Silicon nitride whiskers or rod-like crystals have a wide range application due to its excellent mechanical properties and high temperature performance. Two different silicon powders with different size (mesh 200 and mesh 300, respectively) were chosen to prepare rod-like Si3N4 crystals by SHS method and the effects of silicon particle size on the morphology of rod-like Si3N4 crystals were investigated. The results indicate that rod-like Si3N4 crystals could be formed with either kind of silicon powders when no more than 9wt% extra Y2O3 was introduced, which could effectively promote the growth of rod-like Si3N4 crystals. The residual free silicon was detected when using coarse silicon powders, while the silicon could be reacted completely with nitrogen gas when using fine silicon powders. The morphology of samples with coarse Si powders as starting materials is more uniform and regular than that of fine Si powders samples. Fine silicon powders are not ideal candidates for forming uniform and regular rod-like Si3N4 crystals.

The article proposes the opinions of constructing a benign interaction of scientific research and teaching, such as formation of teaching and research team effect, design scientific research and teaching experimental items, development characteristic scientific research by relying on the geographical advantages, improvement the integrative evaluation system of scientific research and teaching, and establishment coordinated incentive mechanism of scientific research and teaching.

The same scene, the infrared image and visible image fusion can concurrently take advantage of the original image information can overcome the limitations and differences of a single sensor image in terms of geometric, spectral and spatial resolution, to improve the quality of the image , which help to locate, identify and explain the physical phenomena and events. Put forward a kind of image fusion method based on wavelet transform. And for the wavelet decomposition of the frequency domain, respectively, discussed the principles of select high-frequency coefficients and low frequency coefficients, highlight the contours of parts and the weakening of the details section, fusion, image fusion has the characteristics of two or multiple images, more people or the visual characteristics of the machine, the image for further analysis and understanding, detection and identification or tracking of the target image.

Recently, automatic face recognition method has become one of the key issues in the field of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. Typically, the face recognition process can be divided into three parts: the detection and recognition of human face, facial feature extraction and face recognition, and among which the facial feature extraction is the key to face recognition technology. In this paper, an extraction algorithm of face recognition feature, which is based on face recognition feature, is proposed. The experimental results based on the ORL face database demonstrate that this algorithm works well.

Preparation of single-phase and high purity nanophase TiO2 powders with small crystallite size were investigated by microwave hydrothermal method. By varying starting materials and reaction condition, four titania powders were prepared. Single-phase and high purity nanocrystalline anatase was obtained by hydrolysis of Ti(C4H9O)4 at 120oC for 3 h, which exhibited granulous and uniformly dispersed, with the average crystallite size of 10 nm. Well crystallized and single-phase rutile was obtained by hydrolysis of TiCl4 first at 120oC for 1.5 h and then at 180oC for 1 h, which exhibited shuttle-like and well-dispersed TiO2, with average diameter of 10 nm, by means of XRD and TEM.

N doped ZnO thin films were prepared by magnetron sputtering. The effect of bias voltage, N2flow and introducing of Al on the behavior of N doping into ZnO films were investigated. The results show that there is little help for N doping into the ZnO films by just adjusting N flow rate because the magnetron sputtering method has a relative weak ability on dissociating the N2. The data of co-doping of Al and N into ZnO films revealed that co-doping is an effective way to advance the N doping into ZnO films. The coordination of Al doping and bias voltage could help the N doping effectively.

The synthesis of nanocrystalline pure anatase at low temperature and short time is not an easy achievement, as the synthetic processes generally lead to amorphous, moreover some processes normally require harsh reaction. Uniform nanocrystalline pure anatase has been obtained using tetrabutyl titanate and normal butyl alcohol under microwave irradiation condition at low temperature 120 °C for 3 h. This process simplication will lower production cost and make continuous process possible. It was revealed that the as-synthesized TiO2 products without any heat treatment were uniformly dispersed and granulous single-phase anatase, with the average grain size of 10 nm, by means of XRD and TEM.

Nanocrystalline titanium dioxide was synthesized by microwave hydrothermal (MH) using tetrabutyl titanate and normal butyl alcohol as start materials. The mixture solution of tetrabutyl titanate and normal butyl alcohol in 1:1.5 molar ratio was processed in a microwave hydrothermal digestion system at 200oC for 20 min to prepare nanosized TiO2 powders. The results showed that the microwave assisted reactions proceed at a faster rate than the traditional hydrothermal methods. The powder was heat treated at 500oC and the final products is ~20 nm in size and well dispersed.
