In drilling the ultra-slim small diameter deep hole of titanium alloy, the problem of chip breaking and chip removal is common. When the drill is working normally, the ultrasonic vibration can be applied for the drill bit to cut the bit in the vibration to form a pulse. The cutting force waveform in drilling, should select the reasonable vibration frequency, amplitude, feed amount, workpiece rotation and other parameters to match, control the size and shape of the chip, get satisfactory chips, and avoid chip clogging. In this study, the ANSYS finite element simulation software was used to simulate the TC4 drilling process, and the difference between ultrasonic vibration drilling and ordinary drilling was analyzed. Drilling experiments were carried out. The experimental results show that compared with conventional drilling, ultrasonic vibration drilling has better surface quality, reduced tool wear and increased material removal rate.

In this paper, based on the theoretical study of tool wear and the systematic analysis of the main factors affecting the tool durability, four types of PVD and CVD-coated blades from three manufacturers were subjected to cutting tests using PCrNi3MoVA gun steel workpieces. The wear morphology, fatigue curves, and chip patterns of the tested blades were comparatively analyzed. The influence of the coating type on the tool durability was investigated using a scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results obtained strongly indicate that TiAlN coating deposited by the PVD technology has the best thermal stability, temperature oxidation resistance, and tool durability when cutting PCrNi3MoVA gun steel workpieces under semi-finishing conditions. The wear resistance of the other three types of blades was relatively lower due to less favorable coating compositions and structures. The study findings are instrumental in the substantiated selection of cutters for practical applications and provide a reference for the design optimization of indexable coated inserts.

In the pipeline construction, the girth welds tend to be the weakness because of defects and microstructure. The importance of suitable assessment of various defects in the weld is not only to prevent the cracks from unstable growth to cause catastrophic accident but also can effectively reduce the weld repair to reduce construction cost. Although many welding defects assessment methods and codes are used in this field, there are many differences among them. In this paper, the welding defect assessment methods, such as API 1104 and BS7910, were studied. The results show the key factors that affect the result of these assessment methods. The application of these methods was also discussed. The results indicate that API 1104 level1 has the highest conservatism, while API 1104 level 2 is next.

To confirm pipeline designs and validate the weld toughness, extensively works of Curved Wide Plate (CWP) test methods was carried out. The method of Two Clip Gauge-CTOD was firstly introduced in CWP test in this paper. The test results of CWP analyzed by Two Clip Gauge-CTOD method and Compliance—J method was compared. The CTOD-R curves achieved by these methods showed the good consistence with each other. Furthermore, the difference of the test results among SENB(single edge-notched bend), SENT(single edge-notched tensile) and CWP was discussed. It shows that the toughness obtained by SENB is relatively conservative, and CWP and SENT are recommend to be chosen for pipeline steel welds toughness test.

In this paper, the effect of ferrous ion on the corrosion behavior of 410 martensitic stainless (410SS) steel was investigated by corrosion tests, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The corrosion tests were conducted in brine solution saturated with H2S and two type of iron compounds (FeS and FeSO4). The reults revealed that there exists apparent difference between piting resistence of FeSO4 and FeS addition for 410SS. The corrosion rates of specimens in FeSO4 solution was much higher than that of FeS, and the corrosion rate reached a maximum of 1.299 mm/year when the concentration was about 0.15 mol/L. The SEM results showed that without FeS (indissolvable) and FeSO4, steel suffered slight corrosion, meanwhile several pittings appeared after 42 h. Compared with that of FeS, much more pittings grew on the specimens with FeSO4. The corrosion product was mainly mackinawite.

According to the requirements of the high temperature flameless catalytic combustion burner ignition and intelligent control, the author designed intelligent electronic igniter with microprocessor controlled. Intelligent electronic igniter is controlled by Freescale MC9S08GB60A microcontroller chip and the thermocouple is used as a temperature sensor. It also combined with high-voltage ignition circuit and the solenoid valve control circuit to achieve real-time temperature monitoring of high temperature flameless catalytic burner control ignition, flame cut off valve and other intelligent control.

A four freedom robot able to carry out automatic welding of offshore platform is introduced in this paper. The kinematic design of the robot has been designed according to the welding seam feature of T/Y/K-joint. The path planning of T/Y and the obstacle avoidance technique are used to study the robot’s collision avoidance welding on K-joint. In the process of K-joint path planning, the geometrical method was adopted to study the welding torch’s posture in branch gap. And for ensuring the postural stability of robot, the robot posture of a series welding points in single branch pipe condition was adjusted gradually in K-joint condition. The automatic welding process of K-joint was simulated in Solidworks. The result shows that the method could satisfy the collision avoidance requirement in the K-joint welding project.

In connection with the model of the turbine blade to be maintained, the path planning technology for the welding robot is researched. By using Solidworks, the model of the turbine blade is layered and dispersed. According to the analysis of the main function of welding robot’s offline programming system, path planning and torch pose planning are designed for blades maintenance. According to the characteristics of simulation data, the result shows this program is valuable for turbine blades maintenance based on welding robot.

The paper studies machining technology, cutting parameter. It does experimentation research for drilling superfine deep-hole drilling of 2Cr13 stainless steel, of which slenderness ratio is greater than 300.The test result indicates that the drilling process is stable and reliable, the optimizing cutting technology and cutting parameters is rational, the production of the type of deep hole drilling technical problems have been solved. It has practical application in common production. The parameter can produce superfine deep holes of 2Cr13 stainless steel with the length to diameter ratio 322. In this paper, the key technologies of drilling 2Cr13 stainless steel deep hole are explained, which include selecting the system of drilling deep hole, designing of structure of deep hole bit, selecting the material of cutter blade of bit , and designing the geometry parameters of blade.

The detritus of drilling well carry the important information of stratum, which is the important basis for discovering and evaluating oil and gas layer. So it is important to get detritus from the viscous drilling mud. In this paper, it studies the technology of cleaning detritus. According to the requirements of cleaning process and water - saving on the drilling well spot, DF - Windspout separator cleaner is designed, which is used to clean detritus. The mixture of viscous drilling mud and the detritus are accelerated through the double fluid (DF) system. Then they go into the windspout separation, they are separated to fluid and solid at here. Next the fluid is purified by ultrasonic microfiltration plant. The water can be recycled again. It can ensure the clean debris, the accuracy of collecting debris, accurate, remove the fake block and solves the lack of the dis - continuity of sampling.
