Surface hardness of the coatings prepared with superfluous Cr2O3is about 23.9GPa while that of the coatings prepared with superfluous Al is about 10.9 GPa and large scatter of 13.7% in hardness.

Mobile IPv6 is the key application in 3G network which is putting into commercial use. In this paper, we introduce the basic principle and key technology of Mobile IPv6 as well as its main implementing details and build a Mobile IPv6 test bed with Linux and MIPL. The mechanism of Mobile IPv6 is also validated through our experiments.

An organic emitting device with well structure is reported. The well structure fabricated by alternating deposition of constituent tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq) and 4, 7-diphenyl-1, 10-phenanthroline (BPhen) layers improved the current efficiency. The enhanced efficiency can be attributed to the strong accumulation of electrons and holes in the emitting layer, which leads to an increase of the exciton formation and exciton recombination probability. The single well device exhibits the highest current efficiency of 4.12cd/A at 4V, which is more than 1.2 times than that of the conventional organic light-emitting devices. It is an effective and simple way to improve the efficiency of the organic devices by utilizing well structure as the emitting layer with proper well number.

As the important airborne equipment of casualty aeromedical evacuation, the structure design of aeromedical evacuations stretcher bracket not only has to meet the mounting interface in the civil aviation aircraft and meet the medical rescue requirements during the casualty evacuation, and also has the good bearing capacity of limit load. A structure design of frame-type aeromedical evacuations stretcher bracket is presented in this paper. Based on the finite element method (FEM), the ultimate bearing capacity of the bracket attachment of this structure is analyzed with nonlinear mechanics, and then the intensity and stiffness under the case combinations of limit load are simulated and analyzed to ensure the good security and reliability of the stretcher bracket during the casualty aeromedical evacuation.

In this study, the resins modified with trimellitie anhydride (named ZT3) or phthalic anhydride (named ZT5) during the post-crossing of chloromethyl low crosslinking macroporous poly-styrene resin were prepared, characterized and evaluated for adsorptive removal of o-aminobenzoic acid (OABA) from aqueous solutions. The structural characterization results indicated that the resins possessed predominant micropores surface area and moderate specific surface area. The adsorption performance of OABA onto ZT3 and ZT5 was studied through static and kinetic adsorption experiment with the commercial Amberlite XAD-4 as a contrast. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equation could fit the adsorption isotherm of OABA onto ZT3 and ZT5 perfectly. The adsorptions of OABA onto the three resins were all spontaneous exothermic processes with physical characters. Kinetic analysis showed that the adsorption reaction could be approximated by a quasi-first kinetic adsorption equation. A orange organic light-emitting device has been fabricated with a structure of ITO/m-MTDATA (45 nm)/NPB (8 nm)/ DPVBi:DCJTB 0.5 % (15 nm)/TPBi (x nm)/Alq3 [(60-x) n /LiF (1 nm)/Al£¬where x=0, 4, 7 and 10, respectively. N-arylbenzinmidzoles (TPBi) was used as the excton-blocking layer resulting mixture of lights from DPVBi molecules (blue-light) and DCJTB (yellow-light) molecules, thereby producing orange light emission. The performance of device can be readily adjusted by only varying the thickness of the TPBi layer. The Commission Internationale de 1'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of the device are largely insensitive to diffrent of the driving voltages. When the thickness of TPBi is 7 nm, the device exhibits peak efficiency of 6.16 cd/A at the applied voltage of 8 V, and the maximum brightness is 43310 cd/m2 at 15 V, respectively.

The new framework shows feasibility that have to be carefully considered in order to get information system with good performance. The feasibility included in the framework is divided into four categories: management feasibility, technical feasibility, staff feasibility, and social feasibility. The framework is new because it includes many factors that are not founding together in any of the previous similar architectures.

Efficient white organic light-emitting diodes are fabricated with the blue and green fluorescent incorporating red phosphorescent emitting layer. The blue, green and red emitting layer consist of 1,4-bis (2,2-diphenyl vinyl) benzene (DPVBi), tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium (Alq) and the bis (1-(phenyl) isoquinoline) iridium (III) acetylanetonate [Ir (piq)2(acac)] doped into 4,4(-N,N)-dicarbazole-biphenyl (CBP) host, respectively. The devices were made of ITO/ m-MTDATA (40 nm)/ NPB (10 nm) /DPVBi (8 nm)/ CBP: Ir (piq)2(acac) x% 5nm/ Alq (50 nm )/ LiF (1 nm) / Al (200 nm). The electroluminescent (EL) spectra exhibit three peaks at 456, 520 and 620 nm, resulting in white light-emission with the Commission Internationale dEclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of (0.37, 0.44) at 4V to (0.23, 0.30) at 13V when x is 4, while the device shows the current efficiency of 4.0 cd/A at 6V, and its maximum luminance is 21660 cd/m2 at 13V, respectively.

For estimating seismic response of pier-structure under near-fault ground motion, The typical pulse-type near-fault ground motion records were chosen to establish a record base, and three pier models with different natural period were established; The non-elastic response spectral displacement of ground motion was used to estimate the nonlinear response; The yield displacement of the nonlinear oscillator was defined based on the static pushover analysis result, and its influence on response estimation was studied. The study result is important for structural seismic response estimation by using the non-elastic response spectral displacement and the probability-based seismic performance evaluation.

This paper is to explore the feasibility of a novel combined uncoupler of 3,3ˊ,4ˊ,5-tetrachlorosalicylanilide (TCS) and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP) on excess activated sludge reduction compared to single dose of TCS and TCP. Four sequenced batch reactors (SBR) were continuously operated during two-month period dosed by different concentration of metabolic uncoupler. The comparative experiments showed that the combined uncoupler could effectively limit sludge yield by approximately 52%, followed by TCS, TCP, without obvious affecting the TOC removal rate and SVI value. At the end of the operation, the variation of zeta potential clearly indicated that uncoupler dosing affected the flocculability of activated sludge. The study demonstrated applying a combined uncoupler was feasible and promising technique to reduce sludge yield in SBR.

With wind tunnel tests, simultaneous pressure measurements are made on 4 cylindrical roof models with different rise-span ratios and roof inclinations. Effects of these geometrical factors on wind pressure characteristics of the roofs are investigated, including mean pressure coefficients, RMS pressure coefficients, skewness, kurtosis, and probability distributions of wind pressure. Results show that the mean vertical wind force coefficient of high rise-span ratio roof is larger than that of the low rise-span ration roof; the mean pressure coefficient distribution of the low rise-span ratio roof is similar to that of RMS pressure coefficients and the skewness (or the kurtosis); the vortex center line occurs at the windward edge for the low rise-span ratio roof with inclination 0°, which occurs at the roof apex for the high rise-span ratio roof. The roof inclination has more effects on the low rise-span ratio roof, the vortex moves from the windward edge to the apex for the roof with inclination 7.2°when the wind flows from the low eave to the high eave. The distribution of the skewness is strongly correlative to that of the kurtosis. The probability distributions of the roof edges and corners deviate obviously from the Guass distribution. If this point is ignored, the peak suction pressure will be underestimated.

In this paper, the possibility and potential of biohydrogen production by co-fermentation of starch wastewater (SW) and WAS under thermophilic temperature was studied in batch fermentation tests. WAS was first pretreated by thermophilic enzyme together with low intensity ultrasound (LIU) to improve the biochemical degradability. Then After 8 h pretreatment, all soluble substances were much higher than raw sludge without pretreatment. In addition, the SCOD, carbohydrate and protein of the tests which were accelerated by low-frequency ultrasound were 11.5% 18.4%, 17.8% higher than the control, respectively. Results from the co-fermentation further demonstrated that the sludge had high pH buffering capacity. A mixing ratio of 1:1 was found to be the best among of all co-fermentation tests. Moreover it was proved in this study that hydrogen production by co-fermentation of starch wastewater and sludge was a promising technology to recovery energy from the waste.

In view of the scale extending of the green building label project in the future, the paper studied on the energy efficiency design of the residential envelop in Guangzhou by investigation and simulation to achieve the decreasing ranges of energy consumption more than 10% of building energy efficiency standard value, and provided a technical measures for the energy efficiency ratio 60% just by improving the thermal performance of the envelop.
